Or so I dreamt of last night. It was a really odd dream as it involved some LoTR, some Werewolf and some oddities that do not belong to either Tolkien's work nor this lovely forum.

I was the King, but oddly enough my "palace" was... my bedroom... (why can't I have cool dreams? would have been too hard to dream of Gondor?) and I was worried because I could not find that darned wolf!! I knew it was out there, I knew it was someone from my city... but I was the King, the people were looking at me for guidance and I had no idea!! it was so stressing!! I remember arguing with some people I have never met (so I guess it could have been you all). Then I woke up.

I wonder if this dream meant that I'm somewhat of a bossy yet useless human being.... (King that does not what to do) or maybe it means that... I should NOT get my name down for the next werewolf game to be started.

The coast would be fine ...but I don't know Scotland well..... 10 days based in Edinburgh as a child - can't remember where we went now probably not that far, then a week in Aviemore later but years ago....

I guess it's safe to say this now...

I had a hard time deciding the first two Nights who to choose for my Seer dream in Werewolf XVI. The only pertinent thing here is that on the second Night, I picked Gurthang.

Then that night, I dreamt that Moderadacil revealed that Gurthang is an ordo. I can't remember if it was through PM or something else, but I'm certain that's what he said.

The next Day, I received a PM from the same mod saying that Gurthang is an ordinary villager. :eek:

And for the next few nights, I've been dreaming of muddled confusion going on in Dol-in-Gaurhoth, which is not very different from what really went on there, really.

I guess I've been into my role too much... :D

Last night I had a dream that for some strange reason, everyone in my neighborhood still had Christmas wreaths hung on their doors and houses and Anguirel was going around with an incinerator gun burning them because "it was time to do it." He was sort of a dark masked hero and I was the only one who knew who it was, but he didn't realize it was me. Everyone seemed to think this was a grand idea except my dad, who was mad at me and my family because "we never have Christmas wreaths, and we finally got one, and you're letting him burn it!"

My dream didn't involve 'Downers (though I have had a few of those), but it involved the 'Downs. For some odd reason I was trying to think up a caption for the new picture in Crazy Captions, and I came up with a couple good ones....but when I woke up, I couldn't remember them. I hate it when that happens.

I had a dream last night in which I was checking my e-mail and I accidentally deleted one from TGWBS, marking it as spam. I was worried in the dream because for some reasons, PMs weren't working, so I couldn't explain why I hadn't written back. Odd dream.

Two nights in a row...

Last night, I had a dream that Alcarillo apparently could not see my most recent post in the Eorling Mead Hall, and he was really mad that I had not posted because he wanted to post but could not until I had responded. He sent me a really hateful PM and threatened me that if I didn't post, he would do something. And I was really confused because I definantly had posted, but he didn't get that.

I had a dream just this morning about the Reunification of the Entish Bow crew, plus piosenniel and her husband (well, I thought it was her husband) talking about something or another (darn, I forgot!) Then suddenly pio storms off, and her husband says to the rest of them, 'Look what you did. You made her angry.'

As if by cue, the sound of a knife chopping something fills the air. He continues, 'It'll take me a day to get her out of the kitchen.' And then he storms off, too.

I'm trying my best to come up with a meaning, but I see nothing. :confused:

I had a dream last night that I had started two new threads in 'The Movies' for analyzing two different screen captures from FotR. All the answers I got were something like "this is a stupid thread" and "why would you start a thread like this". Then I got two PMs that were actually neg-reps from Kuruharan that said:

This is a bad thread! ;)

and

*pat on the back* This is really bad! ;)

Well, rest assured that I won't start a new thread for a while after this - at least not in The Movies.

After a long time without any dreams even remotley connected to the Downs it finaly happend. I had a dream about two downers, this really should not be a suprisse to me as I have been bombarding them with PM's for a while. Yes I am talking about Abercombie and Shelob.

The dream goes like this:

I am sitting in a bar with some Abercombie and Shelob after a short while some of my friends walks in to the bar and join us at out table. (I belive we had agreed to meet there) I introduce Abercombie and Shelob to my friends. After a good while on of my friends named Thomas tells us that he allso know a girl named Shelob, only that she is infact a Giant Worm. . . As soon as he has spoken those words Shelob starts to transform and within a very short time she looks exactley like I have allways pictured Glaurung. (More like a worm than the classical dragon) We then go back to talking normaly and the dream ends with Shelob still being a worm.

Now the thing that pussles me about this dream is, why wasn't Malkatoj in it. . .

I've joined the ranks of Downs Dreamers. It goes something like this:

I was in the cafeteria, having lunch with the ATMers (minus lmp, but more on that later). For some reason, they all looked just like people I go to school with, even the ones whose pics I've seen. We were all having a good time discussing plot lines when lmp walked in wearing a long black cape. He had turned into Anakron from the RPG and was yelling something about how we weren't working on his challenges and asking how we managed to escape Mordor and go to Philly without his permission. We all ran and hid under the tables. Then a food fight started and Anakron kept yelling at the food tossers to hit us with the french fries.

Then I woke up. Never did find out if the french fries hit us or not.

I dreamt that I was discussing Revelations with Lhuna by PM. She casually slipped into the conversation the fact that she had worked out the apocalypse was coming in four days time.

I became very worried, to say the least.

And half an hour sooner in Newfoundland?

Day before yesterday, I dreamed I was looking through people's avatars to collect three which had the names of their 'Downers on them...the only one I found was Thinlómien's, which dismayed me because I realized then that she had changed it.

Then last night I dreamed that I assigned the Star Spangled Banner to the Shire because I did a duet with Boromir88 at a baseball game. (B88, I like you a lot, but you need to learn the words. ;) ) Yeah, he looked like his pic on Tig's picture page, Boromir costume and all.

But for now, I shall recount a tale of Mithalwen.

It was really odd. She was on some sort of dating website; I can't remember my place in the dream. I think she may have been showing me one of the functions of the website, where you could choose to search for people by race - for example, you could exclude Jews. This makes sense because I was discussing racism and Nazism and such with Eomer, but I don't see how Mith came into it. Perhaps my mind was rebelling against too many Eomer dreams.

She had lots of curly hair, just as I imagine her, anyway.

Weird dream last night! :(

I had a dream in which I went to Buckingham palace and Eomer was there. He offered me a cup of tea. For some reason, I had some in my suitcase. :D Also, I remember there being a portrait of The Saucepan Man and Davem in the palace.
After this, Gil-Gallad was on Television, I cant' remember why.

I think I need a psychiatrist.

I dreamt something really strange last night. It's not an actual Barrow Downs dream, but it's certainly Tolkien-influenced and i guess the time I've spent here made me dream this dream. So I hope it qualifies for this thread :)

In the dream I found out the true origin of Trolls. Apparently, Elves with exactly 3 names (forenames, middlenames and surnames and nicknames included) can't remain Elves. For example: Beleg Cuthalion can be said to have two names, but if he was called Beleg Cuthalion the Brave, he would cease to be an elf. So what happens?

Well, first of all these three-named elves hates bilateral flowers (!). Why I don't know, but it's a fact. Second: they transform into Trolls. Yes, it's true! It was a Troll that told me himself. He had a scottish accent and kept calling me "Bart".

Now, who needs a psychiatrist? ;)

Just now I was downstairs reading a play when I started to drift in and out of sleep. While definately on the sleep side of this drifting I dreamt I'd checked barrowdowns and gotten a positive rep which read:

"#--@- Elvpoii!!!!! What a terrible post begining! -Eomer"

This woke me up, and I'm not sure if it was the shock of getting such a rep or the attempt to figure out what 'elvpoii' means....

A curious thing happened to me last night. As I went to sleep, I was pondering Squatter's cryptic clue in the "Which Downer am I?" thread - Different Set of Circumstances Makes Suspicious Tea. The answer eluded me.

Then, in a dream, a word came to me: "Kettle". In my dream, I went to the 'Downs and did a search for a member with "kettle" in the name. But I woke up before I could find one.

It was the middle of the night. I struggled to remember what I'd just been dreaming about. "Kettle". There was once a Barrow-downer with "Kettle" in his name, wasn't there? Or was I, in my half-waking state, thinking of "RKittle"? I nearly staggered out of bed to go to the 'Downs right then, but I thought better of it, rolled over, and went back to sleep.

