Maybe it isn't necessarily realted to the Barrowdowns, but it's still pretty cool... I dreamt that:

I was in a store looking at a poster (http://www.tlotr.com/film_pictures/nazgul_inarow.jpg) when it suddenly started moving. The horses hooves started galloping and so forth, when all of a sudden a tenth nazgul came in the picture. Except he didn't necessarily look like a nazgul, because he was sort of sillier, I don't really know how to describe it. It was like he didn't take his job as a wraith of Sauron very seriously. Well, then the names of all the nazgul starting popping up over their heads in little speech bubbles; Witch-king of Angmar etc. Until it came to the tenth nazgul and his bubble said Skippy the Nazgul (http://forum.barrowdowns.com/member.php?u=1088).

Well, I was throughly impressed with that dream and remians to this day, my very favorite.

Isn't it obvious, Eomer? It means that deep down inside, you are striving to impress, but don't necessarily feel like you are succeeding. That, and that you are secretly a pirate. Argh, me matey, and all that. Plus, in the deepest recesses of your mind, you are a raccoon. The first is a bit of a stretch, I'll admit, but the second two should be obvious to all. :p

Hmm...last night I dreamed that there was a two minute walk between my brother's Arby's and a really cool lampwork bead store...but between the two, there was this dumpster and Nilpaurion Fegalund kept jumping out to talk to me...heh.

Actually, what happened was I created a spell that lets me sneak into your dreams. Gotcha! :p

I'm positive I've had dreams about the 'Downs before, but my dreams tend to fade away quickly and I don't remember them for long.

Just the other day, I had a dream that there was a new thread on the Barrow-Downs. The thread was entirely devoted to people having dreams about other members. Yeah, I know- kind of weird and far out there. I was getting pretty scared but then I woke up and I was like "Whew- it was just a dream."

I can't say that I've ever had a BD dream (though I had a dream of meeting someone from the forum on my website once). I have had LOTR dreams, but it has been a while. That's not to say that there wasn't something once that I don't remember. My dreams are so far out there that I can't even tie together what had happened in them. I find, though, that I dream most vividly when I'm sick and on cold medicine... perhaps tonight shall be fun (if I have a BD dream I'm surely post it).
Plus, since I'm making the new picture page, many of your faces are more familiar in my head now... before that was not the case.

Quite a while ago, before the forum software changed, I had a dream that I got 10 PMs (the limit back then) all at once. That was pretty much all there was to the dream, which is rather odd, since my dreams tend to be rather long and complicated.

I honestly don't remember. It could have been anything from me getting you lynched, to our "marriage" and the children I never knew I had, to you viciously killing me. Or it might not have been you at all. I hate it when I can't remember dreams.

Okay, last night was really wierd.

I had a dream where I took a boat across an inlet, and it was rather sunny. I was wearing a dark purple cloak ( in such heat I have no reason why!), and there were no oars, or oar rings. The boat just glided to some island. It was in complete shade, and looked like a mole on the lake's face. So, i decided since it was hot out, and I was apparently stupid enough to dress foolishly for it, I decided to get out and go onto the island. When I was under the shade, BW came out and told me to go away because I was not properly dressed for the 'occasion'. I gave him a puzzled look, and asked what occasion it could possibly be. All he did was give a 'humpt' and stamped off shaking his head. Then, I sat on the shore and stared out at the water. Then the dream ends.

I'm guessing it's a reminder to not wear dark clothing in warm weather, but it hasn't been sunny out for about a month now where I live. Very confusing... :(

falling into an abbys and then i hit the ground and there is a barrowwright he starts tickleing me (i am very tickleish) and we start laughing and then he pulls out a ciggarette and starts smoking... and then says " I am so rude would you like a ciggarette." alarm clock rang right then. :mad:

It means that after looking at my B.S. first interpretation, I realized that it ended up sounding far too high-brow and intellectual (and worst of all, possibly somewhat accurate) so I offset it with some humor. The pirate one should be obvious, because as we all know, Eomer is a kilt-toting swash-buckling scaliwag. The second... just me goofing off. There's a trick that I wish people would learn... never take anything I say seriously, or personally.

Considering that I've been playing werewolf here on the Downs as well as watching "Van Helsing", "Underworld", "Buffy", and "Angel" these past few weeks, I can't believe that I haven't had a single werewolf dream. I really want to have one. I love dreams.

A while ago, I had a dream in which I was at a medieval kind's court, and The Barrow Wight (All ghost like and green) was chasing The Saucepan Man with a knife. The King seemed to be amused by this.

That reminds me that I did once have a dream with the Saucepan Man in it. Problem with my dreams though...I never remember them. :rolleyes:

I love dreams.

I'm beginning to hate dreams, because I had an awful nightmare a few nights ago that left me terrified to go back to sleep. The Barrow-Wight wasn't terrorizing me in it, though, unlike the dreams of certain others. ;) Funny that he's in so many people's dreams... SpM too. Maybe they're using their moderating skillz to hack into our minds... :eek: :p

I had a dream last night involving the Werewolf game...

The werewolves (or maybe it was Eomer) were bombing the village, and miraculously after all their bombs had been expended no one had been killed despite that the village was in utter ruins, so we were wondering whether the guardian had been at work or if it was something else. Then we found a bomb (called a ticking time bomb - don't ask) that was set to go off soon. Then I woke up.

I think I dreamed I was getting lynched, too. Except it was rather pleasant.

I did have a werewolf dream one of the first nights.

I dreamed that Fordim voted for me out of the blue because I didn't like his new plans that he was trying to introduce. That made me very suspicious of him for voting on a whim like that & I had to make sure that I didn't let that suspicion creep into the real game based on a silly dream. :D

I don't see why I can't just dream "these three are the wolves, post as convincingly as you can & hang wisely." :p

Hookbill I think I had the opposite of your dream last night because I dreamt that The Saucepan Man was chasing the Barrow Wight (though in my dream he was surprisingly white) and beating him over the head with his pans.

And as this was before I read through this thread I'm wondering if you somehow have found a way into my dreams - spooky! :eek:

Hmm, there seems to be a recurring image here of the Barrow-Wight and I engaged in some sort of eternal struggle. Veeeery interesting ... :eek:

Funnily enough, before the last game of Werewolf finished but after I got lynched, I had a dream that Fordim Hedgethistle won the game as the last Werewolf, and I had an "I knew it!" kind of reaction. Seems that my subconscious self is just as bad at the game as my conscious self ... :( :D

I dreamt that I was banned from the Barrow Downs for being a terrible Moderator in Tol-in-Gaurhoth IV.:( My insecurities revealed for all to see...

Very annoyingly, I had both a LotR and a different BD dream recently but forgot about them after climbing out of bed. It is just so annoying when that happens.

Oh well. t was probably something to do with SpM and the Barrow Wight killing one another.;)

I had a dream about WWf IV last night...all I can remember is that Zali was nowhere to be found, everyone was suspicious of me even though I made many many little nonsense posts, and the phantom was killed right off the bat. Needless to say, he was NOT happy about it.
Plus, there was like three people besides EomerotR who had Snoopy avatars in exactly the same colors, so that was confusing too.

Last night I had a dream about a BD house. All downers lived there and it was like a hotel and everybody got their nicks in their doors. I remember I ruined Phantom's name text by overwriting "Lord Volkh" (a charachter from a book I read a few weeks ago...)...

No, I never had a BD dream. But I sure want to have one. The problem is, I'd never know if I'm having a BD dream because...how will I know if it's a BD dream? Do I see randomly beautiful colors rummage my garbage bins? Or orange fireworks suddenly showing up at my house? Do I see a long-nosed, black-and-white man with a saucepan on his head being chased by a ghostly green figure wielding a knife? How do I know?

Would someone please, please, help me?

I don't have a future in theatre. :D

I had a very strange dream the other night. I remember very little of it, other than that it concerned me, Fea, and Gilthalion, who had somehow become a delinquent 13-year-old girl. :eek: I don't really remember what happened in the dream, but I believe we were wandering around in the middle of my street.

Okay, you'll never believe the dream I had the other night. I'll explain the components first:

I went to a graduation party where I was playing with a big handsome Golden Retriever named Noah.

I made an attempt at Saucie's latest Cryptic Clue.

It was way hot out.

The new Harry Potter book is coming out soon.

I was going to go swimming with a bunch of friends, but decided against it.

So Saturday night when I finally got to bed, I had this nutso dream where I was playing with Noah, only in reality, Noah was Saucie in Animagus form. My friends wanted me to go swimming, but I had to stay and make sure Noah/Saucie didn't overheat.

Yeeeeeeeah.

I finally had a dream. I don't know how I realized that, but I'm sure of it.

It was in a forest-like place. SoN was narrating to a few BDers a (Werewolf?) story written by Formendacil, then the BDers acted the story out. While celebrating the success of the 'play' Oddwen popped in out of nowhere and said hi to my brother Nilp. I was looking at them as they talked and suspected that it was a fake Oddwen my brother was talking to. Then I woke up...almost an hour after I intended to.

That's just senseless.

