I had a rather long dream and it was only slightly BD-related so I'll explain it in a short way: Aganzir was an old lord and she (though she was a he in the dream) wanted to commit suicide because her name had been shamed. She had three adult (or almost adult) daughters and I was the eldest. Well, she did commit suicide in a Túrinesque way. I and my two sisters (who I think were my sister and my cousin) were very sad because we had lost our father. Because we were so miserable, the Saucepan Man agreed to temporarily adopt us.

Err... am I having a crisis since my real dad is abroad and away for a week? :D

Now Nogrod, Spm and I can establish a Lommy's Father Club? :p

I had a dream of which I don't remember anything but that it came out that Boromir88 was really born in 1949.

Last night I dream Lalwende & Davem came to my town. I spotted them in a shop that doesn't really exist and instantly recognised them, even though davem looked nothing like he does in real life. He was an old man of about 60, and Lal didn't look like her pic either

I raced towards them, but they moved off before I could talk to them. I saw them get on a local bus, so I got on too and talked to them. When I talked to them they chit-chatted a little, but I suspected that they weren't the real Lalwendavem because they didn't mention the BDs.

Our bus just went up and down my town before we got off.

Whoo, if it wasn't the 'real' us it could have been our alter-egos or our Shadows or something scary like that!

Have you been eating that cheese that Hookbill was so fond of? ;)

Because we were so miserable, the Saucepan Man agreed to temporarily adopt us.Well, I'm flattered, but I really have enough on my hands with the two I've got thanks. :D

Speaking of which ...

Dream 2: Saucepan Man decided to arrange "the ultimate BD meeting" somewhere in the Finnish countryside. I was spending time at a friend's summerhouse nearby (again with those three friends of mine), so I and Aganzir decided to go there. Well, the whole thing was a chaos. There were masses of teenagers who had either nothing to do with BD or were members with less than 10 posts. SPM was quite desperate, since no one he knew was around. Is this a taste of things to come for me in about 5 or 6 years' time? ;)

I had an odd dream last night...

In the dream Volo and Rune were trying to get into my house but they couldn't because someone had bolted all the doors shut. I came to the house and they told me that there was some gold in there and that I had to help them get it. I said I didn't want to and then Rune pulled a gun on me!

Is this a sign that Rune is really evil? :p

TGWBS - just noticed there's a problem with your listings. You have SPM and The Saucepan Man as two different persons in my list...

Huuray! The first time I'm in a Downers dream. I dreamed of you weeks ago. *hrrmpf!*

Last night, I dreamed TGWBS, Hookbill, a guy I work with and myself were attempting to make wine. Two hundred year-old wine.

The two centuries was the easy part, as I could control time with my mind. The hard part was convincing Tigwubs and my co-worker to not drink it right away. "Two hours is enough," said my co-worker.

We had some real two-century wine, but it was all manky & moldy and I had to pour it out so that TG and my co-worker wouldn't drink it and get sick.

As we started crushing grapes for the third time, Formendacil joined our quest, and at this time the real trouble started, because then a bunch of priests showed up and kept trying to sanctify (or guzzle, not sure which) our efforts, and Hookbill is upset that the experiment is going into the public eye, and I'm upset because "Hey! I'm in charge and I'm not catholic! You don't have anything to do with this!".

And I don't drink alcohol or condone its use, if you were wondering.

Last night I dreamt that I visited SpM's house. Nobody answered the door so I broke in, as you do. Then his wife came up to me, but I explained I was looking for SpM, so she led me to him. He was doing something in his garage.

Seriously, SpM, your house is gigantic.

To avoid a debacle and to placate Volo, I put here two BDer dreams that for some reason I never posted on this thread -

I dreamed that Diamond18 came to my house for a visit. Only it wasn't quite my house, me and my sisters' conjoined bathroom morphed into a conjoined kitchen.

I fear I might have overwhelmed miss Sarah, I kept trying to cook her some food, and show her my music CDs. Then we ran out of food, and under fear of starvation, we dipped into the oooooold stash of sticky nut buns my Dad had been saving for an emergency. They were barely stale. Then Di started crying and told me she wanted to leave, and I woke up.
And -

Hmph...I dreamed of Miss Sarah last night...the government kept trying to steal her parents away, so she was selling everything she owned and was living in this teeny room. She was told not to put up posters and things so there wouldn't be pinholes in the wall, but she did anyway and also she bolted her chifferobe to the wall. She kept coming to my Goodwill and buying bowls, why I don't know.

Then she had social services or her landlord or someone coming to inspect her room, so I volunteered to help spackle & paint over the holes she had created...apparently, she had ripped the chifferobe off the wall, leaving a corner of the room open to the world. The spackle didn't help much there.

I guess she was a novelty, so an English paper did a story about the "Silly American girl, who has to sleep under the stars!".

And the difference between a chifferobe and an armoire (as explained to Volo in my dream), "A chifferobe and an armoire are pretty much the same, except, except the armoire is more like a, you know, like a cupboard for clothes, and a chifferobe is like a dresser."

Well, actually when we are speaking of it, I remember Volo being in one of my dreams as well - it was from last Wednesday to Thursday, though I don't actually remember what was going on in there, that was why I didn't post it. It also featured TM, to whom I spoke on the phone (now given the following events... hmm... interesting  ) But I don't know what it was about. I only know it took place in metro.

Out of interest, what did she look like? Wasn't she annoyed that you had broken in?I can't really remember what she looked like; I think she had brown curly hair and was quite thin.

I suppose she would be annoyed in real life, but there are often gaping holes in the logic of my dream-world, so no, she was happy to talk to me about her kitchen.

And I don't know, but it was a big garage too. And you were doing some sort of DIY thing British men love to lose themselves in for some reason.

I must say this thread has always somehow seemes strange, but interesting in the same time to me until now, and even more now, since I've been dreamt of.
I personally dream little and only of people I know very well. So it seems strange that someone would dream of someone you only know from an internet forum and that you have never met or talked to.
I wonder how I looked like in the dream...maybe a golden light...? :p

Well, you know, I spoke to you just on the phone... though I actually think I saw you in the dream (even though you were somewhere else, telephoning - but you know, dream is dream). But I am not sure and I really don't remember it, I don't even know what the "plot" of the dream was. Really a shame. When you can't write down your dream right after you awake, you in most cases forget it.

A few nights ago (or perhaps it was day) I dreamed that Bethberry was on National Bingo Night and posted a special thread here exorting us all to watch. I turned on the television and tried to figure out who she was, having no idea what her real name is or what she looks like. There was a very confident, somewhat cheeky woman on the show who looked to be in her thirties and who had long, bright golden hair. Her name was Beth Haus, and I decided that that was most likely our Bb.

I really don't know how to explain it. I despise the very notion of that show and have never had any intention of watching it. Also, in the dream, Bb was answering trivia questions instead of playing bingo. Strange.

Today I had a dream, and I'm writing it here "fresh" so that I don't forget it, though I still already did most of it. I remember however the main points, like that it was that the Innocents won WWXXXIII, and then Aganzir wrote on the WW thread that she'd like to mod her own game, but she also explained what the game would look like - she said it's going to be somewhat different, as it will take place in some half-drowned structure, of which she drew a plan, these were like two horizontal corridors (first was like one level below the other), and then one long vertical shaft running through them, with a ladder so that you can get to the other level with it, and at the upper end of it there was a hatch. In several places in the complex there was water (i.e. they were drowned), and also there were let's say three lever switches in the complex, but I don't know what they were for. I thought "hmm, nice, but what is the game supposed to look like?" Aganzir explained that the people will be describing where they go through the complex and what they do, while I thought then that Aganzir probably doesn't know that there are the RPG rooms for making RPGs, and that this has no connection with Werewolves. Suddenly it was a normal game of WW like the others. I don't know the exact numbers, but I suppose there were 3 wolves and classic hunter, ranger, seer... what I remember 100% was that Aganzir said there will be a Cobbler, which surprised me (though I don't know why). So that's about it.

Volo

What a great dream you had there! Let's hope that things go according to it. :Merisu:

...though Aganzir could toss a few special secret unique roles into her game. ;)

I had some weird BD dreams.

In the first there was a huge medieval castle. There was some sort of ball arranged there and I guess Rikae was the hostess. She had a new avvie which was some wolf-like animal, only smaller and had bigger eyes. The avvie was a short video clip of the animal looking around and it was really scary.
Outside the castle, there was a big field or plain, where many knights fought. Boro was having the upper hand. He was a huge mad (sorry, Boro :D) knight looking like a bit like Sean Bean. There was also someone called Sir Anguirel, but his name was all that was said of him. Then I was also on the field and I had to knight two young squires. They were to become Sir Rune and Sir Dane. I wondered which barrowdowners they could be. "Sir Rune could be Rune Son of Bjarne... but Sir Dane? As far as I know Rune's the only Dane around..." I thought. Anyway, they came to me and they were identical and looked like Rune Son of Bjarne, so I decided they both must be him.

In the other dream, Kath and her family came to Finland and visited Noggie's place. Volo had also been invited to have dinner with us. We (Kath and her family, me, Noggie, my sister and Volo) ate and chatted. Suddenly I realised that Kath and Volo were missing. I left the living room and I heard some weird noises from Noggie's bedroom. I entered the room. Kath and Volo were at the computer. "Hi Lommy, we're playing Colin McRae Rally", Kath said. They were playing it together with a split screen mode (Kath was having the keyboard and Volo was having a joystick). "Why are you doing that it such a difficult way? Why do you play it from that perspective, it's so difficult?" I asked. They made no reply.
"What if we called Aganzir and asked her to come to say hello to us?" I asked. "A good idea, but I think we could go to visit her", Volo said. "Yep, and let's not tell her we're coming", Kath said. "Alright then", I agreed.
Then I, Kath, Volo and my little sister left Noggie's place to got to Aganzir's place. On our way there, we met a middle-aged woman with a black tattoo in the face, wearing a yellow rain coat and carrying plastic bags. Volo stopped to chat with her. When we continued our way, Kath asked: "Did you know her?" "Yes, she's a friend", Volo replied. Kath looked a bit surprised. "Never mind, Kath, he knows all the freaks in the town", I said. Then we went to the metro station and the dream ended.
(Some minor details: Kath looked like she looks in her photopage pic except that she was shorter. She wore jeans and a gray hoodie and she had the hood on all the time. Kath's brother's name was William. We ate pie in Noggie's place.)

