hello.......anyone home?

Nilpaurion Felagund
12-03-2004, 02:37 AM
About 50 miles?

luthien-elvenprincess
12-03-2004, 06:12 PM
nope.

The answer is in the book, shortly after the gang enters Moria. :)

Gil-Galad
12-03-2004, 06:16 PM
err....68? totally a guess

luthien-elvenprincess
12-03-2004, 06:19 PM
totally a wrong guess :p

Gil-Galad
12-03-2004, 06:21 PM
well is it higher or lower? heh were posting on 2 threads

luthien-elvenprincess
12-03-2004, 06:33 PM
use the clue I gave! Lest we be reduced to mere guessing!!! ;)

Lindolirian
12-03-2004, 07:19 PM
It cannot be less than forty miles, but the road may wind much.

luthien-elvenprincess
12-04-2004, 02:16 PM
yes!

luthien-elvenprincess
01-19-2005, 05:42 PM
Bump... Lindo???

Lindolirian
01-19-2005, 06:36 PM
...and I forgot a thread again. So sorry, Ms Luthien!
And now to business: What road crosses the Odothui?

Elessar
01-20-2005, 06:07 PM
the andrath greenway?

Lindolirian
01-21-2005, 03:19 PM
The Greenway will do. Proceed!

Nilpaurion Felagund
01-31-2005, 01:49 AM
Name all passes from the North into Beleriand.

Sophia the Thunder Mistress
01-31-2005, 04:06 AM
As far as named passes, here is what I have:

Pass of Aglon, Pass of Anach, Pass of Sirion.

Also possibly elligible:

Maglor's gap

Less possibly elligible:

Cirith Ninniach, Annon in Gelydh?

I spend far too little time sleeping.

Nilpaurion Felagund
01-31-2005, 10:37 PM
The thread is yours, Sophia. ;)

Sophia the Thunder Mistress
02-01-2005, 12:51 PM
Thanks. There are some bits that I've never been sure whether they're part of Beleriand proper, or too far north. Like Nevrast. ;)

Anyway, on to the next question.

Name the north and south coastal plains of Aman.

Nilpaurion Felagund
02-02-2005, 06:46 PM
Araman and Avathar, respectively.

I think . . .

Sophia the Thunder Mistress
02-03-2005, 07:35 PM
quite correct.

S.

Nilpaurion Felagund
02-03-2005, 10:34 PM
Which rivers named in Lord of the Rings do not lead to Belegaer (the Sea)?

Gil-Galad
02-04-2005, 05:07 PM
ooh/...... River Running?

Nilpaurion Felagund
02-06-2005, 07:03 PM
. . . but there's another one. :p ;)

Lindolirian
02-07-2005, 07:10 AM
River Carnen or something like that, I can't remember exactly.

luthien-elvenprincess
02-07-2005, 08:10 AM
Also the Forest River.

Nilpaurion Felagund
02-07-2005, 09:13 PM
What's the verdict on this?

Guilty. Put 'em on the chair.

Not that kind of verdict. Who do I give the thread to?

Lindolirian
02-08-2005, 02:33 PM
Technically luthien knew all three answers before Gil or I did because she could have just copied and pasted ours into her post (since they were already there), thus having all three right. So I'd say her.

Nilpaurion Felagund
02-08-2005, 09:55 PM
luthien, it's yours. :)

luthien-elvenprincess
02-09-2005, 09:47 AM
Thanks! Ya know...it's a lot funner answering these questions rather than thinking the up! :)

Wellinghall was located on what mountain range, also which specific mountain peak?

Nilpaurion Felagund
02-10-2005, 06:31 PM
Hithaegilr? Methedras?

luthien-elvenprincess
02-11-2005, 01:49 PM
Yes, those answers are correct :)

Nilpaurion Felagund
02-13-2005, 05:56 PM
If travelling from Minas Tirith to Fornost, how many rivers must you cross--assuming you follow the road.

Lindolirian
02-13-2005, 05:59 PM
Glanhir, Snowbourne, Isen, and Gwathlo.

Lindolirian
02-13-2005, 07:09 PM
What do the Rushdown and Langflood combine into?

Nilpaurion Felagund
02-13-2005, 08:09 PM
I dunno what Rushdown is, but Langflood flows into Anduin.

Lindolirian
02-13-2005, 08:12 PM
Good work.

Nilpaurion Felagund
02-13-2005, 08:22 PM
What is the boundary of Thranduil's kingdom and Celeborn's (in Eryn Lasgalen).