I dreamtthat on the first day of WWV, I had some unexpected RL business so I was away all day. When I got back, I found that the entire game had finished in a day, and people were obviously upset at me.

Then I dreamt that the Mod for WWVI would be Celuien instead of Feanor. I can't remember Fea's reaction, but I guess it would probably be shock and sadness masked by humour.

The night after the first WW IV day, I dreamt that everyone was trying to lynch Evisse but I knew she was innocent and was trying to talk them out of it.

That very next day, Evisse voted for me, and never stopped suspecting me until the end of the game....ironic, eh?

I had a dream this wednesday, where I was in a parlour room with Leny and we were talking to a gnome (or nome if you like variety). Then we had some tea and coffee, but when the gnome took a sip of their cup they dissappeared... :( Then Leny and I just sat there for about five minutes or so and the dream ends.

I dreamt I was at davem and Lalwende's wedding. Just before it really got started, they mentioned how they wanted to give special thanks to Beren87. I looked around, but couldn't see him - until I noticed Beren87 was a small pile of porridge in Lal's hands.

I offered to take Beren87 from her so she could go and get married, but the porridge quivered, and she explained he was afraid of me. So we got some more porridge (Computer-porridge) and mixed it with the Beren87-porridge so that Beren87 could talk through a computer's speakers.

I have a strange subconscious.

Don't think so. My dreams aren't usually interesting. Well, there are exceptions; last night, for example.

Now I was having weird dreams anyway. In one I killed a lion by administering chloroform and then cutting it's throat with a huge knife. In another, I was at a disco in my old school gymnasium, winning terrible prizes and dancing like a lunatic.

But here's the relevant Barrowdowns dream:

I dreamed that Firefoot assumed the form of my friend Kiraz, and we started dating! :D Now I don't know what Firefoot looks like so she had to 'become' someone I do know, but I knew it was her; because the real Kiraz had been picking on me just before and that led to Firefoot's sympathy. We were playing football at the time, and then we went for a walk in the hills. That's all I remember.

Why Firefoot? Hmm. Maybe the strong relationship between Eomer and Firefoot in the books is permeating to the Downs and thence to my dreams! :D

Heavens, Lhundardawen! How did you know I know a word or two of Tagalog? None of them, though, are quite the right words for repping--not that they are naughty, now, mind.

Just so you all know, three times in the last week I've had my hand slapped by the repping warden for giving out too much rep! Why, it's enough to give me BarrowDowns nightmares!

Yeah, American soccer. May I congratulate you Firefoot on being one of the minority of enlightened Americans who have discovered this true sport. :D The number is growing all the time, I am glad to say.

But in all seriousness, I had a similar dream. That's two nights in a row:

I dreamt that Oddwen was my sister (so innacurate, yes Lhuna? ;) ) and she had assumed the form of this girl who went to my school whom I haven't seen for years. I had been flicking through my yearbook that day, you see.

I wonder what's going to happen tonight? :eek:

I can't remember my dream properly, but I think we were all in a small sort of autonomous village-sized nation with the B-W as our leader. Due to a lack of income, a lot of us had to indulge in illegal lumber-selling. This lead to the B-W becoming very angry.

His authoratarian reign became much stricter and much worse. Food was rationed ridiculously. Anguirel (a royalist, so to speak) guarded the toilets with a sword - apparently, we weren't allowed to use them.

This resulted in a subtle civil war, with a resistance movement developing. Of course, we couldn't come out in the open or B-W would simply kill us, but the illegal lumber trade increased, and food was illegally produced (I think B-W had made cooking illegal).

Unforunately the resistance movement was discovered. I can't remember much else.

That was a very weird dream. I do like good old B-W though. Really! :p

I had a very short dream this morning (I'd woken up when my brother left for work and then fell back asleep, as it was about three hours before I wanted to be alive). In it, I signed onto the Barrowdowns with my usual quick typing of Fea-- *arrow down, enter on feanor of the peredhil, hit tab, password* and when the screen loaded up, I saw that I had a PM from Mithalwen. Very short, it was highly reminiscent of the one I got Sunday asking me to cover Lhuna's role in WWV. The PM said:

"We've had another member drop out. Can you ask ____ if he'll register and cover the role?"

The space is the name of a friend of mine that I'm quite certain I've never before mentioned on the forum. I thought about the request and then responded with:

"He's a movie fan, but I doubt he'd be interested. Try _____ instead."

That name was one of an actual member, but I can't remember who it was. It was then that I woke up because my dad was leaving for work. I swear, it's impossible to sleep soundly after 6:00 AM in my house.

After that, I had an actual game dream, but I don't remember anything from it. Because it was just then that my mom woke me up because she was *about* to leave for work. :rolleyes:

Two nights running I've had BD dreams. The night before last I had some sort of dream about W-W. For the life of me I can't remember what happened in the dream, but I know it was W-W-related.

Last night I had one of the most bizzare dreams I've ever had. I was in a kind of suburban neighborhood. It was on a hill with a sort of woods at the top and a street running down the hill, with houses and large lawns. About halfway to the woods (from where I was standing) there was a path running perpendicular to the street and parallel to the edge of the woods. I think I've had another deam before that was set in this place. Anyway, I was standing in the grass (under a tree, I think), looking up at the woods at the top of the hill. Suddenly, Feanor comes dashing along the path. At this point I'm a little fuzzy about what happened in the dream. At some point, Feanor comes up to me and shows me how she weas lipstick on the bottoms of her feet (she was barefoot.) I thought that was kind of odd, but then some random person comes up and tells me that this is a custom in Japan, and I decide that it's okay then. (I think I figured it had something to do with how medieval Japanese women painted their faces white. Ah, the things you learn in AP World History ;)) I believe this was one of the weirdest dreams I've ever had, second only to the World War I dream I had in seventh grade, but that's another story...

Just for the record, two nights ago, I dream about Holbytlass and dancing spawn - I can't remember anything, except we were at a swimming pool, with Holby in the water and me and dancing spawn outside.

I dreamt that TGWBS succeeded in getting me lynched yesterday. I was so cross with him that I refused to learn Quenya with him for a week so he started a campaign against me to get me thrown off the Downs. This became a major argument with some BDers on my side but most on his. There was a thread going where people put points of view for why I should go or stay but every third post or so TGWBS would appear and post that I was mean and should be got rid of.

I woke up before I found out whether I had to go or not but I was slightly worried all day because he cancelled Quenya on me!

Just thought I'd report with my last two nights' dreams.

Righto. In one of them, loads of wolves were attacking my house, swarming through the ground floor. I was staring down in fear when... through the door walked a gigantic, 8 foot Snoopy! Snoopy was a werewolf! And, of course, Snoopy is obviously one of my mental images of Eomer of the Rohirrim.

Last night I dreamt that the Downs had another update. That would be annoying. :rolleyes:

Is it just me or do I have more BD dreams than other people?

Hmm...I dreamed that I was modding a Werewolf game, and I had got three deaths done, but I was stuck on the fourth (TGWBS's, I think) so I started going killing Werewolves by sticking cherry bombs up various, um...crevasses. (It had to be cherry bombs, because anything else that would have been of use is illegal in Michigan.) There were something like fourteen Wolves, and they all looked like strange armored Star-Wars-esque dinosaurs. ¿:confused:?

I remember dreaming that I got a reputation point from the Barrow Wight and instead of it being a green blob it was gold! I remember staring at it and saying "ooohhh!" over and over again. In fact, so convincing was the dream that I woke up at 2:00 in the morning and switched my laptop on to investigate the Barrow Downs, but found no gold blob. :(

I've had two BD dreams lately. The first I had several days ago. I had gotten up early to post in WW, spent some time on the 'Downs, then turned off the computer and gone back to sleep. When I was sleeping I had this dream. In it, Mithalwen was an elementary school teacher who looked exactly like Eowyn in Lhunardawen's avatar. She was teaching a bunch of very unruly kids, and she was outside on the playground supervising recess. The children were constantly writing annoying little poems about her and reading them aloud to her. Anyway, she made a costume of Eowyn's shieldmaiden dress, but was too nervous to wear it to schoool for a while. Somebody finally convinced her to wear it, and she did, but the neckline of the vest was too high and the sleeves of the dress were wrong. (I think this part was influenced by the fact that I had been reading the What LotR Costumes/Clothes Have You Made? (http://forum.barrowdowns.com/showthread.php?t=11004) thread.) Anyway, one of the male teachers at the school apparently had a crush on Mith, and her students were the first ones to figure it out. They wrote an annoying little poem telling her this, and so the other teacher finally confessed his feelings to her while they were standing in the parking lot. My apologies Mith, for my bizzare subconcious!

Last night, I had another LotR dream. I was at a robotics competition (http://www.usfirst.org/), and somehow the Barrow-Wight was working with my team (http://www.badgerbots.org). He found out that I was a BDer and wanted to talk to me then. I don't remember too much of the dream, except that there was an all-girl team who had black shirts with Burrahobbit's avatar on them. Also, there was some girl on my team who I'd never met before who turned out to be a BDer, and I had a conversation with her. I seem to recall that we all ate cake and ice cream (with caramel sauce) and that there was also something that people called "15 hour sauce" (which turned out to be pure caffiene) that they were putting on the ice cream too. 'Twas a very strange dream!

