Ooohh, how do I creep you out Elennar Starfire, did I pin you down? Or was my description of you too fantastical?
Ye got way too close. Are ye sure ye aren't a stalker?

Ah Vuelve... I've wanted to post about you before, but I'm terrified that I'll make a dreadful and offensive mistake... you see, I haven't learned yet what gender you are! And I really have no idea what age, therefore when I get home from work (speaking of that, I should really be getting ready to LEAVE right now...) I plan on doing some Vuelve-stalking to learn some much needed information.

Nimrothiel: Glad you liked the link, but it's really more of a signature than anything else (just was a few characters short of having it in my sig). So in the future, it's probably a better idea to pm your thoughts to me :).
You are your avatar in my eyes.(all 3 of them )
Please, o please, pretend you know enough about me to post about my ravashing good looks on here.
Well lets see. Following your rule I'd say I imagine you as a cat; only with three eyes. :p
p.s. you imagine me as my avatar?

I'm touched Fea. I mean you really wanted to post about me*sniffle* ;) And by all means stalk me. That would be super! lol O and don't worry about offending me, not knowing the gender is part of the fun on this thread.
Well lets see. Following your rule I'd say I imagine you as a cat; only with three eyes
Hmmm.. well not exactly. The third eye is removable.lol
p.s. you imagine me as my avatar? LOL I've been meaning to tell you that I love your Avatar. I was on here one day and was like, " look it's Dr. Wario!!"
As for Vuelve, hhmmm. You have blonde hair and green eyes with pouty lips, your about average height and you like cats.
Well I used to have blonde hair but I dyed it to color which I'm not going to reveal for guessing purposes. My eyes tend to be green they change with what I wear though.Green/Grey/Blue/Hazel, its all very interesting. That last bit is really funny though.I really don't much care for cats.Puss in Boots is only there for the Antonio Bandaras/Zorro cat/ Shrek factor.
This is so much fun!!

All right, Vuelve, ignoring the hints you gave in your post, I'll tell you how I picture you. Forgive me if I mistake age, gender, and appearance all in one fell swoop. Like with Mad Baggins, I used to think you were a 30ish year old man. I've now refined my image to a 17 year old girl. You are taller than me (not hard to do), coming up around 5'7". You've got flowing, and perfectly straight blonde hair, down nearly to your waist. When you don't have it bound up tightly in a messy bun, its blowing around randomly in the wind. Your grey-blue eyes sometimes flash with a burst of passion, but are more found exhibiting kindness and calm. When you want something, people are incapable of resisting your charm (think Puss in Boots). Your hands are notable, having long and delicate fingers, with the nails rarely painted. To show them off, you wear few rings, prefering bracelets or henna tattoos.

LOLLOLOLOLOLOLOL Fea. Thats so funny!!! How did I come off as a 30 year old man, I always thought that my posts were stupid and dorky.(I must have been one dorky old dude.)Your pretty close on my height ( I really don't know exactly how tall I am.But its somewhere around there.)The rest of that is just Crap LOL(no offense.)Perfect hair LOL thats a riot.Maybe you can get some hints from my new sig (it's from one of my favorite songs.

Not entirely sure about the 30 year old man thing... It never fails to amaze me that people thought I was a guy, or at least a lot older than I am.
As for the perfect hair, my imagination, not yours. Nah nah nah nah boo boo. :p
Your image has just been updated: you now wear a black cowboy hat everywhere you go... over top of your long, blonde, perfect hair. Mwahahahaha. The funniest part of all this is that I was listening to the song in your siggy a few minutes ago, and caught the music video earlier when my brother was watching CMT.
How 'bout me? Ignore my avvy; it doesn't even show all of my face. What do I look like to you?

It never fails to amaze me that people thought I was a guy
I think that is because of your name. It's not easy when girls has male names.
Feanor of the Peredhil
07-20-2004, 07:03 AM
Mwahahahaha. Actually, I picked the name Feanor before I read the Silmarillion. I had no clue who it was, and just liked the term "fiery spirit" because it so well describes my fiestiness. ;) So I didn't intentionally pick a guy's name, it just kinda happened. Mind you, even if I'd known, I wouldn't pick an obviously female name, because I'm not particularly girly (most of the time).