I have weird dreams. :D

For the first time in a few months I remembered one of my dreams--and in rather great detail, looking at what I've written down about it.

The only part that pertains to the Barrow-Downs specifically is that LMP was in it, as some sort of sidekick of myself and my sister (nothing like any of my real ones), who was apparently named Éowyn (though she had dark hair). Despite the book relationship, if I had a name other than my own, it was Faramir.

The dream is quite long, transcribed, and I won't bother posting it here, but I'll let you know that Elempi is about four feet tall, with a funny-looking hat, and dresses in tan and yellow in a style reminiscent of lederhosen. Apparently he borrowed the fixation on monkeys from someone I know on another forum. He was also "not possessed of power/magic", but managed to survive anyway.

If anyone wants to read the dream in its lengthy entirety, here's the link (http://formendacil.livejournal.com/12938.html#cutid1).

I experienced a rather interesting, okay maybe not that lovely, dream last night involving random executions taking place in different places and time throughout history. Besides the point of people either solomn, excited about some form of entertainment, celebration via religious circumstances, etc, there were random BD members in the crowd. I don't really remember how many, but I do remember that Rune, Gil, Fea appeared a few times. Besides that, I don't remember much.

Yes, I know, not too funny a dream, but peculiar that I only really was interested that BD members were in the crowd, besides the random executions taking place.

I had a dream that there was a ww-game and I was a wolf. My fellows were Rune and Di. We agreed to plan our nightly kill in MSN and we agreed to all log in about 10pm my time. I forgot about it and came online an hour later, but happily it was okay with Rune and Di as they had other things to do online as well. I'm not sure, but I guess I only came online when Di called me (on the phone).

So I won't go into detail because my dreams are always long and ridiculously complicated, but I had a dream where, after attempting to avoid being an accomplice in Keeper of Dol Goldur's car stealing exploits, I ended up on the run from the guys my fellows had tried to steal from. Not much liking the prospect of being caught by big angry men, believe me, I booked it, along with Keeper and a couple brotherly friends of his. We sprinted through the woods, down some gorges, into a creek (you know, throw them off the scent or something). They got cars, so we had motorcycles along the stream bed, right toward a cave, where--

The guys basically disappeared, and I was, more importantly, in a cave with no other than Tigerlily Gamgee. She got stuck and started to panic and then, with LMP behind me being a rather soothing presence, everything was all better and we got out of the cave, right into--

A scene that does not at all apply to any of you.

El fin.

I dreamt that I was in an empty room with Mith, Brinniel, TGWBS, Lal, Davem, Kath and Hookbill.

We pretty much just stand there and look at each other for a long time, Hookbill then asks if anyone read the latest edition of The Downer. I say "yes" and everybody looks at me and start telling me that I should buy "The Smell of Reeves & Mortimer". I tried to explain that some of my friends already bought it for me, but people would not listen.

I had a good one last night. In part of it, tgwbs was hosting a big fancy picnic with the food in wicker baskets and checked tablecloths on the ground and everything. There was Rune, Lommy, Hookbill, Nogrod, Mithalwen, narfforc and davem there at least. Rune was jumping around drinking Tuborg lager (can you still get that?) and singing Abba songs. Then SpM came along and insisted we put everything away - he was really annoyed because we were ignoring the potatoes that needed picking! He was getting all tearful about his taters!

Of course you can still get Tuborg, it is more popular than Carlsberg with the youth of Denmark (and Norway). They however merged so I suppose they are indifferent about it.

They just re-released Red Tuborg so I am happy for the time being. (the standard lager is known as Green Tuborg)

I dreamt that I went into WHSmith to ask for a job. There was an old woman behind the desk who said "Ah, I've been expecting you." Apparently, Lalaith had told her to give me a job on the phone earlier. She asked if I knew Lal, and I replied that I did, that we were on a forum together, but we spoke very rarely as there were so many members, although we might send out a PM to one another on very rare occasions. By the time I'd said all this, there was a long queue behind me. I can't remember what happened next...

If anybody would like to recommend any employer to employ me, please go right ahead.

Had a dream, a part of it had something to do with WW or some depate in it, it was actually very contradicting to what the real situation was, though I can't remember a thing in what way it contradicted, and what.

Another, the bigger, part of the dream was... surprise surprise! Kath coming once again into Finland. :D She was going to go to some smaller town in Finland, but would stay in Helsinki for a day (Gah, wrote "Day" again...). We went to some museum which was actually in the railwaystation building. It was full of all kinds of medieval stuff. Then we walked in the forest near my house and there Kath reminded me that she wished to see Lommy. I called her and found out that she didn't even know that Kath was in Finland, though Lommy didn't sound surprised in the least but a bit frustrated. Lommy asked how long Kath would stay, and when I told her that Kath would be leaving already the next day, she told that she'd come by to say hello later in the evening. Well, Lommy didn't come after all.

Funny that this time Kath had short hair.

Two nights ago I had a dream about Lalwende and Davem - except they were living in a Sims house I guess, because in my dream I kept telling Lal to plant strawberries, but she wanted to plant tomatoes and peppers.

They had a huge argument about a greenhouse for their produce, and then I thought "Wait - this is the Sims. I can just cheat their finances up so they can afford one." And so I did.

Mac should be fond of algebra...

I dreamt that some people were complaining to a postman that he kept delivering letters late. His defence was "Even if I delivered them earlier, people who wake up very early like morm and SpM wouldn't receive them before they left for work."

In a separate dream, The Ka posted a meme on LJ, but it was weird because she removed all the questions and replaced them with keywords instead.

I had an extremely complex BD/WW dream last Night.

At the moment the things I remember are two powerful men (lords of some sort), Boro and Morm having an argument about WW while sitting at a great long wooden table. I sat there on the other side and tried to interfer the talk, but since I didn't have access to a computer that day, I couldn't say anything in the game (although they were discussing there at the same table).

Later I was skiing with Nogrod in a forest outside the castle/house where the earlier discussion took part. I asked Nogrod for advice in WW. The things he told me left me in complete awe in the dream, but now they feel more than funny as one of the wisdoms was "ask questions all the time".

Algebra is much more exciting to Lit majors, methinks. :D

I had yet another incredibly boring dream last night; I think I only report these to keep my dream-count ahead of Lommy's. :D

I was on LJ (again) and Oddwen posted yet another of those memes where you enter your LJname, and it comes up with random things about people on your friendlist. This one was to see who her internet-family were. I remember she was excited because I came out as her internet-brother.

First dream consisted of me talking in MSN with three 'downers. I don't remember what I talked about with Mith. I had just killed Kath in ww (I was a wolf) and she said to me: "Well, I guess I'm flattered, but I can't imagine myself eating any female person, you know." Before I could reply to her, she went off and the pop-up window (where the discussion had been) vanished. I was writing some word and when the window vanished, the end of the word was actually written to a new window, where I should have said hi to Cel. So, instead of "hello" I said her "rawly". She answered "rawly" with no surprise, it seems she thought it was just a new way of greeting she hadn't come across with before.

In the other dream I wondered what my ww-role should be. Hookbill insisted I must be a married dwarf. I said I didn't want to be a married dwarf, but an orc from the Borneo rainforest.

Explanations?

edit: Now I remember what I talked about with Mith. She said she had seen Boro in RL and I was surprised because I didn't know that.

Sorry, right now I can't offer any explanation, because... ROFL (no, actually, OCL).
Lommy, I think you should go and check at a psychologist... well, it's nothing wrong with the dreams, they are just... totally crazy (but I like them!)

Rawly. (sounds like a wolvish greeting to me) :D

Bare with me...like a melting icicle, this post eventually comes to a point.

Sleep escapes me, but dreams rarely do.

Never been much for sleeping. Back in the day, three hours a night was efficient as long as once a week I could catch a power nap for 45 minutes. In the college years this was done in deserted hallways having a bench or two consecutive seats on which to crash. Even with that, still, one eye was always open as you just never knew.

Much older now, and now I wouldn't mind sleeping a bit longer, but the opportunities are few and far between with the kids. Five contiguous hours would be excellent; 5-7 hours in 45-180 minute bites is more the norm. Still, things change, and lately we've been on the upswing.

A typical night has me sleeping on the couch with the youngest. She's been a challenge, and we've (obviously) stood on our heads (while juggling) to keep her asleep and from waking the others. Anyway, she sleeps on one side of the couch, and I sleep half-seated with my feet between her and the edge so that when she wakes up, I know it. Keeps her from hitting the floor. Also keeps me from sleeping deeply.

After that, lately around 3 AM, me and the little one seek out my wife, who may or may not be sleeping in the master bedroom - she may have had to deal with one of the others and nightmares, wet beds and the sometimes coughing fit.

From then I may sleep to sunrise - or not - when I give up and get up to start the day and the coffee.

Side effects of sleep deprivation: being constantly tired (duh!) and being more prone to hallucinations. I've learned to deal with both. On the bad nights (like when I've seen every hour of the clock), I try to skip out on intense activities the next day like brain surgery as you just know you're going to make a mess of it. Oops! The hallucinations are like being color-blind - you know that you're seeing something differently than everyone else, but you learn to work with that version of reality, seeing grey and saying "green" (or, more like seeing a Balrog and saying "box."). The hallucinations aren't really vivid - just for a fleeting moment you see something and, given a million choices, your brain calls it wrong at first glance. Anyway, but that's more like waking dreams in some way, but I've not had any that involved the Downs, and so I digress.

One benefit of being awakened multiple times during the night as one tends to remember more dreams. If you wake up, you remember the last dream that you had. If not, the dream gets overwritten by the next one as you cycle through REM sleep during the night. And if you’re lucky, you can wake up, sort out the last dream a little, add some ‘better’ ideas, and fall back asleep, having front-loaded the imagery. Upon waking again after the next REM cycle, you can have had an even better dream than the first time. Or not.

Another effect of days with no sleep, at least for me, is that I tend to get emotions. Not emotional, as on any normal day I have few to none (they were surgically removed at birth during an experiment gone awry), but emotions. These, to me, are a stranger experience than seeing a car floating through the air. Suddenly I'm sad while watching all of the people leave the warm comfort of their last hope to march out to their freezing deaths, as seen in 'The Day After.'