This morning, as usual, I stopped at the 'Downs. By this time, the dream seemed fairly silly to me, but I searched for "kettle" anyway. And there it was - a member named "Kettle of Fish". It was the solution! I raced to the "Which Downer" thread . . .

. . . to find that Mithalwen had just made that very guess and that he was right. My glory was stolen.

The moral of this story, of course, is: if you wake up from some Barrow-downs related dream, get up and go to the Downs.

I dreamt that the Barrow Wight was somehow taxing us on BDs usage. A taxman came round to my house and presented me with a £400 bill. I'm not sure what the usual tax rate was, but I persuaded him to lower it to 40%, and was overjoyed (I hugged him) when he did so. So it must have been significantly higher than that.

What we were taxed on, I have no idea.

Well, it seems I have now entered the realm of Barrow-Downer Dreamers. Well, I've had a couple of dreams with Werewolf or Rep in them, but last night I had my first proper dream involving a 'Downer. Or maybe two...

For some background information, it's essential that you are aware of my employment as a Cook (sometimes this equals Grunt) in a pizza shop. In my dream, it seems that it was either late at night or sometime in the earlier afternoon, since I was the only cook in the store. It also seems that I was still somewhat sick, and was in need of using the washroom.

At this point, Anguirel comes in, and I get into a huff because he was supposed to have been there earlier (apparently Anguirel works with me...) and I was ticked off because I needed him to cut his pizzas while I went to the washroom.

At this point I woke up, and realized with a shock that Anguirel is a 'Downer, not a co-worker, so he could not have been buying pizza, or working with me, and he definitely couldn't have a PIN number of "X".

TGWBS seems to have been in the picture somewhere as well... Possibly he was the useless delivery driver that was leaving all the work to me.

It beats my most recent barrowdowns related dream though Form.

In mine a group of downers, of whom I can only remember you (Form), Wayne, Abercrombie/Malka and myself specifically, were at my grandmothers house to play werewolf. Real Werewolf, the wolves killed people and we, well, I think we threw them into a pond that was on my grandma's porch. One of the mornings we'd woken up and before we'd gathered to figure out who the wolves had killed I went to brush my teeth. Come to find out, of course, the wolves had killed WaynetheGoblin and turned him into the toothpaste I had just used.

Three guesses who read her tooth-past lable extra carfully this morning...

Last night I had an interesting dreamlette (one of those really short dreams, it's more like a picture than anything else.) I was working at a grocery store and I had just finished ringing a customer up, so I looked over to start ringing up the next person. And lo and behold! the next person in line was Esty and she had tons and tons of salad. She had stacked it up on top of the counter and in the cart and it was overflowing into the next aisle. She just stood in the middle of it all smiling and wearing her red dress that she's wearing in her BD picture.

I think we threw them into a pond that was on my grandma's porch

I dreamt of a cartoon. Even more so, a Garfield cartoon. Pretty innocent, eh? so first drawing, Garfield approaches a tree. Second one, there's a man who was hung there, with a pan placed instead of his head and a big sign saying "Good job villagers," and another at the man who was probably SPM saying "The Wolves"

I should seriously quit.

This was so weird but I had a dream that i was doing something.......can't remember. Then everywhere Nilp kept popping up saying kill me! you know you want to! Or I shall kill me for you! and stuff to that effect. It was weird because I would open the trash can lid and there would be Nilp.....Open the closet...There's Nilp amongst the shoes! And the thing is i can't remember what he looked like either! Just that he was everywhere and he wanted to die one way or another! I told you it was weird!:D :p

Now this is just plain silly. I don't even PLAY Werewolf, and I just had a dream about me, my RP character Fionn, and Undome's RP character Meghan being attacked by werewolves (And one weretiger). We were in a big courtyard with Theoden and an army of warriors from Rohan, and as Theoden was talking, I saw a pair of werewolves creep up behind him. I yelled out, and suddenly the werewolf army ambushed us.

One grabbed me and was yelling that he was going to bite my head off, and I was screaming at Fionn and Meghan to help me. Finally they got the idea and came forward, but as soon as they attacked the wolf, their swords turned into blunt metal sticks. Eventually Fionn managed to kill it somehow, with Meghan holding it back.

Last night I dreamed that Nilp contacted me via MSN - he had made a list of ten or twelve people to invite to his home in the Phillipines, and I was one of the lucky people on the list. I hemmed and hawed a bit, saying that I didn't know if I could afford it. This was a lie, however, since I believed that I could afford it.

I don't remember asking my parents or anything, but I started packing shirts, and me and my friend Earl readied up the raft (?) and pushed it up the river that was flowing upwards on the road (??).

We had got into town (...Kalamazoo? Eh?) when I discovered that I had packed my flannel pajamas, and since the Phillipines are an island and therefore warm, I had to stop and get some lighter nightclothes.

So we stopped at a Wal-Mart and I bought some pajamas, toiletries, and some yellow, used, but still-bouncy tennis balls (???), and we were off again.

Then I tried to drill the raft for to make maple syrup. :eek:

I don't remember much else, except getting off the plane, and seeing Menel, Davem & Lalwë, and perhaps B88.

There may have been a game of Werewolf involved.

And why yes, I did pig out on pizza last night.

I've been having BD dreams two nights in a row now...

First dream:
I, my little sister and my dad went to a bar. Lots of people we're playing snooker there and smoking. We met Sleepy Ranger there. He was a blond boy who had a long black leather coat and matrix-style sunglasses. I and my dad had had problems with a Star Wars miniature and we asked Sleepy to help us with it. He agreed to help. Then my dad wanted to stay in the bar, but I, my sister and Sleepy went to my school. There was no one there except dancing spawn of ungoliant. We talked with her for a while, but then Sleepy and my sister got bored and they wanted to go and drive the Helsinki metro line from one end to another. I asked spawn, would she like to leave also, but she said she was too lazy. So Sleepy and my sister went away and I and spawn stayed at my school and sharpened pencils with a big green pensil sharpener. Then spawn got bored and we went to the school library. We talked in MSN messenger with a spanish friend of spawn's, who was a 'downer. I had never heard of her before and I thought she was very irritating. The dream ended to a picture of me and spawn watching sport news in my grandparents'.

Second dream:
I had been on the 'downs whole night though I was supposed to clean my room. I was playing survivor, if I remember correctly. Then, I didn't have time to clean and went to sleep without doing that. When I woke up at morning, I had got an SMS. It said "I sent paavo to clean up your room. Have a nice day. See you on the 'downs. Cheers, Anguirel." My phone said that the number where the text message was from was just 30. Nothing else. I was left wondering how Ang knew my phone number and how had paavo got in so that no one noticed.

I think I should find a way to control my subconsciousness.

Last night I dreamt that the Downs was being bought out by a big corporate company and they refused to let anyone talk about the books! :eek: They claimed that the films were better for making money.
So, The Saucepan Man, Lalwendë, davem, Eomer and Myself protested outside their headquarters. I think we threw Pidgins at their windows. And Eomer released a peacock into their offices and ran away. :D

Also present were JennyHallu, Kath, and there was definately a male Downer, but I don't know who it was.

I watched The Constant Gardener two nights ago, and the following late-in-the-sleep-pattern-toward-dawn dream emerged: the CG actress gets killed. Next thing: "Justice must be done!" Next thing: I see a barrowdowns screen that reads ++ Elempi. Then another death. Then another barrowdowns screen with ++ swampy. Heck if I know what that was supposed to mean. Maybe it's another flourish on 'elempi' :p Then it was back and forth a few times between a movie scene and a barrowdowns vote.

Alright...last night I dreamed I went to work (BK), and I punched in, and my manager Mary was showing me the schedule, but right next to it this new topic on the BD's opened up. I can't remember what it was called, but I remember the third post was by this unregistered user named something like "unbalthawen".

Two posts later, the user had registered, and was saying something like "The Only Real Estel and Oddwen are the rockingest people on the planet and I only like them, but Oddwen, I've been to Holland and I don't think I should associate with you."

Then people I didn't recognize started joining in and saying how awesome I was and how much they adored me. (Malkatoj may have been one of these.)