Actually the wen in my name is not meant to indicate my gender but is meant to be Mith + alwen which according to the translator I used a litererary or archaic sindarin word for tree..... so Mithalwen was intended to mean Grey-tree - which could be unisex not grey-"something" -maiden....which couldn't :D

All right, Eomer, my quest for the day is to pin down a somewhat accurate image of you. And since you've pretty much given yourself away over the past few pages, all I have to do is make a list of what you are NOT, and from it, logically conclude what you must be. Wow... this is going to be... longer than I expected. But I'll do it or die trying. Or die because I'm hungry... one or the other. But in order not to die, I'm gonna go eat breakfast and THEN pin your image. But I still say lunatic. :D

07-22-2004, 08:09 AM
This is what I gleaned, Feanor:
He's admitted to having brown hair, blue eyes, being 6', wearing worn jeans and band t-shirts, and sometimes being found in pubs. And 20 is a given.
Feanor of the Peredhil
07-22-2004, 08:28 AM
Good grief, symestreem, I should have ignored the work and left it all to you. Finally, though, we can have an altogether accurate (unless he's been lying all along) description of our good buddy Eomer.
Eomer of the Rohirrim: You are 20 years old, as found in your profile. You are tall (6'0") and well-built. All your time training badgers has assuredly payed off, in the fact that your muscles fill out your perfectly broken in jeans and t-shirts particularly well. You are a fierce debator, and delight in being somewhat of a mystery. You try to keep your thoughts secret, but if someone's memory and observatoin skills are good enough, they can find out nearly anything. Your blue eyes show a great sense of humor, gleaming when you've got a joke or a sarcastic comment in store. You are a frequent guest at the local asylum, as well as the local tavern. Drinking age is different than in the U.S., eh?
Fea
Eomer of the Rohirrim
07-22-2004, 10:43 AM
Ok, ok, you've all done very well and I think its time to give up the game. symestreem's work was very clever and Fea's hefty description is damn close! :D
One point of contention. Muscles? Bah! I look like a typical skinny indie bloke who smokes way too much cigarettes (although I've never even touched one). Alas! I am always going to be more slender Elf than King of Rohan.
Drinking age is 18 here in the UK. Though too many young idiots take advantage of that and cause drunken mayhem. There's always pros and cons isn't there?!
Feanor of the Peredhil
07-22-2004, 11:38 AM
Well, since I've got the rest accurate, I can be forgiven for the muscle mistake. But training badgers IS hard work. ;) The description of you actually matches a friend of mine very well, only your hair is no doubt lighter, and I'm quite sure you don't have the piercings he's got. Other than that, eyes, build, sense of humor, match up quite nicely.
Though too many young idiots take advantage of that and cause drunken mayhem. There's always pros and cons isn't there?!
We've got plenty of young idiots who cause their own mischief, and they don't bother taking advantage of drinking laws. They just ignore them. I see nothing wrong with the occasional drink (although I won't do it), but when it leads to binges and partying... .

Fea, my hair is only light when the Sun is shining on it. In those situations it looks rather fetching! :D Its quite longish, I despise short hair.
Estel, you have a bushy brown moustache (despite your tender age), wellington boots, have one ear missing due to a fight with an iguana, shiny white teeth and piercing eyes. You also have the ability to hypnotise people. Sometimes you do this solely to steal their wallets.
Getting closer?
Feanor of the Peredhil
07-22-2004, 07:40 PM
you're actually quite good-looking :D Thank you, Elrond's (other) Daughter... I'm touched, and no fears, I don't think you're weird or anything. I actually spend half of my spare time trying to convince my friends how gorgeous they are. "No, you are NOT fat." "Your nose is NOT too big." "Shut up you, I'm dead jealous of your curves." One of the many reasons I spend most of my time in the company of guys. They worry about important things... like who's gonna get the last slice of pizza! ;) Or if they DO worry about how they look, they keep quiet about it.
Durelin: You are somewhat short, maybe 5'3"? With black hair that falls just below your shoulders. It is straight, but occasionally sticks out in weird places. Your eyes are bright green, and... what the? I just got a female Harry Potter image in my head. Wow... I guess I need to lay off the long bike rides and get some real sleep. Anyhow, you love art and music, and detest doing homework, unless you actually think it will help you with your learning. You are into snowboarding, perhaps. At least, that's how my over-extended imagination makes you out to be.

So, Nirvana, you are exceptionally tall 22-year-old, somewhat of a grunge rocker, you've got at least partially black hair, although it is not long. Maybe short and spiky? Or of medium length. You have a large amount of piercings and tattoos, and don't like to fit into the typical mold.