It’s completely fictional, but at that moment, I care.

Odd, that. Best guess is that my anger towards Peter Jackson regarding Gandalf in the Return of the King Extended Edition was due to momentarily acquiring emotions. Argh! Anyway, so fast forward (or backward if you consider 'now' to be the current time) back to the Downs, back to when the amnesty went into effect. I had been reading some of the uglier posts. Briefly fell asleep, and had one of many dreams that concerned the Barrow Downs, and this one stuck out.

The main detail - I'll skip the list of cameos and description of the setting and surroundings - was that there was a poster, who in my dream was represented as having three heads. Where the face should have been there were…more like wolf, or werewolf heads, as you could see the brown hairy snouts protruding from the nose area, and it wasn't like you could see them if you looked dead on the person. It was only when he/she/it thought that you were looking away that these ghost-like three heads were visible. And it were if the pseudo somewhat visible head inside the three virtual wolf heads shook like it was a video projection from a shaky lens. I felt myself shuddering, as there was more to this person than was apparent. Something was wrong. Sickly dead wrong, as this person sought to cause despair. Dressed well, as so for all intent there seemed to be no problem, but there were the teeth, the sharp teeth of a predator which you could only see when you weren't supposed to.

I woke with the feeling that there was a wolf loose amongst the sheep that graze the green pastures of the Downs. A virtual wolf, looking to kill, to mindstomp, and soon it would begin stacking up prey, like (I presume) in the werewolf games where each morning brings bad tidings. Said nothing at that time - but due to those darned emotions I actually considered this to be some evidence that there was a problem. So I said nothing, and watched and waited, but found nothing. But still...

...just can't shake the feeling that there’s a wolf about.

Well, it's definitely worth attention. Maybe it has some sort of, you know, prophetic quality to it, especially considering the way you put it. I mean, you could never know. Although on second thought maybe not. Prophecies are generally introduced. In our case, I would expect the Barrow-Wight Himself, or maybe even Professor Tolkien to appear before you at the beginning, standing amidst seven stones and with seven stars in his right hand, with a blue-glowing sword coming from his mouth; saying: "I am The Hobbit and The HoME, the beginning and the end. And what thou seest, write on a thread and post unto the seven forums which are at the Barrow-Downs; unto the Books, unto the Novices and Newcomers, unto the Movies; unto the Fun and Games; unto the Translations; and unto the RPGs; and unto the Announcements."

If you haven't seen anything like this, then I guess it's okay. Otherwise, I won't like to see some events that will have to take place (like losing one third of the threads and one third of the members and similar). But anyway, logically in the end the Three-Headed Wolf you saw as well as the Pseudoprofessor (who will appear soon after the Wolf deceive us), will be banned and cast into Mount Doom...

This sounds like some kind of prophetic utterance for Mac's new WW game. Or alatar has taken to channelling Mac in his dreams.

Don't know the exact time, but it was sometime between the beginning of the year and a few weeks ago.

Don't want to get too specific, as, of course, I have a completely logical explanation for the said dream, and that being that it is just complete and utter nonsense filtered through sleep deprivation-induced emotions. I cannot reason otherwise. ;)

:eek:Shhh! You don't know who's watching!

That being said, I've always thought it interesting the images that appear in dreams (i.e. what prompts truly random things?), and how, upon waking, we interpret these midnight menageries like internal Rorschach movies.

Well, I'll start with the setting, which is a little odd. It was a stage with red curtains, but it was very dark - I'm quite sure it was underground. It was also full of apples - you couldn't see the floor.

Mith and Hookbill and I found Anguirel sitting on these apples, having just finished some sort of savoury snack, probably a tube of pringles. He look surprised to see us and said that once every year, he met up with SpM to have a feast. SpM had just left. We must have looked jealous, because he wrote out invitations for us to attend the next one.

I dreamt last night, between dreams of an ex coming back to haunt me, having to take another math class, accidentally vandalizing the apartment my parents lived in when I was like two, and somehow being at a water park where there was cream instead of water, that my brother's girlfriend created an account here and posted something that was intelligent up until the last paragraph, which was frightening.

She was banned shortly thereafter.

Whoa...okaay. I had a strange dream last night...(Mac, I apologise in advance)...

I was at a hotel that was hosting some kind of Barrowdowners' convention. Even though I had a reservation and tickets, the hotel desk clerks (two snotty looking women) didn't want to let me in, and, when they did, followed me around for a while, glaring disapprovingly (and leaving the desk untended, I suppose).

When I found my way to the ballroom-type space where about a hundred Downers were mingling, SPaM immediately came up and started chatting with me, and Lommy and Legate joined us. (SPM and Lommy looked like their photos, and Legate looked like TM). After a while, I wondered aloud why Macalaure was late...

Just then, Hookbill came in, dressed in his Bombadil costume, and started circulating a (paper) newspaper, illustrated with cartoons, to the effect that Macalaure was no longer among the living. (I think it was something to do with a bathtub and a lightbulb...I just glanced at it.)

I assumed it must be some sort of tasteless joke and proceeded to try to call Mac from a payphone, but I couldn't. Everyone else believed the newspaper, and thought I was in denial. Nogrod was trying to convince me to "accept" it. Then I woke up...

I had a dream that I now remember only vaguely. I was holding some sort of BD meeting in my home. All the guests (Fea, morm, who was called Molli or Molly, by the way, Rikae and some other people, but I don't remember who they were) were in the living room, chatting, but I was in my and my sister's room because I had to do something annoying, clean the room or change clothes or something like that. Happily, one of my guests, Mith, was keeping me company. I was a bit annoyed because I had to waste time on the stupid things and could not talk with my guests. Mith sat on my sister's bed and tried to cheer me up.
Mac was constantly sending me either PMs or smses (I don't remember which) saying he was so sorry he couldn't come and asking things like "what's up?" and "how is the party?". In the end I however managed to be done with my duties and I and Mith joined the others and we all ate dinner with my mum and my sister, and I thought it was wrong that they were there, because they aren't 'downers.

Figured that I'd post this one before it escapes.

Last night I was running on empty. Had a few bad nights in a row, and felt ill as a result (no kidding!). Fell asleep on the couch with no kids in sight.

First dream: I was out in the woods. It was night, yet I could see reasonably well where the moon poked through the branches (ever see a moonbeam?). It was some kind of bike trail; level, crushed limestone, chalky in its whiteness. This trail sort of glowed/shimmered in the said light. The foliage was as it is now - green, full and thick. Something was hunting me. I continued down the trail as quickly as I could go without running, as I still wanted to be able to hear the pursuit. I stayed to the side of the trail, close to the bushes, leaves and trees as I wanted to take advantage of any cover it may give. Whatever it was that was behind was big and moving fast. I could not smell anything.

It closed the distance. A quick look back showed that it was a wolf, but more the size of a large bear. I immediately started to run. Out of the corner of my eye I noticed that I'd just reached a crossroad in the trail - where two trails intersected.

Something moved to my right. I was momentarily in the air then face down on the ground. My forearm burned. I raised my head. Two of these wolf creatures lay ahead of me looking stunned. I saw ahead of them a building. I ran towards it, hoping that it offered some hope.

I looked at my left arm, the one that was stinging. A gash, two inches from my elbow, cut across my inner forearm. It was deep, and I saw some of that stuff you see when they're operating on a person. I pushed the tissue back in as best I could and kept moving with my hand across the wound.

There wasn't any bleeding.

I continued to move. As far as I could reconstruct, at the crossroads the wolf behind and a new one to my right both had lunged at me. One nicked my arm before the two collided. I smiled when I realized that, for just a brief moment, I was atop the one attacking from behind as I got knocked around then to the ground. "Warg-riders, heyoh!"

It was 2:15 AM. I was still on the couch. Didn't hear anyone calling out, so I laid back down.

Dreamt, as I sometimes do, of working in the lab. Place still looked at it always did when I practically lived there. New people, same old boss. For kicks I thought I'd help out and run a simple protein concentration assay (Bradford method) (http://www.carnegieinstitution.org/first_light_case/horn/PROTsite/bradford.html). Looked down at my left arm and noted that my forearm was bandaged.

Some long hallways, some people I knew, and now the mixing in of some Downers. Stood up on some lookout like the mushroom ones that jut out of the hills of our local city's hills. Think of a large circular concrete platform that has a railing to keep you from falling sticking far out from the side of a steep hill. Anyway, these had a rusty appearance, and there were few people about. Of particular note were these two Downers that were hanging out with these two twin women - I'd call the twins by name but that'd mean nothing to you. These two person have wolflike features - it's the hair and eyes - and surely my dream memory fudged some of the details.

So the four are acting like teenagers, climbing over the railing and hanging by their hands. You see this behaviour (been there, done stupid) in young males when females are about. So this is going on and I'm watching, now (as I am now) out of that hormonal silliness. And I'm shaking my head. The four, or at least the two non-twins seem to notice my presence, but, like teenagers, give me no more attention than they would a tree. They continue with their dangerous thrill-seeking. My arm twinges; it's the left one. I look down, and the bandage has a number written on it. The font colour is red. It's the number 1.

I know (somehow) now that one of them is going to lose his grip and fall. And it's not one of the twins. A pair walks by, and now it's one of the twins that sees me, and she glances sideways-like and smiles, and I know that she knows.

I have to warn them. My arm twinges again.

...

Upon waking, I actually checked my arm.

After a year and a half the 'Downers came to my sleep! Hurray!

It was a gathering of the 'Downers of a sort. I remember too little of it...

But anyhow I remember that I was feeling pretty good, delighted I might say. Lommy was there understandably, but also Volo, Rune and Spawn, Spm and Di and many of you others as well (I just remember these well enough to name them) - as a mixture of their RL looks and their avvies. :D

Two things I recall quite clearly.

I was lying in the grass under a tree with Boro and we were exchanging words of mutual friendship just lying there while the sun shone from between the leaves of the tree. It was a nice moment.

There was also a general whisper that Lhuna and her mysterious brother (not Nilp - so who?) would be responsible for the special athmosphere that would follow soon in the gathering. That kind of gave everyone the creeps and we all were waiting enthusiatically for what she and her brother would come up with...