The Only Real Estel's comments on the Reputations thread reminded me of a dream I had the other night. I dreamt that I received an unsigned reputation (a positive one) but it was so nonsensical that I wanted to PM the sender to ask what it meant. Because it wasn't signed I spent the whole dream going through the members list and PMing people to ask if they had sent it, but everyones inboxes were full so I couldn't get through! Then suddenly everyone cleared their inbox all at once and I got about a hundred messages (somehow mine did not become full) and they all wanted to claim this rep. I have no idea who it actually belonged to in the end but I felt so exhausted when I woke up because in the dream I was physically running around the Downs from thread to thread. It was a bit odd.

I had a dream a few nights ago that my sister (Oro) and I were sitting at a table in this sort of tavern thing and Dominic Monaghan was sitting at the table next to us and he was wearing this blue shirt with potatoes somehow sewn inside it. He then walked out into this hallway, and we heard someone announce that they were going to play a song ( I can't remember its name, although I know it had the word "Faerie" in it) that was somehow dedicated to Scotland and we were sad that Dominic Monaghan would have to miss it. So we walked over to this place in the room where there was a raised dance floor and a guy with some sort of stringed instrument that you pluck who was singing the song, the lyrics of which somehow involved the Quiz Room and LotR. From that point, our converation went something like this:

"Hey that must be Eomer!"
"Do we know of any other Scottish B-Ders?"
"He looks a lot like Denethor."

I also remember there was this one string on his instrument which had the same color as the links here, and that I knew that this was a "link string," and that if the string was plucked, it would take us somewhere. The string, however, was not plucked.

I unfortunately don't remember any thing more than that.

I actually ended up having two Barrow Downs dreams last night.
In the first dream I was on the Hindenburg blimp and Mormegil was the pilot. And I begged to be let off, but morm just laughed at me.

In my second dream Gil-Galad kept showing up in the latest werewolf and was voting for random people. First he voted for morm, then the Barrow Wight, then I think someone that doesn't even exist on the Barrow Downs.

I dreamed that in Game VII of Werewolf, I was the Guardian. (I had received my role by then.) Nilp somehow knew this and was screaming it at me for the benefit of all the villagers.

A short description of TGWBS's sleep patterns

I typically go to sleep between the hours of 10pm and midnight. I am woken at about 6-7 by my parents noisily leaving to go to work. I then fall back to sleep and wake up at about 10.

Anyway, because of this, I get to remember two sets of dreams. However, because of falling asleep in between them, I only remember the first set vaguely.

A lot of the shorter dreams are from when I get woken at 7, and are thus only half remembered.

A dream about Eomer of the Rohirrim

I flew on a broom (too much HP? I haven't even read any for days...) to a huge shopping centre shaped like a cathedral. It was made of red (painted) steel and glass, mostly glass. Eomer owned it and was happily there, in the form of Snoopy, in the middle. The glass hadn't actually been put into the building yet, so it was just the steel infrastructure that was actually up.

What this means I have no idea. Perhaps I think Eomer should improve his grip on finances?

I remember studying dreams a couple of years ago. Well, I use the word 'studying' but I really mean staring blankly in lectures. Anyway, I know what you mean by the separate segments of sleep guy. Also, is it true that you're more likely to have Barrowdowns dreams if you've been browsing the site for hours before sleep? I know that I tend to dream about the Downs during my periods of obsession. However, I never really have dreams about doors and I encounter many doors each day. What's all that about?

I had a dream last night. It was... odd. Very short, and very little to do with anything going on in my life that I can think of.

I was walking through my old high school and saw a notice board. On it was a list of names of famous people who would be visiting "next Monday". On it were a few names that I can't for the life of me remember, but the second on the list was Bethberry. I remember thinking in my dream "Whoa! How'd my school learn about Bethberry?!? That's crazy."

Then I woke up. The end.

PS: Beth's name actually had the little ê in it! My dreams have better use of alt codes that my waking life does. :)

I experience a creepy dream about breakfast last night... Seriously! Breakfast foods were involved!

Anyways, I'm in some 'community'-like kitchen and walking around looking at the lovely tile, then out of no where I look up and someone from the downs (they have blonde hair... That's all i remember, so don't get your hopes up at a name) is cooking. Before I can sneek out, they wip around with a plate of something and give it to me. They start spouting off something like:

" You should eat it, it's really good. I found some eggs in the back of the fridge and other things to make it with. See? There was only three pieces of spinach, and two pieces of bacon in it."

I look at them for a minute in disbelief, ask if they have ever actually eaten any of it. Oh course, they haven't, so i'm left with them looking at me trying to make me eat it. The eggs looked somewhat greenish and there's this odor stuff coming off of it, so I say 'no thank you, maybe another time'.

All I can remember from that point was that they were slightly angry and they walked out of the kitchen. That's it.

I can't figure out why I didn't post this earlier - I dreamt it more than a week ago - but it was scary. I think it would make a good horror film.

Well, Firefoot was the leader of an evil pack of werewolves who inhabited a parallel universe. She opened a portal into ours, and suddenly, the entire planet was being bitten in the night.

I remember watching a news report about how the werewolf epidemic was worst in Africa - in Eritrea the werewolf population had reached 40%.

Anyway, basically, the world was under siege from Firefoot and her band of evil werewolves from the next universe along. There was a lot more to the dream - I was trying to stop Firefoot somehow - but as I've left it so late, I've forgotten all that. Sorry. :( I've also completely forgotten how Firefoot looked - furry, most likely.

Oh, and mormegil, you haven't been forgotten. I dreamt you were writing loads of huge essays full of complex interpretations of Tolkien in a new sub-forum devoted to your essays. :D

That brings me up to 14 people. Try and beat that! I could host a dream-party...

I saw these dreams quite a while ago but I just recently recalled them.

My first dream was about the 2nd werewolf game. I was walking in a medieval town - the buildings were from 19th century but it was a medieval town, nonetheless. To add the proper feeling I saw my whole dream in differen shades of sepia. I remembered that I was supposed to phone phantom so we could discuss who we would like to kill during the night. When I called him (with a cell phone that worked with coins...) his voice was really high-pitched and it sounded like a voice of a six-year-old girl.

Now, I can put up with lots of oddities in my dreams but I just couldn't imagine phantom with such voice. I decided that it must be his little sister who answered the phone. Suddenly I was watching the dream like from a screen that was divided in two. In the right half I was making a phone call and in the left half there was phantom's little sister who wanted to babble about something I can't remember. I guess she would have talked for ages but that's when my coins and dream ended.

My second dream was about WW7. A person called Esgallhunardawen sent me e-mail and asked my opinion of the wolves' identities. Suddenly my mail box was swarming with Downers' names that bounced around the page and I was supposed to spot the wolves from the chaos of names.

Thirdly, Fea wanted to make a short film as some school project and she recruited half of the members of the Downs to act in it. We stood confused in some huge warehouse and didn't have a clue what was about to happen or what the film's plot was. Just when something exciting would have happened, the dream ended.

That brings me up to 14 people. Try and beat that!I think I just did, though I must admit that your dreams sound to be much higher quality than mine. Can I lodge a complaint? I want to see more interesting dreams. :p

Well, I'll admit it's a little odd, but my latest dream was about GlingleglingleglingleFairy. I have no idea who it is, but somebody mentioned him/her in the Which Downer Am I? quiz.

I was next to a forest talking to a friend when three little toddlers, aged 3-4 maybe, came out of it with their hands on each other's shoulders, like a conga. They were very cherub-like and kept chanting "glingleglingleglingleglingleglingle" as they conga-ed along. Odd, no?

Actually, I can't remember. I believe he had glasses, but that's all I can really recall. It's odd, because I can remember certain bits of that dream very well now (you standing on some steps wearing the Eowyn dress and the mistake in its neckline), and other parts only barely. My mind works in odd ways...

Last night I dreamt Eomer sent me a long PM about football (Soccer), his favourite teams, etc. etc. It must've been at least two A4 pages and bored me stiff. For some reason I could also see him - he actually managed eyeliner on both eyes.

I also dreamt that Kath updated her MSN Space. I went to read it and it was all about her fantastic time in Jamaica - even though she's actually gone to Spain. :confused:

I had a dream last night. :)

I was walking down the hall at my highschool when suddenly the new student from Australia bumped into me, knocking all my books on the floor. I picked them up and looked at who had knocked me down. He was wearing a Barrow Downs t-shirt. I smiled and asked him if he was a member on the forum. He said yes. I told him I was wilwarin538 and he said he was Eomer. So I asked him, very confused, "I thought you were from Scotland?", and then the dream was over. :(

There were a few things wrong with this dream. First of all, the Barrow Downs t-shirt was purple, second of all Eomer looked nothing like he really looks, and third, I know very well that he is Scottish but my dream made him Australian. :rolleyes:

I had a BD dream this morning. I got up, ate breakfast, read for a bit, and then fell back asleep. In my dream I was looking at at a thread that only had two posts on it. The first post was by Starbreeze (http://forum.barrowdowns.com/member.php?u=335), but her (I think Starbreeze is a her) PT, instead of saying "Ghost of a Smile," said something (maybe "Ignorance"? I think it started with an I) "of Sauron" and her avatar was of Nazgul on Fell Beasts flying around Mount Doom. I don't remember who the second post was by, but that persons name started with "Ash" and had 2 z's in it. That person asked a question, and oddly enough Starbreeze replied to it in the first post, as if the thread was backwards. I think the question may have been about PT's, and then Starbreeze said something to the effect of "That's only for us oldsters." It's funny, because now that I look at her profile, I see that she has fewer posts than I do. I think in my dream she had many more.