YES!!! Another Tam Pierce fan! I just finished (like... 20 minutes ago) Squire... again! Lady Knight comes next and then Trickster's Choice. And then I get to rereading Sandry's Book. My unfortunate (to others) habit of reading Pierce's work first to last, starting with Alanna, continuing through Daine and Kel, checking in on Aly, and then switching universes to the four. I actually go on Pierce binges. You really can't read just one! Sorry... back to the subject at hand before I get harassed for being off-topic:
Thank you, Lhunardawen and Elrond's (other) Daughter. I'm having a little trouble seeing myself as pretty (my "look" right now is the unintentional grunge look, as I've been cleaning all day, and I've got a pencil being used as a giant hair pin to keep at least some of my hair out of my face as I type!), but I'll take your words for it. See, I rarely think about my appearance, so it's always a shock when it gets noted.
Lush: now I know at least parts of this are inaccurate, since I've seen your picture on Alk's page, but this thread is supposed to be imagined images of each other... sooo... Lush is about 5'8", with long and flowing locks of auburn hair. You've got brilliantly green eyes, that are much practiced in the art of flirting. You have the ability to make the most worn out jeans and a t-shirt look like hot. ;) Either that, or occasionally you leave human form and get stuck looking like a long-stemmed rose. Odd, ain't it?

D'ye want to have a PM discussion of Tam Pierce books?
Aye, that would be wonderful indeed, especially since I noticed a Tolkien parallel (not necessarily reference, but it was funny to see) last night: Stenman Kinslayer, anyone?
A hobbit lass? Me?? And here I was hoping for Elven beauty or somesuch romantical nonsense. :D I'm a little lacking in the Elven height department though... I could be a really young Elf... Ooh, wait: Peredhil! Mwahaha. Er... sorry 'bout that.
I really like the Eowyn image, although I'm not positive where it came from. I'm niether blonde, nor fair and cold, although I will beat the tar out of anyone who messes with me or the ones I love. ;) Or at least threaten the tar out of them... amazing what people will believe if you throw enough rash [and fake] confidence into your speech. "You will stop this on your own, or I will make you stop. Pick one, but it will end." always works. As does "If you attempt to carry out your threats, I will break your jaw." Shamelessly stolen from Squire by Tamora Pierce.
Finwe: You are about 5'6", with long black hair with deep red lowlights. Your eyes are so dark brown that they are nearly black, and seem to hold an eternity's worth of wisdom beneath the surface. Actually, for anybody with the same musical taste as me, I picture Finwe as looking like Christina Scabbia from Lacuna Coil.

I spent a long time reading this WHOLE thread. I really had to laugh about Eomer in a Tartan Kilt but I don't remeber who mentioned that.
I actually imagined most people a bit geekish or bookish. I never really thought about what you guys would look like.

Well Lathriel, I know you're female for the fact of the little crush on Faramir (or at least I hope you're female). I'm not good at this thread but I think i'll give it a shot again. I see....brown hair....maybe hazel eyes and about 5'6''. I know i'm way off but humor me.

I am indeed female and my hair is brown so you were spot on about that.
and 6'5" is close but not completly accurate so I guess my appearnce is easy to guess.
I'm not like Estel or Eomer, there were so many people guessing what they looked like it was funny reading all those posts. :D

One of the many reasons I spend most of my time in the company of guys. They worry about important things... like who's gonna get the last slice of pizza! Or if they DO worry about how they look, they keep quiet about it.Actually, the reason we don't worry about how we look is because we don't usually have any appearance problems that require more than a few minutes to fix. At least, I usually don't.
A hobbit lass? Me?? And here I was hoping for Elven beauty or somesuch romantical nonsense. Actually, from your avatar you do look somewhat like Arwen.
Anyway, sorry for being absent for such a long time. Two camp weeks back to back, can you say "tired"? And this guy in my cabin always having way too much caffeine and keeping everyone awake didn't help either...*yawn* But anyway, I managed to pull off a creepily accurate Gollum impression for some "spirit points" for my cabin during a volleyball contest.
OK, back on topic. I'm not quite sure why people have always imagined me with black hair, but my hair has always been blond. And if I liked to play with dangerous chemicals as somebody mentioned earlier, my house would probably be reduced to a huge smoking crater by now.
I'm thinking of doing the same thing as Feanor and putting my picture up as an avatar. If anybody thinks that would be spoiling something, now's the time to speak up.

You may just be dying your hair blond to fool all the BD's. :D Just kidding. So anyway I am assuming you're female for the fact that I know if I did my Gollum impression in front of my guy friends they'd all laugh at me and think I was weird. Maybe about 5'5''. And maybe you're blond????? ;) Oh well I'm probably wrong. I always am in this thread.