Sadly my radio-alarm woke me up before I had a chance to learn what it was! :(

I had a dream in which Ms. Encaitare made a cameo - she left me a rep in the style of "Alice' in Chains's 'Them Bones'" (?), which basically explained that her row of random items was neater than three other Downer's row of random items. And she had the screenname of "Hio_Pio" or something quite similar.

I've had two Hookbill dreams recently. In the first, he was also a first year going to the same Uni as me. Alas, this is not the case, or much nerdiness and fun would have ensued. In the other, I was on his facebook looking at the map of countries he'd been to. There was a LOT of countries shaded in, but what was oddest was their location. For example Hookbill had been to most of Central America - Nicaragua, Honduras, etc. - but bypassed the USA and Canada. He's been to all the Caucasus countries and the Asian former-USSR countries, but managed not to visit much of Europe. Bizarre man...

During Day 2 of Legate's WW game, I dreamt that Rikae changed her vote to me. Which was kinda upsetting.

By far the most interesting dream I've had for a while follows. A group of Downers had decided to have a werewolf game. However, we'd all congregated in real life for it, and we had it in a caravan!

I came in late, after the game had already started, in the middle of Night. The wolves, Brinniel and Mac, had separate quarters, and welcomed me to the game. They showed me to the innocent quarters - but then they tried to jump in after me to kill some innocents. I shut the door on them.

I can't remember much else. Diamond18 emerged as an innocent at some point, and Rikae was shown to be the last wolf, but that's all I know...

I recall having a dream a few days back about reputations:

I had posted something really weird and pointless (I think it was a list or something), and for some odd reason received several reputations for it. And even after all those reps, I still wasn't on top of the rep list because some fictional member named bil-bal was. He was a new member with only two posts, and I couldn't figure out why he was so popular. So, I went to read his posts only to discover that they were extremely long (like 3-4 pages on Word long). I attempted to read the posts, but it was all nonsense to me (I'm not even sure it was completely Tolkien related). Apparently, everyone who read his posts repped him because they were so awed by the length, and even though what he wrote was nonsense, it was very intelligent nonsense...

So, if someone named bil-bal ever registers onto the BD, we all better watch out. ;)

I'd been meaning to mention this...

I dreamt recently that I was at work during the school year, though the library I work in had apparently undergone rennovation. It was a story or two taller and had several spare staircases. The top floor was more like a lounge. In any case, I wasn't quite to work, really. I was in my dorm, running a bit late. I knew I was going to be a minute or two late because I needed to grab food and a cup of coffee on my way. And my phone rang.

"Hey, Fea."

"..."

"It's me, [the phantom]."

"How'd you get my number?" Ever logical, yours truly. Worried about the details.

And he explained something about how he'd done something incredibly clever and he'd had my cell number for a while, but as he hadn't needed to use it, he didn't bother mentioning it, and whatever.

"Okay. So you need it now?"

"I'm in town. I thought we might meet up and have coffee or something."

"I'm on my way to work."

"I know. I was going to stop by."

"Right. I've got to go. I'm going to be late and I still need food and coffee."

And so I promptly forgot he'd called and went to work. A short time later, as I was shelving or something (though it seemed more interesting in the dream than it ever does for real), I remembered he was coming.

So I made a point to head up to the top floor of the library where I found him studying with a pretty girl who happened to be his girlfriend.

"Hey, Fea."

"Hi. Sorry, I forgot you were here."

"No problem. Just watching the game." And I realize there's a television broadcasting some sort of sport.

"You know I can't stay long, right? I mean, I'm at work."

"Yeah, that's fine."

I think he may have mentioned Boromir88.

It was certainly interesting...

It was over a week ago that I had a weird dream. In the dream I was walking the streets of Kulosaari (a part of Helsinki in which there are lots of little villas and where I lived as a child) with some RL-friend. Suddenly I saw Lalaith. She was a tall, athletic blonde woman, around 30 years old. Her hair was tied back and she was wearing khaki shorts and a yellow top. She was rollerskating with sticks. (The sort of sticks you use when you're skiing or nordic walking etc.) She moved very quickly. She was rollerskating, because she couldn't walk, because her leg was broken. And she rollerskated very quickly and I tried to follow her, but I was too slow. I cursed myself, because I was slower than someone, whose leg was broken. And Lalaith kept laughing. In a friendly way, though.

Another vaguely werewolf one, I think, though I'm not sure as it's so hazy. Diamond was in my house and we had just received our werewolf roles. Once again, I think this was a case of real-life werewolf. We both got a little panicky and started locking windows and such. Also, my house was oddly dillapidated...

In another one, I was in a large building, kinda of like a hall, with pillars to hold the roof up. It was made of blue stone and was quite dark and depressing. I met Mac, who was looking quite distraught, because, as he told me, Rikae was ill. So we went to visit Rikae, who was lying in bed in a room. But she wasn't too bad - she could talk and all - so I wandered off to find LMP, who berated me for taking so long to reply to his PM, and something about Farael too... Either he was annoyed that I replied to Farael before him, or he was annoyed with me so he said he would send PMs only to Farael thenceforth...

Amazing, there are still a couple of other dreams, but they're now void of all details except names, so I wont mention them.

Last night I had an odd little dream.
I was on a train going somewhere, I cannot remember where, with a friend of mine. When we got to the station we saw Gil-Galad and the Phantom. They started laughing at my friends name for some reason. Then we walked up some stairs that seemed to go on for ages. When we got to the top we were in Lord's Cricket Ground and there was a game on. But the players refused to play while the Phantom was there because he had recently done something to the batsman.
The last thing I remember was us all running around looking for the exit but they were all filled with boxes of cricket balls.

Finally a dream without wargs or wolves or the sense of simmering evil. The dream that I had last night took its typical twists and turns through my past, present and possible future, but for a moment it hovered at the Downs.

There was to be some sort of fund raiser, not for the Downs but by the Downs for someone or something in need. Estelyn Telcontar contributed her writing desk, on which her keyboard sat, that formerly was the same desk that some saint from long past used to beautifully illuminate vellum tomes. The thing was priceless, or at least at my salary, and was dear to her, but she was willing to donate it to the cause anyway.

Sometimes even I can dream nice.*

*Note that my youngest slept, for the first time in her life, through the night for two consecutive nights.

I had a couple of innovative werewolf dreams last night, the second with strong Harry Potter influences which I'm sure you'll understand given the current climate.

In the first, on a werewolf game, Mith and two other female-Downers whose names I've forgotten were wolves. I had a new role, the Hearer (like the Seer, see?). As Hearer, I could read all of the PMs the wolves sent to one another.

In the second dream, we were playing werewolf in real life again, all sitting on chairs in a hall. I can only remember a few of the people there - the two wolves, Brinn and Lhuna. I think we lynched Brinn, but something very odd happened with Lhuna. Instead of being lynched, she was exorcised. In my dream, she morphed into a single sweetcorn pod. The middle part, the Werewolf, was squeezed out of her, making her innocent. Then she turned into a human again.

To prevent Lhuna reaching her exorcised-wolf-soul again, somebody used a levicorpus spell (technically it should have been wingardium leviosa) to raise it far above her head, and a shield charm to protect it against intrusion.

I think, later on, there was an Accio Lhuna spell from a different room, but that's it.

I wonder if Kath is using all of these dreams to study my sanity...

Sweetcorn pod? But sweetcorn - not pod - what fruit type -?

*shuts up*

I think Levicorpus is more appropriate, because souls are, well, not inanimate. Don't you think it would be wonderful to see wolf-souls dangling in the air with their ankles up?

Accio Lhuna? Now why would anyone want to say that? :D

Well...Lommy having dreamt of me, I can now return the compliment.
Last night, I dreamt that Lommy and Nogrod were coming on the (RL) annual large group holiday that we go on with our friends. I was pleased about this as I had recently met and spent an afternoon with Lommy. She looked nothing like her photo: dark-haired with pale skin, rather Italian/Winona Ryder looking. I was very impressed with her intelligence and focus - she was, despite her youth, attempting to set up her own publishing house, and was searching for suitable investors.
Anyway, despite looking forward to the holiday, I was anxious because a. I didn't know if anyone had been told Lommy and Noggie were coming and b. I couldn't remember who had been in charge of booking it and was worried it was supposed to be me, and I hadn't.
Then I dreamt that I realised it was all a dream and so I posted about it on here. And now I am posting. Am I dreaming? Who knows.

Now, as we can see from graph one, all three of us are having BDs dreams more frequently these days. Proof that the Downs is taking over our lives.

Graph two shows us how many dreams it takes for our subconscious to dream of a completely new Downer whom we haven't dreamt of before. All three graphs curve upwards. This is because we've dreamt of so many people that it's becoming increasingly difficult to dream of new people.

Graph three shows the average population of each dream. My dreams are very sparsely populated compared to the girls'. Oddwen remains stable while Lommy's and my dreams are slowly becoming more and more populated.

And, just for fun, the total dream count (of just us three, of course):

I had me the first BD dream I've had in a while...I dreamt that Rikae was driving me to her home to meet sir Macalure, but the way was strange. There were multitudes of goats along the causeway, and Rikae explained to me that there were good goats and evil goats, but since goats ruled the land you must give way to all goats.

"This must be Canada," I thought in my dream.

Anyway, we arrived at her home, and met Mac. I was waking up about then, so all I remember is he had a really big head.

I think Orominuialwen may have been mentioned somewhere in there as well.

I had a Barrow Down dream! Or rather a BD section of another dream. I was on a road trip with an unidentified other and stopped at a house and asked to see Envinyatar. We were shown to his study which was a converted double decker bus and rather fab. Envinyatar, was much shorter than I expected (average height - his RPG characters tend to be very tall). Unfortunately, once again it finished before much could be said, and my dream moved me back home where for some reason I had to cook for about 50,000 people. Suprisingly this did not faze me despite the fact I was in my own tiny and malfunctioning kitchen. Then someone told me that we had 1,473 people left to feed and I looked at the food on the table (just the amount for a normal family Sunday lunch), and said "this isn't going to be enough" - rather self evident since it was clear that the "family hold back principle wouldn't suffice - and when clamly to prepare more. then the alarm went.

