View Full Version : How do you imagine other BDers
Fordim Hedgethistle

All right, I admit, I can't help myself: I'm always trying to form mental images of other BDers. It's a sickness. I don't really want to know what my fellow Downers are like in the real world, since it's what goes on here that matters, but for some reason I just get these really intense visions of certain people. I was wondering if this is the same for others out there?
To get the ball rolling. The following are some of the BDers who I have very clearly defined pictures of in my mind's eye:
Durelin: She has very black, very straight, shoulder-length hair. She's not very tall (sorry Durelin), but carries herself with assurance. She wears glasses, but they're very trendy and selected to match her wardrobe which is dominated by sensible, solid colours. Her eyes are probably brown, but might be dark green.
Saucepan Man: He is very skinny and tall, lanky possibly, but with the first signs of a pot belly (sorry SpM). He has a beard that he likes to keep closely and neatly trimmed, but he can't always manage that. Hair and eyes are brown, with the hair slightly curly. His fingers are long and nimble. He likes to wear sweaters and cords, or possibly khakis, never jeans. His clothes are well made and fit properly, but they're all just a little threadbare.
Pio: She wears her hair in a bun that is always threatening to come loose; the colour of her hair is probably auburn or red, most likely a deep brown with red highlights. Her eyes are absolutely brown. She is very tall and walks with great aplomb. She desses in cotton shifts and dresses only, except when she is gardening, which is when the old overalls come out. She likes to wear hats, but prefers sensible things that keep off the sun to frouffy beflowered things. She has a few freckles and burns easily (hence the hats).
Kransha: He is of medium height and build (sorry Kransha), with black hair that's always getting in his eyes. He has a goatee that he thinks is quite fetching but some find it a little silly (very sorry Kransha). His eyes are dark brown. He likes to wear dark clothes, usually a button down shirt with jeans or dark trousers. He smiles a lot, and wears glasses -- small, round glasses that are supposed to look like Lennon's, and sometimes do.
I hope nobody takes offense. I hope even more fervently that I don't find out what these people actually look like, as this is much more fun.
There are a number of people around here who I would like to have a mental picture of but do not, as of yet: Aman, Himaran, Eowyn Skywalker, Nurumaiel, Aylwen (although I'm pretty close to one with her), The Barrow Wight, Esty and Bethberry are currently at the top of my wish-list.

I must admit, there are many people who look suspiciously like their avatars ;) ... in particular Saucepan Man and Estelyn. There are a few though...
Finwe: tallish, with long, shiny jet-black hair. She is very confident, both in the way she walks and dresses, and she looks just as good in jeans and a T-shirt as in stylish clothes. A rather sophisticated face, with dark eyes. The hair is what stands out most to me, I don't know why.
Nilpaurion Felagund: Tall, with spiked blonde hair. He has light blue eyes, or maybe green. For some reason it is very easy to imagine him with a surf board.
I agree with Fordim that Pio should have auburn hair.
More when I think of them...
Durelin

I will definitely not mar your image of me, as it is very fun...I seem so much more interesting in this description. Let met just tell you that one or two parts of it are very close to correct.
I am just flattered to know that I have an image in your mind... Should I be flattered by this? :D
Unfortunately, I am not one to picture anything in my head. For someone I have never seen, there is always a vague image of sorts that I associate the person with. I will just say that you, Fordim, are an ever changing image of some dusty old professor with a beaky nose and small, round glasses...very much a 'Giles from Buffy' figure. (very sorry, Fordim)

If I may but in then the Giles from Buffy thing is really a compliment - Anthony Head's most famous pre-Buffy role was as the absolute dreamboat next door neighbour in a long running UK coffee commercial.... :D :p

This is a great idea, Fordim. I have a loosely formed mental image of almost everyone who I interact with here, as well as prototype images like "annoying newby", "Legolas lover" (eerily similar, although one is male and the other female, respectively), and "the Quiz Room BDer". I probably fall under the former category, but hey, I know what I look like.
Here are a few BDers who I try to picture based on their posting personalities:
Kransha - A wiry, sinister looking Brit, with a prominent nose, spectactles and a Van Dyke. He probably wears a leather jacket and smokes cigarettes. Sorry, Kransha, for adding another unflattering verbal drawing of you to what Fordim already said, but your self-proclaimed evilness makes it easier.
The Barrow-Wight - Tall, dark-haired, with dark, intense eyes that will quickly lighten up with a good laugh. It is a vague picture, but distinct from my images of other BDers nonetheless. This is by no means intended as shameless sucking-up, but I picture the B-W rather the same as I picture Beren when I read The Silmarillion.
This is fun. I will do more later, when I've read what other people write.
Has anyone seen the Chat Mod/Wight pics? I can't get the image of Gregory Peck out of my head whenever I read one of Mithadan's posts.
Here is a list of BDers, in alphabetical order, who I picture as their avatars (however unrealistic the pictures are):
Durelin (the old, less creepy one)
Fordim Hedgethistle
The Perky Ent (the old Calvin one, not Strong Bad)
Rimbaud
Saucepan Man, The
Squatter of Amon Rudh, The
Sirithheruwen

*NOTE: NONE OF THESE IMAGININGS ARE MEANT TO INSULT.*
Saphire_Flame: Short, shoulder-length curly brown hair, laughs a lot, perky, outgoing, blues eyes, female.
Tinuviel of Denton : tall, willowy (sp?), quiet, long wavy blonde/brown hair, grey eyes, intelligent, female.
Naz: Wild, outgoing, life-of-the-party, black hair, brown eyes, short, female.
Finwe: smart, female, long straight black hair, thin, medium-height, quiet until you get to know her, hazel eyes.

I'll admit it... I don't necessarily picture the complete image of people, but more like bits and pieces. Even when I'm creating original characters for my own work, they come together VERY slowly. But I have got a few "images" of you all. Forgive me if they are completely off, just remember: my imagination, not yours. Neh neh neh neh boo boo. :D
Lady Snickerdoodle: You, Snick, have a pair of hazel eyes that give off a "gleam" when you are plotting something, or remembering a particularly funny instance.
Mithadan: Mith's got tawny hair (somewhat unkempt), going slightly silver in the temple area. He's taller than most, and wears mostly khakis or cords, with brown leather shoes, and button up shirts. His ties are usually loosely tied or long-since-untied, but have interesting pictures on them. He is usually working on half a cup of cold coffee. He's never broken the matching belt/shoes rule.
Firefoot: You, Firefoot, are a tall and lanky redhead, with a penchant for explosives and/or staying up 'til the wee hours around bonfires while shooting the breeze with friends.
The Barrow Wight: A thirty-something year old comic book fan with an ever growing list of Things To Do, Mister BW has a pair of square-framed glasses that he usually forgets he's wearing on top of his head.
Eowyn Skywalker: Ms. Skywalker has a well broken in pair of combat boots (good girl ;) ) and can usually be seen trying to flick her dark brown hair (with gold and red streaks) out of her face, so she doesn't miss her mark while playing with her homemade swords.
Fordim Hedgethistle: Fordim has the sort of Presence that when he walks into a room, people notice, and when he says something, people listen. Even for all of his power, Fordim isn't the least bit arrogant. He doesn't know there IS a matching belt/shoe rule. ;)
Once again, sorry if I'm absurdly wrong.

I must admit, there are many people who look suspiciously like their avatars
Well, I got a lot of posts on the "Fave Avatars" thread that said mine was really scary, so I'm curious to know if anyone thinks I look like my avvie! :D
Durelin: Ever since you let slip that your name is Rachael (sp?) (at least, I think it was you...), I have imagined you to look exactly like my friend who just happens to be named Rachael too. She has short, honey-colored hair, is somewhat short, and really perky. :)

so I'm curious to know if anyone thinks I look like my avvie! Actually, I do. But I also said I liked your avvie...
Sleepy Ranger: No, you don't look like your avatar. You have a mischievous face, and brown curly hair that looks like you just woke up. You where T-shirts and broken in jeans, and when you aren't on the computer you are skateboarding.
Eowyn Skywalker: Medium length light brown hair - possibly streaked. Average height. She is usually smiling and has an easy laugh. When she gets defensive there is a fierce look to her eyes. She is athletic looking.
Mr. Underhill : There is something dark about your appearance. A wide hat brim shades your eyes so that they aren't readily seen.Firefoot: You, Firefoot, are a tall and lanky redhead, with a penchant for explosives and/or staying up 'til the wee hours around bonfires while shooting the breeze with friends. Very interesting... I won't tell you how true it is.

Lady Snickerdoodle: You, Snick, have a pair of hazel eyes that give off a "gleam" when you are plotting something, or remembering a particularly funny instance. :D Completely flattered, Fea. :D not saying if its accurate or not.
The feature that stands out to ME about you, Feanor, is your mouth. You pout a lot (in a good way), stick your tongue out at people but smile and laugh the rest of the time. And you're a tomboy.
Nilpaurion Felagund: dark hair, dark eyes. you have a rubber chicken dangling out of your back pocket. (no idea, but it seems to fit!)
Saraphim: you seem moderately punk-ish to me... (again, i mean that in a good way) and i imagine that you always have a manga or anime book close at hand.
Sirhirtheruwen: bohemian chic, carrying around a notebook with doodling and random passages stuck in it. Constantly murmuring jokes and quips under your breath to make everyone around you crack up.
The Barrow Wight: a bit like a younger Gandalf, forbidding and intimidating but ocassionally you forget to look official which ruins your credibility.