Elennar, you rock because you casually planted psychological seeds into the minds of the other Downers that I am one of the beautiful people. Whether you are right or wrong, I am not obliged to answer. ;)

Those seeds were a waste of planting time. Eomer, we all already knew you're the Lush of your gender! ;)
don't usually have any appearance problems that require more than a few minutes to fix
Niether do we. Girls just exaggerate. :p Actually, I don't know that for certain. I DO know that I fully stand by if-it's-not-doable-in-ten-minutes-its-not-getting-done... unless for some fancy occasion or some such nonsense. Even then... the prom for example: my makeup took me some five minutes to do. It took me about five to get dressed, and that's because I tripped over my own feet. My hair took freaking forever (some 45 minutes), but if I'D been doing it? Not so long. See? It's called the I've-got-better-things-to-do-with-my-time beauty regimen.
you do look somewhat like Arwen
Hehe. The first time I badgered my parents into watching The Fellowship, my mama said to me "Did you know you're a dead ringer for that Elf lady there?" I fully argued: my eyes are hazel, my hair isn't nearly as long (even before I hacked it, it fell in loose curls just past my shoulders), I'm not tall enough, I haven't a whit of grace, and then I ran out of excuses. I do actually look somewhat like Arwen. Just a shorter, [much] younger, and of course prettier counterpart. ;) At least I've got the fair (see "pasty white" [except when sunburned]) skin.

One thing's for certain, your last comment was correct. ;)
The reason I did my Gollum impression in front of the entire camp was mostly because my cabin mates all know that I've always been good at doing weird impressions, as well as being "designated victim" for every weird game that people can come up with at these things.

A few thousand years ago, yes, that was me. The valiant Prince of Tirion, a spitting image of Finrod the Faithful. But a few body swaps later, the only thing on the mark is the long hair.
At least, it's long for me. I haven't had it cut since...ummm...four-ish months ago.
Now,
Rimbaud is not really a frog but a salamander undergoing an identity crisis. He's hairless, green in colour, and perpetually covered in slime.

Nope, the nose is all real! You can pull on it if you like, to prove it. But don't pull too hard!

Energy? Hoo yeah!

I suppose I am slender, but only in the warmer months when I go out rollerblading three miles everyday. And, yes, I do have many freckles, all on my nose and cheeks. My eyes actually change color with what I'm wearing or, again, if I'm emotional. When my hair was long, it was straight, but now I style it so it has a little more volume. Easy. This is a bit dull, but I see a lot of you as looking like your name. This mostly applies to the ones with Lotr names, like Eomer of the Rohirrim, who therefore looks like Eomer dressed in a white t-shirt and ripped jeans, and The Only Real Estel, who dresses like a Ranger and likes hiking across moors in the mist.
Let's see.... Child of the 7th Age has short, blond curls and a cheerful smile and big blue/green eyes. Rather serious looking in a good-natured, responsible way.
Mister Underhill wears a hat (I don't know the name, but they wore them with suits in the 1930's). He doesn't wear the suit though.
Mad Baggins looks like his name: a Baggins. Short grey curls, glasses perched on the end of his nose, a slightly crazed look. And a waistcoat. Has the look of a cheerful and eccentric inventor.
Evisse the Blue: shoulder-length, dark brown curls. Wears blue gowns.
Witch-king: very tall.
Feanor of the Peredhil: the only word that comes to mind is pointy... pointy ears, I think. Sharp-witted, tall, slim, short dark and spiky hair. Very clever, wide grin and good sense of humour.
Sapphire_Flame: of medium height with flame-red, longish hair. Bright eyes, clear skin, rather a mystical look, like a spirit or an ancient goddess of war.
That's enough from me for now, I don't feel I know any of you well enough to describe you in detail. Otherwise my brain is so mooshy I just can't think of anyone clearly.
Sooo... there's my bit done. Who's gonna undertake the duty of describing my fair self? I want a minimum of five detailed descriptions, and all including the phrase "breathtakingly beautiful"...