I had a Diamond dream recently. She was amazed that houses cost as much as £14000 in the UK (in reality they cost 20 times more) when a flat in New York would only cost £1000 (I also doubt the validity of this claim).

We went to NY to look for a flat for her. There was this building full of empty flats, but Diamond wanted one overlooking a certain road at a certain height and with certain specifications. So, unfortunately, we couldn't find anything for her. On the plus side, I could fly and met some primary school teachers in the flats.

I had this dream last night where for some odd reason I was on holiday in this seaside cottage, opened the door and I was in the town centre of a very wet and rainy Southport. To avoid disappointment I told davem we'd at least go and have a look at Broadhurst's bookshop and told him he was bound to find some old tome that he just had to buy. However we got there and instead of being this Victorian building with little rooms, stuffed four storeys high with dusty old second hand books, some chain had bought it up and had turned it into a horrible 'open plan' modern style bookshop on just two storeys. It had no old books any more, and no fireplace to sit in front of, nor did they wrap your books in brown paper and string but stuck them in a carrier bag. In my dream I came on the Downs and begged Mr Hookbill to take the train forthwith to Southport and make sure my nightmare had not come true!!!

And then guess what...I suppose this is just the same thing?!

Lal, I have actually recently been in said bookshop. It is still nice and old style. There is an old man who works there... Or at least, I think he works there. He is asleep all the time, but sits in the corner of the second floor room. They have quite an extensive Tolkien collection. I got my copies of HoME 8, 9 and 10 from there. I may go again to see if they have the other Tolkien biography, the one I don't have.

Incidentally, I had a dream last night that involved some Downers. I only remember snatches of it, but it, for some reason, involved Eomer and lal trying to break into a bank but when the alarm went off they threw a bag of money to me and said 'run!' So we all ran away from the police, going up a set of glass stairs for some reason and occasionally taking a glass lift. It was, apparently, bulletproof glass, which was good because the police kept shooting at us.
I found this really odd, because both Lal and Eomer are police officers in the Downer world.

I had a bit of a fever Saturday night. And everyone knows the best thing about having a fever is the weird dreams.

My odd dream featured no Downers (I think), but was certainly Downs related.

I was in a huge barn with a Werewolf. I had a lighter and there was hay everywhere. I was grabbing handfuls of hay, setting it ablaze, and attempting to touch it to the fur of the Werewolf. I pursued the Werewolf from one end of the barn to the other, climbing ceiling beams, leaping over equipment, and charging up stairs and ladders (there were many levels in this barn). I managed to get a spark on the beast several times, but it was always able to put it out by rolling on the ground or beating the flame with its hands.

After quite a bit of this, the Werewolf seemed to realize that it was, in fact, a Werewolf, and should be doing the chasing rather than being chased. So I spent the next little bit leaping off things and climbing up things, only this time I was the hunted. I still had my lighter, and with the creature constantly trying to get close to me I had many opportunities to burn the Werewolf- which I did. It was fairly repetitive. I tried to create some distance, it closed in on me, I set it on fire, and then I moved away while it put out the flames. And then the same thing again.

Eventually there were burning piles of hay everywhere, and even the walls were BBQing. I climbed up onto a high loft that had an open window- the only way out of the building. The Werewolf jumped up after me. I set the loft ablaze, threw the lighter at the Werewolf (which set it on fire for the hundredth time), and then I jumped out the window, somehow pulling it shut behind me.

My dream ended with me gazing at the blazing barn and wondering if the beast was dead.

Quite the convention last night, kids.

An invitation to a graduation party. (But wait... I know him... he graduates the same time I do, and I'm not quite there yet! Not like it matters...)

And I'm well aware that this particular friend of mine (in my dream, though certainly not in reality) is a member of The Barrowdowns! Crazy.

And the day of the party arrives.

And I'm there, for some reason hanging out outside my car instead of going in. Maybe it's because I'm early.

And JennyHallu joins me, exclaiming and being generally lovable (and pointing out that there was something stuck between my teeth).

And she points to the group I haven't joined, but have been watching.

Rikae and Mac, and I see Mithalwen with a bottle of wine, and a few people are toting children, and Lal might even be there, though I don't think Dave is. And TGWBS, and Keeper of Dol Goldur who completely doesn't count as a Barrowdowner when I dream about him, otherwise I'd be posting a rather lot more. Nogrod may have been floating around, and if he was, Lommy was certainly there.

And my parents, and like half of my extended family, and a load of people from school, but they don't really count.

And so we all eventually ended up in the house. And I have reason to believe there were people ice skating indoors. And, from a location kneeling on the immaculately white sofa, we looked out the West Window (I know because somebody said "And now, if you'll all convene at the West Window...") and watched the sun rise over a mountain. I had an Anguirel dream a while ago that deserves reporting now. In a month, I won't be able to fairly report Ang-dreams, so here goes.

Er... he was at my cousin's wedding. My sister was excited because she thought that Ang was as intelligent, and thus as absent-minded as me. I tried to explain that, actually, he was more intelligent, to the point that he wasn't absent-minded. Then Ang started doing a weird dance, kind of ruining my point.

A few nights ago I dreamed that Mith and Boro were dead. It was a very sad dream. I can't recall much of it, except that I kept weeping and Mithalwen was some kind of a seer and Boro was a bulky man with curly dark hair (looked like a sturdier version of the actor Ioan Gruffudd), his initials were I.O. and he had wife and three or five little daughters.

I had a bit more pleasant dream last night. In it I was discussing with Legate and Gil about something in some thread in the Quiz Room. Suddenly I and Gil were in my lower secondary school with my sister and a RL friend of mine and I was questioning Gil about the murder of an Elven girl. I insisted he had killed her and in the end he said: "Okay, I did stab her. Now leave me alone."

Weird.

Hmm...being dead in a dream a long with Mith, quite an interesting dream there, Thinlo. :D

And me looking like the handsome Ioan Grufford isn't even the most interesting part. If I had 3 daughters (don't even want to think about 5!) I would probably admit myself into a hospital. Oh boy, 3 little Boro girls running around...I can't even imagine the insanity.

Following on a discussion from Oxonmoot - there is no precedent in Tolkien for five sisters ..you have to go to Austen surely and have Jane, Elizabeth, Mary, Lydia and Kitty... and we all know that Mr Bennet spent a lot of time in his study while his wife went demented...

But while I wouldn't want to deprive Boro of the vast amount of pink stuff, fights over custody of the bathroom and general "amusement" that five daughters would provide.. I would prefer not to be dead, for a long while yet, even in such illustrious company so I hope it is not prophetic. cool:

And I am not sure about being a seer - I do have moments of intuition but for a while I thought I was getting some sort of mystic message when numbers "came to me" when I still did the lottery ..then I realised they were just my old bank card PIN

Borowyn is rather catchy...I like it. But I've always had a strange desire to name my first daughter Calypso. Maybe that's why I haven't found the right woman yet...because no one (that I've met) has any interest in naming their daughter Calypso.

Ok, if you say so. But, come on, if you had a choice of living or having a once in a lifetime oppurtunity of being buried next to moi (who in this dream resembles the stunning Mr. Grufford)...you wouldn't take the latter? :p

On the train home today I fell asleep (I was so unused to having to, you know, get up in the morning) and had an odd dream...

I was in Oxford again for no reason and I saw Squatter and Lommy trying to get into a shop. They insisted that the shop had some unreleased Tolkien book about the blue wizards and they didn't want narfforc to get hold of it. Lommy said she would distract the owner of the shop with a penguin she had. to my surprise the owner of the shop (who looked very much like Davem) followed Lommy with the penguin down the road. So Squatter went in and ran off with the book. Then narfforc came and demanded that I hand over the book, I said I didn't have it, but he refused to believe me. Then he pulled out a gun and I woke up.

Weird, no?

I had a very odd dream last night. In the dream I was sent to study to a scoohl called Ottawa School for Disrespectful Girls ( ) that was in London. My host family was to be some people called the Beckhams and I was told to go to see a guy called David Beckham when I arrived in London. I thought: "How very funny. Someone seems to consider this a good parnk or something, but I don't." However, when I rang the doorbell in the correct address, the person who came to open the door looked just like David Beckham, though he had different hair. He welcomed me to his home. I sat at the kitchen table and told him about my flight and about myself. Now, as you know, people shift identities in dreams, and suddenly it was Mith, not David Beckham who was listening to my babbling. I remember I was nervous because I spoke English so poorly and I tried to talk less because I was afraid Mith would think I was a moron if I chatted endlessly about nonsense. (At this point I may add that I'd far rather be hosted in Mith's home than David Beckham's. :D)
Now what does Boro have to do with this? Well, he and Farael were teachers in the Ottawa School for Disrespectful Girls!

Now if someone had a weirder dream last night, I congratulate him/her.

I don't remember anyone's powers, but I do remember driving Rune to visit a statue of a baron that had dissed him on his last visit, and going away hurriedly before it could recognize him and raise the alarm.

I'd compete. Although my dream has nothing to do with the Downs, it sure was wierd. It took place in a great big water-park-like-thing in Alaska (maybe) and there were four teams trying to do something (not sure what), but it was useful to plan out a strategy and possibly make an alliance.

It's too wierd to explain. I guess that means I lose.

It was a brief moment in a weird dream (aren't they all?) that ended somewhere where I was trying to figure out whether I had a project due (in college), what classroom I was supposed to be in, if there were anything due for that class that I was going to be late for, and what day was it anyway. This, of course, was the start of the old anxiety dream that would happen when I actually was in college, but since then the rational mind has prepared an antidote, like when was the last time I actually had no idea what day it was (except when I am initially waking up), what were the chances I would not have some schedule written down, and was I ever that forgetful that I'd forget a critical assignment?

But anyway, as I scurried to my next location, which I wasn't sure of but followed the crowd hoping that I was in the same class as they were in, I happened to glance sideways at an entranceway ornately adored with woodwork and glass, and above there were the the words, "the Tolkienization of..."

Of what? I guess I'll never know as I was pushed along with the crowd, and so never got more than a glimpse. I did see some books displayed within the glass cases, and this entranceway seemed to be the door to an entire museum, but...I wanted to go back and take a picture, as I thought, "Won't this make a great post for the Downs?"