Now this is a very amusing thread!
However, haven't you guys seen the album Alakaloonien (Is that his name?) had on his site? It was a Barrowdowns photo gallery with quite a few of the members. I recall seeing BW, Aylwen, Estelyn (?) etc. I may have seen them on other threads too, such as Have you met a fellow Bder? There some of the members that had met each other had put up a photo of the "event".
Besides, if you go here (http://www.barrowdowns.com/chatwights.asp), you'll see quite a few faces. (Only go here, though, if you're tired of wondering about some of the famous BDers, and just want to know what they look like. ;))
Just wanted to let you know about this, in case you were tired of wondering. If not, however, keep on imagining them. ;)
Cheers,

Anyways, "jokes and quips"? I honestly have no idea if I'm funny or not...hmmm...I'll have to ask my friend sometime.

but yeah. there are a bunch of BDers who (in my mind at least) look like their avatars. you, Sirith, are one. the rest of the list (that i can think of) is:
Saucepan Man
The Perky Ent (the old Calvin one. not strong bad.)
Eowyn Skywalker (but only slightly.)
Bombadil
Saraphim
Estelyn Telcontar
Carlas
and that's all i can think of right off the bat. i'll add more as i remember them.
Cheers!

~*~
My eyes are absolutely brown.
I am 5’4” tall, olive skinned (no freckles!) – a mixture of Filipina, Native American, and Irish. I have very, very short dark black hair with silver highlights, usually worn a little spiked.
As to aplomb, I am fairly self-confident but to be honest I am often found be-bopping to some latino music, most likely Cubano, as I walk along. And I am given to singing a cappela in stairwells by myself or with friends.
My friends’ mouths would drop open if they ever saw me in a dress. It’s well-worn jeans and old, soft Camp Nurse t-shirts for me. The one I’m currently wearing says ‘Paddle it! Hike it! Climb it! Bike it!’ and bears the painted handprints of a delightful group of little campers who gave it to me as their favorite candy-giver.
My husband is the one who gardens, and I love to look at his wild, eclectic plantings. I do manage to water my faithful bromeliad and keep my little bamboo plant alive, along with my two cacti.
Hats . . . I do have a large straw hat with a garland of rosebuds round it from the last Grateful Dead concert I attended, along with a number of old buttons from Bob Dylan gigs. I wear it when I go canoeing now, to keep the top of my nose from crisping.
I’ll have to admit I have always wanted to be tall and have thick, curling red hair . . . ;)
The Saucepan Man
06-27-2004, 07:27 PM
Saucepan Man: He is very skinny and tall, lanky possibly, but with the first signs of a pot belly (sorry SpM). He has a beard that he likes to keep closely and neatly trimmed, but he can't always manage that. Hair and eyes are brown, with the hair slightly curly. His fingers are long and nimble. He likes to wear sweaters and cords, or possibly khakis, never jeans. His clothes are well made and fit properly, but they're all just a little threadbare.*Saucepan, having just taken a mouthful of coffee, involuntarily spits it out over his keyboard in a combination of amusement and horror*
If only the first sentence were true, Fordim, but alas I am very much beyond the "first signs" stage. :( More pots and saucepans are required to fill the growing gaps with each passing year. :D And I have to say that I am not a "beard" person.
With the continued absence of Alkanoonian's B-D'er gallery (which is sadly missed), the avatar image will do just fine for me.
Even though I have had the benefit of having seen many of my fellow Downers, courtest of Alk's gallery, the avatar images nevertheless remain my prime source of reference for many. Estelyn, to my mind, is, and will always be, Princess Fiona. :D
Elennar Starfire

I also see people as their avatars.
Obviously I don't think Firefoot is a horse, but when I think of Firefoot, the image of a horse (the one in the avvie, o'course) comes to mind. I even think of the friends I've gotten to join forums as their avvies when I think of something they've posted.
There are a few I can imagine otherwise, however... (not intended to insult, of course!)
Amarantha_Daisy: Rather short, with long curly dark brown hair. She has a big smile and a cute little nose, with a few small freckles. Her eyes are light brown. She wears t-shirts, jeans, and sneakers.
burrahobbit: Very neat. A somewhat large nose, but it makes him look dignified, though cynical. He has dark brown eyes and black hair. Wears suits often.
Barrow-Wight: Sandy hair, with a receding hairline (sorry, Barrow-Wight!). Spectacles perched on a dignified nose. A humorous sparkle in his hazel eyes. Wears t-shirts and jeans. Capable of making hilarious comments without cracking a smile.

*Fordim bursts into tears of uttermost joy and clasps his hands in front of his chest* SoN, you think of Indianna Jones when you think of me???? *Renewed tears of joy*
I will just say that you, Fordim, are an ever changing image of some dusty old professor with a beaky nose and small, round glasses...very much a 'Giles from Buffy' figure. (very sorry, Fordim)
My Dear Durelin. Well, "dusty," sometimes, esp after a day spent in the garden; as to "old," I have no doubt that to many in the forums I am probably one step shy of a walker and pureed food, but I assure you I am spry and nimble yet. Can't do anything about the "professor" label ;)
This issue of the nose, however, I must address: I have a wonderful proboscis of noble lineage. And my glasses are far more rectangular than round, although I do tend to favour smaller glasses rather than larger. I'm not terribly familiar with Buffy (can I still post to the Downs?) so have no comment on this Giles fellow. I shall assume that he bears a striking resemblance to Johnny Depp. . .
I’ll have to admit I have always wanted to be tall and have thick, curling red hair . . .
Fear not, my dear friend Pio, for that is the beauty of the Downs: I have impressed upon my mind the image of yourself as a 5'10" Amazon, with breath-takingly vibrant red hair. Your wishes have come true (but only if you impress upon your mind the image of Harrison Ford circa 1979 for me).
(Related Anecdote: Soon after the first movie came out I said to a room-full of 400 undergraduates, "So this Orlando Bloom is supposed to be the most beautiful man around these days? I don't get it, he looks nothing like me." It was meant as a joke, but I was wholly unprepared -- and a little hurt -- by the gales of laughter that washed over the room for the next minute or so. . .)
Saraphim
06-27-2004, 10:15 PM
Saraphim: you seem moderately punk-ish to me... (again, i mean that in a good way) and i imagine that you always have a manga or anime book close at hand.
:D
Well, you're definitly right about the manga bit. I suppose my Sephiroth avvy kind of hints to that. I suppose you're right about the "punkish" part as well, to a certain degree.
I do wear over-large pants and I have a collection of T-shirts (mostly with witty lines or band names, and bought from the internet) that I wear over a cotton dress shirt.
My brown hair is rather flat and almost comes to my shoulders, but I usually pull it back. I'm taller than I would like to be, at 5'11. I have very thick glasses and more ear peircings than my father appreciates.
I usually consider people by their avatars as well. Eomer of the Rohirrim will always look like Eomer to me.
But here's some more:
Perky Ent: I imagine you as the funny trickster-type, with a big grin and dark hair that hangs in your eyes.
The Barrow-Wight: You're the kind of person (in my head, at least) that wears sweater-vests, but also a ponytail.
Everyone from the Nearsighted Elves Society: You all have glasses. (Tee Hee :p )

OK and Meela- I havent seen around for a bit. But Ive always imagined her as this crazy ebony haired lass who strolls around all day in long dresses lamenting Denethor.
Estelyn Telcontar
06-28-2004, 06:26 AM
Estelyn, to my mind, is, and will always be, Princess Fiona. That's what I get for keeping the same avatar so long, but I don't think I dare change it anymore! (Besides, she's the only fairy-tale princess who's not too saccharin sweet for me.) Perhaps I should use the ogre Fiona picture for awhile, so that those who see my real photo or meet me in person will be pleasantly surprised?!
There's a similar old, closed thread on the Barrow-Downs forum called What do you think the Barrow-Downers look like? (http://forum.barrowdowns.com/showthread.php?t=4563) - you might enjoy reading through it. Alas, many of those named there, including Maril, who started it, are rarely or no longer active here...

Mischevious face? Actually its not but I'm mischevious like always except when it comes to certain people then I'm a well mannered snob (bet nobody thought of me as a well mannered snob) :p . Its not curly but its dark brown and yes it does look like I just woke up. T-Shirts and broken in jeans, that fits me to a tee. How true. But you forgot the glasses, with a power of 7 and 8 (left & right, respectively). Just wish I could eggplant. :(
And I only skateboard when I'm not playing cricket or football or on the computer pr PS2 or reading LoTR. :)
So thats a bit of me. Now make crazy mental images.