Enedwaith, while waiting from a text message from someone, I confused my alter-ego into thinking I'm going into deep sleep stage. So I got my light sleep, and its attendant dream.

In the dream I was in front of the computer, rummaging through some threads, and I saw that Kath had changed her sig:

I will be away for another week. Be back at 29th August.

I was shocked! Then I realised it was time for my first class. So left the computer centre. Not a few steps away from the building I bumped into . . .

"Kath?"

My brain froze!

You have a brain?!

Shut up.

Oh, right. That's what happened. Adam spoke for me:

"I thought your government said, 'Enter the Philippines at your own risk'?"

She smiled in a weird way, and replied, "I'm a Ranger, remember?" Then she slashes some werewolf's head off.

My phone beeped. Four in the morning. My dream ended.

NOTE: Contrary to the abovementioned, there are no werewolves in the Philippines. We do, however, have a weird version of the centaur--it has the upper body of a horse and the lower body of a human. I don't what that has to do with anything. I should stop now.

Yes, Another Kath dream. I dreamt that she was at my school and we were learning Quenya together - except she had morphed into my friend Victoria! We sat there going over the Future And Aorist tenses and saying odd sentences in Quenya.

I also vaguely remember another dream where I was reading through a post written in 2003 (when I was a complete idiot) and thinking how stupid I was. A little down the page, Eomer agreed with the point I was making for some reason. That makes 4 Eomer dreams, I think, making him my Most-Dreamed-Of-Person, or Mdop.

I had a Barrowdown-werewolf related the dream two nights ago, the one before I had to post the lynching result for Oddwen. In my dream I was supposed to wake up between 7 and 7.30 so that I could have time to write up the lynching before 8 (around the time Oddwen usually posted Deaths/Lynchings). Well, -still in the dream remember- I woke up at 7 and decided that I could get in a few more minutes of sleep, next thing I knew it was 11 --3 hours after I should have posted the Lynching-- and my mom was waking me and rushing me out of the house somewhere. Needless to say I was panicking, "But I have to go kill someone! It'll only take a moment! Please!" that sort of thing...

...I did actually wake up at 7-ish though...my kind brother stuck his head in the door and hollered for me...but it was a strange sensation waking up because I was momentarily convinced it was 11 and made a mad dash for my laptop before realizing that I was not in fact three hours late but right on schedule...All in all it was a disturbingly realistic dream which made me wake up feeling really guilty...

I had a dream the night before last about Morm. In the beginning of the dream, I somehow accidentally called him on the phone, and then realized who he was (how, I'm not sure), so we talked on the phone, and afterwards I wrote the conversation down on a postcard. There then followed much in the dream which was not BD-related. I ended up in Germany with my brother, and we were driven around by a friend of my dad's trying to get to Harvard, which had somehow ended up in Germany and looked like a place from a previous dream of mine. I believe we were looking for Lord St. George (from the Dorothy Sayers novels). Anyway, at some point we got out of the car (which my brother forgot his shoes in) and were wondering around some shop, where I was looking at watches. While we were there, we were kidnapped by Morm's evil brother, who took us to some other place, and was about to try to knock us out with a small club, when Morm and his wife showed up and stopped his evil brother. All in all, it was a very strange and rambling dream.

I had a dream last night in which I went to my Laptop and looked on the Downs to find that the background colour had been changed from black to blue. I was confused and so pmed the Barrow Wight to ask why and he just sent me a load of negative reps saying "Don't ask questions!"

Wierd Shelob...I had almost the exact same dream. I got up Saturday morning at 2:30 to go to a bird swap, and didn't get to bed 'til late, so I wasn't quite sure I could get up in time today.

I dreamed that I turned my alarm off at 7, and when I next looked, it was 10:30. The Barrowdowners would be furious! Furious!

A couple of nights ago, I dreamed the WereBear hadn't sent in its choice yet, so I had to ring in the next DAY completely ignoring the Bear. A lot of people were very curious, I can tell you.

Well I must say being the Peda is really good for an ego-boost!

I too had a few dreams whilst on holiday because I think I was having withdrawal symptoms from the site! I dreamt that I missed a PM from Nilp and he got really cross with me. He then negatively repped every post I made until I was in minus reputation (is that even possible?). I PMed the Barrow Wight to ask him to make Nilp stop and he killed him! That is, the BW killed Nilp. I woke up in shock but that was only half to do with the dream and half to do with the fact that I'd fallen asleep with the phone next to my ear and a text had just come through. Luckily said text was from Nilp and so I wasn't worried.

I also had a dream about the werewolf game as it's been a while since I've not been involved. I dreamt that I was an ordinary villager but somehow had inside knowlegde about every character. I kept trying to tell people who the wolves were but someone, I think it was Oddwen, kept telling me to be quiet because it would ruin her plan. She wasn't a wolf though so it was a bit odd. I've no idea how that one ended!

Finally I dreamt that Fea's dad deleted the Barrowdowns off the Internet by accident and the site was lost!

This was an odd dream, combining BD and HP. But HerenIstarion likes HP anyway. :)

I was on MSN when suddenly I got sucked through and ended up in Georgia. H-I was working on a computer, typing away, looking just like he does in the photo album. He was at a long desk with a woman typing on his left and a man on his right. He also had the BD site open, but whenever anybody came near he minimized it, and since his workmates didn't know how to minimise, that was all good and fine.

Another interesting note is that I was in the USSR. Don't ask me how I knew. I just did. H-I and his office were in the modren day - but the USSR still existed in the dream.

H-I apologised to me, because he had the old version of MSN and couldn't transport me home through it (evidently he was a wizard). However, one of his workmates, Hansi, would do it as soon as he finished work.

I got bored waiting around and stepped out of the offices. Outside, there were stairs to go down, but also about twelve massive dogs (I have a phobia of big dogs). I wanted to go down, but I wasn't allowed out of the office (it was unproductive) without some dogs. So two dogs took me down, but there was nothing there, so I came back up.

Upon entering the office, I found that something had happened to Hansi (he was either dead, fainted, or taken to hospital). I got worried that I wouldn't be able to get home, but luckily H-I transported me using Hansi's computer.

I had a Downs related Dream last night.

Me and a company of Downers were travelling through Moria. For some reason. We got to the Bridge of Kazad-dum and found it broken (Because of Gandalf fighting Mr Balrog) it then chanced that, for some reason, Gil-gallad was on the other side. We asked him to help but he decided to break the rest of the bridge as well. Needless to say, most of us were unhappy with this and we found some wooden planks that went across the gorge.
When across the gorge we chased Gil to Lorien where we found that he was planning to build a new bridge, one that would not break by the tap of a staff.

It was immensely strange.

I'd be very much honored that you dreamt this of me (actually, Dad), if it didn't seem like such a possibility. :rolleyes: But then, you know my Dad's feelings towards The Barrowdowns. Just last night "You know that you aren't going to have any time for this sort of nonsense in college. You're going to be working night and day. You should give it up now and get some work done."

I actually had a mini-dream the other night involving Georgia and Heren. See, I've been sick (*Fea sends allergies to Mordor*) and I have odd dreams when I'm sick, but here's what it was:

I was talking to a friend of mine the other day and learned that he lived in Georgia for a year! This wasn't a dream, this actually happened.

In the dream though, we had the same conversation as in reality and then I found out that he knew Heren, which definately didn't happen in reality. I was just about to ask him who-knows-what when I woke up and had to blow my nose, cough a lot, take some head-ache medication, and moan melodramatically about the evils of the third cutting of hay, the tassling of corn, three large dogs, and gutting rooms beneath my bedroom thus sending dust to it. And ice cream. I complained about that to the spirit of sleepless nights too. :)

I had an interesting dream about the wearwolf games. I do not remember any details, except that the saucepan man was one of the players as was firefoot, but I remeber a little about the lynchings voted on by the players and wearwolf deaths actually happening. Because at the end I was lynched.

I have been saving this one until the latest Werewolf game was over.

I was the Hunter in Werewolf IIX, and spent far too much time well into the early hours pondering over who to Hunt each Night and making copious notes (sad, I know, but the result of a very competitive nature).