Lindolirian
02-13-2005, 08:26 PM
Thranduil's border was the mountains, while Celeborn's was the Narrows with the forest in between belonging to the Beornings.

Nilpaurion Felagund
02-13-2005, 08:43 PM
Capital.

Lindolirian
02-13-2005, 08:53 PM
What geographical feature divides the Lunoronti?

Sophia the Thunder Mistress
02-17-2005, 03:12 PM
Which would therefore be divided by the Gulf of Lhun?

http://forum.barrowdowns.com/ubb/icons/icon14.gif

Sophia the Thunder Mistress
02-17-2005, 11:10 PM
Now for a new one. And straightforward it is.

Which rivers did Aragorn & co. have to cross between Dunharrow and Pelargir?

Nilpaurion Felagund
02-18-2005, 12:26 AM
Morthond, Ciril, Ringlo and Gilrain/Serni.

I did not include Sirith, as it flows through Pelargir.

Sophia the Thunder Mistress
02-18-2005, 01:51 AM
Yes, indeedy.

Nilpaurion Felagund
02-21-2005, 10:13 PM
Which major region of Andor had the shortest coastline?

Sophia the Thunder Mistress
02-22-2005, 02:58 AM
Mittalmar- which only had just a smidgen around Romenna.

Unless Emerie is considered a major region, in that case, it has none at all.

Researching Sailorhood?! :D ;)

Nilpaurion Felagund
02-24-2005, 01:07 AM
Mittalmar is correct!

And yes, I am. Mindreading again? :D ;)

Sophia the Thunder Mistress
02-24-2005, 01:50 AM
Anyway.

Please provide for me three names of havens in Eriador.

NightKnight
02-24-2005, 02:00 AM
Harlond, Forlond and Lond Daer?

Nilpaurion Felagund
02-24-2005, 02:03 AM
Mithlond, Harlond, Forlond?

Sophia the Thunder Mistress
02-24-2005, 02:16 AM
I knew I didn't ask for enough. :p

I'd forgotten about Forlond, and I was trying to get someone to mention Lond Daer, the Numenorean harbor in Minhiriath.

But since you're right.

You may take it away.

Sophia

NightKnight
02-24-2005, 02:18 AM
Me or Nilp? I got it first...

Sophia the Thunder Mistress
02-24-2005, 02:20 AM
YAY! I didn't see you NightKnight, because of the page change!

But you were first, and you did say Lond Daer! Which makes you my new favorite.

And the person to ask the next question.

NightKnight
02-24-2005, 02:25 AM
Who had his throne on Amon Obel?

Nilpaurion Felagund
02-24-2005, 02:41 AM
Brandir the Lame?

NightKnight
02-28-2005, 08:40 AM
I guess he did, as did the leaders of the Haladin. Your turn, Nil.

Nilpaurion Felagund
02-28-2005, 10:01 PM
Now, what street does the Closed Gate lead to.

NightKnight
03-01-2005, 03:48 AM
Something inside my head says Rath Dinen. Is it right?

Nilpaurion Felagund
03-02-2005, 11:37 PM
Cause whoever he is, he is correct! :D

NightKnight
03-03-2005, 10:09 AM
I don't know, maybe I should try to find out?

Don't go there.

Which are the three dwarven names for the peaks above Moria?

Lindolirian
03-03-2005, 11:10 AM
Barazinbar, Bundushathur, and Zirakzigil.
Wait a minute, am I to understand that NK has an alter ego now too?!? :)

Nilpaurion Felagund
03-03-2005, 08:48 PM
Alter-egos everywhere! To whom do we turn to stop them?!

Lindolirian
03-03-2005, 09:10 PM
So Lindo, did you get that question right or what?
I dunno, I was hoping Nil could help us with that. :p

NightKnight
03-04-2005, 10:52 AM
You got it, Lindo. And I'll try to stop it from appearing too much.

Nilpaurion Felagund
03-09-2005, 02:03 AM
Lindo?

Lindolirian
03-09-2005, 02:02 PM
Now don't get offended, it was your own silly fault you forgot about the thread.
Yeah yeah... :)
What is the distance between Tolondren and Rosfein?

Estanesse
03-25-2005, 05:13 AM
0 mile :p

Lindolirian
03-25-2005, 10:29 AM
Very nice, Estanesse :)

Estanesse
04-04-2005, 01:11 PM

The Elf-warrior
04-04-2005, 07:35 PM
Esgaroth.