Also, in my naive little world that is the Barrowdowns, almost everyone is under the age of 30, excluding some, namely: Sharku, The Barrow-wight, The Saucepan Man, burrahobbit, piosenniel, and Estelyn Telcontar. (Sorry, you guys!) The others are 20-somethings and teenagers. (Lucky you! ;) )
Also, I seem to imagine prominent males on the 'Downs to also have very prominent noses. Those people are: Sharku, The Barrow wight, The Saucepan Man, Kransha, burrahobbit, and Fordim Hedgethistle. :p

Having very little imagination of my own I always think of people as their avatars, whether it's a person, animal, or object. Like Orofaniel who I will always imagine as a crazy dancing mouse. I even started thinking of myself as a chinese woman with green hair, but was disappointed when I later looked into the mirror (I actually changed my avatar today, but that lasted all of ten minutes).

Fordim Hedgethistle

I think I've got Bethberry finally: she's West Indian (that's why it took me so long; I am, like most Canadians, myopically white-eyed, if you know what I mean); her ancestry is primarily African with some European and even a smidge of Arawak thrown in (which accounts for the high cheekbones and flawless complexion). Her eyes are a deep deep green, startlingly bright, particularly against the dark brown of her skin. She is not very tall, but stately. She has one very crooked tooth in the front of her mouth that does not distract from the whiteness of her smile, which she is quick to flash but would be well worth the wait.
I've also figured out Aylwen: she's short (sorry Aylwen) but scrappy; her hair is brown and inevitably in a pony tail; she's deeply tanned from so much time spent outdoors, and she's lean from all the exercise. Her eyes are brown but always smiling, even when her mouth isn't. She's not conventionally pretty (i.e. Hollywood) but she is very attractive to those with the eyes to see her properly. She always wears jogging shorts and a soccer shirt: not sure of the team, yet, but it's probably an Italian squad -- absolutely not Man United (too predictable).

Nova,
Hey, us birds need to hang together! Then again, with you being a duck, and me being an eagle, your life might be cut a little short if I get hungry. :D
I adopted my avatar to go along with my shapechanging character on the Here be Dragons game. That brings me to a related question. We've talked about posters who "look like" their avatars. How about posters who "look like" their RPG characters? Sometimes, when I'm playing with someone in a game, their character rings a bell in my head and, ever after, character and person are synonymous.
I've played in several games with Nurumaiel as a young hobbit. Every time I see a post from Nuru, I have an image of a young hobbit girl in my head, even though she bears an Elvish name. No matter what I do, no matter how many other stories we play in, that image sticks.
The same goes for Piosenniel . Whatever description she may give on this thread, I'm quite sure that in some other dimension she looks and acts exactly like her Elvish character Pio, complete with throwing knives tucked into her boots. The same goes for Mithadan and his character in the Star series.
Fordim, you had the good fortune to play in Land to Call Their Own. Well, you may play in a million games after this, but you'll always be "Fordogrim" to me: the stubborn, irascible, but always loveable senior citizen Hobbit!
Aman, like it or not, you are the proprietor of the Green Dragon Inn. You ride a wicked horse and toss out rowdy patrons when needed with aplomb!
I could go on with this, but you get the idea....

Ahem, the funny thing is Merisuwyniel actually crossed my mind when writing the original post. Hey, that's not so bad. It's got to be better than Wyrma!

Let those tears flow.
Well, SoN, that is a relief. I had horrific images in my mind of you writing and telling Fordim that you had actually imagined him looking like his old avatar!
Child, I certainly understand what you are saying and that's why I imagine you as looking like a Cami Goodchild type of hobbit, and Fordim as a young, inexperienced yet talented bard. In fact most of my images of the Downers come from the RPGs as that is where I mostly spend my time.
Aman, I have an image in my head of you as tall, dignified but with a wild streak in you, with greyish-green eyes and slightly curly red hair. Your skin is fair without the faintest sign of freckles, and while you dress mostly in dresses/skirts they are designed to provide ease in riding and other such sports. You're a very kind, sociable person but not overtalkative; you know how to sit and think if you so desire.
Aylwen has golden-brown hair (it leans towards being more brown than gold) and dark eyes. About average height; friendly, open and warm; very wise on the subject of history; with a fine singing voice; often found sitting by a fireside telling those who will listen tales of Bonnie Prince Charlie and singing songs to that effect.
Sirithheruwen has dark, dark hair, nearly black, and while her eyes are grey there is a flicker of blue in them for the keen observer to perceive. She is tall, slender, and very Elvish looking. If she does not let her waist-length hair fall loose she has tied it back in a neat braid or perhaps put it atop her head in a very charming fashion.
Firefoot has rich auburn hair and sparkling brown eyes. She is a very friendly person and is much like a hobbit... in fact remarkably like her character Lily from the Green Dragon.
Mark12_30 looks a mixture of Hobbit and Scottish, and one thinks of the Shire and the Highlands while looking at her. Her whole being radiates kindness and she has a very motherly personality, which instantly wins the trust and affection of all children about her. In her spare time she rambles through the woods, following deer-trails and also little paths she fancies she might find Little People at the end of. She enjoys climbing trees to perch atop the high branches and play her harp, or perhaps her tin whistle, and maybe even her guitar! She loves to sing and is quite good at it.
Pio, I tend to follow the general trend and imagine you with long auburn hair, being tall and stately, wearing dresses, and so on and so forth. I'm afraid even your description of yourself does not waver this mental image of mine.
The Saucepan Man looks like his name. And....
*Saucepan, having just taken a mouthful of coffee, involuntarily spits it out over his keyboard in a combination of amusement and horror*
No matter how ridiculous I have ever found anything on the 'Downs, I have never laughed aloud no matter how much I was laughing inwardly... This sentence was the first to make me laugh aloud, and it is doing so now. Now my mental image of you is the above quote. Not so much that you are constantly spitting your coffee over the keyboard, but it is what I will think of whenever I see your name. :D
Audreidi

Sigh...this would be so much easier if I had discovered these forums two years ago...
One thing I can say: Eowyn Skywalker, in my opinion, is a lot more like her avatar than the two descriptions I've seen here, though those descriptions are akin to what I might have gone with had I never actually seen her in person. ;)
The Perky Ent, I think, is of average height and wiry build, and seems to have much in common with Calvin of Calvin & Hobbes, due to the avatar, of course. How biased they make me... and somehow I envision a chess board nearby.
Here's a challenge: try to envision me, a relative newb at these boards. Hint: I (hopefully, but Eowyn S. can vouch for me) do NOT look anything like my avatar. :D

Nuru - I feel complimented! There are many characteristics about Lily that I wish I had myself, though there are also several that are quite like myself. I, alas, have no clear picture of you; I am still trying to figure that out.

Which one of you are we supposed to envision? Audreidi or Jandalf? Since I've known you two a little longer than most of the fine people on here, I guess I might have a bit of a picture.
Jandalf always seemed like she should have short, bouncy red hair, and have a lot of energy.
I don't really know how I picture Audreidi, but she always has dark hair in my mind. I don't know exactly how that works, but ya know..... strange things happen in my mind. *shrugs*

Well, since I kept close tabs on Alk’s picture page, I’ve seen a lot of members as they really are, so my mental picture sort of jives with that.
This leaves me with two options pertaining to this thread. A: I could write picture perfect descriptions of those members and pretend that I’m just that psychic. However, since I have already given myself away, I shall opt for option B:
Estelyn Telcontar
Esty is somewhere between 70 and 80. She’s had a hard life, and lost all of her head hair, so she wears a blonde wig that is in stark contrast with her bushy black eyebrows. Indeed, though she is bald on top, all other areas are well covered. She dresses in burlap tunics, which she has hand embroidered with tulips and daffodils.
THE Squatter of Amon Rûdh
Squatter is, in a word, squat. He is roughly twice as wide as he is tall, and rumor has it that he has not stood on his own two feet since 1978. His hair is long and flowing, except when he braids it or wears it in twin buns above his ears. He favors tight leather, though “tight” is basically what anything would be on his frame.
burrahobbit
Likes dresses.
Mithadan
Good Ol’ Mith is sunburnt to a crisp, except for his nose, which he has liberally plastered with sunscreen. He is tall and muscular, because he spends 90% of his life in the gym or on the beach, working out and sucking his stomach in when the ladies pass by. Indeed, he is one giant flexing muscle from head to toe. His hair is slicked back with Pomade, and he always carries a comb with him, which he tucks in his Speedos when not using.
Bêthberry
Bêth is red, round, and plump, a right cute little berry. She chortles and chuckles while talking and typing, and has a little habit of hooking her pinky in the corner of her mouth. Her hair is a tangle of red frizzy curls, and is home to two bird’s nests and a spider’s web. She is never caught wearing anything but gingham dresses, though in private she has tried on the odd spandex catsuit every now and then.
The Saucepan Man
Saucy is always, but always, sauced. His red rimmed eyes and bulbous nose gives away his binge drinking nights, though during the day he tries to pretend that he is Okay. His clothes are muddy and torn, but he doesn’t notice, playing the dashing rogue wherever he goes. He wears a pork pie hat and smokes old stogies.
The Barrow-Wight
B-W really needs to eat more. He is so skinny that you can play backgammon on his ribcage. He shaves his head so that you can see his bluish scalp in all its glory, and wears a black headband. There is a bull ring in his nose, seven studs in his eyebrows, and a faux emerald navel piercing in what appears to be his belly button. Also, a tattoo of a naked hula dancer on his right biceps, if you can call it a biceps, because he’s so wasted. B-W shuns shirts, but wears baggy denim pants that hang down to reveal his red silk boxer shorts.
Sharkû
It’s unclear what Sharkey really looks like, because he always wears his Bonbon the Clown costume.
Mister Underhill
Underhill is thin, but in a tense, ready-to-pounce kind of way. He dresses in snappy black suits, ominously glinting platinum tie clips, and always wears shades that reflect back at you. His hair is receding at a disturbingly rapid rate, but he doesn’t notice, and walks around with a swagger that indicates he is the most highly intelligent life form he knows. That’s Missssster Underhill, to you.

