a site of quotes, I found actually... although, I can't find that particular site now, thankfully I wrote down that quote however. smilies/biggrin.gif

And, no one has it yet.

That' s Eijah! I know for sure - he said that to a journalist who complained that LOTR was too complicated for her to read - or smth like that!
nice reply, don't you think?? quite appropriate smilies/biggrin.gif

ElenCala Isil
10-13-2003, 09:45 AM
YES!!! That's it! I thought it was quite appropriate. I'm so proud. *gets teary eyed*
I believe that she said LotR had 'too many big words'

You're up, Evisse! smilies/biggrin.gif smilies/biggrin.gif

This is talking about Viggo-

"yeah, it's Viggo, I'm eating chicken, I'm wearing brown trousers, the sun is shining..."

I couldn't find the link so sorry if my memory messed up!

Welcome to the Downs, Ithilienelf, and to the Quotable Quotes forum. smilies/smile.gif

The topics here are games, and in this game people have to guess which actor from the films said the given quote. So please wait for the next question to be asked and try answering it, rather than simply posting quotes from the actors that you like.

If you want to get involved in the games here, it's best to read the Quotable Quotes rules (http://forum.barrowdowns.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=6&t=000204) first, where all (or mostly all) will be explained. smilies/smile.gif

Yes, our dear Elijah has such a wonderful vocabulary, eh? Anywho, just a reminder for the next quote here. smilies/wink.gif

Eärendil
10-24-2003, 04:36 AM
I think it´s been more than a week now, so I´ll continue with a new quote.
My hopes are that this one will be as easy as the last of my quotes...*smiles*
With such a classic book, you really had to treat it as one project. And it just made complete sense to do all three at once.

Evisse the Blue
10-24-2003, 04:58 AM
PJ? -probably not, as it would be too easy for your fame, Earendil... smilies/tongue.gif

Eärendil
10-24-2003, 05:20 AM
Nope, it´s not PJ.
I just remembered that I won´t be able to be on the net next week, so I´ll PM the correct answer to Evisse. I hope you don´t mind?

The Saucepan Man
10-24-2003, 10:11 PM
I think it´s been more than a week now ...

For future reference, its 10 days not a week (see the Quotable Quotes rules (http://forum.barrowdowns.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=6&t=000204)). If someone thinks that they have 10 days and can't (for whatever reason) log onto the site, it's unfair to jump in before the 10 days are up. So please stick to the 10 day rule in the future.

Christopher Lee?

Dear Eärendil, oh great master of impossible quotes; I told you so didn't I? No two quotes in a row from you can possibly be easy to guess.

Okay, for the convenience of us guessers, here's a list of who's been guessed:

David Wenham (twice)
Andy Serkis
John Noble
Dominic Monaghan
Elijah Wood
Sean Astin
Orlando Bloom
Billy Boyd
John Rhys-Davies
Karl Urban (twice)
Miranda Otto
Liv Tyler
Viggo Mortensen
Craig Parker
Cate Blanchett
Ian McKellan
Hugo Weaving
Christopher Lee
Brad Dourif
Bret Mackensie
Sean Bean (twice)
Ian Holm
Bernard Hill

Current count: 23

So there you have it, folks. In chronological order, no less. That means that so far we've guessed 8 members of the Fellowship, all three pivotal women, and pretty much all of the other major characters, along with a scale double. So now I make my guess the only remaining member of the Fellowship.... Sean Bean. After this we'll have to resort to ultra-minor characters, unless I am gravely mistaken. And that's twenty guesses so far, twenty-one, counting mine. I think that's a new record.

ah, it probably was said by some other people, but no, Elijah wasn't the person I was looking for...

It's best to avoid quotes that might have been said by more than one person. Try to go for something that's likely to be unique to the person that said it - otherwise the game just turns into a list of all the actors in the films that spans two or three pages.

Okay, now an easy quote (I hope...)
I must admit, my parents haven't seen the film and I'd be quite embarrassed if they did.
No, the person is not speaking of LOTR. *smiles* Don´t be mad at me if I don´t answer before Monday, I have no access to the Internet in the weekends..

I don't know why, but I am going to guess Cate Blanchett {sp?} on this one. I doubt it's right because no one ever does her, but still.

Mariska - What a coincidence! *grins* The person quoted is Sala Baker, right? I have been reading inteviews the last few weeks with "less famous" actors from the films, and I came by a few interviews with Mr. Evil himself - Sauron, played by Sala Baker. In one of those interviews with him he says the exact sentence you posted! Bad for you, good for me. smilies/wink.gif

Yes, I too think that is Sean Astin. Didn't he say it during the recent Lincoln Center Event or something like that? I know during it they started going "Sean for President" or something similar to that (hey it may have been Sam for Prez).

Yes, Samwise got it right again. smilies/biggrin.gif Hey, at least I didn't choose one that was blatantly obvious! But given the circumstances, I suppose it was. I admit with shame that I decided to use the same actor that Eruwen used, mostly because I wanted to, and partially because I wondered if anyone would get it, since having the same person's quotes twice in a row isn't common.