After one such session, I retired to bed to enjoy only a few hours sleep. When Mrs Saucepan woke me up the next morning, I was still half asleep and apparently muttered something like:

No, I need to work out who to kill. :eek:

Which might have been rather alarming for her had I not previously told her about the game. :D

I had a dream the other night about H-I and Mrs. Istarion. I dreamt that they were going to go on a road trip across the US. They had decided to drive through northern Illinois on the way, and I tried to convince them to take a detour into Wisconsin to come see me and my family. They didn't want to, so we agreed to all meet somewhere along their route in Illinois. For some reason, we decid to meet by the side of a highway, and it was agreed that my family would come in a tractor-trailer with WARG painted on the side in big red letters so that they'd recognize us. Somehow we missed meeting up, so we were stuck waiting at some sort of rest stop, while my brother (who cannot drive in real life) drove the "Warg Truck" around.

I had a dream last night that I was walking down the main street in our town, though in the dream the street was much longer and had buildings I had never seen. Eventually I was walking past a pretty boring builing, one of those concrete blocks, when I happened to look up to see what was in it. Well the only sign on the building was one which said "littlemanpoet: dentist", I remember nothing about this really seemed strange in the dream I was just a little surprised because I hadn't realized LMP lived in the same town. I went inside just to say hello and introduce myself but had no sooner entered the office then found myself in the dentist chair about to have my teeth cleaned...all in all very strange.

I had a dream yesterday afternoon (yes, afternoon--I fell asleep on the couch doing over-the-summer English homework) about Lhuna. I dreamt that she wrote a book, and once it was published my brother wanted to call her on the phone to talk about the book. (I have no idea why I always dream about calling BDers on the phone.) I told him that this was a bad idea, since everyone else would probably be calling her on the phone about the book, and that we should visit her in the Philippines instead. We went there and ended up at her house. She was very nice, and we spent a lot of time wandering around her house. (which had very interesting-looking windows that had bamboo around them.) Nilp didn't really come into the dream, except that Lhuna showed us an odd-looking cartoon of him. Their brother (who, as far as I know, doesn't belong to the 'Downs) kept wandering around, moping because he couldn't go to Saudi Arabia. The rest of the dream had absolutely nothing BD-related, so I won't bore you with it.

Oh my Eru! I just had a wierd dream the other night. It started out with me going to an informal banquet for all the music students at my school. I was just walking around with my friends and chatting away when, out of absolutely nowhere, someone who reminded me of Bêthberry came up and said " We have to go around a lock all the doors and windows so the spectre doesn't get in!" At the time, I was with a few friends and Wilwa. When Bêthberry told us about the spectre, everybody panicked and ran around. Only a few of us (Wilwa, Bêthberry, myself and others) ran around locking doors and windows. However, when I got to one door I was knocked backwards and the spectre came in! And the specter was actually the Barrow-Wight! And that's when I woke up.

I had a dream about Nuranar last night. In it, it was Halloween and I was going to ask the phantom if I could join a Werewolf game that was starting around then. Somehow I wound up in front of this big white house and the street was lined with some tall grass and these lantern-like things sort of like those miniature pagodas you see in Japanese gardens. I looked at one of them and saw that the name "Nuranar" was written across the front. Then I realized that these were actually little houses and that she was some kind of tiny person who lived in that one. However, when she came out of it, she was normal-sized. Eventually we wound up having to keep these wild animals from coming out of the tall grass. It was kind of strange, like most of my dreams.

Not sure why Nuranar was in it, though, as the only time we'd really done a whole lot together was on an RPG a while back and she doesn't seem to have been around here much lately. In my dream she was somewhat shorter than me and had long, dark hair.

EDIT: Actually, she has been on here lately, I just hadn't noticed.

I dreamt about Wilwa last night. We were floating downstream on a river together (plus my mother). It was really cool, the scenery was beautiful and lush, there were bushes laden with fruit in fields, and the water was pure and delighted in rushing along musically.
I vaguely remember Wilwa as being dressed in blue (surprise, surprise) with long hair. I'm not sure whether we were speaking in English, most likely, or the shambles I call French.

I don't remember what night it was now, but I dreamed the phantom, Fea, and SpM came to my house for some sort of BD'er meeting.

Phantom was extremely egocentric, as is normal, and pretended he was ill so he could take my grandfather's bed. In fact, he took my grandfather's whole room.

All I remember was that he was very tiny and extremely petulant. Fea sat beside the bed and tended him, looking very like a waif.

I dreamt of Eomer of the Rohirrim the other night. I was hurrying towards my next class in a building in my university when I saw Eomer sitting in the corridor, in front of a classroom. (He looked the way I originally imagined him and not like his picture in the Downs photo page, so no eyeliner. :D ) I sat down beside him and chatted him up, and all I can remember is that I encouraged him about this book he was trying to write. Then I stood up and said bye and continued hurrying towards my next class. I arrived late and was scolded by my prof, quite needless to say. But for a chat with my big bro, it was all worth it. ;)

Too bad it was only a dream, though. :(

I think the guy who be short was also somewhere in that dream, or in a separate one that I can't remember.

Last night, I dreamed I was on the steps of a large museum, although it looked more like an observatory. It's name was Italian, but I don't remember what. So I was standing on these steps up to the door (accessible by climbing up several large blocks of concrete. It was a weird door; sort-of knob-like), and Kitanna and Wilwa were standing near the edge of the steps, by some large trees. Kitanna said that she thought I was a girl, and Wilwa said that the museum was closing soon. And that's pretty much it. There was also some sort of political rally in a forest with torches and pitchforks, but Kitanna and Wilwa weren't there.

Oh wow I completely forgot to post in here but I will now tell you of my exceedingly strange dream.

It started off in Nilp's house in the Philippines and Nilp and Lhuna were there except that Nilp was about 12 and Lhuna was her normal age. Lhuna gave me a huge hug and then disappeared in the way that those pesky dream people do. The dream then (you know that this where you're in one place and then another? I call that flashing) flashed to Nilp and myself being in a funfair. We saw this mime guy and he was miming the Balrog Wing Debate, I remember that his way of miming a Balrog without wings was to clamp his arms to his sides and fall sideways off his box!

Anyway then the dream flashed again and now I was Nilp-less and was walking down this path. A guy, who might have been Eomer, told me that I had to be careful because there was a wasps nest on the side of the path and if they stung me I would turn into a frog. As I (very carefully) walked past a frog jumped into my path and somehow I knew that it was Menel (I think because his avvie reminds me of a frog).

The dream then flashed again and I was back watching the mime who then did the entire story of LotR. I actually remember sitting there and watching the whole thing and it taking so long that a whole day had passed before he had finished. And then I woke up.

So yes, weird dream, and because of the miming LotR thing I was exhausted when i woke up because I thought I hadn't slept for a day!

I had a Downs / Lord of the Rings dream last night.

It started with myself, Nilp, Eomer and Gil-gallad wandering around Shelob's layer. We found Frodo and Sam looking for each other and were trying to help them out. But soon, Shelob and Ungoliant came chancing after us. We all ran back to The Barrow Downs and shut ourselves into a Barrow. But the spiders were trying to break down the door, so we piled up random things in front of the door to try and keep them out. In the end, I think that Gil decided to get a giant slug to help on the idea that spiders were afraid of slugs... yes...

I woke up after Nilp and Eomer began digging a tunnel to get away while Gil tried to use the slug... I think I need to drink less tea; it must be doing something to my brain.

I had a dream in which THE Ka came to my house with a bunch of my RL friends... it was really weird because she didn't look like what she really looks like. She had brownish-blonde hair rather than black, but it was still her. I forget what exactly happened in the dream, although I think her mom was there too.

My mother?! Oh dear Oscar, I hope that wasn't a nightmare instead!

She's a tricky one... Happy one moment, then suddenly wants to accuse you of some forgotten chore or miss-doing... Then there's the hour long monologue of yelling... :(

Brownish blonde? Hmm, I have a few relatives with this characteristic. Interesting...

Ah, I've finally appeared in sombody's dream. My avatar, by the way, is a giant snake thing, one of several "inside joke-type things" between me and my family/friends that I'm usually responsible for coming up with.

(It is more properly known as an Evil Giant Snake Thing Named Bob)

Another one of those "inside jokes" happens to be a giant slug, which strangely found its way into Hookbill's dream. How exactly his subconscious managed to get inside my brain is beyond me.

BTW, nothing, no matter how hungry, would eat something as slimy as one of my giant slugs. They're generally avoided like the plague. So Gil-Galad's plan would probably have worked.

I actually eneded up having two Barrow Downs dreams last night. The first was nothing more than Anguirel running around with a huge block of cheese screaming like lunatic.

In the second I was standing with a friend of mine at this big buffet table eating a carrot and my friend said if we didn't eat all this food her mom was gonna kill us. So I turned and looked down the buffet line and this chef was standing on the opposite side of the table showing people this mountain of pasta and he said "Come here Azaelia! You know you want some!" And Azaelia was slowly backing away from the table in fear.