And Gil-Galad
6 feet
67 kg
long black hair
Uh, purple eyes?

Kransha
06-29-2004, 06:25 AM
Kransha: He is of medium height and build (sorry Kransha), with black hair that's always getting in his eyes. He has a goatee that he thinks is quite fetching but some find it a little silly (very sorry Kransha). His eyes are dark brown. He likes to wear dark clothes, usually a button down shirt with jeans or dark trousers. He smiles a lot, and wears glasses -- small, round glasses that are supposed to look like Lennon's, and sometimes do.
Well, I can't even come close to imagining the physical and/or mental features of many others here, but they have certainly pinpointed me. Just for clarification:
Yes, I have some facial hair which I find fetching, but it is actually combined with a undeveloped moustache, so I can chide you for that, Fordim. I fancy I look I bit more like Vladimir Lenin than I do like John Lennon, but you were right about the glasses (as you were about figure, build, hair color and...most everything else *sobs at how translucent I am, but immediately stops, realizing people can now imagine what he looks like when sobbing*) I think the choice of clothing varies, but also right genuinely. Oh, I've been read like a book, and I can hardly do the same in return.
As to Son of Numenor, wiry and sinister are probably good words on the subject, and I've been told I look like a brit, though I am not one. I am a proud non-smoker, but I've been known to quaff a keg of vodka or two...Otherwise, right on. And yes, to whoever honored me with the title 'prominent,' I do have a prominent nose. I think it might be hooked, but I can't tell, because my seven years of bad luck have yet to wear off.
For y'all, I can only say the most simple of things. I am convinced that our esteemed F. Hedgesthistle Esq. is either a very large, powerful, and intelligent demigod, or a semi-imposing fellow with a modest fashion sense, a commanding voice, a powerful resolve, and a brain that basically wants out, as there is not enough room in his skull. I have a vague picture, which is of a man in a jacket with a very neatly framed face and build, though not intimidating, but this is another stem off.
I have several other pictures in my small, rudely limited head, but I must go. I'll go into that later, and I advise most moderators to beware, for I shall soon be trying my hand at your descriptions, and it shan't be pretty in the least, (save Bethberry and Pio, who struck me as being very much so, though that is, again, a mental image). For now, the stage awaits!

Eomer of the Rohirrim
06-29-2004, 08:15 AM
Diamond chips in with some truly brutal (if hilarious) descriptions of other Downers. I feel bad about stealing this chance from the people she picked but I'm going to have a go.
Diamond is tall and slender with messy, matted and long brown hair. She has a smile which is of aquired taste (though still nice) but few people notice because of her demented eyes. These are eyes that have surely seen spectres flying about her room the previous night because they seem to be staring right through you and into a distant galaxy. She wears baggy 'rock star chic' clothes straight out of the thrift stores and is constantly told how cool her clothes are by her friends, despite the fact that she barely notices what she's wearing, as her mind is constantly fixed on other, more important issues such as 'How to gain control over her home city/town' or what new thread to post on Middle-earth Mirth. She is extremely friendly and will talk to any weirdo who approaches her but consciously makes a mental note of them for later. As a result she has a nigh on perfect memory of everything she has ever done or said.

The feature that stands out to ME about you, Feanor, is your mouth. You pout a lot (in a good way), stick your tongue out at people but smile and laugh the rest of the time. And you're a tomboy.
I showed this to my brother and he snickered. I showed it to my boyfriend and he cracked up. Have you been following me around? This is the closest description of myself I've ever read. Too bad you didn't mention my looks... I'd be interested to read how you think I appear to people.

I must admit after I played in Hills of Evendim I always see Imladris as her now deceased character Lira. She has blonde sort of messy hair, thin and tall; but I've imagined her far more beautiful and not so lanky but still thin with blue or brown eyes.
This goes as well for LMP (littlemanpoet) now I always imagine him looking similiar to Falowik, with shoulder length golden locks and blue-grey eyes and sort of ruggish looking. Or perhaps dark hair and green eyes. I don't know I'm not very good at this :p
I wonder what people think of me? I havn't been around that long.

From laughing? Or because B-W is going to kill you? Well, I'll keep you company in the afterlife, I just choked on my soda, spit it all over the computer screen, and died laughing. Those were absolutely hilarious!
I wonder what mental pictures people have of me...
Feanor of the Peredhil
06-29-2004, 02:52 PM
Ellenar Starfire's got dusty brown hair with some blonde highlights from spending her reading time outside under trees (think introduction to movieFrodo). She can be seen often with her vivid blue eyes looking inward, trying to remember the answer to a question that nobody asked, but those same eyes are quick to flash temper if someone provokes her.
Fordim: I fully had you pegged as Indie, but as that's a nickname of mine, I didn't want to say anything. ;) However, if it please you, I will forever imagine you as the good Doctor Jones.
The Saucepan Man: Il Duce from The Boondock Saints. ( http://students.cup.edu/col2749/BoondockSaints.htm scroll down to where there's a picture of an old guy and two young dark haired guys; the old one is Il Duce.) Substitute the guns with pans or a book, and you've got pretty close to my version of Saucie.

Oh wow. This is so dead on its scary. :p I'm not sure 5'6" is consider "tall" so much as "not short", but. And I do have really long brown hair, which gets messy if I leave it alone for more than a couple hours. The description of smile and eyes, however, are just psychic.
She wears baggy 'rock star chic' clothes straight out of the thrift stores and is constantly told how cool her clothes are by her friends, despite the fact that she barely notices what she's wearing,
 Actually, no, but that is pretty funny. I couldn't do this because I would be fired, and one can't gain control of her workplace when one is unemployed. Dress to impress, and all that.

Ha! I love it.
Eomer of the Rohirrim
Eomer seeks to emulate the Warg, and indeed, there is much that is naturally Wargish about him. His shoulders are great and hulking hams of meaty flesh, but his legs are kind of skinny. He wears his dirty blond hair long, but there are always bits of sticks and such in it from the hours he spends rooting about in the woods after his elusive first Warg sighting. His clothes suit his rugged pursuits, hefty wools and aged but tough leather. They are torn and patched in many places. He always has a chunk of chaw in the corner of his mouth, and he periodically spits out a stream of brownish liquid before arching his eyebrows, squinting, and darting into the nearby underbrush after what may be a Warg and may be an oversized rabbit.

Alright, I am unsure of many things in this world (one being the gender of several people I am about to post about), but one thing I most definitely DO know is that I, after the next recitation, will be stoned…so, please, stick to pebbles…
A Completely Off Topic Ode to a Few Barrow-Downers
Aman, mistress of the Dragon
Always has the final flagon.
Eomer’s got more bite than bark
Like a warg in darkest dark.
Fordim might not have a care
But in mind he’s loads to spare.
BW’s green, not black, not gray
And he’ll steal your life away.
Saucepan’s sauced without a fuss,
His garb of choice cacophonous.
Estelyn’s a madam great
Who puts some fun in all our fate.
Nuru is a lass who’s true
With a speck of ‘jolly’ too.
Bethberry, O regal maid,
Not a crude word ever said.
Firefoot strikes me quite the horse;
Steed of hero’s (but of course!).
Perky is a tricky lad
Throughout his days his ne’er been had.
E. Skywalker’s got quite a theme
With her the force is strong, it seems.
Meela, timid she is not,
Who says Stewards aren’t ‘hot?’
I, though, am a simple man,
With too much time on my hands…
Yours, most sincerely,
Official Barrow-Downs Sovereign of Sinister, Duke of Doom, Baron of Belligerence, Earl of Evilness, Tsar of Terribleness, Count of Calamity, Minister of Mischief, Master of Mayhem, Bringer of Bellicosity, Monarch of Madness, Lord of Lackadaisicalness, Ambassador of Anarchy, Messenger of Messiness, and All-Around Evil, Evil, Evil, Fellow,

Having very little imagination of my own I always think of people as their avatars, whether it's a person, animal, or object. Like Orofaniel who I will always imagine as a crazy dancing mouse.
Now that's interesting Carlas. =P
But the truth is, I hate to dance. I never dance. And I don't consider myself as a mouse, although I know some other people do. Crazy? Depends on who you ask... So, just a mouse then, eh? ;) Mouse is fine.
The non-dancing mouse,

Fea jumps a little too enthusiastically out of her chair, knocking over a few BDers, as well as their drinks, books, wigs, and llamas.
I second that nomination!!!! Props to Kransha, and my only regret for his most excellent poem is that I wasn't featured in it. ;)
On second thought, Fea realizes that her jumping up and knocking people, things, and llamas over has informed her dear BD friends that she is clumsy. She hastily tries to fix her phrasiology...: "Fea *doesn't* jump..."