It was a quite possibly the best dream I've ever had. :p Although it was starting to get quite sad, as the posts got more and more off-topic and I felt the BW was going to close it soon.
But I've never been to Holland. :confused:

Too tall, hair's about right, I really have no idea if my eyes are "spunky"...I just like that they seem to change colors, bigger than that (unfortunately...drat), probably not far off...

A few nights ago I had this wonderful dream seen through the eyes of one of my RPG’s characters. It involved the impending end of a story and I was consciously thinking to my unconscious self - Fantastic! I’ve got to remember this stuff!

It was only as I was waking up I realized that that particular character met his end a long time ago, and that none of it would have worked anyway. It's some sort of sickness, but to be honest I wouldn’t might having a few more ‘bouts of it. ;) )

I don't see how me saying this could cause anyharm considering... well, why don't I just tell it.

Last night, I had a dream that I got a PM from Nilp telling me that Mith and myself (don't know why she was in it) we were the Seers for the game. Then, a little later on, Mith PM'ed me and suggested that we either dream about Garin or Valier and that's where it ended.

I just had a dream involving a few Downers. For some reason, I was in my family's old house. Anguirel was there and he presented me with an essay he'd written discussing the connexion between the new Flaming Lips (http://www.flaminglips.com) album and Jadis the White Witch from Narnia (two awesome subjects). I remember discerning what I believed to be an overlooked flaw in his theory, but I was possibly completely missing his point. I remember Anguirel to be youthful, handsome, intelligent and friendly — for anyone interested in what he's like.

SamwiseGamgee was there too, just hanging out at my house with a bunch of other strangers, including a creepy lady who lived next door.

And AbercrombieofRohan was also there. She kept saying "But I hardly know Eomer!" Which was strange. Despite hardly knowing me, I had still managed to lure her into my house. And some guy was there begging me to check to see if my boiler was working properly.

Tonight I had an extremely lengthy chat over MSN with JennyHallu. I believe Kuruharan may have been involved as well at some point. I cannot remember the exact topic of conversation, but it was certainly very deep.

Last night I had a dream that the Downs was having serious bandwidth issues, so they were really coming down on people with sigs more than three lines. So I'm thinking, wait, my sig is more than three lines, don't hurt me... :D

And a while ago (about a month, but I was out of town so I forgot about it) I had a dream coming straight from the "Assigned to Mordor" thread. I dreamed that on the trip I was on someone said route "root" and I wanted to say, "no it's route [as in rowt]. If you don't believe me, ask Fea."

I threw some shurikens at them. They jumped to dodge my attack, but as soon as their feet touched the ground, two clones of me appeared from underground, grabbed the two Downers by the ankles, and then dragged them to the ground, leaving only their heads sticking up.

Well... bear with me here. This is a long dream involving werewolves and Kathwin. It's all rather confusing.

First off, I was a zombie in a secret society for zombies at my school. A teacher discovered this and trooped in with two policemen armed with guns to put an end to our zombism.

I forget a bit and my memory jumps straight to a standoff between us. I was holding my teacher hostage but the policemen had their guns aimed straight at me.

My teacher said "Now it's just like those games where you have to destroy the zombies faster than they can infect people." I decided it was worth being shot to turn her into a zombie, so I bit her. The police shot me in the stomach several times, but apparently this doesn't hurt zombies.

Then one of my friends, along with a scary, crazy looking distant family member of mine, rushed up the stairs to our zombie base, where all this was happening, and presumably took care of the policemen. I remember being elated that my friend had come to rescue me, but this quickly faded when he aimed a gun at my forehead, called me the rudest word in the English language (sounds rather like French for story) and shot me in the head.

Apparently, even this is not enough to kill zombies, and I was shoved into a cupboard. However, I believe being shot in the head may have turned me into a werewolf, because after being put in the cupboard, zombie was I no longer.

I then somehow teleported to some rich girl's house. Her father was some sort of captain in the navy or army, but he went missing every 28 days, most mysteriously. I pointed out to the girl that she was a werewolf, and we became werewolf lovers.

But suddenly the scary relative jumped into the house! He too was a werewolf! I tried to protect my lover from him, but he was far bigger than me. The hall, where all this took place, was full of mirrors. So I shot all the mirrors, and this somehow killed the scary relative. But it also harmed my lover - I think she may have died.

Anyway, the lover somehow disappeared and was replaced by my dad. We were on a ship off the coast of India, being chased by 3 diplomats - one was probably from China, for he was represented by a Korean friend. We shook off 2 of the men, and I shot the Korean friend in the ship's engine. Unfortunately, this caused the ship to stop working and it almost sunk, though luckily it reached Mumbai before this could happen, and I jumped off, losing my dad.

I was now alone and in the poorest part of my hometown. I went to hide, for I was still being chased, either for being a werewolf or for supporting democracy in Nepal (which the EU, US and India are all against, explaining the diplomats). So I went to hide in a house with a friendly woman.

After being in the house for a few minutes I saw a policewoman outside the kitchen window. She saw me, and I ducked quickly. But she came right up to the window. I tried to hide by going right up to the window in question and hiding behind the sink, but suddenly Kath was behind me, and saying "You're in her line of sight! You're in her line of sight!"

Too late, I ran, but the police stormed the house. I ran up the stairs into an abandoned room, broke through the window and jumped onto the roof of an opposite house.

Then it's all a blur. The next thing I remember is standing in court - but whether it was because of the secret zombie movement, being a werewolf, sinking a ship or supporting democracy, I don't know.

Right. Analyse that. :p

I had a dream, regarding a Werewolf concept of sorts (don't worry: it doesn't spoil any game).

Basically, people (and, hilariously enough, this includes Bethberry :D ) were trying to figure out who the wolves were by means of email usage. Apparently, the wolves had to email each other, and by checking the players' PCs, people could discover at least who couldn't be a wolf, as s/he hadn't used their email in days.

I was appalled by this cheating, and wrote a letter to the local rag ('The Evening Express', one of the worst things in Aberdeen). For some reason, they printed it on the back page beside the Sport headlines.

But they totally changed my letter! They put a bunch of spelling mistakes and crude phrases into it, and totally changed the point (in fact, the end-product was just a jumble of words—not at all like my posts ;) ) I was furious (because this wasn't the first time a newspaper editor had twisted my letters) and ranted and raved 'til I woke up.

I had a dream two nights ago that I received a mysterious letter in the mail and when I opened it I noticed it was from Lalwende. Apparently she tracked me down and decided to give my family and me about 10 to 15 free passes to DisneyWorld or DisneyLand. I think she even included the airfare. It was a rather pleasant dream and probably represented how I feel about most downers, but it was odd to received post from Lalwende. :)

I had a dream the other night wherein I was visiting a friend of a friend in Massachussetts. When my friend and I got there, we discovered that she wasn't at home and instead visited with her dad. On our way out, we ran into her in the front drive: Encaitare. As we were driving, we were suddenly in Vermont, much as dreams do go, and 'Cai was gone, but the phantom was there and I'm pretty sure that morm was the man behind the cash register.

I'm very worried about my subconscious...

I recently had a dream in which Saucepan Man was a ninja and Lalaith was a french maid, and they were in combat over some kind of special plant. Then I was going to take it because letting either of them have it meant the destruction of the entire world. They were about to kill me when the sherif, Eomer, showed up to break up the fight, but I had to get on a motorcycle to escape. Suddenly, Nilp was chasing me on another motorcycle that had built in machine guns. I'm pretty sure we were in Texas at the time.

Nilpaurion on motorcycle armed with machine guns = the protagonist's equal, more threatening and dangerous than SPM or Lalaith.

EDIT: Also, the fight between them started in a house with white walls and expensive furnishings, and then moved to a country road in a desert like area, where the plant was, which is when I went for it.