Maybe next time. ;)

But the reason I'm here.... I had a dream, a long time back, where I got into a HUGE argument about something Tolkien... but I mean HUGE, it seemed to be heading to a fist-fight before I woke up.

Today, I had a dream that me, Lommy, Kath and Rune were going somewhere by bus through the countryside. We were discussing something during all the journey, but I don't remember what. I remember Rune had enormous rucksack (and he looked like Karl Marx, of course). In the end we arrived at our destination, and I remember the end was very sad, because we had to part. That's about all I remember from it.

EDIT: Oh, and something else I remembered now. It was also that (we knew) on the forum, Lommy had some signature, from a poem or something, which was very sophisticated (and I did not understand it), and it had something to do with cauldrons.

And also there was something that (while we were riding, probably), Rune stopped at a mini-market to buy some sort of cakes with strawberry jam. I think that there was something that either the saleswoman accused him of stealing, or that he accused one of us of stealing. I am not sure.

Last night I fell asleep looking for the answer to the trivia question. Here is the result...

Anyway, all the contestents were in my kitchen, and The Might was in the corner standing, and the rest of us, except me, were all sitting. I was standing by the fridge watching people, probably looking for clues. The Might asked a trivia question, and Macualare(sp?) said "So ----- is the answer?" (I can't remember the word, it was really weird). TM looked at him funny and said something to the effect of "good job, you just told the other team the answer." TM asked another question, and Mac did pretty much the same thing. We all started laughing, but then I realised, and said, that he hadn't come up with quotes, so if my team could find the quotes, we would get the extra points. I think by the end I figured that I wouldn't be able to, because the way the questions were constructed the answer was one of the words flipped backwards, so no quote would apply.

Dream ended about here, but I will add that all I remember of how everyone looked, was I believe everyone had dark hair, and Mac looked alot like the picture of TM found on the picture page.

Finduilas's dreams are affecting mine. The night after Finduilas had her trivia match dream, I had mine.

I went to the petrol/gas station that is near my dad's place. It was late night and I was going to buy something, I don't recall what. When I entered the station I noticed that my trivia match team (Macalaure, Folwren and Gil-Galad) were sitting on the floor of the station and they had playing cards in their hands. They were trying to solve the current trivia question. There were two people of the other team in the station as well. I'm not sure who they were but I think they were Gwathagor and Finduilas. I joined my team mates and we were gloating to the other team as there was four of us present and of the other team there was just people.
Then we got bored of sitting on the petrol station floor and went to another place. It was a room with wooden walls. In the middle of the room there was a huge trampoline-like construction made of a big light blue sheet spread over wooden poles. Mac, Folwren and Gil climbed on it and started jumping. I was a bit sceptic as I didn't trust the sheet to be strong enough to be stood on, not to mention jumping. "Come on, it's perfectly safe", Mac told me. "Yes, it is, come on", Folwren echoed. Gil wasn't concentrating on us at all, just jumping up and down. "Okay then", I agreed hesitantly and climbed on the "trampoline". I started jumping. "See, it's perfectly safe. Just like we said", Mac said. For a few seconds we all four were jumping merrily, but then the sheet cracked/tore below me and I fell to the floor.

Now I know a psychologist would make an interesting analysis of this and of how I see our team but I don't even want to know...

Last night I had a rather long and weird dream, can't remember most of it, but I do remember that at one point, I was standing in a group of people trying on a light blue satin dress which was either a prom or bridesmaid dress, but I think I was trying it on for a play. I did that once in reality, wore a modified prom-or-bridesmaid dress in a Shakespeare play. Anyway, it was a bit too small and I couldn't get it fastened even though I was wearing a corset underneath. Supposedly I had worn this dress before and it fit alright. So I said something like, "I think I got too fat for this."

Rune, who was sitting nearby, spoke up, "Yes, you're quite fat." Then before I could say anything in reply he added, "You deliberately baited me into saying that to start a fight."

I replied, "Well, I'm not 18 anymore."

There was more after that but there were no Barrow Downers. I woke up and went back to sleep and in my next dream, there was a werewolf who had lost her daughter, and she howled mournfully, but that's all I remember.

Nogrod demanded that the people with the magical skills should come out and swear not to use them during the game. Mac seconded this idea. First, Legate came out and promised not to use his magic skills. Then, Volo wrote a long post in which he promised not to use his skills, but he added the word "maybe" in a very tiny font at the end of the post. Finally, I posted and declared I would not make such a ridiculous promise.

Now, what does that tell about the latest ww-game? :D

I had a dream last night which kind of struck me as odd. I was coasting through the downs and noticed that Celuien of all people had plans to visit where I'm going to school... I suggested that I give the Ribbiter a tour of my campus --Volo offered to join us-- and instantly I was in the airport waiting for her. Long story short I gave the tour pointing out mundane instalations and the university center turned into a very, very large Wal-Mart like ...store. There were computers sitting around to direct people like one might use in a library to locate books... we were going to check out the downs, but I woke up (after Volo got lost on the way to the bathrooms) but I woke up before we ever reached the machines.

I'm pretty sure if I did dream that far it would cycle back through the previous events.

Unfortunately, I don't remember almost anything from a dream I had today, but it was very long, very epic and very pleasant - which is just a vague recollection based on the feelings I had when I woke up. I remember only that there were some of my fellow students, a journey on train to northwestern Bohemia, Lommy (which is why I write that here), my cousin's place where we play RPGs when we do, and at least one of my friends from that RPG group. Very odd indeed. But with your name it's quite understandable.:D

Anyway, tonight I had another Downish dream and this time I remember something of it! In the first part of the dream, SpM was lurking in sewers and killing us (=me and some other people, given the logic of the dream there were probably also some Downers present) one by one. In the second part, me, my brother, my grand-aunt, Volo and several little children (probably was supposed to be something like a camp for children, because my grand-aunt was doing things like that) were riding on bikes. I remember Volo's bike changed into a motorbike at certain point, and he could not drive it. Then suddenly we were in fact in a tram, which looked like a... hmm... well, imagine a cabriolet tram :D But we were in several little waggons, similar to these roller-coaster waggons, you know? The continuity was preserved, technically they were still bikes, or the bikes changed to them, only they were connected and there was a driver in the front who was driving it all. He was totally stupid and he started to drive too fast, he left the railway and suddenly was driving down a hill very, very fast. I knew there was going to be trouble, but at that moment the waggons turned into normal bikes and my brother crashed into a car. It was the driver's fault, of course.
Then there was the third part of the dream, and that was that I was in a classroom in some (probably) elementary school (or so it looked like) and Mac was a teacher and looked like Boro's avatar. There were many other Downers in there, but the only one whom I remember surely was Mithalwen. We were to write a latin test. I was a little bit afraid, because I did not know much, but the test proved not to be too hard. There were sentences in English and we had to translate them to Latin, and they were like: "The Balrog is in Moria." "I live in the Dark Tower." "When the Balrog comes, the Wizard loses." When I was translating the latter sentence, I woke up.

Ooh, I just had a Barrow Downs dream from a nap I took (yes, I take naps...don't judge me! :p ).

So, the dream started off in this big building. I think it was a building full of film studios and there was some sort of shoot going on because a whole bunch of people (including an old professor) tried to hand me random stuff, thinking I was a Production Assistant, and I had to tell them, "No, I'm not here for that." Because I wasn't.
Originally, I was there because a bunch of Downers decided to gather in a small room of that building to play WW with a boardgame. And the players who couldn't make it would just play as they always do online. I can't remember all the Downers that were there...I do believe Holbytlass was there, though she temporarily changed her name to Halloweenelass (I'm not sure why since Halloween is long over). We weren't expecting Lommy and Volo to show up since they'd have to travel all the way from Finland to the US, but surprise, surprise, they came after all.
Before we ever got started with WW, my dream turned into an orchestra performance arranged last minute in the same building, but a different room. Most of the Downers disappeared, but Lommy and Volo were there, and we sat in chairs with our violins. Then for some reason, I started arguing with Volo; I think he was trying to correct my pronounciation of an English word, and I was irritated because I don't like being corrected. We kept going at it, and finally, Lommy (who was sitting in the middle of all this) screamed for us to "Shut up!" My reaction was, "Wow, Lommy's kinda mean. I expected her to be nicer." I was suddenly really mad at her, but I suspect the real reason behind it was that I was simply frustrated because we were about to perform and be judged at playing a theme from the LotR film without any prior practice. And of course, I totally sucked because I hadn't even touched my violin for over five years.
Suddenly, Lommy turned into my roommate, and though now a different person, I was still mad and glaring at her all day. I noticed she was given a crappy lunch which involved a giant pickle and I was happy. And then I woke up.

Yeah, it was weird, though it made a lot more sense than most of my other dreams.
It was my first Downer dream in a long time. And usually my Downer dreams are too vague to post, but not this one. :)

I fell asleep a while ago and I just woke up from one of the best dreams EVER! :D

There was a TARDIS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TARDIS) in my back garden for some reason. So I went inside it and was trying to fly it (rather unsuccessfully) and I ended up landing in lalwende's back garden (knocking over some plants and scaring a cat, I believe). She came out of her house and demanded to be let in so I opened the door. Davem came in as well and told me that the TARDIS wasn't in the Legendarium and snickered at us as we tried to fly it.
Soon enough we found ourselves twenty years in the future and we found lal and Davem's son was some sort of professor of science and was trying to build a space ship to take him to a mysterious planet (for some reason he resembled professor Yana from the latest series of Doctor Who). While lal and Davem investigated this I tried to get the TARDIS working and accidentally ended up in ancient times where I met a none-downs friend. She was trying to convince some Romans that they were going the wrong way, but they insisted that 'all roads lead to Roam' commenting on the road signs that pointed to 'roam' in all directions. She then joined me in the TARDIS and we went to some alien planet where Legate was being taken prisoner and we tried to save him, but unfortunately his crimes were 'very serious' and he was put to death in a mangle. :(
Then Rune showed up for no reason with Spawn.

...Except for my death sentence :( And in a mangle?!? Brrr... not that I don't like being in someone's dreams, but if it were to go like that, I'd rather save it, thank you very much... at least I can say that on Barrow-Downs, I am already dead, so such a thing cannot harm me... well, maybe this way of execution will make me a little flat, hm...