Oh, my goodness, Fordim!
Well now, my fulsome colonial colleague, should we ever meet, shall I serve you groundnut stew or Jamaican patties? :) (Good thing you never read my Rohan RPg post as the Shepherd of the Trees--you might complain about my bark. ;))
Nuruamiel,
Well, SoN, that is a relief. I had horrific images in my mind of you writing and telling Fordim that you had actually imagined him looking like his old avatar!
Oh, but don't you think Fordim is a rambunctious, enthusiastic, panting, just-house-broken puppy?

and when I laugh my belly shakes inspite of myself! You are simply brilliant! Squatter has called it, psychic.
kransha,
Bethberry, O regal maid,
Not a crude word ever said.
You're so right, Black Speech has rarely crossed my tongue. Now, a few choice Anglo-Saxon words... ;)
Such great stuff here, truly. I wish I had time to contribute some thoughts of my own about you all. Like the White Rabbit, I am perpetually late.
Imladris

I must admit after I played in Hills of Evendim I always see Imladris as her now deceased character Lira. She has blonde sort of messy hair, thin and tall; but I've imagined her far more beautiful and not so lanky but still thin with blue or brown eyes.
Oh Eswen...I wish that that was the truth.
From the scant picture I saw of Bethberry under the Chat wights I believe, I sort of picture her as tall, with brown hair, and that "smart" look about her with glimmerings of humour around her.
Fordim I picture as very proffessorish, with glasses, pouring over old books because he's so darn smart...
And Son of Numenor I picture as a golden sun...
*cough*
Cheers,
Imladris
Son of Númenor
06-29-2004, 06:35 PM
I'm more crimson than golden, but otherwise you nailed me.
I picture Imladris as young and energetic, with pretty long, straight(ish), brown hair. She's kind of short and wears soccer shorts and a tee. She's quick to smile and laugh, but very pensive when left alone. She also often takes to parading around her room when she thinks no one can hear her, shouting Puss In Boots lines and waving a wooden stick.

Nuru: a slender medium-height irish lass (fair skin, chiseled features, cascading black curls) wearing a classic step-dance costume and ghillies: arms tight to her sides, Irish eyes smiling, and feet (and curls) flying as she burns up the floor.
Child: Cami.
Mith: Mithadan.
Birdland: Yeah, I saw the picture; but still....
Raven hair in windblown tangles,
One tress opalescent dangles...
littlemanpoet A balance of bookish and outdoorsy... You used to be blond, but now I think you have red hair. Pursues will-o-the-wisps at twilight.
Mister Underhill: Dark clothing, and a poker face; too cautious to sing or dance on a tabletop, and with the girth as measured in Rivendell, not Crickhollow.
lindil:A darkhaired elf. Check out those pointed ears.
Orual: Hmmmm.... Let me think about this one... misty and mysterious...
Imladris: Curls in tangles; an easy smile; mischeivous eyes; carries a goose quill and a bottle of soot ink.
Aylwen: lady Bella.
Saucie: Well, if he doesn't look like his avatar, what then? I'd be disillusioned.

06-29-2004, 07:04 PM
Helen, you have reminded me that I have not expressed how Orual appears in my mind, though she is probably the 'Downer I have had a mental image of for the longest time.
Orual, it is very simple and rather understandable, the way I picture you. You have red hair that is short but not too short, and you have a quick way with words that can make sharp-tongued hobbits pout with frustration because they can't think of anything clever enough to answer with. You're a great tease but you have a very kind, compassionate heart, and a wonderful gift at understanding the sorrows of others. You're more of a 'slender' type rather than 'skinny.' And of course I must not forget to mention that you have a twin brother that you are very fond of but ran away from.
I don't have a mental image of you yet, Imladris, though I came dangerously close to imagining you always as Gorby Brandybuck. Thank goodness I fought admirably with my mind, eh? ;) I do think however, that you have golden curls.
Kransha, that poem was hilarious but also truly remarkable. Maybe Sigurd should see if such an ode to Maercwen would win her heart! :D
Oh, but don't you think Fordim is a rambunctious, enthusiastic, panting, just-house-broken puppy?
*glances suspiciously at Fordim* Well, Bethberry, if I use all the willpower of my imagination I can see him as thus, save the image of him teaching a roomfull of students. I cannot picture that.
EDIT : Helen, I did forget to thank you for an adjective you used in your description of me. I have regretted the fact that in all my life only one person has used the word 'slender' in opposed to 'skinny.' With your use of the word I can make it two. Slender is more graceful than skinny, or so I've always felt. And so the humblest thanks! *bow* :D

I've had to amend my picture of you somewhat, Nuru, since you started singing Scottish songs too. Did I mention that somewhere beyond the dance floor, there's a well-played pennywhistle?

*Having only just righted himself from the fit of hysteria occasioned by Kransha's Ode, Fordim is levelled once more by mirth*
As it happens. . .
*Fordim is once more overcome by mirth*
As it happens *wiping tears from his eyes* I have been described, by more than one student, as (and I'm quoting from an old teaching evaluation here) one who "bounces around the front of the class like a puppy when he gets really excited by a poem, which he does a lot".
At least I'm house trained.

By troth, thy accolades gratified e'er is, lads and lassies of the darknened earthy mounds 'neath which those long of livelihood bereft keep conscience day and sumptuous nights in beds of spider silk and matter most grave...
In other words, w00t, you peeps like the poem. I.have.a.future (not so).
Really, I DO have bizarre pictures of all of you, mostly not human, or Middle-Earth related. I don't know, but I think that my being so dreadfully off topic must have reprecussions, but is the idea, since the other thread of similarilty is now deceased, like us. The following are those who, when I read a response or reply from them, I imagine some strange thing sitting at a keyboard and typing.
Fordim: Most realistic, yet most unreallistically, a balrog...oh yes, I've taken a very particular hint and followed the road it led to...A balrog stuffed into a professor's tweed jacket, a wide-brim fedora, sitting in a beige-velour lounge chair in his lavish estate with a whip of flame and leather at his ready hip. I believe his *ahem* 'appendages' are all carefully concealed by the aforementioned jacket.
The Saucepan Man: His avatar, of course. A cross between Bob Marley's Ghost and a shelf of men's cookware. A man, but hardly one, for what I see is a thing of tin, iron, aluminium, and other substances, mostly restricted to their master pots and pans. He has the residue of sauce upon him, and the smell of it, and sit upon a mighty thrown of recycled cans, colored a royal silver. His eyes and nose are all I see, and they are royal too. If one only saw that, one might mistake him for a past King of Olde.
Eowyn Skywalker: Eowyn, to put it mildly, or a cross between Miranda Otto and my vision of the nephew of Theoden King. A familiar fair hair and features rivalling those of many other false shieldmaiden's. I do not the presence of a lightsaber hanging idly at her side, or robes of jedi-reminiscent brown adorning her along with royal wears and those appropriated from Dernhelm.
Imladris: A cat...yes, a cat. Primarily because of Goldwine. I suppose this Pseudo-Imladris is sunny gold in color, with a regal, lion-like bearing and many fine cushion stacked on a plush throne chair as she taps each key carefully and nobly with her manicured talons. Probably writes with the same talon, with that ever-ready ink bowl, right beside that of the imported milk, that sits aside her fine feline monitor.
Eomer of the Rohirrim: An Eowarg...Eowarg sounds best. He has the body, stout build and regal, warrior's style and delicate yet flashy panache of a fighting king, but the head of a warg, and not those wretched Jacksonian hyena/lemmings. He has the head of a warg LORD, aye, a snout and muzzle that would put the best bread stallion's to shame, (but I do not doubt his bite and teeth behind those ever-pursed, kingly lips).
I have more...but, alas, I am falling asleep in my chair. Melpomene is not a kind one, she, oh no.
P.S. As there has been talk, in RPG's I participate in I try to stray from who I really am. Only one character so far has been like my true self...for those of you who read such things, or know them, I would compare myself in nature, both physical and mental, to jolly ol' Thrakmazh the Orc Captain. Otherwise, I have a touch of everyone, but that dashing, eeeeeeevil beast is the muse provided...

The Phantom: A Black Ridery type of person, usually dresses in black & if he's wearing something hooded the hood is extremely deep & quite dark (or course). Everywhere he goes he's followed by a shadowy mist of secrecy. Few have ever seen his face, in fact, I'm only guessing that he's male. Nearly 6 feet tall, The Phantom can be a menacing & intimidating form when he puts his mind to it.
The Barrow-Wight: Early 30's & doomed for problems with his eyesight (if he hasn't already got them) from squinting at his computer screen for to long to often. His desk is cluttered with the fabled Never-Ending List of Things To Do that winds it's way around obstacles, in & out of drawers & 'ending' (seemingly) in a 3 foot high wrinkled mess. The Barrow-Wight being destined for poor eyesight is also partially due to trying to make out the next thing on his ever-growing list, made more difficult by all the wrinkles, tears & cofee spills. Though I suspect he would never change starting this wonderful site, he is now a slave to the corruption of caffine, trying desperatly to keep up with his growing website. The Barrow-Wight is a character who is apt to look back into the past...wondering how he got into the mess he sees around him.