Death Dealer and Freedom, both very forceful, are fighting over the mysterious life symbol. Roa the protagonist takes it so that neither can get it, and gives it to the Dashing Law Figure. She makes a clean getaway from that mess by means of her greatest strengths. She has so far aligned herself with law and order. But Insanity and Chaos is just as strong as Law and Order, and is bearing down on her with death dealing capability. Watch out, honey, you're in for a ride. ..... ;)

I made a post mentioning that Numenor lay buried under central London, stretching from Piccadilly to Trafalgar Square, with its central point being under Piccadilly Circus.
Phantom and a couple of others were scathing about this, very unfairly I thought because I was being entirely canonical and had the UT quotes to prove it. While I was hunting them out, Valier posted to support me, she demonstrated my assertion was correct by use of a model made of brazil nuts and hazlenuts, a picture of which she provided in her post.
I then spent a long time walking along a snowy residential street in Calgary (a place I have never been to) looking for a unversity campus, so that I could get access to a computer to play werewolf on.

Numenor is the London Underground? :eek:

Confident fellow Barrowdowners ridicule with logic and persuasion? (that's a guess considering who)

Canonicity = authority

Valier uses nuts to build a scale model of the whole thing. Nuts = insanity, obviously.

Calgary = time zone issues?

Werewolf = fun

Numenor = the promised land ...... under London?

London = real life.

Well, "insanity" can also be construed as chaotic, not following normal patterns of logic, a more 'right brained' approach. Which fits Valier rather well, now that I've had experience of her in a certain werewolf game. ;)

Formendacil was in my dream last night, but unfortunately I didn't get to meet him. There was a large multi-religion gathering in California and my family was there on vacation so we stopped by for a short time. What happened is Formendacil gave a discourse and many people were rather impressed by it but I wasn't there at the time. I was actually napping in the hotel. When I came back my family and friends told me that Formendacil had spoken and somehow he had figured out that mormegil's family was present. That was really it though my family left me at the meeting and started driving home without me I never met Formendacil.

Getting married- freedom (moving away from parents) in service (marriage as a mutual servitude) and what I considered to be a long, thought out decision using reason (Lalaith)

Parents don't approve- Death dealer (to the marriage) is using logic and reasoning (from my dad, who kind of talks like SPM) to stop the process

So, my future is being fought over by these two forces= the plant that everyone seems to want?

I have no idea what the Eomer sherriff thing is about, except that in the past I've always done the expected thing and been the good little girl, but with a kick. (Seriously, no one out here except my closest friends would believe that I could be an evil werewolf player.)

I'm trying to escape the chaos and insanity that is surrounding this massive change, and all the uncertainty that goes with it.

Which would explain why I keep thinking that I remember my fiance on the back of the bike- we're working through the mess together.

And this is why I'm going into psychology. :D

Fascinating dreams you people have. Let's see, I don't remember all of the BD related dreams I've had lately, but the one that really stands out is one I had a couple nights ago where I dreamed that some new screennames had appeared on the 'Downs and were spamming the Mirth forum (and MW Survivor in particular) with personal attacks on me -- I don't remember what exactly now but they were posting quotes I had supposedly made which made me seem like a horrible nasty person, and ranting about how evil I am. I was extrememly upset and more than a little embarressed that I was the center of of all these flames -- I didn't even get a chance to respond to any of them, either, I had just logged on and there was such a massive amount of new posts and topics from these newbies that I couldn't even read them all. So anyway, I tried to PM Estelyn to beg her to delete all this stuff (okay, so I know B-W is the only Mirth moderator, but it was dream, not the most logical thing) but I couldn't do it because my computer started to go on the blink.

I'm not going to bother asking LMP to analyze this since I know exactly what it's about -- I've been on messageboards where that exact sort of thing happens for real. People make "alias" accounts and use them to mass attack certain people they have grudges against -- they'll dig up quotes that are years old, use them out of context, rant and rave about every little flaw or perceived flaw, hound all current posts, and generally make life on the board miserable for their target. It's particularly frustrating because you can't tell which of the regular posters owns the various aliases, though you can of course guess and surmise. I was never targetted personally, but I have gotten involved from time to time out of disgust for the whole sorry mess, which got me on their "enemies" list, apparently. They couldn't really find anything about me to effectively batter, since I wasn't the most active or easily misquoted person, but they did make a point to claim that they knew everything about me, and that I'm too young to have any real wisdom, and that I obviously think I'm smarter than everyone, and that in truth I know nothing, and so on ad nausuem, blah de blah de blah.

So I've drifted away from posting or even reading things at those boards, because it's all just too banal. In my dream, though I didn't know who owned the new accounts at the 'Downs, I was pretty sure it was those same losers somehow finding out that I was the same person, and this was vengeance for my getting involved in opposing their crusades against others. Only this time they'd actually figured out how to hit me where it hurts, by spoiling the 'Downs all because of me. (That's one of their favorite tactics -- they would cover the board in slop and when flame wars would erupt and people would complain about the unpleasantness, they'd loudly proclaim it the fault of their victim for not caving in and leaving the board.)

The abortive attempt to PM Esty was due to the fact that on these other boards the moderating is terrible (or virtually nonexistant, really). Here at the 'Downs it is wonderfully different, but in my little doomsday scenario no one was doing anything. Basically, the wonderful place that is the 'Downs was getting infected by the spawn of evil I've witnessed destroying other messageboards -- horrible, vile people and mods that do nothing about it.

And my computer, well, there's always the distinct possibility that it will go haywire at the worst possible time. :p

Ah! Finally I can post this without getting accused of wolvery in LMP's game! :D

On Night 1 in Elempi's game I had dream, that LMP's game was a RL-version of werewolf, and we had an empty city to play in. Days and Nights were the same as in RL. And each family lived in the same place.

I remember it was late night and Night was just beginning. The funniest bit was that all my family were penguins (me, Glirdy, Roa, Sleepy, Caranlodien) and Glirdy. We were in our house and we were just going to sleep. Glirdy complained because he was smaller than Sleepy and Roa. Then Roa was un-penguin (she looked like her avvie) and gave birth to a small penguin. Then we went to sleep.

I was a wolf (but in the game they were actually weresnakes) and I took our family's car and left home. Mith was the police (which was equivalent of ranger in this game) and she drove a police car. A bit strange since Mith never was in LMP's game... Then I remember the next Day I complained to LMP that it was far too easy just stay awake overNight and watch who are moving while everyone else is sleeping. And I accused morm of stalkery. :p

Well, I am on exam leave at the moment, and I thought that a great use of my time would be to go to sleep in the middle of the day. I did this and had a rather odd dream.

I dreamt that I was watching the Lord of the Rings films and the Hobbits suddenly went to Tom Bombadill's house. There was the whole tale telling and dancing from Tom and eventually the Hobbits went to the Barrow Downs. When the Barrow Wight caught Frodo I saw the inside of the Barrow, and it was filled with saucepans! :eek:

I remember turning to my brother (with whom I was dream watching it with), and said "I know what that is a reference to!

Note to self: No more cheese!

Ah... so with Wizard Werewolf finished, I can now post the most amusing 'Downs dream I've yet had and not worry about influencing the game.

I dozed quietly in the village. In my sleep, I was turned into a Seer. Immediately, without even waking, I dreamt of Roa, spotting her pure evil. I woke up and lynched her without difficulty given that Gurthang knew I was his Seer and Nilp knew as well, and so I had two definitive innocents on my side.

What they didn't know is that with Roa's death, I turned into a werewolf. Hiding behind the trust of the Good Wizard, I ruthlessly slaughtered the entire village with the help of Eomer who I sacrificed last. Nobody ever suspected a thing.

Analyze that. :)

Recently I have dreamt about Fea, Encai and LMP.

Firstly, I dreamt that I was cycling with somebody or other down a hill. Fea was on the pavement with her three (for some reason) brothers and a small grizzly dog downhill from us and coming up towards us. We decided for some reason to swerve around Fea by going on the road - perhaps because she had a dog (playing in a puddle) and I'm afraid of them. Perhaps I was avoiding her for some reason.

Then I dreamt of Encai in the same night. She was in England and wandering about, so I said she could come and stay with me. Unfortunately, I didn't plan this with my parents. She declined, but I checked out my garage to see if she could stay there anyway just in case she changed her mind.

Then I dreamt of Fea again. We were cycling together and we followed some Asian (in the British sense) guy to a shop selling Indian/Pakistani goods. I can't remember much else, except that she knew the guy and went off somewhere with him to discuss something or maybe get some rare ingredient. Meanwhile, I was left alone with my bike in the shop.