Last night I had a dream I was in some shop, looking at a calendar featuring half-naked men. On the front page was the name of the person who had taken the pictures, designed the calendar or whatever: Rune son of Bjarne (and his last name was there also, so there's no mistaking). I remember thinking "Oh dear, I never imagined Rune would do something like that."

I hope tp likes to play "Call of Duty 4" because he sure does in my dreams.

I was with tp and my friend, Mike, we were playing multi-player over the internet. Some how, it ended up to where it was us 3 against 6. Since we were outnumbered, and I was at the pathetic level 4, Mike was in the 30s, and tp was at a level I had no idea you could get to...the strategy became have me serve as canon fodder and just run around attracting as much attention as possible. While I was doing that Mike and tp would pick everyone off. Eventhough I died 38 times, we still won the match, and tp had a strange attraction to running up on people and knifing them.

I had a dream today that consisted of several parts. I don't remember all of it anymore, but some flashes:
- There was a new member at the forum, named something1234, who said that he/she is in fact an old member who had not been here for a long time. He/she commented that: "It has changed a lot here from 2002, (precise formulation following) it's not as saint here as it used to be." And continued: "I think we should stop calling each other Mr. and Mrs. on the forum and call each other Sir and Madam. I hope all the rockers are going to agree with that." Yes, that was very weird.
- My mobile operator once again invented some sort of special service for customers, that you send an SMS to them and one of the (live) operators calls one of your contacts and says something to them. Like: "Happy birthday". (Imagine that silliness, but maybe they would be capable of doing that.) In my dream, I accidentally used this service and sent one such a "message" to Lommy.
- Some Downers wrote that they have too much work as students nowadays, and everybody suddenly started to write that they support them and so on. Raynor wrote some sentence in an undecipherable language, only I remember that it featured one Czech word. He then explained that it is a blessing used in the east-european hasidism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hasidic_Judaism) and that when one is making it, he has to focus on a piece of food. He wrote: "That's why I have a beefsteak in front of me now. Good luck."

I finally had my first Downs dream in several months. I'm sure there were a few more Downers involved, but since this was the last scene I saw before my mum pestered me into waking up, it's the only thing I remember.

My entire line of sight was covered by the Downs, as though I'm an ant looking at a computer monitor and it was all I could see. The thread opened was the Downs Newspaper. davem posted a news article about something, I forgot what it was, but it was dryly humorous. And then the next post came from Kath, who had a rather violent but still funny reaction to davem's news.

I don't know why davem was in my dream at all, but apparently it's perilous to my subconscious for me to be chatting with Kath at almost four in the morning. :p

I was talking with Legate in MSN or something like that and I told him my mother had actually been to a concert of Kent's recently. He replied something like: "Oh, cool, tell her that if she has some special wish about which songs should Kent play when they come to Finland again later this year, she can send me an SMS and I'll see to it. The Might sends such requests daily, he's a big fan of Kent's, you know."

I saw a dream about our merry old WW. After Kath & Legate were lynched the game ended, so I wrote a long post with short paragraphs about whom I think to be the remaining wolf by analysing everybody. I also tried to assure the players that I'm playing for the innocents.

After it Mith threw an one-liner and agreed with something. Then Aganzir posted wandering if my post should be deleted or not, as the game had ended, I was dead, I knew the roles and it was a Night-phase. Shasta tossed in some comment, and then Mith again. By that time I noticed that maybe I shouldn't have written the post and changed it into "private" so that none could see it.

Well, if I would have died when Kath died, why can't I come alive if I'm already dead to begin with?

I had a dreadfully bizarre dream the other night...

Rune, Legate and I were in a band and we had a performance at some seedy bar in Manchester. But all the other performers that were on before couldn't sing. Instead of words all the singers went, "Whhhrrraaeeearrreweaaarr!" continuously. Rune and Legate laughed ans said we would be the best of all the bands. But when we got on stage Rune (who was the singer) couldn't sing and just went "Whhhrrraaeeearrreweaaarr!".
I then deduced that there was a wizard in the room and challenged said wizard to show himself. Then Narffork stood up dressed as a blue wizard and started singing. He was then chased out.

Then I moved onto a different dream...

Ok now this was a really weird one. I only remember parts of it but, boy is it weird. Ok so it was set in like a court room of some sort. I was on trial for something that had to do with a PT. The Barrow wight was the judge, well lets just say a glowing green ghost was the judge, everytime he moved or said anything he would let out a WOOOOO!! He was like, "ok Valier WOOOOOO!! Why on earth should we give you a title WOOOO?" Then there was at least a few others there I remember. Rune was there, but his hair and beard were so long you couldn't see his face and all he kept doing was mumbling and hacking up hair. Mith sat in the first row. I'm not sure what she really looks like but in my dream she was tall and had long brown hair and very piercing eyes. She kept arguing that I should be called frothy feline, while Gil-Galad who for some reason was dressed like a viking kept shouting Fiesty! Fiesty!! and running around in a circle. Also Volo was there but he was hiding under a chair. That's about all the people I remember. All I know was that it was really loud, everyone was arguing while I sat glued (yes literally) to my chair. The Barrow Wight finally yelled for all the nonsense to stop, which it did after one more FEISTY!! from Gil and a No No No she's FROTHY from Mith and a final Wooooooo from the Wight. The Wight turns to me and says well Valier, I really don't think your cool enough yet. Woooooo You must become cooler. Then I cried. Then everyone began arguing again.

Lol then I woke up. Weird huh?

I tried to ask Rune using messenger if we could meet any day. By mistake I sent the message to a friend who is not even (maybe) listed in my messenger contacts. I had a weird dream featuring Rikae and Mac again. I really don't know why, but they seem to get to my weirdest dreams. :D

In the dream I was talking with Mac and Agan in MSN. Mac wanted to send us a love song he and Rikae had made and sung to each other. I think it was pretty awwww-worthy so I told him to go on and send it. Rikae and Mac both sang pretty well, especially Mac who was a professional singer in the dream. So, when I first listened to the song I thought it was quite nice and cute. But the song didn't sem to stop. It just went on and on. After 6 or 7 minutes I started wondering if there was any polite way of saying I don't want to listen to it anymore. Right then Mac said: "Oh, listen, now comes the Spanish part." They both sang a few lines in Spanish and Mac complained that he really can't pronounce Spanish. I said that as far as I knew, he was doing fine.

I had also another dream where I was visiting Rikae's house. (Mac and Nogrod were also there.) Rikae lived in a big manor and she had a few servants of her own. We had a lavish dinner and I and Rikae talked about literature. I also ended up giving a lecture about the differences of what it means if a Finn says something's good and if an American says something's good. (Because Rikae thought I hated Margaret Atwood, who was her favourite author, because I had said I think her books are "quite good".)

Manor? Servants? *ocl* Well, if by that you mean "tiny two bedroom house with the roof in desperate need of repair" and "three girls under the age of 8 smearing mud on the doorknobs", then yeah...
Margaret Atwood? I haven't read her in quite a while (actually, I covertly read my mother's copy of 'The Handmaid's Tale' when I was 8 or 9, until mom found out and took it away.) My favorite author at the moment is probably Virgina Woolf.... I just hope that doesn't influence people's subconscious impressions of me in Volo's game!

So I'm dreaming of being forced to dance on the backs of Galapagos sized snapping turtles in standing water. Normal enough, right?

But then I go into my grandparents' cabin and who should be sitting on the couch but Macalaure! Crazy!

On the far side of the cabin, in the kitchen, I see Rikae baking something with my grandma.

From the guest bedroomish direction, out walks Rikae's daughter, Lommy!

I hide my amazement and think to myself, they must either be secretly related to me, know my grandparents, or were driving along and got lost and my family invited them to stay forever.

So Rikae and Lommy went outside or something (but otherwise totally disappeared) and I tried to make polite conversation with Mac, but I'm conversationally inept around my family, so it was a little stilted.

"So I see we're playing werewolf together..."

"Yes."

And there was an awkward silence.

And then more sentences of the sort.

And then he started to talk in German, but I don't know German, and my grandmother yelled at me for being rude to the guests.

And I'm not entirely sure if my mother approved of me meeting all of you, even though you were visiting my grandparents.

Ahh, my mind.

^Now that is what I would call nit-picky... :p

Anyway, I had two BD dreams last night. The first one was quite horrible, the second one quite crazy.

In the first one, I heard about an explosion there had been in the healing houses of Rivendell (which was situated in Idaho). My first reaction was: "Oh my god, Brinniel was there!" I wanted to find out if she was alright, so I and my three closest friends tried to find a hospital from which we could call some Idaho hospital. It was quite difficult and I was thinking all the time: "I hope Brinn's not dead, I hope Brinn's not dead..." Aganzir (being one of those three friends) was thinking other things: "I just pity Oddwen. She has a horrible flu and no one's paying any attention to her - everybody's just thinking about Brinniel. Poor Oddwen, this always happens to her." We didn't find a hospital, but we found a library and I dashed to a computer and went to check BD, LiveJournal and Facebook if there were any news of Brinn. To my horror, there was a short message in her facebook page: "We lost both our daughters today. Our little Victoria, who was only 14 years old, has left this world. We are both heart-broken and comforted by the idea that her older sister Erin will be there to guide her to the other world. Our grief is endless. -Erin's mother". I just looked at it and thought it can't be true and started crying. Then I woke up. I was looking at the computer screen (which showed Brinn's facebook page) and my three friends were standing behind me. "Ir was only a nightmare, wasn't it?" I asked. My friends said they didn't know and that I should update the page (which was still showing the morbid message of Brinn's mother). I updated it and it disappeared. "So it was a dream!" I concluded and burst laughing, I was so relieved. I wrote Brinn a facebook comment saying: "I had a horrible nightmare last night." Then, the dream really ended.

It was quite a scary dream and odd too. I know it must sound comical (especially that Oddwen-part) but it really didn't feel comical at all before I woke up in the dream. But Rivendell's in Idaho? And Brinn has a little sister called Victoria?

The other dream was maybe as weird but far less depressing. In it, The Might had founded a mine and wanted to capture slaves to work in it. For some reason, he ended up choosing Nogrod (who was described as a "woodland sámi person"), the father of a friend of mine (he was described as a shaman), a Rohir man called Slimyhands and me.