Kransha -- LOL!!!! Unfortunately I imagine you as an eye...but now I'm picturing you as a cute (though smart) robot.
I imagine everyone on the downs as the following:
About 5 foot 10 inches, with long, brown hair in a trendy cut, with dark green/grey eyes, and thin, elegant eyebrows, a cute little nose, with small, precious-looking lips. A lovely, elegant, medium length neck and petite shoulders. Curvacious hips and an incredible bust (ha). Long, subtle legs and a full rear end. Beautiful feet.
All barrow-downers have an IQ over 100 (even when they don't show it), an Austin Martin Vanquish and can think of nothing better than spending time with yours truly!!
All barrow-downers have a cute little giggle, and know exactly what I am thinking, all the time!!!
<Of course, if there is anyone surfing this site at the moment that fits the above description, then please PM me at once, or even if you dont' quite fit the description, or even as long as you aren't an orc, or even if you are an orc....>
<The above message was a hearty joke, not intended to offend anyone, or, if you are offended, then tough!>

Ok, I see I have a couple of things to sort out here. Apparently The Warg and Warg Rider Appreciation Thread is so successful that people have begun to imagine me as a Warg. Though flattering (due to the inherent mightiness of Wargs) this is innacurate. I am a humble man, no more and no less. So, sorry Kransha, but you're description is rather off track (despite this, you are still clearly a genius).
Diamond, I am rather relieved to say that you're description is also way off the mark, though I am glad to discover that my vision of you is quite near the truth. :D
Goldberry, you remember my Andrew WK avatar! Alas, I am not too similar to the Great Man himself but that is an image that I would not wish to change for you!

Well, some of this isn't quite what I really imagine you as, only what seems to fit you well (Eomer's mug of ale for one thing ;)):
Eomer of the Rohirrim: Well if you are not a Warg than you must be around 5'10, brown hair (or blonde-brown), & bluish eyes. You also love to spend time on bd with your mug of ale, which is never far off. Not to mention that you are a renown Warg-Hugger, to a falt. :D
The Perky Ent: Seems like you should be somewhat hyper (but not in a bad way), maybe perky is the word I'm looking for :p. I doubt that you are as tall as your screen name suggests, maybe 5'8" or 5'9". You probably don't wiegh to much, skinny but certainly not 'to' skinny. Blonde hair seemed to fit you best at first, but now that I think of it, black works just as well. I have the impression you're male, but don't quote me on that one.
One of the Nine

Hmmm.. the only one who I really have an image in my mind of is the Saucepan Man. I picture him as tall and lanky. Always accepting an opportunity to cook pasta. That and anything else that might have some kind of sauce in it. :D
Mad Baggins
06-30-2004, 04:54 PM
The Perky Ent
Medium height and lanky, with sandy, shaggy hair and green eyes. You'll do anything for a laugh and you have a smile that makes people laugh when they see it (not for aesthetic reasons, I assure you). Nice personality, but sometimes you're too perky for your own good. ;)
Elennar Starfire

The Saucepan Man: Dear SaucyPansy was the skinny little shrimp everyone picked on in elementary school. He's still trying to recover from the emotional scarring. He has mousy-brown hair that constantly sticks up in all directions. His nose is large and pointed, contributing much to his rodentlike appearance. He squints, due to being very nearsighted but too insecure to wear glasses, so it is impossible to tell his eye colour.
(Totally joking here! Please take no offence, SaucyPansy! ;) )

Somehow, I always imagined Pio having shoulder-length, straight blond hair, and wearing a suit. And Durelin as wearing all black and living in some deserted cabin in North Dakota. Amazing how decieving the internet can be.
Avatars are usually what do it. Of course, it is difficult to draw a human image from a picture of a sun...
Meneltarmacil
06-30-2004, 09:27 PM
Interesting, though I can't say much on the matter.
Meela: Dark, maybe black hair. She's probably of average height, and is viewed as the weird person at school. Her classmates (correctly) assume that she has no life. THIS IS NOT NECESSARILY CORRECT.
I'm curious as to what your opinion of my appearace, personality, etc. is. (I'm male, in case you didn't already know)
A note to my fellow Evendim RPGers: My hair is not dark and slightly reddish like Thoronmir's is.
Hey, I've got an idea! We should each find a picture of ourselves for an avatar, thus clearing up the confusion.
PS: Dragon Elf Odin Ragnorock, who already knows what I look like, should not post a description of me here.

I'm curious too as to what I'm like in your eyes. Do have a shot!
Btw, I'm female.
well...
bad baggins, with an avatar like that, you are going to have some trouble... I imagine you about 5 ft tall with short dark hair in a bob cut, and crazy brown eyes, a half-witted, crazy smile plastered on your face, and always dribbling mouth :P
Sleepy Ranger

Meneltarmacil looks like a gorilla. :D
But seriously you have black hair coveing your entire body arms as long as your body you use them to walk along with your legs.
Ok fine I was joking again.
Short black hair, 6'1, your face looks like you've eaten too many jalepeanos(sp?).
And did I mention you act like you're completely crazy. :p

Estel, you're the closest so far (although that's not saying much :D ) but you're still some way off. It appears that I have become quite tricky to pin down... :p
I reckon that you Estel are about 5'9, short dark hair, baseball cap, massive trainers and constantly chewing on a toothpick. As a result of this you have slightly crooked teeth but still refuse to heed your parents warnings of an early grave caused by gum damage.
(and what's this about a mug of ale? )
Oh! and Son of Numenor is extremely tall and well-built, but has completely spaced-out eyes that suggest he has never had any sleep. Also, very long shaggy hair, cuts it himself maybe once every three years?

Eomer of the Rohirrim

Sleepy Ranger, you are about 5'7 with medium length brown hair and absolutely huge eyes that don't open properly, thus you look rather strange. ;)
However, you also wear a huge black cape and are prone to lazing about on hammocks or putting on a lucky hat when you are on the barrowdowns.
Feanor of the Peredhil
07-01-2004, 07:12 AM
Eomer of the Rohirrim: Built along the lines of one of my friends: tall, but not too tall, thin, but not skinny. You've got short dirty blond hair, possibly frosted. Your saunter always leaves the suggestion that you've got a song permanently stuck in your head. Your eyes are very much brown and leave people wondering what you could possibly be thinking. Occasionally they light up with some sort of feral spark... possibly when you see a dog that looks remarkably wargish?
Sleepy Ranger: short black hair, cut in a style that allows for spikiness, but is usually stuck out bed-head style. Your eyes are vividly blue. You can usually be found leaning in close to the keyboard of your computer, trying to squint out which key is which, while sipping three day old coffee that you filched from your parents.
Please, oh please, somebody tell me what I look like? Mirrors are simply soooo overdone these days... Besides, these descriptions are far more humorous.

Feanor of the Peredhil :
Now, I know that "Peredhil" is't the same as "Periannath". I *do* realize that. Nevertheless, that's what it reminds me of. Halfling. Yes. Feanor of the halflings. (Sorry, but you asked!)
So my mental picture of you is of a darkhaired, noble, handsome, creative, artistic, proud, warlike, defiant, radiant-jewel-carrying.... hobbit.
With hair flying in the wind. And destiny swirling around him.
Feanor of the Peredhil

Ah, Mark, I thank thee, and I have but one (maybe two) things to say: I will not tell you how accurate you are, because I rather like this description. :D What I will say is that the name Feanor of the Peredhil was chosen based on translation, as opposed to characters or *gender*. ;)

Short black hair *Meneltarmacil has a heart attack and dies* My hair is anything but short and black. 6'1 You've overshot the mark by a few inches, but that wasn't a bad guess. your face looks like you've eaten too many jalepeanos(sp?). I don't even know what that looks like. I have never eaten a jalapeno in my life. And did I mention you act like you're completely crazy. How very true. I could, of course, just tell you what I look like, but that would ruin all the fun. Keep guessing, people!

Massive trainers? Expand a bit on that one... Other than that, the hieght is about right, but not much else :p. Sorry, but I don't chew toothpicks, my parents would have a fit now that the braces accomplished their mission only a year ago :D.
p.s. the mug of ale just fits the idea of you I have in my head, though I'm sure it's not true ;)
Mad Baggins: Hmm, 5'4, 110-125 lbs, about 13-15 with blondish hair. Sometimes a little crazy/hyper, but hey, aren't we all? (I always assumed you were a guy...until you said you weren't of course)
Meneltarmacil: Lets see: 5'11", 130-140 lbs. About 14-16, closer to the 16 than the 14. Black hair & sunglasses seem to fit my image of you pretty well, though I've got to admit I always thought of you as a girl until you said otherwise... I think you're somewhat addicted to chocolate milk, though I can't say I don't envy you for that.
Son of Numenor: 6 foot mabye? Skinnyish, but not to skinny, black or brown hair, 15-18, probably closer to 18, good at crossword puzzles & riddles, & never one to shy away from a pizza (who is?). You like action movies, have already seen Spiderman 2, & will probably be sitting out on your lawn smoking pipe this 4th of July (well, maybe not).