I have a vague recollection of Fea being my cycling partner in the first dream, but this doesn't make sense, as it was definitely her that we swerved around. Perhaps this is Pro-active interference.

I don't remember my LMP dream, but I think he was dressed as the Anakronist.

It seems that Barrow-Downs dreams haunt me...

I had a dream that I, Nogrod and my little sister were going to an Iittala glass factory and Nogrod suggested we should take spawn with us. I said my sister wouldn't like it, since then we would only speak of BD.

Then, in another dream, Roa wanted to write a book about the Dueling Wizards WW. Because she wanted to set in a fantasy world of her own, she wanted to change some names and changed my name to Victoria. I was so angry with her, because in the dream I hated the name.

Weird.

I don't know what I can analyse from the first one, but the second dream points to that I unconsciously hold a grudge to Roa and her evil teammates from winning the game... :p

Usually I don't dream a whole lot, or at least I don't remember my dreams. But, I think was in shock of my early exit from Kath's game, I ended up having a dream over it.

In my dream, after I was lynched in the village, I kept on posting, even if I was dead. And Kath just let me continue posting, because I was posting stuff like "This is the ghost of Boromir who has come back to inform you that I know who the wolves are...etc" and wierd stuff like that. It was bizarre. :rolleyes:

The same way I knew it was Saucepan Ninja and Lalaith the French Maid and Eomer the Sheriff and Nilp in a full face bike helmet- we just kind of know. In the dream it's obvious. They didn't even look like their avatars. Dream logic, you know?

Well, here's my first ever Barrowdowns Dream post. I don't know if it's strictly my first BD Dream, but I'm pretty sure it's the first time I've posted about it. It's not really anything specatular though. :rolleyes: I was taking a nap a couple hours ago and this is how it went:

I was sitting in my room, and the phone rings. I pick it up and it's Oddwen. I think that's pretty crazy and am at a complete loss for words. I guess she was just saying 'hey' really quick for no apparent reason, and I had no idea what to say. Anyway, when I got control of my voice I asked how she got my number and apparently I had PMed it to her. Then it got really... awkward. I seem to remember, in my dream, that I was trying to strike up a conversation and getting the feeling that she really didn't want to have a conversation with me. :(

And yeah, that's it. Weird. :smokin:

I had the most bizarre dream last night. It's slightly more LotR related than Downs related but even so.

We went to Iceland again but this time there was a new attraction. You could go inside a Balrog (please don't ask how you actually got in, I'm not sure I want to think about that). Anyway inside this Balrog there is no gravity so you float around, and you float through various tunnels to get around and there are all these things you can do. In one tunnel, you get to experience a Balrog roar (apparently they do this) and you can feel all the vibrations. Then there's another bit where it's like a giant water slide (yes, inside the Balrog) with a log blockade at the bottom. Also in one 'room' there are jets of air that if you float over them push you up really fast. Loads of other things too but those are the only ones I really remember.

So anyway, I'm in Iceland about to get into this Balrog and there before me are lmp and Fea. So we all say 'hi' and 'what a coincidence' and things along those lines. Then we get into the Balrog and immediately float away along different tunnels. We all meet up again at the top of the water slide thing and Fea is trying to climb over the barrier between the slide with water on and the slide without because she thinks Formendacil is over there and he shouldn't be left on his own.

Managing to persuade her that this is very unlikely she gives up and off we all go to the roar tunnel (lmp did very convincing imitations all the way through as I recall).

The dream just sort of continued on in this vein for a while. We had a lot of fun! I was sorely disappointed when I woke up and realised that it hadn't happened.

Had a dream last night...I apparently was surfing a Canadian body-builder site, where Canadians would post pictures of their muscled selves, and I came upon a picture of Glirdan. He was sooooo skinny and soooooo pale, so I convinced him that that site wasn't the best place for him...and promptly put my picture up, and all the Downers were entranced by my muscled biceps (which I don't have).

I had a weird dream last night too. I can't remember much of it. All I can recall is that there was some recording device attached to the Downs so that people could record messages and speak to each other. For some reason, Formendacil had left his running unintentionally and then inadvertently sent the message to me. The message solely comprised "um's" and "ah's" and the occasional creak of a chair ...

I dreamt that I got a rep that simply said "Yar ha ha! Yo ho ho!" so I went around trying to find out who had given he this odd rep. It turned out to be from a user simply called "Pirate".

I had a dream that there was a huge larp (live action role playing game) set in the middle ages and a lot of 'downers were playing in it. I played a middle-aged widowed noblewoman and I had a black gown. Lhuna was playing my daughter and she had similar gown to mine, but it was the same colour as her avvie's background. (Sorry Mith for stealing your child. :p) I remeber that Fea was a widowed noblewoman too, but she was young. And Ang was a monk and morm was a common guardsman. Make of that what you will...

I think I can take this one. Dreams use common elements in our everyday lives as representations for subconcious element. (Ie, Nilp represents Chaos, Spm represents my dad, etc....) The fact that you have not dreamed of any downers makes it clear that you do not equate any downers with elements in your evryday life. You haven't yet become wholly involved in the Downs. You should stop with your silly "life" and join us completely.

I'd like to resurrect an old dream & have the famous Dr. Dream analyze it for er...Oddwen. And maybe me, just a little bit... ;)

Alright...last night I dreamed I went to work (BK), and I punched in, and my manager Mary was showing me the schedule, but right next to it this new topic on the BD's opened up. I can't remember what it was called, but I remember the third post was by this unregistered user named something like "unbalthawen".

Two posts later, the user had registered, and was saying something like "The Only Real Estel and Oddwen are the rockingest people on the planet and I only like them, but Oddwen, I've been to Holland and I don't think I should associate with you."

Then people I didn't recognize started joining in and saying how awesome I was and how much they adored me. (Malkatoj may have been one of these.)

It was a quite possibly the best dream I've ever had. :p Although it was starting to get quite sad, as the posts got more and more off-topic and I felt the BW was going to close it soon.
But I've never been to Holland. :confused:

I had an odd one last night...

I made a post in here about a dream that was about Werewolf. Someone with a screenname a lot like Encaitare (though it wasn't that exactly, and I'm not sure if it was supposed to even be Encaitare or what) posted a really short, somewhat rude comment right after. So I was a bit miffed, but then TORE posted saying how that was rather rude of her, so I felt better, and decided not to post anything in reply.

I wish I could remember all of TORE's post, because it went from saying "That was rather rude" to something about holding a sword that slew something or other and then you'd be able to walk a mile in my shoes. Or something. I remembered all the posts exactly when I woke up after the dream, but then I fell back asleep and the specifics got lost. :rolleyes:

Oddwen, that's... interesting. I have never, nor do I ever plan on, working at a hospital. But a friend of mine who is an author did once put a character in her story that was named Sarah and was a nurse, and she was supposedly modelled after me.

No really, as far as my dream of Oddwen, I can definitely think of people who treat me like that. Not that Oddwen treated me badly... in my dream I mean... oh, you know what I mean. You're obviously psychic. You see, I happen to know that Diamond18 is a buxom nurse who looks like Daffy Duck. And Lalwendë isLeroy Brown (makes you wonder about that marriage to davem, now don't it?)

But seriously: hospitals are places of healing and Diamond18 is bigger (in your estimation) than she claims to be. And she's funny in a, well, daffy way. All of which makes her a healer. I haven't the foggiest on Lal. Not enough info, deary.

But I've never been to Holland. A mixture of very good and very sad, actually. There's a similarity in spelling between Holland and Oddwen, in a weird way, but that's what dreams are about. Basically Unbalthawen is saying you're cool but not enough for me to meet you. That might explain the 'Un'. That's my best stab. TORE, I haven't the foggiest idea what it means about you. It most likely depends on what Oddwen associates you with.

Except for one possibility, which reading Diamond's dream brought to mind. "The Only Real Estel" = the only real hope. We all know that. So whenever you're in a BDer's dream, unless they know you REAL well, there's this "deepest hope of the heart" element in it. Which makes me think about how the only dream I ever had, had TORE in it too! :eek:

Ouch. Dr. Dream has a headache after all that. Unpaid, no less. Grrr.

Here's a weird dream...