Well, I'd wear baggy black pants all the time if I had any... sadly I don't. Just a pair of fitted ones that are more dressy than not (and are a dog-hair magnet). :( As for yellow? *Full body shudder*. I abhorr the color yellow. Well, not really, since I'm an artist and I love using yellow in work. More accurately, I abhorr yellow clothing. But I do wear tank tops as much as I can.
the only word that comes to mind is pointy... pointy ears, I think. Sharp-witted, tall, slim, short dark and spiky hair. Very clever, wide grin and good sense of humour
Ooh, I'm pointy. I like being pointy; I always wanted pointy ears... As for sharp-witted, I don't really think so, but everybody else does, so now I just kind of accept the fact that I'm smart instead of saying "Am not." I don't believe it, but I accept it. I do too many stupid things to be brilliant like people insist on telling me. I rather wish they'd stop... For tall? That's where you hit off the mark. I'm only about 5'3"... Not particularly tall. But I like my height. Slim... yep. I'm pretty slender. For the hair, I was going to cut it really short and spiky... but I chickened out. I still hacked it myself, but not too short. Just short enough that it won't stay in a pony tail without half a dozen bobby pins. For the clever... I guess I am. Big smiles and a notorious sense of humor. Slightly warped when it comes to pranks and stuff, but I can always take jokes about myself. If I can't laugh at myself, who can I laugh at?
As for Meela's description... I can't really imagine her... all I know is that she's breathtakingly beautiful. And has one heck of a sense of humor.

Sadly, I own very few plain coloured t-shirts. I'd like a few though. Jeans shorts? I don't wear them much... I can never find shorts that fit right AND fit my school's dress code, and I have no intent of paying for separate wardrobes for school versus everything else.
I detest turtlenecks, for the most part, altough I had a tight black ribbed one that I loved. And then my brothers came home from college and shrunk it doing laundry. :( I'm not much for sweaters, although I've got a tan one that I like.
Jeans? When it's cold? I wear jeans when its hot, when its cold, when its raining or sunny. I have the most perfect pair of jeans. Actually, two perfect pairs. But I've now got a new favorite pair of pants, thanks to my cousin's girlfriend. And they aren't jeans, surprisingly enough.
I do tend to wear my hair just combed with no other attention paid to it, but humidity is killing me by way of making my hair curl and defy the laws of physics, so lately it's been subjected to ponytails (with pins to keep it there) and inverted french braids (my hair is too short to stay in regular ones). So, all in all, a decent attempt, but not that accurate about my style. I really do have a simple style philosophy... but I'm not going to share it unless someone hits it spot-on. :D

I'm the exact opposite! I wanted to get my hair cut short and spiky. My mom wanted to take me to a hairdresser because it was a really big cut (six or seven inches). I had a picture from a magazine and everything, but when I got there, my hairdresser used every excuse in the book to get me not to (and my Mom didn't help one bit.) "Your hair is too thick." (Actually, my hair is thick but not too thick). "Your face isn't the right shape." (It's oval. The perfect shape. ;) ) I ended up just getting a cut in under my earlobes. (For the record, my Dad agreed with me. Guys can get short and spiky cuts no matter what their face shape or hair type. I've vowed that next time I'm going to ignore them.)
Wow, that turned out to be a longer story than I anticipated!
I imagine Meela as very pale, which isn't helped by the fact that she refuses to wear any color except black. She is very taken to black gowns, but when they happen to be in the wash, she wears a pair of tightish capris and a tunic-like top. (Black, of course.) She sometimes has clear grey eyes and sometimes electric blue eyes (I can't really decide) which turn blood red whenever she sees fire, from a little candle to a burning building. She is a good head taller than everyone on the street and enjoys looking down her "breathtakingly beautiful" snub nose menacingly at complete strangers and innocent civilians. (And I am dead serious on this, Meela. Dead serious. *puts on serious no-nonsense face*)

Wow, that's very accurate! I'm very pale, and I do love black (wearing it right now, in fact), and yes mostly in gown form. I have grey/blue eyes - if it's cloudy they're grey, if it's sunny they're blue. Um... red eyes? Nice touch, pity it doesn't actually happen. Although when I'm not wearing all black I do like to splash out on red instead.
I'm not that tall, only around 5'7/5'8. But I do stare. At everyone! I love freaking little kids out by glaring at them, and I challenge would-be mockers of my black gowns with the Gaze of Mordor (a very powerful weapon if you know how to use it). Yes, I'm beautiful... *sigh*

Gaze of Mordor (a very powerful weapon if you know how to use it)
That is indeed one very powerful weapon. Unless, like me, you've been exposed to it for a long time and have developed an immunity. I've got my own decent version of the Gaze of Mordor. I tend to simply call it the Death Glare. When you're REALLY mad and give off the Gaze... no words are required. People just shut up. Unless they're siblings, but that's life.
We already know she wears jeans all the time. She also wears long black ranger-like jackets that cover any color shirt she might be wearing (even if it is a yellow tank top.)
I'm not wearing jeans right now. :p As a matter of fact, I am currently wearing the exact same pants and shirt I had on yesterday. I do rather like cool jackets though. I've got this great black leather duster, but I can't wear it to school and it's generally too heavy for daily use. But my favorite jacket... black leather. Fitted, but not tight. Makes me look good. :D
I must say though, you still haven't hit my style.
Fea
Edit: What is it with girls and clothes.... See the part where I wrote that I've been wearing the same outfit for several days? Not all of us care that much about style, but as I've given away my general appearance with my avatar, I'm left making them guess what I wear.