Of course, for people who don't have avatars (like One of the Nine or Fea) I'm having trouble imagining them. Now Firefoot has gone and confused the hell out of me by changing her avatar from a horsie to a lion! *mumbles* shapeshifters... :D
Feanor of the Peredhil
07-01-2004, 02:38 PM
Keeper of Dol Goldur: Whenever I read this guy's work, I picture a black haired, black eyed (possibly induced by contacts?) lanky guy leaning over some unfinished work, be it writing, drawings, or just reading some archaic documents. I can fully see him using a pair of brass knucks as a paper weight.
Sadly, I know Keeper, and so I also know that this description is pretty far off the mark. But my imagination is my own.
Evisse the Blue: about the same as I imagine Fleur Delacour from the Harry Potter books, only less snooty by far. ;) Evisse has a skintone that reflects blue light, oddly enough, so although she looks nothing like a smurf, she is most certainly bluish.
I guess this is what happens to those of us who stick adjectives in our user names... :D

Firstly, I do talk online a lot. Very spunky, too. Good job! :)
Let's see. You have a very good sense of humour. You have dirty-blondish hair that is straight and grows halfway down your back. Your eyes are a dark brown, nearly black. They freak people out sometimes until they notice your warm demeanor. People always feel comfortable around you.

Whoa, that's crazy! Right on the mark.

Well now...isn't this interesting...

The Only Real Estel
07-01-2004, 07:44 PM
Durelin: Let's see...I'd say you're about 14, but probably nearly 15. You strike me as male (I hope I'm right on that one), 5'10" or 5'11", black hair, black/grey eyes, dressing in as much black as you can. You seem to be a relative of The Phantom, or at least he has a lot of similarities to him. Athletic, but you don't mind spending a lot of time on your computer either. And if you are female...everything still goes except you're only about 5'6"-5'8".
Saucepan Man: despite your earlier post, you are still tall and lanky in my mind, and your face is like your avatar.
I have a hard time imagining Saucepan Man as anything other than his avatar, actually. :)
Kind've like how I can't shake the mental picture of Estelyn Telconater as the Princess off of Shrek (can't remember how to spell her name :D), even though I already know what she really looks like.
Nilpaurion Felagund
07-02-2004, 02:04 AM
Nilpaurion Felagund: Tall, with spiked blonde hair. He has light blue eyes, or maybe green. For some reason it is very easy to imagine him with a surf board.
Nilpaurion Felagund: dark hair, dark eyes. you have a rubber chicken dangling out of your back pocket. (no idea, but it seems to fit!)
Funny. No-one thinks I look like my avvie. *shrugs shoulders*
Lady Snick got two hits: I am dark-haired and dark-eyed - Angband, almost everyone in the Philippines is! - but have I no chicken, rubber or real.
But I am thinking about that surf board. Thanks for the idea, Firefoot!
There goes your life savings.
Hush, Adam.
Anywhen, some of you I've already seen in photos, which is kind of bad for this exercise. So to those of you I haven't seen...I'm still fixing my KH-11 for that.
For the meantime, symestreem looks like Raven from Teen Titans. Especially with her weird references to a cloak and hood. Melts objects with her mind, or her stare, whichever suits her.
Perks...is Calvin. A young hyperactive savant with all evil ingenious plots waiting to explode from his mind. Hmmm...could you think of something for me?
Lady Snick is tall, dark-haired, with a bubbly personality, and love for blue smarties.
Evissë - still can't get over the dots - dances around with her golden hair and white dress flowing in the wind. Don't know why, though.
Kransha is, you guessed it, the Overmind of the Zerg. Although essentially an immobile organic computer, he controls his vast minions with his Shakespearean words and Cerebrates. Unfortunately, Tassadar destroyed him with a kamikaze carrier.
Meneltarmacil always has a stone to throw at me. Oh, and he used to be a rampaging firestorm.
Firefoot is as close to a thoroughbred equine as I can ever imagine, with her long flowing locks and her proud demeanour.
And Nilpaurion Felagund, who hasn't lookd in a mirror for over two months, thinks he's either the Voice of the Sacred Crane, or Charles Babbage's paramour. Seen copying both HerenIstarion and Turambar's sig.
Adam!!!

Estel, point taken; my image of you was horribly innacurate! I must also point out that, although I have never browsed the Downs with a mug of ale in hand, I have often talked Tolkien with ale (in more appropriate settings) so that image of yours definitely fits in well. :)
Feanor, a valiant effort, but you're almost completely wrong! :p I'll try and pin down your image as soon as I find out whether you're male or female. (The name suggests male, but I have a nagging suspicion, probably caused by Finwe who was, of course, female.)

Me? Wrong??? Wow... as often as it happens, I still never get used to it. ;) Like I said to mark, I chose my name based on translation, before I ever pulled out a copy of the Silmarillion, so that may or may not help with your gender issues. Mwahahahahaha. Actually, I'll just be nice and tell you: I am a girl, and the reference to Finwe made me laugh, since I referenced her myself when I laughingly told my boyfriend that a bunch of people on here think I'm a guy.
Humorously enough, Eomer, my image of you just changed.... in a very funny and quite obviously inaccurate way: You are now locked away in your local asylum, sitting in the corner in a straightjacket. Between laughing maniacally about how nobody knows how you look, you dictate to your security guard, who types everything you're saying. ;) "Now Biff, thou shalt type [mwahahahahahaha]... thou shalt type that... that... [mwahahahahahahahahaha]... that Feanor of the Peredhil knows the airspeed velocity of an unladen European Swallow! [mwahahahaha]."
I don't know where that image just came from, but it popped into my head while I was typing the first part of this post, and I thought it too funny to leave in my head, where I alone would see it.
Cheers,

Saucepan and Feanor, I very much like those two images, regardless of how innacurate they are (well, Feanor's isn't too bad actually!)
And now to dispel the myth of Feanor of the Peredhil once and for all....
She is generally small. She has dark, almost black, hair which looks like she cut it herself yet is still very cool in a 70s punk-rock kind of way. Her eyes zip around the room at all times and she has the most mischevous (sp?) smile of any Barrowdowner, made all the more haunting by her abnormally long fingers, which point at you as if to say "I will capture you and lock you in my dungeon forever!" She constantly curls herself up into a tight little ball and the ignorant observer will consider her just another nervous little girl, yet the potential to explode into a wave of dancing fury is mere seconds away. Plus, she speaks in broken sentences which only add to the mystique, though those who know her realise that she is just not that eloquent (sp?) and would instead prefer to run away at breakneck speed into a wide open field, and imagine playing with the scarecrows.
*apologies for the (probably) bad spelling, my dictionary is elsewhere and my brain isn't certain of its own capabilities*

Point? No, you're reading to much into it if you see a point. Only pay attention to the fact that you were right on my height...
Eomer: Now that I finally tracked down my description of you, I realize that if didn't give much of one. Hints as to what I got right would be very much appreciated so I can have another partially-educated go at it ;). And feel free to take another shot at me (well anyone can, not just Eomer :p)

That would be because I DID cut it myself about two weeks ago (and expanded on the cutting this afternoon).

True (my brother fully agrees, as will anyone who knows me).

I've not said that before, but I'll be sure to start... If only I had my own dungeon in which to lock people... Apart from what I just agreed with, I must say Eomer... you're just wrong, dude. :D Try again if you dare.

What about your location?Don't ask me, it's not my fault the zookeepers here all have extremely bad eyesight. :D
Meneltarmacil: Lets see: 5'11", 130-140 lbs. About 14-16, closer to the 16 than the 14. You just about niled that one, Estel. I am 5'9", 16 years old, and about 140 lbs. Black hair & sunglasses seem to fit my image of you pretty well.My hair is anything but black. In fact, it's actually quite blond, and about the same shade of blond as Legolas's.though I've got to admit I always thought of you as a girl until you said otherwise... Estel, I must admit you scared me when you said that. I think you're somewhat addicted to chocolate milk, though I can't say I don't envy you for that. Not really. I'm more addicted to much less healthy stuff. You really don't want to be around when I've had too many Gummy Bears ;) .
Meneltarmacil always has a stone to throw at me. Oh, and he used to be a rampaging firestorm *flings huge rock at Nilpaurion Felagund*

I always imagined most of the dudes around here look like Comic Book Guy, Professor Frink ... or the three college nerds from the Simpsons.
I know logically that's not hardly close, but I can't help it.
As for Feanor of the Peredhil ... I'm guessing ... blonde, skinny, and wears Orlando Bloom t-shirts to school. Probably talks a lot ... about LOTR at all times (and when not it's probably some other fantasy topic).