I was back in the high school I attended in 11th grade. BW and SpM were two of the teachers. (They weren't fighting. ;)) I got sent by one of them (I forget which) to welcome guests to the school, who turned out to be Bethberry and Mithalwen. We went to the auditorium - inexplicably connected to the kitchen of a house I lived in 10 years ago that's actually a good 3000 miles from the HS - and listened to them give a lecture. Which I couldn't hear, and when I could hear it, I couldn't understand because it was in an unidentifiable foreign language. Other Downers (sorry, I can't remember who), were also in the audience and looked very intent on listening. At the end, everyone cheered.

I also had a dream that various moderators PMed me for being off topic and a general nuisance on the forums. I was threatened with being banned if I didn't behave myself. :eek:

I think I figured out why it was Enca (or something like Enca's sn) who posted rudely in my dream. Her avatar says "Get lost." :p It's the only thing I can think of, since I can't think of any other reason why she'd play such a role. I have always loved that avatar, but apparently my subconcious finds it rude. :p

I dreamt about Formendacil.

My family were on holiday with him. We all had this suite in a hotel with a shared living room and separate rooms. When we got there, I think there was some kind of ancient riddle on parchment...

My family and I went out to socialise with the other hotel guests downstairs. I came up in the middle of the night, I forget why, to find three of the windows open. I can't remember whether Form was in or not, but I remember being certain that he'd somehow been transported to the 12th Century and had had amazing adventures. The air smelt different - it was heavy, almost magically scented. Furthermore, each of the three windows blew in different smelling air. I've forgotten one, I think one may have been an earthy scent, and the other was definitely rain.

These different air currents - each beautiful in its own right - were definitely related to Form's adventures in Medieval Europe. I closed each of the windows, having difficulty with the last, rainy one, before going down.

When I came up again with my family, heavy curtains were drawn across all the windows, shutting out all outside light. In fact, they may have been tapestries. I can't remember what Form was doing - I think he was shut in his room. But something magical, or Faerie, as our Dr. Dream would say, was definitely going on in our suite.

Unfortunately, I don't remember anything in detail, like what Form did, what he said, etc. It all comes down to wonderful magical feelings, really.

So... LMP? Influences: I've been reading about Medieval Europe. I've been thinking about Form a lot - I want to ask if he's sane or not.

TGWBS, I think your dream is almost completely a processing of your recent conversations with Formy and your desire for things mythical and beyond the mundane and/or present. That Formy goes and you don't, especially suggests the desire for something Formy has but you don't. You can sense it but you can't go there....

I think I've got it...overcome with jealousy over Nilp and Lhuna's adoption of Mith as their Downsian mother (funny, I've always considered her a sister!), with devastated tears I dreamt up a suitable alternative:

Diamond18 is my Mother Figure.

Nurse = motherly concern
Funny = love and ease
Buxom = umm...nourishing

And I think she's older than me...by a couple of months?

So. I'm not sure if I should be admitting this in front of God and everyone, but I had a strange dream last night in which I was reading ATM2 and I came across a post by Eomer which was rather a bit close to being tawdry and, well, R-rated. In the post, Aimé visited a brothel. It was rather reminiscent of a sequence in Monty Python and the Holy Grail... the temptation of what's-his-face, the chaste knight. Only Aimé didn't take much tempting. I read it and thought, "Ha ha, Eomer's gonna get banned."

I guess it's about time to say my dream. A few RL days into Kath's game I dreamt that it was reduced to a mere show of hands. Everyone was seated in a circle, with some on the floor and some on a sofa. "Who thinks Durelin (she's the only person mentioned that I can remember) is a werewolf, raise your hands," Kath said, and a few hands were raised. I saw nothing more - nothing about Night roles and wolf conversations and actual lynchings. For that last one, I don't think my mum (real mum, not Mith) would have allowed anyone to splatter blood all over our living room, anyway. :D

Actually, I think it was slightly influenced by being jealous that so many other people kept having BDer dreams and mine seemed to have stopped. They used to be something quite particular to me.

Maybe I'm merely jealous nobody is testing me for insanity.

Not sure I would be terribly keen either, my darling, fanged fur-baby .... the cream carpet has coped with its share of red wine and black coffee spillages over the years ... but blood is a real pain to get out. Much better to do the actual slaughtering in the bathroom... yes I have been watching too much Suburban Shootout..... :D

Oddone - don't be jealous... I'd love you to be my sister, my own one is quite hideous so I will happily trade her in for someone who actually likes me. I don't have many close relatives so I am really touched to have an expanding cyber family :D

There was a big notice on the forum's main page saying that the 'Downs was permanently closed and would never reopen. I remember crying a lot in the dream. The eerie thing is that when I woke up, I had tears in my eyes and all over my face. The dream must have gotten to me so much that I actually cried while I was asleep. It was probably the second saddest dream I've ever had, after the dream I had where my brother died.

A few weeks ago, I dreamt that I got a text message from LMP. I was in a parking lot somewhere when it came, and I remember wondering how he had gotten my phone number. The message turned out to just be notifying me that LMP had PMed me.

I had this last dream several months ago. In it, Kitanna and Firefoot had decided to join my robotics team. It was right before we were supposed to leave for Chicago for our competition and someone had decided that it would make more sense for them to come to Madison and stay here the night before, rather than just going to Chicago (which would be a lot closer in RL), so I decided that they would say at my house the night before setting off for Chicago. I think there might have been more to the dream, but that's all I remember of it now.

Anyone is free to analyse these in any way they see fit!

Man, I had this all typed up then forgot to save it when I decided not to post it until getting permission. Maybe I can recall it all....

I was back in the high school I attended in 11th grade. BW and SpM were two of the teachers. (They weren't fighting.) I got sent by one of them (I forget which) to welcome guests to the school, who turned out to be Bethberry and Mithalwen. We went to the auditorium - inexplicably connected to the kitchen of a house I lived in 10 years ago that's actually a good 3000 miles from the HS - and listened to them give a lecture. Which I couldn't hear, and when I could hear it, I couldn't understand because it was in an unidentifiable foreign language. Other Downers (sorry, I can't remember who), were also in the audience and looked very intent on listening. At the end, everyone cheered.

BW & SPM: authority figures
welcoming: you represent education

Rather sad. Here's a place with all kinds of potential and you're even a model student there (sent to welcome). Educational and nourishing but stuff is being tuaght that you can't hear most of, and when you can, it's in a language you don't know. Missing out on something really worthwhile. Reminds me of the "missing categories in the mind" theory of knowledge: There are some Barrowdowns - perhaps Tolkienian - things that your dream-self is missing out on. Deep dream.

I had a dream that it was my school's spring celebration and my class had to make plays in groups of four, the title being "werewolf". All I remeber about the show is that there were people dressed up as lions dancing and in the ww-plays the wws wore a black wolf-suits. They were actually nearly cute. Unfortunately I can't remember anything of the actual ww-playes, except that I got to be a tree in an other group's play...

I once read something about Mordor vs. the Flood, and I pretty much imagined the result being a distorted Sauron inside a flood blob. I guess this is where the dream came from. The dream was funny nonetheless.

In my dream, I drove soberly for four companions very remarkably less so. Upon my discovery of a herd of deer in the middle of the road I was on, with headlights half-blinding me in my rear view, a bear arrived.

I had been on the 'downs whole night though I was supposed to clean my room. I was playing survivor, if I remember correctly. Then, I didn't have time to clean and went to sleep without doing that. When I woke up at morning, I had got an SMS. It said "I sent paavo to clean up your room. Have a nice day. See you in the 'downs. Cheers, Anguirel." My phone said that the number where the SMS was from was just 30. Nothing else. I was left wondering how Ang knew my phone number and how had paavo got in so that no one had noticed.

Now, the headlight in the rearview mirror could be blocked by merely putting a hand in the way. Did you do that? Whether you did or not, the situation from the past still is powerful enough to cause your perceptions of what's before you to be altered.

But the bear is seen massacring the deer regardless of the glare of headlights. The killer is animal, the victims are animal. What does the driver think of this?

Here's the important thing: whatever terrible thing that is going on, represented by the deer massacre, has caused your life (you driving the car) to stop moving forward. There's confusion, but it's subdued. Enough. That's all I can come up with. Have fun with it.