Gil-Galad
04-04-2005, 10:36 PM
Lake Town

Estanesse
04-05-2005, 12:18 PM
You got it, elf warrior

(lake town was not detroyed by smaug)

The Elf-warrior
04-05-2005, 07:24 PM
Where were Merry and Pippin buried?

Nilpaurion Felagund
04-06-2005, 05:36 AM
The Silent Street, Rath Dínen. :smokin:

The Elf-warrior
04-09-2005, 04:37 PM
Correct!

Nilpaurion Felagund
04-10-2005, 05:38 AM
Is Tol Brandir in Beleriand?

Gil-Galad
04-10-2005, 12:30 PM
As far as i am concerned it is... :smokin:

NightKnight
04-10-2005, 02:08 PM
Nope. It's in the Anduin.

Nilpaurion Felagund
04-11-2005, 10:12 PM
Your thread.

NightKnight
04-12-2005, 08:46 AM
Oh dear, not again... not this one... I'm out of questions... Ah heck, I guess I'll have to try anyway.

If you would go from Fornost to Tharbad, where would you pass through?

Gil-Galad
04-12-2005, 05:48 PM
Bree if you take a straight route...

Nilpaurion Felagund
04-13-2005, 06:02 AM
I'm guessing the Greenway.

NightKnight
04-13-2005, 12:47 PM
Bree was the answer I had in mind. You're not quite "passing through" the Greenway, you're walking on it. So Gil-Galad, it's your turn. :)

Gil-Galad
04-13-2005, 04:11 PM
Oh joy...

What river is south of Greyflood, North of Lefnun, East of Isen, and west of Entwash?

Lindolirian
04-13-2005, 04:47 PM
If you meant Lefnui (rather than Lefnun ;)), then I'd say Adorn.

Gil-Galad
04-13-2005, 04:51 PM
i'm pretty sure its Lefnun...but no its not the Adorn...

Lindolirian
04-13-2005, 05:05 PM
Well it seems you've found a river I've never heard of. I just assumed it was Lefnui because that's pretty close to the others you mentioned. I think one of us might have a typo. O well.
And I think the only other river between the Isen and entwash is the Snowbourne.

Gil-Galad
04-13-2005, 05:13 PM
Hint: its closer to Isen then any others

Lindolirian
04-13-2005, 05:26 PM
You wouldn't be counting the stream in Helm's Deep as a river would you?

Gil-Galad
04-13-2005, 05:27 PM
not at all, close though...think behind helms deep

Lindolirian
04-13-2005, 05:33 PM
I thought the stream in Aglarond would be the same as the one that flows out of Helm's Deep, but if that's not it, I believe you have me.

Gil-Galad
04-13-2005, 07:35 PM
oh wow thats a first...its actually really easy...

The Elf-warrior
04-13-2005, 08:00 PM
Is it the Deeping-stream?

Firefoot
04-13-2005, 08:06 PM
But the Deeping-stream is the same river Lindo's been talking about.

(But, I don't think there are any other rivers that fit the criteria.)

Gil-Galad
04-14-2005, 07:34 AM
as i said: behind Helms Deep

Firefoot
05-02-2005, 04:28 PM
Another hint, maybe?

Gil-Galad
05-02-2005, 04:35 PM
its a river in West Rohan

Firefoot
05-02-2005, 07:10 PM
The only other river in Rohan I can find is the Adorn - but it's not really behind Helm's Deep or east of the Isen... it's more south of it.

piosenniel
05-04-2005, 11:53 AM
Are you speaking of The Deeping Stream?

Iaurhirwen
05-05-2005, 01:07 PM
Is it the Swanfleet?

Gil-Galad
05-05-2005, 08:22 PM
it is the swanfleet! good job!

Firefoot
05-05-2005, 08:34 PM
Gil-Galad, I'm a little confused. What did you mean when you gave a hint that it was behind Helm's Deep? And it flows into the Greyflood; how is it closer to the Isen than the others? :(

piosenniel
05-06-2005, 01:59 AM
Sorry - but you are wrong in thinking the Swanfleet is a river in West Rohan, or in Rohan, at all. Neither is it east of the Isen - it's west of the Isen's source and north of the Isen itself as it flows to the sea.

Swanfleet is the name given to the River Glanduin where it flows through the fens just northeast of Tharbad. The Sirannon (Gate Stream) that flowed from Khazad-dum was a tributary of the Glanduin.