Woah. I just had the weirdest dream! I was sitting at my computer on the downs, when The Saucepan Man banged me over the head with his saucepan, and dragged me off. When I awoke (in the dream. I'm still asleep, mind you) I was tied to the Eifel tower. After screaming for about a minute, Saucepan man came back, and climbed up the tower like King Kong. He tried to swipe me with his pan, but he missed, I grabbed it, and he fell to his death. Inside the pan was a button, I pressed it, and I turned into the Saucepan Man! But the pan must have been evil, because I started closing and deleting all the threads. Go figure :D

I've had quite a few Werewolf dreams lately but last night I dreamt that I suddenly got ten text messages from different Downers. The first one was from Squatter whose "real" name spun on the phone's screen with Beren87's avatar. That name was Latent MacSomething and he told me to ignore a post that Fordim had made (not sure why). The next message would have been from Fea but I didn't have time to read it before my alarm clock went off.

I had a wierd dream the other night which I'm not going into detail about o much. I was at the mall with my friends sitting on a bench when out of nowhere, the phantom glides by!!! I said outloud (in my dream of course) "Oh my gosh!! It's the phantom!!!" And my friends gave me a wierd look which plainly said "What are you talking about?" and when I saw that look, I said "Uhhhh, never mind that. Now what were we doing?" and that's when that part ended.

I had an odd dream. It stemmed from somebody repping my Quenya Poetry thread - something that was completely and utterly unexpected. I dreamt that various people pos-repped me for it, including Alatar. Bucktardo also neg-repped me for it three or four times, each time condemning the idea as "crap," but luckily he had no rep sway.

Oddly enough, after the dream, two more people did pos-rep me for it.

I had a weird dream last night.

I was at my computer and noticed that my PT had been activated, but when I read it it was something completely different than what I had asked for. Plus every few minutes it would change to something else, never being the right one. So I send a PM to Mr. Wight asking him what was going on. Suddenly Mr. Wight appears right beside me while I'm on the computer. He took my place in the chair and starts fiddling away until he gets up, says "That should do it" and then dissapears.

i had a dream that i wrote a long, long pm to malkatoj explaining who TORE and Fea knew to be innocent and waht that would mean for us, and who we should kill, and all this stuff. it was really long. and i dreamed that i posted it instead of pming it. i woke up believing it until i actually got on and checked. thankfully, i didn't need to be really really embarrased! ;)

Wow, lots of detailed dreams. For some reason, my dreams are few and far between, just a mass of tangled images. As this thread came up, I thought I'd put in a vague dream I had a few monthes ago that involves Barrow-downs. Not a very flattering one, but dreams are like that.

Shire Mod Piosenniel was chasing me across a plain of black and green - it was an eerie neon kind of green glow, not the shade of grass, and I remember vaguely wondering why the world was colored like it. I decided that the soil was charred black and the grass stained by the result of a Nuclear bomb that the USA had finally dropped onto N.Korea after years of threatening. And meanwhile I was still running away with Pio after me, but he grew smaller as I ran on, but then agigantic paper airplane hurtled out of nowhere with Pio on top and hit me on the head with 'PM Aviation Co.' written on the wings.

We're all paranoid.

I dreamt I was reading over threads, catching up, after missing most of the action all this week, but everywhere I looked, I saw, well, maybe the proof's in the details.

I went to The White Horse Inn thread in Rohan, and there was Imladris posting post after post about Goldwine the cat, after, like, being away for months and months. Then I checked in on the long and winding road that is the Reunification of the Entish Bow and there I saw the gamers catching it from Game Manager Esty. Thinking I was suffering from a surfeit of seriousness, I decided to check out Mirth.

And oh the shock I had there! On the 'How do you imagine other BDers' thread, Downers were being described as cats! davem was a large, self-satisfied persian who merely flicked his tail insouciantly at others while Lal was said to be a British Angora! the phantom was padding around like a smug siamese. Rimbaud had become an American long hair while Fordim, a Canadian hairless. Lhuna was a beloved burmese and Eorl of Rohan was a skittish Kasmir. The Barrow Wight himself had become an Egyptian Mau and Mister Underhill was a Singapura while Sharkey had become a Ruffle! And lo and behold I was being called a Manx!

Shaking my head in disbelief, my dream self then sought out the Reputations list, hoping to find some sort of normalcy there. But what did I find! On the reputations list, burra had changed his name to tabbyhobbit while Squatter had become The Squatter of Brooklyn Rex.

A quick review of Active Topics showed me that Eomer's Warg thread had become The Feline Appreciation thread and Crazy Cattions was devoted entirely to screen shots of Orlando Bloom with fluffy creatures, while in Books, the hottest thread was What colour was Legolas's cat's hair?.

A new thread in Mod G (the moderator's forum) had been started to discuss not trolls and monkeys but feral cats and the moderators had chosen to rename themselves the gypsy cats.

Worst of all, Tig's--and oh how that name took on new meaning--photogallery had become The Barrow Downs Pet Cemetary, with pictures of Lush's and Estelyn's dearly deceased cats.

I tossed, I turned, I pulled the sheets over and over me, incurring the wrath of my pet cat, who sleeps by my pillow. She walked all over me!

I woke in a chilled sweat. Was this the beginning of the end for the Barrow Downs? Were we in truth "posting the cat"? A deep sense of emptiness incarnate filled me as I rose to let my cat out the door.

All I can remember is it had to do with Fea starting up another Avatars thread. Something along the lines of "Favorite BDers Avatars" where you listed the BDer who's avatars you liked best of something. :confused: You know, not quite a duplicate but close enough that the B-W shut it down. Suprisingly, the thread had 35 replies before it was closed. :eek:

Again, strange dreams...when I have them.

Alright, the dream's a couple of days old...I actually had it three nights ago, but I haven't had computer access until now...

Some of my school friends and I (enough to be a class of about 12 kids) were on a field trip for school at this large, and apparently important, house. While in this house we all suddenly, and for no apparent reason, die. Due to our sudden demise we're told we have to go down to hell, and convienently there's a staircase to hell just through the next door.

So we troop down to hell where we find out that we need a certain number of points to get in (orginially I think theses were amusement park tickets, eventually they warped into Barrowdowns Rep-points). Everyone else of my friends had enough points to get in, but I didn't and I was really annoyed about this so I stomp off in anger.

At that point all my friends decided that they'd rather go play werewolf with me than stay in Hell. So they all troop out of hell and we go to this room, just around the corner, that's been specifically designed to play werewolf in.

AbercrombieofRohan then chimes in saying "Well have fun with that, 'cause it HURTS when you die." We're then informed that there's something wrong with the room and that we're not actually supposed to feel anything.

While debating whether or not to play in the broken room a murder takes place right near our group (think about 1/3 to 1/2 of an average city block away). Of course we all turn to watch. When the murderer's done he turns to start running away and we all turn to go back to our discussion when out of nowhere (also, conviently, the middle of our group) appears The Phantom who proceeds to tackle the murderer to the ground.

At that point my brother woke me up...it's not directly Barrowdowns Related, but it does connect and it was far too entertaining to pass up...

Last night I had a rather disturbing dream. It involved Mormagill (looking like his avatar) and Nilp who had just set fire to one of the Barrows in the Barrow Downs. Everyone was running around and wondering whom it was that had just set the Downs on fire. Then, all of a sudden, three Nazgûl came onto the Downs and began to chase Mormagill and Nilp over the hills, they had aparently set fire to Barad-dur also.
What was stranger was the fact that some Wights were blaming me for starting the fire. I believe my alibi was that I was having tea with Tom Bombadill at the time. Very strange.

It contained seven names, almost none of which I can remember, but mine was at the bottom in very small font. I think it was probably brought on by taking such pains to get a picture of "Esty St." from a moving vehicle then linking it into my sig...

I had an altogether odd dream last night.

So me and some other people (some of them were Downers, but I'm not sure who, and some of them were people I've never met before) were slaves, and we were the entertainment at this party, except all we did was sit in the garage - they were showing us off or something - we were important. So we decided to escape while they were doing other things by going through their house and out the back door, which was a very risky attempt for some reason. Somewhere in this escape that house turns into my house, and it's me, Regin Hardhammer (he was a Dwarf), and my RPG character Sondo Brandybuck all trying to escape from these people who are trying to make us be slaves again. We fought them for awhile, they might have been Orcs for that segment of the dream. Regin and Sondo both killed one, I just sort of directed. The dream ended with us just dashing through a door.

I had an interesting dream last night. It was where Christopher Tolkien had agreed to do a question and answer session on the Downs. The first question was, of course, "Do Balrogs have wings?" to which he replied, "Would you like them to?"

There were other things like "Did you like the films." to which he replied, "No. But I liked the free pop-corn". It seemed to my mind the he was just having a laugh. Oh well.

On our last night, with Underhill, Esty, Encai, and me alive, (morm was busy being killed), I had a dream that Encai successfully convinced me that Underhill was guilty. I couldn't help but laugh, as when I woke up, I had to go through and double check the entire thread to make sure that dream-Encai wasn't right. If anybody wondered about my sudden "homework assignment" to accuse each other of guilt, I wanted an excuse to look for Underhill's and see if it was there. It was a convincing dream. :rolleyes: ;)

I've been quite ill lately, just laying in my bed with a fever. Tonight I've hardly slept at all. But when I finally dozed off for a few minutes, I found myself arguing on the Downs. Can't remember what I was discussing, but it was an endless discussion against someone else and neither me nor he/she wanted to back off even an inch. It was almost like a nightmare, but not quite... And after that I dreamt about elves fighting each other. Guess I've spent too much time here lately ;)

The first I don't realy remember, but it was something with Nilp and throwing tomatoes at people.