In RL I flicked the rear view over a bit so that I couldn't see behind me with it, but I also wasn't blinded. In the dream, I did nothing.

This driver gets vaguely queasy at the thought of violence, especially toward anyone or anything unable to help itself, and does not tolerate it in her presence.

I just dream that I was back in a hostel in Rio where I was sitting at a desk. On this desk I find a note to me from Gothmog, this note looks just like those witch you get when you buy internet time. It has some big capital letter (normally a code) and some smaller, normal ones right beneath them (normally saying how much time you have bought). This time however it says that I have been banned from the BD for using obscene language! It even have 21 examples of me doing so. I really don't know how there can be so much writing in just to small lines. . . .

Then I remember beeing verry ubset, not beeing told this before.

I had the most bizarre dream the other night.

Mithalwen and I were discussing Jane Austen and Anthony Trollope heroines and trying to decide which one would make a good Arwen, Galadriel, etc. We bogged down over agreement on whether Miss Bates would make a good Ioreth. In fact, things got so heated that, erm, *cough*, a mud wrestling exchange broke out. At the loud and boisterous sounds of BDers hooting and hollaring their raucous cheering for various sides, I woke up! :eek: :(

Two interesting dreams, one from last night about Feanor and maybe the phantom, one from the night before about morm and LMP and a bit of Fea. Oh, and half an extra dream on LMP.

Firstly, morm, LMP and I were playing a board game. It was a rectangular board, with squares all the way round like a monopoly board, but plainer. LMP rolled a two, went first, and got six men to put on a square. His were black, I believe, and may have been orcs. I only got three, mine were red. Morm also got five or six after that, and his were black.

We played a bit, but then morm and LMP had a massive argument about some sort of rule. They both walked off in a strop.

I reconciled them by shouting at them about how stupid they were being. I pointed out that they were two of the cleverest Barrow Downers and they were arguing over an infantile game - pointing to the box cover, with ages 3-5 years written on it.

I got them to make up, but then Fea came onto the scene. She said I'd dealt with them all wrong. I'd put too much emphasis on flattery - telling them how clever they were - and that it would be better to emphasise their idiocy.

Then we all sat around and talked. We discussed dinosaurs, and I said I did a good diplodocus impression. I didn't want to do it in front of LMP and morm because I thought it would be too embarassing, but then I did it anyway.

All of which tells me I fear looking juvenile around the more seniour BDers. Which is piffle, of course, because otherwise Mew wouldn't be in my avatar, and I wouldn't advertise my Peter Pan Complex. Who knows, maybe subconsciously I want to be taken more seriously?

My next half-dream was, I believe, unconnected to the above, though I dreamt it the same night. LMP had basically completely vandalised and trashed a train so it was taken off the rails. Naughty man.

Next is the Fea dream. She came to England for five days. She came and visited my house to say hi to me, which was cool. She also met my dad, though initially I hid her from him, as he didn't know she was here or who she was.

After that, we went in a car with her friend from America and two other people - one may have been the phantom - to a car garage. We needed tokens for the car to be fixed, and her friend gave us envelopes. We opened them, but we didn't have adequate tokens.

Then tp (if it was him) pulled out a special token. For some reason it was controversial as it gave him some sort of power over us, but it was necessary for the car to be fixed or whatever was happening.

Then I remember Fea and friend deciding to drive up to Nottingham for a party as it was cheaper than London for a night out.

The last part reflects my thoughts on Uni, and the tokens reflects Subway tokens my friends are all obsessed with - get 6 tokens and you get a subway for a quid. The rest is probably 'cos I talk to Fea too much.

My dream last night involved the Downs for a bit. In the first part I was trying to scale these walls and obstacles, I think it was in a forest. I don't remember it very well, though. The part I remember most distinctly is that Saucie showed up in a later part of the dream where were were in some fancy place all dressed up. Of course, Saucie looked nothing like himself, he had very white hair and looked rather haggard and quite unshaven. But it was him all the same.

Basically I dreamt that I dreamt a dream with weird Celtic imagery involving the Triple Goddess in the form of Diamond, Fea and Jenny, woke up (still in the dream) and decided to submit it to the Barrow-Downs, but then got distracted and swanned about in London for a bit. Then I really woke up.
Oooh...omnipotence and omniscience!

So I've got that going for me...which is nice.

Interesting that the three of us are getting grouped together. (Anyone else seeing a wolf-team?)

Today, while taking an afternoon sleep (to put off doing revision for a few more minuets) I had an odd dream that has me rather unnerved. I dreamt that I received a PM from the Barrow Wight saying "Your services will no longer be required" and then my account was closed and all my posts deleted. I then found a thread named "petition to get rid of Hookbill" signed by a good many Downers I did not recognise (and some I did ).

Am I going (further) insane? :confused:Nah. A simple nightmare. Fear of ..... life? Since this is a place where you're dead? Or maybe fear of death? You decide. *Dr. Dream shrugs*

I was very good at impersonating the former, and still do a mean "big cat" impression, with the shoulder-movement during stalking and all.

However, I don't remember ever impersonating dinosaurs, as we don't really know how they moved.

In the dream, I think I just got on all fours and stretched my neck out as far as possible whilst making a "mhhhhoooooo" noise.

This night I dreamt that I was to meet Abers in Skovlunde, Denmark. I knew that she was due to arrive a day before we were going to meet. I decide to send her an SMS and to do that I have to go into a phone booth next to the train station, just I have send it a person looks down on me from the station and cries out "Abercrombie of Rohan !" I of cours goes to check out who this person is. It turns out to be on of Abers friends who looks very much like JennyHallu, she tells me that I am allowed to say hello to Abers, but that is that. The reason she gives me is that her and some others have arranged a party for Abers and her boyfriend is going to show up as a supprise. Apparently Abers will go crazy when she see him and therefor I cannot be there.

I had a dream last night in which LMP and I sat in a small cafe (I'm going to assume it was actually a Starbucks given my addiction to their vanilla lattes (extra vanilla) and the fact that I had one). We discussed RPs and writing and I came to the realization that I've written with him in five out of my six (counting the Eorling Mead Hall/White Horse Inn) and am about to start another.

And then we were working on a series of posts for what was labelled Tapestry of Dreams but didn't follow the story line at all. You know how in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry is writing in Tom's diary one minute and is inside of it watching the action the next? That happened. Only we were both inside watching AND outside writing it all. It was downright cool, being in two places at once.

Helen showed up, but she was actually Child, and told us that she loved the new plot twist.

And then, of course, I woke up and thought I was running late, only to realize that my clock isn't accurate. :rolleyes:

Either before or after that, I think I had a dream with Lushie in it. I'll be switched if I know what it was about, but she was there. Actually, it might be to do with having been invited to stay with a friend in Durham and Di telling me I ought to visit Lush while I'm there.

Hmm. LMP was in more than one dream last night.

I only remember a brief snippet. One of my sisters was singing "Der Erlkönig" with me. We alternated verses, and I think I had the parts of the child and Erlkönig while she sang the father and narrator. LMP was playing the piano. Every once in a while, everyone would switch parts, and I wound up on the piano while LMP and sis sang for a bit. Then LMP and I sang, and my sister played the piano.

No audience. Just a typical university practice room/classroom with an upright piano, music stands and desks.

Very interestingly, there was something about a coffee house too, with lots of big picture windows with white cursive writing on them (backwards, of course, since we were inside) and round, white tables and chairs, but I don't remember how that worked, other than the setting. Fortunately, I don't think we were singing there. :D Osanwe again?

I also had a BD dream last night.

I received my most recent role for WW and was the seer, but then Boromir sent a PM to Guinevere and H-I telling them their wolfish strategy to begin the game. For some reason Boro included me. I ended up publically withdrawing from the game because otherwise the game would be over. Mith was the moderator and everybody was there in person plus a guy or two from my work.

No great surprise that a game moderated by me might have trouble with its non-ordos ..... I don't have to be asleep to have nightmares about MM1 ...and am forever grateful for the good nature of my players. That said, bringing Gil back from the dead is possibly my favourite post of my own.....

And another LMP dream, courtesy of a cold virus inspired nap this afternoon.

I was sitting on the computer reading the Downs when a window popped up from AIM saying that I had a message from littlemanpoet. The pop-up asked if I wanted to accept the message. Of course I did, and a discussion of plans for ATM II (pretty much the same as we've been discussing via PM) followed.