Eregion bordered these two rivers on the north, and Dunland bordered them on the south.

They do not flow in Rohan.

The Deeping Stream, on the other hand, ran around the base of Helm's Deep on the south and east sides:

The stream that rose in the gorge of the White Mountains known as Helm's Deep. It flowed through a culvert in the wall that guarded that refuge of the Rohirrim, and then around the feet of the rock where the Hornburg stood, before beginning its journey into the wide lands of Rohan.

-- Encyclopedia of Arda

You can also investigate the Rohan rivers by looking at The Atlas of Middle-earth; pg: 88 - 89. And the Deeping Stream in the same Atlas, pg. 132 - 133.

HERE (http://perso.wanadoo.fr/hugo1900/img14.jpg) is a map you can use to look at the locations of the various rivers. You can click on it to enlarge it.

~*~ Pio

Iaurhirwen
05-06-2005, 06:36 AM
I think I may have found the misconception. The map that pio has just given us the link to and the map I consulted myself have different names for the same river. My map, one of those bookmarks that fold out into a map that were released by New Line, gives the name of swanfleet for the river. While the map that pio has just linked for us has given the name of Adorn for the same river. The map in ROTK also has the name of Adorn for the river.

Either the map that I, and apparantly Gil-Galad consulted are incorrect, or this is another reason which I am to tired to think of now.

I believe that the person who initially answered Adorn should go next, owing to the fact that we were talking about the same river.

Gil-Galad
05-06-2005, 08:35 AM
hmm....strange...after i looked at the map in my ROTk, it is indeed the Adorn, but my big wall map of middle earth says it was the Swanfleet(i was using that map), so anyways it is the Adorn! whoever said Adorn can go next!

*Again somebody has given me a bad rep for no reason at all!!! i'm getting sick and tired of this...*

Firefoot
05-06-2005, 02:14 PM
I guess that's me.

List four locations where a red sun was seen in LotR.

Firefoot
05-24-2005, 04:35 PM
Anyone? How about three locations?

Gil-Galad
05-24-2005, 04:37 PM
Rohan...Minas Tirith...and...umm...Fangorn?

Firefoot
05-25-2005, 02:19 PM
Rohan - good.
Minas Tirith and Fangorn - if you can give me a quote I'll give it to you, but neither of those were places I had in mind.

Firefoot
06-11-2005, 08:44 PM
I recently found the Minas Tirith reference, coincidentally, so only one more location would be needed...

Nilpaurion Felagund
06-15-2005, 01:15 AM
Rohan, Minas Tirith, and the Crossroads.

Firefoot
06-17-2005, 09:53 PM
That'll do!

Other places I had were Mordor and the Barrow-downs.

Nilpaurion Felagund
06-18-2005, 05:27 AM
Where is Sauron's Isle by the end of the Third Age?

Firefoot

Where was the Land of Bow and Helm?

Nilpaurion Felagund
06-19-2005, 07:22 AM
It's south of the Forest of Brethil, west of Doriath, east of Narog, and north of Nargothrond.

Gil-Galad
08-03-2005, 08:44 AM
Ered Luin does it not?

Gil-galad?

Joy
08-12-2005, 09:59 PM
To bring this back up, what is Soronumë?

Alcarillo
08-13-2005, 12:08 AM
A constellation.

Joy
08-13-2005, 12:40 AM
Could you be more specific. What is it's translation and what constellation is it called today?

Alcarillo
08-13-2005, 01:38 PM
It means "eagle of the west", and, although Tolkien never positively identified it, it has been suggested that Soronumë is the constellation Aquila.

Joy
08-13-2005, 01:40 PM
Muy bueno!!! Your go :D

Alcarillo
08-14-2005, 01:08 PM

Nilpaurion Felagund
08-14-2005, 06:07 PM
Nísinen.

Joy
08-14-2005, 06:30 PM
Nunduinë

Nilpaurion Felagund
08-14-2005, 07:24 PM
Nísinen was a bloody lake!

*bangs head on random flat surface*

Lindolirian
08-14-2005, 08:40 PM
Thanks for the welcome, Nil.
Close, but Joy has it.

Joy
08-14-2005, 08:53 PM
Where was Nienor ensnared by Glaurung and what river is it near?

Lindolirian
08-14-2005, 08:55 PM
Amon Ethir the Hill of Spies near, once again, the Narog. :)

Joy
08-14-2005, 09:16 PM
Very good!!