To answer your question, Eomer, it may sound weird but sometimes the clothes make the woman. Sometimes you can tell alot about a girls personality by what she is wearing and when she is wearing it. For girls it's almost always about how the outfit makes her feel about herself. I know it sounds like a bunch of hogwash but it can be sometimes true.
Eomer of the Rohirrim

Meh. If I owned any nice clothes at all then maybe I could afford to care about how I looked. As it stands, indie-chic is perfectly acceptable and comfortable! :D

You sound pretty stylish to me Eomer! It's more like a personal flaw that most girls have when we care about the way we look. I wish we didn't have to feel that way. . Me I'm particularly fond of guys who dress kinda indie-chic ( now don't start thinking!). They remind me of Dominic Monaghan. But hey who knew!? And that's the way it was. And that's the way the cookie crumbles.
I'm particular about what I wear only because I hate being uncomfortable. Sorry if I've turned this into a fashion thread BDer's. It'll get back on track soon enough. :D

I wouldn't be the best one to tell you, for I do not know myself. I'm not one to care whether I look "hot" or not. (The pants I'm currently wearing I found in a pile on my closet floor. I had been wondering where they were for at least a month and a half. ) Like Fea said, it's the only thing to guess about her since she put up her picture.

I have a completly opposite piont of view, Eomer. I dress like a guy, and indeed have been mistaken for one many times. My pants are all ripped, frayed, and two sizes larger than what would fit me, my t-shirts all faded and in the same predicaments as my pants.
It frankly amazes me how so many girls spend so much time on hair, make-up and clothes. Meaning no disrespect to those who do, of course. :D

With the creation of the Barrowdowns Photo Gallery (http://www.hallsofmandos.net/downs.htm), many of the Downers RL images can be seen. But that's not necessarily how you imagine them to look - my mental image of many of the Downers is very different from what they actually look like!

no skirts for this girl. I'm more or less the girl who wears the rolled up fabric pants all the time
Way back when (pre-Summer-Vacation), I'd have said the same exact thing. I still prefer rolled up pants to say... shorts... but as of this summer, my fashion sense has changed drastically. Come September and the start of school, I'm gonna have some shocked friends. :D
If it helps you picture me NOW, my taste in clothes used to be straight up pants. I much preferred pants to say... shorts, skirts, or *shudder* capris. Shirts were anything but pink and purple (with one obvious exception, but I didn't wear that shirt much). Generally, my style reflected the fact that I wanted my guy friends to count me as one of the guys, and if they were visually reminded that I'm a girl, they would get all flirty and annoying... terrifying really.
I'd say the major "fashion rule" that applies to my before and after taste in clothes is this: It had better be comfortable, and cover everything important.

I have nothing against being girly, I just prefer to be thought of and treated as "one of the guys". It's true...nobody tells dirty jokes if ye're dressed girly...or they'll refuse to explain if ye don't get it, which is even more annoying.
I'm just oblivious to guys checking me out...I've never noticed, but other people have...I was at the mall once with my mom to buy my friend a birthday present and when we were in the car on the way home my mom said she'd seen a guy checking me out...I didn't even notice if there were any guys there! Regarding kilts, isn't it logical to just wrap yourself in cloth rather than waste time bothering to stitch legs into it? Back in the day, Scots folk were too busy fighting the Vikings/English and catching wild animals for supper to busy themselves with fine clothing. Longish dark hair that is neither exactly red nor brown. If you wear glasses, they are a pair of wire-rims that are both subtle and sophisticated. Small children love you. But that's just my imaginings, and are probably far from the truth. Alas, that's life.