The second was about Sleepy, Mithalwen and people I can't remember. In strange way's i find out that Mithalwen want's to kill Sleepy because he has been cleaning her windows. She allso wants to kill another person for fixing her car and I am the only one that can warn them. Unfortunetley I woke before saving them. . .

It was a rather unpleassant dream allthoug it was no nightmare!

So Boro got himself voted off first, and Fea voted for him so it would look like she wasn't a wolf. Then she made herself look very innocent... or something. All I know is that their team won very quickly.

While pondering whether to join the next werewolf game, I had a horrible dream that I was an inhabitant of a real mediaeval village being plagued by werewolves.

And I *still* signed up. I must be a glutton for punishment.

(I'm also ashamed to admit that I was almost as perturbed, in the dream, by the dowdy brown hempen peasant garments I was forced to wear, as by the fact that I was in imminent danger of being eaten by beasts of the night.)

On the second night of my first werewolf experiences I can relate that my dream was like this as well. Though, I kept being chased by the school children of the village, and that I never finished my last philosophical work, because one of the villagers kept borrowing my pens and never returning them. Plus, in the dream my writing desk had elephant legs... Quiet strange.

Then, I had another were the schoolchildren had convinced the local priest that I was a no-good Empirism philosopher, which sparked me being chased once again through the village, but this time by the priest as he was waving a work of Aquinas at me. Then, it lapsed into another dream were I was being banished from the village for my theories...

Ah, what a game of logic will provoke...

Last night, I had a really strange dream. I was a beggar called Ivor. Estelyn Telcontar was Frollo (from the Hunchback of Notre Dame). I was to kill her and asked her if she wanted to be killed by a staff, a club or a rusty sword. She chose the staff. I (or Ivor the beggar) was just going to crush her back with the staff, when I realized that I could not kill anyone.
Then Esty-Frollo told me about three opposing parties - elves, dwarves and hobbits - who wanted to adopt Garion (from David Eddings' Belgarion-books) after his parents' death. I had to test what party I was in. I was given paints and a paper and I had to paint something. I painted something red (which actually looked like SpM's new avvie. The result of the test was that I belonged to the dwarf party.

I had a dream this morning (sometime shortly before 8:00 AM) about lmp. In it, he had somehow become my history teacher from several years ago. However he looked nothing like either my history teacher or himself. He looked like my mental image of him, which is a bit like the man in his avatar, except with more modern clothing. For some reason my mom was going in to the school to argue with him about something. (This part might've been because parent-teacher conferences are today and tomorrow.) I have a very clear picture of him standing in the hall at my school. (It is actually in the part where all the social studies rooms are, but not where my classroom from that year was.) The rest of the dream was not BD-realted, but I did dream that one of my friends was reciting a particularly annoying commercial, and just as I was asking him why he was reciting it, I woke up to discover that that commercial was playing on the radio.

I had a dream about the new poll on "Who delivered the final blow?" The poll results were something like this:

Elrond (not Elendil) - 1
Gil-Galad - 7 or 12, I don't remember which
Isildur - less than Gil-Galad

And none of the people voting for Gil-Galad posted a reason, so somebody pointed this out, so Morm came back and defended them by saying his reason for voting for Gil-Galad and then saying there really wasn't a good reason to vote for anyone (or something strange like that, but everyone thought it made a lot of sense). (Oh, and Morm, you had a really weird avatar. I don't remember what it was, but it wasn't you at all.) And then I started thinking about it, and realized that whoever delivered the final blow was irrelevent; the question should have been asking who delivered the fatal blow - after all, it's very well and good that Isildur would have made the final blow, but if Sauron was already dead, then it was something of an empty action.

And I think I must of realized I was dreaming because I can remember saying to my dream-self that "hey, that's a really good idea, I'll have to post that when I wake up..." You may or may not have noticed that I actually haven't posted that since the point is entirely irrelevent. :rolleyes:

I had an interesting dream last night. I've been thinking that perhaps I might take the year after I graduate from highschool and do an exchange program in London, England. So in the dream that is what happened. I get of the plane in London and walk up to the family that I will be staying with. It was a nice looking couple who had a boy my age with them. That boy was TGWBS. It was very funny, he showed me around London and we talked about the Downs, and I helped him with his french homework(even though he has much better grammar then me ;) ). It was a very nice dream, very normal, unlike other dreams I've had. :rolleyes:

My first BD dream was so strange and completely out of the blue I feel weird just posting it. But anyhow.

The Barrow Downs was hosting some sort of annual competition. I’m not sure exactly what kind of competition it was, but I think it either involved dragon-slaying or baking lots of cookies. Previous’ year winner was the phantom and he was convinced he’d win again this year. For some odd reason, I was also convinced the victory would be mine, though I have never personally slain a dragon nor have I baked cookies since I was 12 years old. Alas, we were both disappointed and it was Feanor of the Peredhil who came in first (who saw that coming?). As a comfort, she hosted a dinner party for the other competitors (though by then the phantom had disappeared and magically turned into Nilp or possibly the guy who be short). Next thing, Encai (or it might have been Kath) enters, fully armed, and starts attacking us claiming Fea somehow cheated and we had all helped her win. Last thing I remember I was plotting together with Fea and Eomer (who had also come out of nowhere) to escape and take the treasure Fea had won to some forsaken island near the coast of Scotland.

I’m not quite certain how things proceeded, but am relatively positive we were all eaten by werewolves in the end.

What would it mean? Or, do I even want to know?

It's obvious that some of these dreams (especially Cailín's) are a lot closer to reality than the dreamers realise.

I had a dream a couple of weeks ago where there was a large Barrowdowns ball (I've dreamt about this before). I never made it though. I remember that SamwiseGamgee and I made it to the door and just before opening it to see you all in your lovely gowns and frocks I awakened. :rolleyes:

I had a dream about the ATM RPG.

After I left last night, I was a little worried about whether Encai would get back in time, which may have been why I dreamt this.

In any case, during the Night, somebody had posted in the RPG after me. Their name began with an N and they had a lot of rep, but I'm certain they don't actally exist. The post was quite long and, as far as I know, well written... but the person wasn't officially in the RPG.

Piosenniel went spare, whatever that's meant to mean. First off, instead of deleting the post, she highlighted it with a white background, and scribbled through it was a thick brown pen somehow.

Then, to further illustrate her objection, she created a post which contained nothing but photos of people's faces contorted in pain, implying that the whole affair was hurting her physically. It was scary.

Another slightly less interesting RPG dream involved Kath, who had somehow managed to alter the font on one of her posts into comic sans. I don't know what pio did to her...

Shortie, do you by any chance have a brother named Anthony? Because you had one in the dream.'Fraid not. Though the French part isn't true anyway, you're a bucket full of help!

It was really odd and hopeless because of the hundres of people I was only able to get two or three dreams in before the wolves killed me.

Even if your pic is on the pic page, I still don't know what you look like in three dimensions from head to toe like people I know in person.

Or maybe my dreams have featured Barrow-Downers and I just don't remember them, which doesn't really count. I can tell you, it really is disappointing that I've never had a BD dream when you consider how much time I've spent here over the past few years. There are bunches of cool guys and hot women on this site, so I have no doubt that a Barrow-Downs dream would be loads of fun. I just wish I could have one. Any tips?

Sentence one states that I cannot see other members from head to toe in three dimensions like people in RL.

Those two things don't conflict. You cannot, with complete accuracy, picture someone in 3D when you have only seen them in 2D- and you certainly can't picture them head to toe when you have only seen a shot of their head. Duh. Also, it is perfectly possible to assess a general level of hotness from a two dimensional picture, wouldn't you agree?

Any other unnecessary homework?

Perhaps you should try dreaming 2D dreams.

As for general tips, I think they would best come from the guy who be short, who by now seems ready to take over a small country with his dreamed BarrowDowners army. Or, next time when someone gives you a stuffed animal, try naming it the Barrow-Wight and see what happens?

Perhaps that is the key to my lack of dreams.

Until I have met you in person, you can never be more than words on my computer screen. I know that the words represent a real person and that your personality is expressed by the words you use and all of that, but until I actually hear the tone and inflection in your voice, and until I see your facial expressions and body language, you are not yet a complete person in my mind.

I guess that is the attraction in meeting another Downer in person. An actual meeting moves you to real-person-status (in my mind, anyway), and I think most people would prefer to think of those that they interact with extensively as real people.

Here's a rather silly suggestion: try associating BDers to certain 3D objects that you actually see. For instance, you can command your brain to think "Lhunardawen" when you see the moon, or "Eomer of the Rohirrim" when you see Snoopy. Thus when you see those things in your dreams, it will seem to you that you've dreamt of BDers! :D

LMP wrote a book, so I went into a library to search for it. It took ages, I think I bought it eventually. Oddly enough, it turned out he had written a Discworld book - and it was absolutely hilarious. I remember laughing my head off at it.