Lindolirian
08-15-2005, 12:40 PM
If I leave The Floating Log and travel in a straight line to Brandy Hall, what rivers would I have to cross?

Iaurhirwen
08-15-2005, 05:33 PM
The River Brandywine (of course)
and possibly The Stockbrook, depending on how straight you can walk :p

Lindolirian
08-15-2005, 09:54 PM
Spot on, good Iaurhirwen!

Iaurhirwen
08-18-2005, 03:43 PM
What are the two other names for each of these mountains:

Redhorn
Silvertine
Cloudyhead

Alcarillo
08-18-2005, 03:48 PM
Caradhras and Barazinbar
Celebdil and Zirakzigil
Fanuidhol and Bundushathûr

Iaurhirwen
08-19-2005, 12:12 PM
From what I can remember, you are correct. However, I'm in the process of packing for college and regretfully my copy is LOTR is now occupying space at the bottom of my trunk and I am unable to confirm without a doubt your answer.

I strongly believe that you are correct. So I say go ahead and post the next question. I really can't wait until Monday and I can get everything set up again.

Alcarillo
08-19-2005, 01:59 PM
Name an island named after a person.

NightKnight
08-19-2005, 03:57 PM

08-20-2005, 04:17 PM
Which mountain range was between the Red Mountains and the Yellow Mountains?

Alcarillo
08-20-2005, 04:26 PM
The Mountains of the World, I think is the answer.

NightKnight
08-21-2005, 03:43 AM
Nope.

Alcarillo
08-21-2005, 02:20 PM
Mountains of the Wind! Karen Wynn Fonstad has deceived me!

NightKnight

Aye, Nilp, you got it.

Nilpaurion Felagund
08-22-2005, 07:59 PM

Alcarillo
08-22-2005, 08:09 PM
Nen Lalaith.

Nilpaurion Felagund
08-22-2005, 08:21 PM
Back to you. :)

Alcarillo
08-22-2005, 08:25 PM
Which two rivers' confluence created an inland delta?

Iaurhirwen
08-22-2005, 08:51 PM
The River Limlight/Snowbourn depending on who you are talking to and the River Entwash

Iaurhirwen
08-22-2005, 09:05 PM
Wow, what a mental block that was. Sorry it's the Entwash and the Anduin. That's what I get after being awake for 20 hours and just walking over 10 miles in a stupid scavenger hunt. I swear they just live to torment us freshmen.

Alcarillo
08-22-2005, 09:07 PM
Yep, that's it. Iaurhirwen got it.

Rhosgobel, in Rhovanion.

Iaurhirwen
08-24-2005, 08:16 AM
yes. That was very easy, wasn't it? I must find better questions to ask. Hmmmm decisions, decisions.

Nilpaurion Felagund
08-24-2005, 08:32 AM
No hard questions, please! I wouldn't want my head to explode!

Hmmm . . . where does Cirith Ninniach lead into (from Hithlum, that is.)

Alcarillo
08-24-2005, 02:27 PM
From Hithlum it leads into Lammoth. Well, it's right in front of the Firth of Drengist. If you head right you go into Lammoth, left into Nevrast.

Nilpaurion Felagund

OH! Right!!! I'm supposed to have posted a question. I'm so sorry everybody! The first week of college really got me wrapped up and I totally forgot about this thread. But, no worries, I'm back.

Now, to think of a question . . . If you were sailing north from the Bay of Balar to the Firth of Drengist, what rivers would you encounter entering into the sea?

The Perky Ent
09-08-2005, 03:31 PM
Um...i'm probably wrong about this...

If you're going along the coast, its Sirion, Nenning, Britchcn, then the Firth. Unless you count the rivers you pass from the latitude...or if i jsut got it wrong

Iaurhirwen
09-09-2005, 11:25 AM
Yes, you're right Perky! Come on Down, You're the next contestant on The Price is . . . .ahem, I mean Geography Grilling

Rune Son of Bjarne

Greyflood River ? ? ?

But i am not sure, becourse later Greyflood becomes divided into loudwater and Hoarwel so ?

The Perky Ent
09-15-2005, 07:49 PM
Well...I somehow lost (which I can't believe, because I treasure it over all of my resources) my Maps of Middle Earth book. However, a cursory glance would show that the Greyflood (not counting tributaries) and Brandywine seem pretty equal. However, since you're new, and I myself was thinking of the Greyflood, you get it Rune Son! Welcome to the Downs!