I own neither cords or a button down shirt .... but my clothes fall into two main categories which fall to either side of that look ....
A recent eyetest has delayed the return to glasses a little longer (as well as kilts my child hood was blighted by a pair of blue plastic NHS glasses with sellotape over one lens, which of course I only wore when my parents or teacher were watching ....) but I do have fondness for sunglasses .... I have a spendid pair of authentic Agent Smith style ones but those currently keeping the hair from my eyes are green..... very green.... lol
Oh yes small children do like me..... the feeling isn't always mutual .... some are lovely others really annoying ....... but that often depends on the parents... :D

elronds_daughter, I find it near-impossible to imagine you as humanoid because of your bizarre avatar. really? you think it's bizarre? how can Larry the cucumber (as one of the Pirates Who Don't Do Anything) possibly be bizarre? a bit odd, perhaps, but hardly bizarre. ;):D
For any of you still inclined to try to describe me, I'll give you a hint: I'm far from anyone's description of "old" (except maybe a five-year-old's...;))
Firefoot

Larry the cucumber (as one of the Pirates Who Don't Do Anything) That's my favorite VeggieTales song... Larry is my favorite character too. I don't think it's bizarre. I haven't seen one of those movies in a while though.
Anyhow, Elrond's daughter, you are around 5'6", pony-tailed brown hair, jeans and t-shirt, athletic shoes or flip-flops, brown hair.
Mithalwen, even with your (vague) description of yourself I have a hard time getting a picture of you. I think that avvies do help even when you don't think the person looks like it. Maybe that's just me.
Fea, new avvie? Roses, I think, right?
On the topic of make-up: WHO NEEDS IT??? My mom is trying to get me interested right now, and got me some the other day. I am just fine without it, won't wear it.

Fea, new avvie? Roses, I think, right?
Indeed. It took ages to resize and reformat the picture (my computer wasn't working right, so I had to use a program I'm unfamiliar with), but it's one of my favorites.
Oh yes small children do like me..... the feeling isn't always mutual .... some are lovely others really annoying ....... but that often depends on the parents...
I know how you feel, Mith. Small children tend to love me, but... as you said, I don't always like them that much. I like to be able to play with them and hand them back off to their parents when they start to cry.

Anyhow, Elrond's daughter, you are around 5'6", pony-tailed brown hair, jeans and t-shirt, athletic shoes or flip-flops, brown hair. Wow.... That's pretty close. But the hair is waaaaay off. try again. The hight is disturbingly close, but not right on. And I more often wear cordouroys than jeans. However, I almost always wear my running shoes (they're quite well broken in... I need new ones. For running, that is. My current ones are just fine for wearing all the time.) And if I have to have shoes on a hot day, flip-flops are a blessing. They're as close to barefoot as you can get in a "no-shirt-no-shoes-no-service" place. :D
I'll give you another hint...... I sometimes get mistaken for a guy. And it doesn't bother me. It bugs my mom, but not me.
So tell me, elronds_daughter, how were you introduced to the hilarity that is VeggieTales? It might give me a hint on your appearance. Well..... That would've been way back when I was a small-ish tyke of about 8. Or something like that. My mother got out a Veggie Tales video from the library, and I immediately loved it. I think the video was the "Are You My Neighbor?" one. Either that, or it was "Where's God When I'm S-s-scared!?"
Anyway.... now here's for my images of a select few---
The Perky Ent is male, around 17, has sandy hair and his green eyes are flecked with gold. He has glasses, but wears his contacts more often, because his opinion is that glasses just get in the way. He wears T-shirts, jeans, and broken-in athletic shoes. He's 5'10", but would like to be taller.
Feanor of the Peredhil, I've seen you picture, but it didn't give many hints as to hight. You are 5'7", have grey-blue eyes, long-ish straight brown hair, and like to be comfortable. ;)
Morsul the Dark, you are male, 5'10" or above, have 1 inch long dark brown hair, dark grey eyes. You wear baggy jeans and T-shirts, and spend a lot of time at your computer, but not because you don't like people. You can frequently be found hanging out with your friends. There. I described you. Happy? ;)
Cheers!

Morsul the Dark: When I saw that your name is Andrew on another thread, I seem to remember dropping the bagel I was holding. My dog thanks you. I, however, was astounded, as I thought for sure you were a 15-year-old blonde girl with a penchant for heavy metal music and other such "dark" things. I am still having a series of issues imagining you as an Andrew (I know a few of them, and I don't really WANT to imagine you as one of that group) so you are currently stuck in the "Andrea Void". I am working relentlessly to get you out, and will soon get back to you when my imaginings encompass the correct gender.

Where's the fun of that? I personally see you as this: about 16, with brownish gold hair and you like hockey. You aren't all that tall (about 5'8") but you aren't short either. Good sense of humor, but your jokes tend to float over people's heads most of the time.