Pretty straightforward since it was very close to what we've been chatting about by PM, and the only change was that the conversation was held on IM rather than the Downs...

In fact, the only non-realistic portion of this dream is that a glance at LMP's profile tells me that he's on Yahoo, not AIM, so real IMs wouldn't come through the AIM software.

Not quite a dream, but it goes with the idea of the Downs seeping into aspects of RL: as I was reading HP, I accidentally read "Luna" as "Lhuna"... although I know our dear Hauntress of the Havens is hardly like the character.
I said "My, and I don't even read HP! :eek:" days short of a year ago, but now I know better.

After Werewolf VII and all those fun stuff, would you still say it's no coincidence that she's Luna and I'm Lhuna? :D

To be on-topic, I don't know if this counts as a dream - I barely remember my dreams as a rule - but I thought Fea should already have filled in her save for Roggie and Alli in ATM2, which is certainly not the case as I type this. It's scary.

I had a dream wherein the phantom lived in a house in my area (this house doesn't exist, by the way). The house was full of zombies locked in crypts decorated with yin yangs and had the most brilliant uber-high tower filled with baddies that I was trying to secretly fight without disrupting the festivities.

You see, the phantom was having a birthday party for his grandmother and neither of them were actually there, but the guests (and there were a lot of them, including my entire family that was very put out that I kept disappearing into the haunted house for no apparent reason, and surely, Fea, fighting zombies isn't important enough to miss the party)...

Somehow the house was connected to a grocery store, but only if you went in through the back, and then Laura Bush was chasing me. :eek:

It was a reeeeeeeeeeeeeeally weird dream, come to think of it.

I had a dream several nights ago that I've been trying to remember. Thus far, all I can salvage was this:

There were three of us, and we were standing. The room wasn't well lit, and my companions were older than me; men. I suspect that there may have been a hearth fire. I stood by, not overly active in the conversation; or perhaps I had been, but now listened to what they had to say. It pertained to me, so I was interested. The older man said something and Kuruharan spoke in my favor. He wore a waistcoat; strange that I should remember that detail.

Wish I knew what it was, and why Kuru was speaking for me... I'm so fascinated by my own admittedly odd dreams...

I've been hoping and hoping to have a Downs dream for quite a while, and I finally had one a week and a half ago. :)

I was sure I'd have a dream involving Werewolves, and that Fea, SPM, Di, Spawn, Boro, Kuru, morm, and a few other WW regulars would show up.

But it wasn't like that at all. It was weird.

In my dream, I was on a computer at my school logged in on a website with a bunch of my RL friends and we were IMing, and then this message popped up that I had been added as a friend by some girl named Veronica. There was a picture of a blonde girl next to her name and I knew that I'd seen her before, but I didn't know who she was. Then I looked down the row from me in the computer lab and saw her sitting there.

I asked her why she had added me, and she said "Phantom, you dummy- it's me, Lush." And I said, "No, your name is Natalia," but she answered with something like "Yes, yes, but it's also Veronica." And for some reason, my dream-self thought that her answer somehow made sense.

So then I asked her if there were any more Downers on the site, and she said, "No, there are only Russians on this site." I told her that it wasn't true because my friends on that site didn't live in Russia, but she said something like "How do you know they didn't move from Russia?" Now, none of them did move from Russia, but in my dream I didn't know that for sure, so I figured that all my friends must have moved from Russia. (I'm not sure why I didn't ask her about why I was a member of the site)

So anyway, yeah... really strange.
and then Laura Bush was chasing me
Not as weird as that though.

Though I have had a dream in which the Bush twins chased me, and I let them catch me of course. :p

I woke up this morning remembering two dreams about fellow downers, now I can only remember one and that makes me sad. . .

For some reason I decide to go to Paris. In Paris I find this Hostel who apparently is also The Barrow-Downs Head Quater! But I am told that I cannot stay/get a room there unless I go to the Super Market and buy what ever grosserys the HQ kitchen needs. I then go out into the kitchen where I meet Abercrombie, she tells that she only arrived a few days ago and do not know what is needed. I then look into the fridge, wich only contains one giant piece of pastry. The pastry has a note saying "Abercrombie" on it. Abercrombie insists that she did not buy it, but Estelyn did. Apparently Estelyn does all the shopping for BD HQ and I have to talk to her. . .

After this it becomes blurry and I only remember bits.

Okay, I had a really odd one last night.

Well, it started off with me making a mental picture of what was happening in The Darker Days RPG. I saw (if you've been following or for the players of the game) the fire, the man on the ground with Elfride (Mithalwen) and Mayonnette (Crystal Heart), Léoflic (me) running towards the fire with the men to douse it, Thomas (Witch_Queen) at the top of the hill, Hama (Hama of the RiddermarK) and Edhener (Dimutriel) trying to put out the fire and Cordelia (Cordelia Harrison) and Garnae (The Sixth Wizard) on the ground as well.

Then, for some wierd reason, my dream shifted to me and my family. It was kind of like the Shinning where the father is trying to kill his family. The wierd part is that my father was Saucy!! :eek:

It was really wierd... Dr. Dream? Help!!!

A while back now, I dreamt I went to the Phantom's house. I can't remember the reason, I think it had something to do with him borrowing something mine. Anyway...
At his house I discovered that there was an Alien living in his loft. Phantom was very annoyed by the Alien and was continuously trying to get rid of it with a large stick. This became the inspiration to The Downer's weekly comic "The Phantom and Alien".

Still, it was an odd occurrence.

I dreamt I was standing in the enclosure where Tolkien kept his bins. Now, they had been replaced by the modern black, green and brown bins of Britain. I can't remember what I was doing there (what can you do in a small fenced bin enclosure?) but Sleepy was there working out.

The weird thing was, I couldn't see him. I just knew he was there. There wasn't even room to work out in the bin enclosure.

I'll go lie down now, shall I?

There were several BDers and some real life friends of mine in this really big room that looks like it's part of a department store. While I was looking inside a glass cabinet at something on display, Fea approached me to tell me that Alli had become an integral part of her, and somehow that was my fault. She wasn't blaming me; she even seemed happy about it. But I didn't catch any of what she said other than "Alli."

Then Fea disappeared in a manner that happens only in dreams, and I had to look for her to clarify what she just told me. I walked along the hallway towards the other side of the really big room, which looked more like a dormitory. I saw Enca about to enter one of the smaller rooms, one which I knew was where she, Fea, and some other female BDers (I think) stayed.

Upon opening the door, she suddenly shrieked, "Fea!"

I was afraid that something bad happened to Fea so I screamed as well, then asked Enca what it was.

"She's alive!" she said.

So I had two dreams about a week ago, and have only just got round to writing them up. Details will be missing. They are no longer in my brain.

The first dream involves a certain Feanor. I climbed up some stairs and entered some university dorms. They were empty, other than a bed and some very sparse furnishings. I was confused. Where was Fea?

I think a girl may have led me into the room next door, though it is possible I went myself. This too was frighteningly empty.

The third room contained Feanor. It also contained lots and lots of other female uni students. They were all cowering, crunched up in balls on the floor. They seemed to be awaiting something terrible. I don't remember what.

The next dream contains Formendacil. I was in San Francisco. I have never been to this city before. The dream version was extremely futuristic and clean; there seemed to be a lot of young emo skater guys, from what I can remember.

Scientists in the city had just discovered four genes that proved that women were not natural creatures - they had been engineered. Along comes Form, who fills the religious father figure archetype in my mind, despite his age. I can't remember what he said. Probably something religious. :D I think he had a few brothers round him.

So, there you go. Ponder into my mind if you so will. Do not expect to find much therein in the way of logic.

Formy said, "women are evil". And the girls were cowering at you because you would become one of the futuristic scientists. This is obviously a dream about you having power over girls because of your superior intellect and thus your ability to manipulate women who are basically manipulable anyway to those who are technicians of the female machine. :p

And now the females who read this will become extremely insulted and react in an overly emotional way, thinking up various verbal derogations to hurl in the general direction of manhood. And of course, having been called out for what they were ready to do, will be flummoxed and forced to think instead of just feel. :p