SaucepanMan and I were walking together in the English countryside. He looked nothing like he actually does, assuming rather the form of his cartoon SpM avatar.

We had actually been sent out in a pair to look for Feanor of the Peredhil, who appeared to be missing. "A perfect day for Fea," I remember saying, pointing out the huge storm brewing.

Then, for some reason, we stopped looking for Fea and SpM started telling me about how sad he was that nobody on the Downs liked him. I said this was false, and that I, for one, do like him. I also made a list of other Downers who I claimed liked him, though I've forgotten them now.

Unfortunately, this didn't console SpM at all, and he continued moping. Then the dream sort of melded into another one, ending in a flying dream (I love them so much...) and the apparition of a guy I like, shoving SpM completely out of the picture.

Now, the Fea bit I understand; she's gone off for a while, which is a little depressing. I can understand SpM thinking everybody hates him because I'd taken a "Why do people hate you?" test that day (apparently, they don't, I'm perfect). What I don't get is... why the Saucepan Man? I hadn't been thinking about him at all beforehand.

My older brother (who isn't even a BDer) had a dream about a Downer. How cool was that?

My brother and I were in some random place (a mall, he thinks), when something bad happens (a tsunami, he thinks). So everyone goes into panic mode, except us, who continue walking to our destination calmly. He asks why we aren't leaving, and I answer "[dancing spawn of ungoliant] is here." So we walk on to some connecting building with a few rooms. One of them has spawn's real name in it. So we knock on the door, and then she comes out. I tell her we need to leave because something bad has happened. Then my brother woke up, and found me playing Chip's Challenge, and tells all this to me.

I dreamt that the Canadian Barrowdowners' Thread had been turned into a T.V. show in Canada. It was semi-reality T.V. and very popular.

Well, that is interesting.. I myself had a dream about that particular thread. Or, what the thread is about is more close to it.

All of us Canadian BDer's got together here in my hometown and we did absolutely nothing the entire time except play werewolf. That's all I can recall of this dream. But I can tell you, it was fun, even though we carried out the tradition of killing Wayne or myself right off the bat. :rolleyes:

However, they weren't who I dreamed they would be, because I know that it's impossible to rep the same post twice.

I had a dream the other night that my orchestra teacher came into my jewelry class and told me that I was making glass beads all wrong and had to stop wasting time on them. In the dream, I then assigned making glass beads to Mordor. I remeber posting that I was sure Oddwen was going to be angry with my because I know she likes to make glass beads.

A while ago I also had a dream that involved Ka, her mother, and TORE doing something at my school, but I can't remember what. I think that perhaps in my dream TORE was dating a girl from my school, and I remember something about a tray of homemade croutons, but that's about it. It was a thouroughly bizarre dream.

Hello loves. I had many dreams, strange and occasionally wonderful but mostly just odd... really, really odd... over break. The one in question is thus:

Feanor of the Peredhil walks into a pizza place/pub with a similar layout to her favorite one near home, except this one serving alcohol and the real one not. Incredibly, she acquires a Russian accent for a short time, introducing herself with a laugh or two to a number of men as "Nataliya" and with a last name that I can pronounce, but sure as heck can't spell. They were bidden to call her "Tali". Suddenly, to her surprise, the phantom arrives and offers his arm (gallantly, as it was still attached). Fea replies with "'Right, let's go." in her normal voice, much to the dismay of the fellows who then complain that she lied. She responds, with a laugh, "Hey, I never actually said I was Russian. Thanks for helping me practice for the play I'm in." And off the phantom and Fea go for a slice of plain cheese and a few bottles of Dr. Pepper. The End.

I also dreamt about Gollum one night, but as he's not a Barrowdowner, it doesn't count.

I had a dream that Pio had read my entries in the Green Dragon Inn, and she started praising me on my character development, and how wonderful my post was, and a load of other nonsense. I'm confused, since my post lacked any form of character development whatsoever. I write Pio asking her why she was praising me, and she says that she was trying to bribe me into doing something for her. I woke up before she could say what, though.

Pio, you're an evil, evil woman. :D

My sister has a class at 7am during Mondays and Thursdays. Since we live a good part of two hours away from home, and since it takes the best part of an hour for some of us to do our morning rituals, that necessitates waking up at the inhumanly early hour of 4. By virtue of similar obsessions (over BD, chicken sounds, and slugs), Lhunadaga and I are, by default, twin (despite the obvious gap in both age and beauty). That means I am also her official chaperone, which she almost always needs wherever she goes. Including the university.

But my class starts at 10, so I have three hours to waste. Usually, I wait for the University's Computer Centre to open at 8, but I had no money then, and I'm really tired, so I looked for a vacant room in the building where I'll have my first class, and slept there.

I woke up, and then noticed that there was a little group forming outside the room I took for my own. They'll be having classes there, so I left. Then, I received a text message from someone I didn't know. I scanned it, but the only words I can remember were 'WW,' 'Ministry of Ministering,' and 'Davem'! Now, I tried to check the message again, but my phone's display froze, and I proceeded to bang it furiously on some surface.

Then I woke up. There really was a group forming outside the room. I was wondering if the second part of my dream would come true. It didn't, of course.

I had a very strange dream last night.

I and Kath had heard that Fordim had got twins, so we decided to go to see them to a hospital. We wen't there and Kath asked a nurse: "Where is Fordim Hedgethistle? We would like to see him and his babies." I laughed, because I knew that Fordim's name wasn't Fordim in real life (or you never know, but anyways) and the nurse didn't know anyone of that name and went away. So we (me and Kath) went to ask another nurse for someone who had got twins. The nurse said: "Twins? He got seven!" and guided to Mr. and Mrs. Hedgethistle who had got seven babies. Fordim looked happy but a bit devastated, like his wife (who looked like Harry Potter's mother in the films). They let us hold the babies, who looked more like half year old than newborn. After that I, Kath and Fordim went to a cafe and ate sandwiches. Funniest of all, Fordim didn't even know who me and Kath were, because we hadn't presented ourselves, because we had forgotten.

*Hands Nilp a cookie and a dream for studying French*

I dreamt that Lhuna and Nilp were both sitting at a large wooden desk together. Nilp was frantically working - I can't remember whether it was on a piece of paper or a laptop - on the right hand side. Lhuna, on the other hand, had a computer out, but was instead playing a ball game with it. With, not on. She was somehow guiding a yellow ball along the top of the computer, and aiming to get it on top of a laptop far out of her reach. I think she was doing it all psychokinetically.

Later, Nilp became Dexter from Dexter's Laboratory. He invented a parachute, then launched himself into an icy ravine. Unfortunately, he forgot to account for the power of wind in his equations, and ended up being blown against the rocky sides of the ravine.

Even later, Dexter became me. So my subconscience was telling me, in a roundabout way, that Nilpaurion Felagund = the guy who be short.

I had a dream a week or so ago, about getting reps for things done in real life.

I dreamed I tried to get out my torch and melt some glass for lightbulbs (?), but my Mom tried to help and we ended up burning our hands and a wall.

When I logged onto the downs (still in the dream), I had four or five reps for the incident. These I remember -

Alas for school and poor memory, so that I was unable to post this until many hours - over 40 - after 'twas dreamt.

The was a Fea, and verily did she come to England. I was a little surprised to suddenly find out that she was staying with me, but it was fine, so I went to pick her up.

On the way back to my house, Fea got off our bus because she was ill. For some reason, instead of going with her to help, I stayed on the bus and told her to get the next one, leaving her puking in a new country.

When I got home, I realised she wasn't coming back. I pulled out a piece of paper and emailed her - I don't know how I expected this to help. I took a look at the phone number and groaned - tricky as she was, she hadn't given me her real number. I should have guessed by the "square root of three" in it.

This is where the dream becomes hazy. We reunited somehow, and something happened with her passport and possibly nurses. Then we went to tourist attractions together

I had a dream about that Barrowdowns Map that the Barrow-wight created (it's in the announcements sub-forum).

Lots of people were, for some reason, living in Scotland, and all I could do was wonder why I hadn't visited them or they me.

Mithalwen was somewhere on the west coast; Bethberry was in Perth or thereabouts. There was also a new user called 3girls, or was that in another dream...no, definitely on the map. I was so happy that I'd soon get to meet all sorts of Barrowdowners; then I woke up.

I dreamed about TGWBS last night...he looked most like the picture I drew of him sometime back here (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v58/Oddwen/thephantom.jpg), but he was the right color. O_< And he actually had a chin.

Supposedly, in my dream, he was awarded for getting a girlfriend with his own personal bathroom in my Burger King designed by me. She looked like a hobbit lass. The bathroom was all white tile, and had at least three toilets and some funkily placed walls. I kept getting lost in it.

Plus, he and his new girlfriend got to star in a motion picture starring Jodie Foster, in which they were a poor family living in a trailer. The Mother (Jodie Foster) let TGWBS hold their $320 dollar rent money while she went inside the trailer, meantime TGW and his new girlfriend were kidnapped for the money.

The interview with Jodie Foster was hilarious.