You know Perky Ent your name is pretty comical. It's sort of an oxy-moron. I know you're probably thinking "You are a moron if you just figured that out!" But you said that you wish you were 5'10" so I'm assuming you're under 17 and still have time to go through growth spirts or you're way over 17 and will no longer be growing. I think the first of the two is a little closer to the correct answer.

Perky - I must admit, I purposefully try to imagine you at least a year or two older than you actually are (this is visible in his profile, for all of you out there) because you are in actuality only two months older than my brother... you get the picture. :D So, to my imagining you are 14 or 15, 5'8", light brown hair (despite that you said you don't... whatever), and brown eyes.
Hm, Sirith said in the Know Yer Mates (http://forum.barrowdowns.com/showthread.php?p=344125#post344125) thread that almost everybody imagines me with red hair here... I'll just let you think that. :D

Van Helsing rocks...... I loved the movie (Despite bad reviews) and I loved the PS2 game, it was brilliant.. I finished it. Rather short though. Took me 2 and half hours. I do tend to associate users with their avvies... ie: Evisse is blue and glowing (that was her old avatar anyway), the Saucepan Man really does wear a pot on his head all the time, and Morsul is a giant floating letter "M"...
Actually, Morsul, you kinda destroyed my image of you! I thought of you as the kind of guy who sits in front of his computer or TV playing video games, clad in black t-shirts and listening to rock music, maybe Howard Stern... but I guess not! :D So let me try again. Perky? o.O I've been described as insane, weird, hyper, scary, and as having had too much sugar, but never as perky. You got the laughs a lot bit right. I am a girl. Yes to curly hair, but it's not shoulder length, and is only kind of brown. I don't know your definition of short, so I can't comment on that. I'm not really outgoing, actually... dancing spawn of ungoliant I see as having short, dark hair that's maybe a little wavy. She's about 5' 5", and has dark eyes (not sure what colour, but a darker shade of whatever colour they are!).
Morgul Queen, affectionately known as Morgy to her friends, appears in my mind as being Maori. She's about 5' 7" and generally has an e-vile glint in her eyes. She likes playing rugby. And when she's at the computer she sits cross-legged with her knees on the computer table.
the phantom always reminds me of a friend of mine: about 5' 11", dark hair, dark eyes, something of a theatre geek, and always wears black.

I don't know your definition of short, so I can't comment on that.
About 5'. (Sorry if I'm completely wrong!)
And I agree with you about the eyebrow piercing on the phantom, Morsul.

Ye know, ye're right...Phantom definately has an eyebrow piercing...Don't know why I didn't think of it...

I disagree entirely about the phantom. No eyebrow piercings (no piercings at all, in fact), no black hair, no exceptionally tallness. The phantom is about 5'8", has tawny brown hair, and grey eyes that scare the bejeezus out of most people (if only for the unusual coloring). His hair is somewhat like mine (not that I mean to compare you to a girl, but eh...): on the short side, but for a guy, I guess is would be considered longish. Rather floppy and laid back looking (the hair). However, to hide his not-so-terrifying appearance, the phantom owns a long black cloak and a very operatic white mask.

Let me guess......... HOT PINK!
I wish, but no. Though sometimes it kinda seems that way in the sun.
Okay, I guess I should guess (PUN!) somebody since I haven't in a while....
Saphire_Flame: I agree with Meela. I imagine you with bright redish/ orangish hair. Freckily skin and wears blue. (Don't ask me why, probably the name.)

*grins* If blue jeans would count as wearing blue, then you got that one. :D No freckles. Hair is not bright red or orange.
About 5'.
Taller. ^ ^
I'm not going to give away a whole lot. Sorry. I love hearing what my typing makes me look like. (Does that make any sense?)

*PS* - *points at name* It's Sapphire_Flame. There are two p's in the word sapphire. Sorry, but that really bugs me sometimes. ^ ^;;;

I won't make you give up your image, but, for the sake of accuracy, I'll give the truth: I'm 5' 8". :D
Okay, I'll guess again.
Sirithheruwen, I really do picture you looking like your avvie. You're about... 5' 6". And you laugh a lot. ;)

Unfortunately, I look nothing like my avvie. I do laugh a lot, though...overly much, some say. The scary thing is, I am exactly 5'6".

I just feel like describing...
Sapphire_Flame: Blonde hair, blue eyes (like sapphire :) ), rarely seen without a book in hand.

Lhunardawen: Partly because of your name, partly cause of the avatar:
Sandy brown hair, straight, likes "peasant skirts" and sandals. I guess you could possibly have contacts or glasses. :)