Nilpaurion Felagund
09-15-2005, 07:55 PM
And let me join Perks in welcoming you, Rune Son of Bjarne! :D

Well she jumpet from Kabed-en-Aras (Kabed Naeramarth) down in the river Teiglin, so i guess she died in the Teiglin

The Perky Ent
09-22-2005, 03:40 PM
Kabed-en-Aras indeed. Cabed Naeramarth after her death :D

Telchar
09-23-2005, 03:35 PM
I allow myself to make an "odd-out-question" - I promise that it is totally geografical, and has nothing to do with caracters, history or events.

Imladris
Ost-in-Edhil
West gate of Moria
Dol Guldur
Tharbad

@ #938: Brandywine is much longer than Greyflood. But the combined course of Greyflood and Hoarwell is the longest body of water in Eriador.

The Perky Ent
09-23-2005, 04:23 PM
Tharbad, the only place not in Eriador?

Telchar
09-23-2005, 04:55 PM
Are you serious?

The Perky Ent
09-23-2005, 05:22 PM
...no. I mean to say Tharbad, the only place where a ring of power was not present

Telchar
09-24-2005, 12:05 AM
NOPE... remember its strictly geografical. You can find the answer on a map ;)

Rune Son of Bjarne
09-24-2005, 11:17 AM
Dol Guldur is the only place east of the Misty Mountains

Telchar
09-24-2005, 02:06 PM
Not a bad guess Rune - but not what I had in mind.

Seriously - if you "LOOK" at a map you will find the answer :p

The Perky Ent
09-24-2005, 02:12 PM
ooo I get it now! When I said Tharbad was the only place that wasn't in Eriador, I meant to say Dol Guldor!

Let me look at my map...and....

Dol Guldor - the only place not on a river?

Telchar
09-28-2005, 03:00 AM
not on a river? true, but not what I had i mind... :(

As a further hint: Take a map -> put a piece of transparent paper on top -> Make a dot at each of the five locations - > put the map away - look at the dots ;)

Rune Son of Bjarne
09-29-2005, 04:36 PM
Imladris

Is not on the same latitude as the others

Telchar
09-30-2005, 02:05 AM
That is correct Rune :) You can more or less draw a straight east/west line through the other 4, but Imladris sticks out - you're up.

Rune Son of Bjarne
09-30-2005, 07:42 AM
Name the highest mountain in the world and the mountain chain it is part of.

The Perky Ent
09-30-2005, 03:00 PM
The world, when? If you're counting Aman, I'd guess it's Taniquetil, among the mountain range known as the Pelori

Rune Son of Bjarne
09-30-2005, 03:29 PM
Aman was included.

Yes it is in the Pelori, and gues what it is Taniquetil (Oiolossë)

Telchar

Ered Luin
Ered Mithrim
Iron Hills
Hithaglir
Ered Nimrais

how small mountians are we counting in???

The Barrow Downs? :p

I started - others may finish ;)

The Perky Ent
10-01-2005, 01:02 PM
That was the general list. There's two that I can think of that you've left out. Well...one you've already named. Hmm...how do I put it. The two i'm thinking of are not in the lands you normally see on maps. Look twords the south, and twords the east, and you'll get the two mountain ranges you'll need before I can say you're correct. Good list though. Two more, and the thread is yours!

Telchar
10-05-2005, 02:29 PM
Hmmmm.... I should try using a map another time
Third age, right?

Ered Luin
Ered Mithrim
Iron Hills
Hithaglir
Ered Nimrais
Ered Lithui
Ephel Duath
Mountains of Mirkwood

East: Orocarni The mountains of the East
Further East: Walls of the Sun
South: Grey Mountains
West: Pelori
Last: You could argue for Morgai too
:D

In Mirkwood, better known as Dol Guldur.

Rune Son of Bjarne
11-23-2005, 05:42 PM
your right.

I do belive if I may get technical: It was in the southern part of Greenwood. When Sauron moved in and build it bacame Dol Guldur and the forest became Mirkwood.

;) = it was a joke

Firefoot
11-23-2005, 06:32 PM
Well, la-di-da. ;)

If I stood in Edoras facing the same direction in which the windows face in Bree and walked backwards about 250 miles before heading to the nearest city on a river. I continue upstream until I reach a bridge, where I turn left until I am in line (north-south wise) with the Dark Wood. From here I take a 150 mile trip to the northeast. Where do I finally arrive?