Sadly, I woke up before anything else happened in the dream. I really wonder about that Rohir man and the descriptions of Nogrod and my friend's father... :D

I think that the very easy explanation could be that my subconscious messed up France and Philippines because they both start on F (at least if one is not writing that with English spelling). ;) But that's a mistake I would never make consciously and I don't even think French was supposed to be your mother language in that dream. But it's the only thing that I thought of right now.

While I am here, I might add that today I had a Downish dream (again). I won't be elaborating on that here fully, also I don't remember it all, but the point was that I missed certain Downer's birthday and I was sitting by the "Happy birthday" thread which was slowly filling with congratulations from all the Downers, only I was just sitting in there, thinking what better than just "happy birthday" should I post. And since I spent so much time sitting by there, whenever I got any idea of what I could post, I refreshed the page and saw that it was already posted meanwhile. The dream was really, really depressing - or at least I felt like that.

Oh, and I could also mention one funny detail, that among all the congratulations TM posted (with no connection to anything around) a short post saying: "My head does not look like a coloured helmet."

Mine, of course, Legate. :p

I just woke up from a BD dream. I was in a Werewolf game - it felt like it was a real life game but I didn't quite get the same heavy heart-thumping feeling I did the last time I dreamt of it, if I did dream of it at all - and we were several Days into it. The wolves were in a desperately mad hunt for the Seer so they began killing every which person they thought was the Seer (just like what Eomer and Oromin did in WW VII, when they had taken down dancing spawn and Elempi before Eomer, after Oromin's lynching, thought of killing Kath) and the person who had been killed the previous Night was Valier the Arranger, and Mandos had something to do with her death. I was wondering why it took the wolves so long to kill me, but I realised then that I was just an ordo Lover and they would not take any interest in killing me. And then late in the night, or it was very early morning, I was hiding from the wolves in my parents' room, then my dad awoke and asked me, "You're still alive?" Then he began asking me if I was taking the standard precautionary measures (whatever they were) to keep myself from getting killed.

Too bad I never found out who the other Lover was. :D

I suppose the dream about Brinn was horrible to experience but I thought it was really quite funny to read about. :Merisu: Especially the part about poor Oddwen and her flu...

I had a very long and disturbing dream the other night which had nothing to do with any BDer, but then at the very end I walked out of my grandmother's house and since, apparently, Rune lives across the street (who knew?) I went over there and he came outside wearing a fake a mustache and goatee and told me, very excitedly, that he was going to El Dorado. Then he started to sing and dance, and I wondered if it was from The Man of La Mancha but decided it was best not to ask, so I just smiled and nodded.

Sadly, Lhuna's advice came too late: I had already gone to sleep and as you might guess, I had BD dreams. :D The first one was quite vague and it involved almost all players of Nog's game posting something on the admin thread. Scarily enough, when I woke up there had been quite a many posts on the admin thread...

The second one was very odd. Or what do you think of this:

I was in a kitchen that looked suspiciously like Agan's kitchen. There was an identical kitchen next to it. I was in the first kitchen, Legate was in the second one. I did not have a cheese slicer but I needed one, so I went to Legate's kitchen to ask if he could borrow me one. I came back to my kitchen with the cheese slicer Legate had borrowed me and realised I didn't have cheese either, so I had to go back to Legate's kitchen and ask if he could borrow me some cheese as well.

*does not want to hear a freudian interpretation of this*

Well, I don't know what to say.

:)

It just suddenly seems to me now that the range of BD smileys is very limited. You would probably have to see my face.

I don't know: Lommy, do you want me to rep you or should I rather try to dream something similar about you?

...That is, if repping for a dream is "politically correct".

I really can't understand how you dream up such things.
Neither do I, but I'm glad of it...

Btw, if you have any sort of psychic ability Lommy, please do tell me now. Well, as you might see, I had that odd-ish admin-thread thing and earlier this year I dreamed of Farael right before he reappeared here in the 'downs after a long absence... So maybe you should avoid Rivendell just to be on the safe side. ;)

I don't know: Lommy, do you want me to rep you or should I rather try to dream something similar about you?If you can control your subcosncious, go on and have odd dreams... :D If you can't, well, I guess you have to be content with laughing at my very odd subconscious.

...That is, if repping for a dream is "politically correct".Politically correct? Is there some official code for which kind of things you can rep people? If there is, I'm probably breaking it all the time... :p

Hm, I only thought that in fact a dream is not intentional invention of yours (at least normally). Though your choice is to post it here to contribute to us having fun, so that is what you could be awarded for. And speaking of it, I recall I repped some dreams I liked even in the past, so it's already upon me.

:D :D

The night before last night I had a long and vague un-BD dream which featured a short episode with Mithalwen as a fairy godmother living in a creepy ghost manor full of spider webs and Nogrod playing a strategy computer game called "Commodus" against Legate in the internet.

At least I was not dead and I got a big house :D

After a long and odd introduction part (featuring a sulky Faramir who was wearing trendy glasses and Boromir leaving for Rivendell by tram) my last night's dream turned quite gruesome.

I came home and went to see my tortoise. In the dream, I also had another tortoise. When I looked to the terrarium to see if the tortoises were alright, I found a third tortoise. I picked it up to have a closer look at it. The most creepy part was that it had six legs instead of four. I dropped it and almost instantly I realised that my tortoise had two extra legs as well. And then I realised there were several other six or eight legged tortoises in the room. It was horrible. I climbed to sit on my bed (yes, climbed, I and my sis have a bunk bed and I'm sleeping in the upper bed) to be further away from the grotesque tortoises and wailed I must be cursed.

I heard a maniac laugh and a voice that told that my skin would be ripped off. So, suddenly I was without skin and wondering how could I still be alive. (Thank you, Nogrod, and your ww narrations... :p) Horrified, I tried to see how it had affected me. My bare arms looked pretty normal (so nothing like just muscles and bones), just paler and little red lines were everywhere. I remember I thought I didn't want to see how my face looked.

I decided to call my aunt and ask for advice if she knew any witch who could make a counter-course. She told me I should have a look at a text she would send me and that I should call an Indian witch who was in her forties. The text was a very long philosophic dialogue between Lhunardawen and a witch deity. I called the witch (who turned out to be Nerindel). She told me I should not trust Kath's advice, because "she can't see the reality. There's a wall full of holes between each human being and the reality. Kath, she can only see through those holes, nothing more. She can't remove the wall in her mind. Even you have more potential." And then, thankfully, she told me she'd help me.

After that I woke up. That was all too crazy and quite disgusting. I continuously have dreams of sinister extra tortoises popping out from places and something horrible happening to my little darling tortoise, but this was one of the most disturbing this far. The sight of a six or eight legged tortoise is something very, very creepy. Though, the part with Boromir and Faramir was just hilarious, and I find it funny what my dream said of Kath, who had just been revealed to be the seer in the current ww game before I went to sleep. :D

Seriously, Lommy, maybe you should stop playing WW for a while. Though it's true that the fear for your tortoise is understandable (while the six-legged thing isn't  ) and I could maybe think of other origins for the witches part as well, this is still all too creepy.

Well, at least there was the Boromir and Faramir part...

But I would like to pose a question whether Nogrod is sure the outcome of his narrations may not result in lifelong traumas among the readers?

But yes Lommy, a weird dream indeed...

Are you sure you're not neglecting the Myth (that's the name of her tortoise) and that's just your bad conscience reminding you about it?

Mehehehe Noggie's narration for my death gave me nightmares. :p

No seriously. I have some weird fear of eyes, and when I got lynched I got stabbed in the eye with a fork. I about threw up.

And I kept waking up in the middle of the night after dreaming that I'd been attacked by all the other villagers and stuff. I get WAY too involved in that bloody game. I have had some other interesting ones throughout this last game due to lack of sleep and general craziness, but they actually have something to do with the game itself and people who are still alive, so I'll keep those amusements to myself. :)

At last I can post this here, I have been waiting for this day for 3½ Days.

I had a very scary dream during the RL night of Day2 (Noggie's mad game). I was lying on my back half-asleep thinking about something completely WW unrelated. Suddenly I saw an image of a werewolf attacking me from above, the image was very clear, but it lasted only a few seconds. My whole body jerked into every possible directions at the same time and the image disappeared as soon as it appeared.

Never before has my body jerked like that. And never before was I as frightened while not even asleep.

Last night I dreamed that the phantom and one of his lackeys, I think it may have been Gurthang, were hired at my place of work. We were all three in the break room, admiring some new appliances, when I opened the fridge and saw gallons of barbeque sauce all on the side and the bottom drawer of the inside of it...I turned around to see phantom and Gurth running away and the dream ended with me chasing them through the production area screaming "Dude! I know it was you! Come back and clean this up!"

During the rare times I slept this last WW game (because really, I hardly did thanks to juggling many things at once), I seemed to be constantly dreaming about it.

Nothing specific, but I remember different scenarios during the Days kept playing through my head. Of course when I actually got up, it all went quite differently. I think there were times I actually got confused between what was really happening and what was just part of my dreamworld. Never has a WW game troubled my sleep so much.

Nothing new, don't worry, but I just noticed something very interesting when I was reading old posts on this thread:
Then, in another dream, Roa wanted to write a book about the Dueling Wizards WW. Because she wanted to set in a fantasy world of her own, she wanted to change some names and changed my name to Victoria. I was so angry with her, because in the dream I hated the name.
-- We didn't find a hospital, but we found a library and I dashed to a computer and went to check BD, LiveJournal and Facebook if there were any news of Brinn. -- What's up with all these Victorias? Or am I Brinn's 14-year old illegitimate little sister?

So odd...

Today I had a dream of which a part concerned myself reading a fantasy book by certain Polish author (Andrzej Sapkowski) that I haven't read for years, and to my surprise in one chapter near the end of the book I found names of several henchmen (?)/mercenaries (?) who served one person there (it was not originally in the book, though there were some similar moments), and the name of one of these men was Hookbill Goomba (i.e. name and surname). In the dream I thought "oh, so Hookbill must have read that as well, I didn't expect that".

Well, Hookbill, I can only tell you that these mercenaries or what they were, were really nasty robbers, marauders, murderers and everything. ;) :D :p