That's funny, Keeper. I actually do look like Professor Frink, despite the fact that I'm female. I've also taken to saying "Exelsior!" at odd intervals. The non-Downer friends I have all look like the three college nerds, so it's to be assumed that the friends I have over the Downs all look like that as well to some degree.
Feanor of the Peredhil

Orlando Bloom, Keeper? You make me sad. You fully just categorized me as an Orli-bopper and that I simply can't forgive immediately... Eomer was much closer to the truth, what with the at-home haircut and the dungeon comment. Even so, he's pretty far off the mark. ;)

I could post what Sleepy Ranger looks like, but that would take all the fun out of guessing or imagining for the rest of you. ;) I'm interested as to what most of you think I look like; rather difficult without an avatar to go off of, isn't it? :D (I am still mad that the evil smilie is no more; this is really getting on my nerves, and I'm sure my continued ranting is getting on all of yours as well.) :p
Evisse the Blue
07-03-2004, 02:09 AM
dances around with her golden hair and white dress flowing in the wind. Don't know why, though.Bwahahaha! Whatever gave you that impression of me, Nilpaurion??about the same as I imagine Fleur Delacour from the Harry Potter books, only less snooty by far. Evisse has a skintone that reflects blue light, oddly enough, so although she looks nothing like a smurf, she is most certainly bluish. Hey, that's partly true...I got a bluish tint...must come from the fact that I've been dead for more than two years... :D
I think that the Saucepan Man dresses in a suit and is very formal. Probably works in an office. He has dark hair and possibly glasses.
Nilpaurion Felagund is a typical rocker dude: complete with long hair and torn jeans. He never leaves home without his walkman.
Firefoot is the Hermione Granger of her class, she is very clever and pretty, although she tends to hide it with tomboyish clothes.
Sleepy Ranger is a computer geek. 'Nuff said. ;)
Guinevere is a lady, she's classy and dresses in a somewhat old fashioned but elegant manner.
Menetarmacil has a tatoo. Yes, I'm sure you do- it's pointless to try to hide this fact from us! :D
The Only Real Estel is the typical pretty boy. You break girls' hearts but confuse them by constantly using Matrix and Tolkien terminology to spice up the conversation.
Nilpaurion Felagund looks ...impish. He's very lively and has dark shining eyes that are a bit mischevious.
Nimrothiel is long-haired, tall, and has a dreamy expression.
Eomer, I imagine you as the lead singer from Travis. You sometimes have a crude sense of humour which scares your dates off.
and the phantom is, of course, a reincarnated god. And is probably a Leo...(I'll go check the calendar, see if I'm right).

Funny, I was just thinking that Lhunardawen must look (at least a bit) like Eowyn...well I'll retract my word then...Lhunardawen has brown hair and greenish eyes. She wears comfortable clothes but is quite trendy in her own way. She is about 168cm...that makes 5'7'' (?) I'm not really good at using that kind of measuring scales. Nah, she is still Eowyn in my opinion :p

So: Perky Ent looks ...impish. He's very lively and has dark shining eyes that are a bit mischevious.
So, Lhunardawen, Nilpaurion's your brother? Seriously? because I just got a mental picture of you as DeeDee. :D Sorry!
Sleepy Ranger
07-03-2004, 05:41 AM
Sleepy Ranger: Male, 5'8"-10", incredibly sleepy most of the time, but not to lazy actually. Loves quote games & has a knack for picking a good sig (bonus points if you listen to the artist you got the lyrics from ). Black hair, which you recently decided to begin partially growing out.
Lets see, heights wrong. I'll give you a clue. I was 5'7 when I was 12. Sleepy most of the time? Yes, Linkin Park is the best and if you'd look at the TT:Quote Game you'd see I've put in a lot of LP puns there.
Sleepy Ranger is a computer geek. 'Nuff said.
Evisse, have we met before?
I could post what Sleepy Ranger looks like,
Well I already forgot what you look like. I must be the most forgetful person since well since me. Surprisingly people are gettng close to getting my hair right and if they'd look back a few pages I actually gave away what it looks like
But I've changed my hair now so guess you can keep guessing.
Firefoot
07-03-2004, 06:08 AM
Firefoot is as close to a thoroughbred equine as I can ever imagine, with her long flowing locks and her proud demeanour. Hmm, not really.Firefoot is the Hermione Granger of her class, she is very clever and pretty, although she tends to hide it with tomboyish clothes. This is definitely the closest so far.
Nimrothiel: You look somewhat Elvish. You have a pretty face and long blonde hair. You are 5'8" give or take two inches.
Dancing Spawn of Ungoliant: You have waist length black hair and dark eyes. You are graceful, and at about 5'6" you have long legs. It seems like you should either be in dance or gymnastics.
Eomer of the Rohirrim

Ok, several people to attend to so bear with me (those concerned of course, if you couldn't care less about me then feel free to skip ahead!).
Estel, you may have another shot at me. The things you got right were as follows; brown hair (though you did say "or blonde" so you shouldn't really get that much credit!) blue eyes and near enough 5'10 (actually, I'm 6'0)
I will give another description of you in my next post, so watch out!
Feanor, I stand by my description of you. I think you are side-stepping so as not to reveal your true identity (and I think you do have a dungeon).
Evisse, 'crude sense of humour'? Moi? Is this because of that thing I posted on the "I hope this is a joke" thread? Ach! If only I could prove otherwise....and I look nothing like Fran Healy (thankfully). Where on earth did you get that idea from!
Saraphim, by far the closest yet. Although there's a crucial element which is wrong. I know this will be hard to take but, as I already pointed out, I do not have blonde hair! It would be awesome but nevermind. Anyway, Faramir's hair was just as cool as Eomer's.
And Saraphim, without actually pinning me down, is way out in front in the race. Congratulations! :D

*Nimrothiel is long-haired, tall, and has a dreamy expression.*
*Nimrothiel: You look somewhat Elvish. You have a pretty face and long blonde hair. You are 5'8" give or take two inches.*
Wow, very close on my height Firefoot; I'm actually 5'10''. My hair is actually just a couple inches past my shoulders. The slightly Elvish description is also fairly accurate, but I'm afraid the hair color is way off. (Actually, I dye my hair, but my original hair color is at the other end of the spectrum.) I wish the pretty face remark was true, but I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Evisse the Blue, how did you know I was a day-dreamer? Here are my images of some of you:
The Saucepan Man: Will always look like his avatar to me.
Evisse the Blue: Average height, blue eyes (well, you gave that one away), and long blonde hair. You don't happen to own a white dress do you; because if you do Nilpaurion's description of you will forever be how I imagine you to appear.
Firefoot: Short to average height (now that's a stretch), with green eyes that hold a mischievious light.
The Phantom: I can't picture him as anything but his avatar, which is really freaky. I mean, can you imagine him walking down the street in broad daylight? Now imagine that at night. *mock shudder* Seriously, I love your avatar. (Hmmm, toned abs and a nice butt...oh, there I go day-dreaming again.) :p

The Only Real Estel is the typical pretty boy. You break girls' hearts but confuse them by constantly using Matrix and Tolkien terminology to spice up the conversation.
*laughs* Oh I can just imagine it...handing her a dozen roses & then saying "There is no rose"
p.s. I just realized you put me in the same catagory as Orlando Bloom. Now I have to be mad at you :p.
though you did say "or blonde" so you shouldn't really get that much credit
In truth, guessing two colors on one guess was not totally in keeping of the description game, but all the experts agreed that once Eomer had confirmed one of Estel's guesses, Eomer had (knowingly or unknowingly) made the guess legal, whether it was legal in the first place or not (a bit confusing, but it works :p).
Eomer: Hmm, so you have brown hair, blue eyes & you're 6'0". I'm sure I could look back through here & find your age, but I'm not about to, so I'll just take another guess: 16-19? You probably play some sports &...wait a second-there's not much else to describe, is there?

Stand by it all you want, Eomer, but I'll tell you again: parts of the physical description are accurate, most of the mental description is off. Close, but no cigar. :D However, you hold your image as tight as you can (don't let any of my hints as to my true appearance change it), because this is far more fun than if I actually knew what you look like. You stick with the 70s punk rocker (I like that description anyhow, and it's not that far off), and I'll stick with the straightjacket and dictation to Biff.

The Only Real Estel -

Did you really not look at my profile to answer that one? :D I am astounded, if you didn't peek.

I strike most people online I do not speak to personally as such.
5'10" or 5'11"… And if you are female...about 5'6"-5'8"
Very good! About 5’9”.
black hair, black/grey eyes, dressing in as much black as you can
Dirty-blonde hair, green eyes, and I like black, but not normally all black. No, I am not a Hot Topic shopper, to those of you who know that this is a clothing store. :D
You seem to be a relative of The Phantom, or at least he has a lot of similarities to him.

Well...gone for a day or so, and this thing explodes. Heh.
Jandalf always seemed like she should have short, bouncy red hair, and have a lot of energy.
I don't really know how I picture Audreidi, but she always has dark hair in my mind. I don't know exactly how that works, but ya know..... strange things happen in my mind. *shrugs*
Well, considering that Jandalf and I are identical twins...Jandalf generally has a lot of energy when she's around other people, but when she's on her own she gets very lethargic. That applies to both of us, really. We both have dark hair--some strands are curly and almost black, and some are poker-straight and light brown. Mix of Mom and Dad...and it causes a lot of frizz...sigh. Anyone else care to take a stab in the dark as to the details of this newb's appearance? Some people can really guess, I see...intuition and all that, what? :p

Wow, Firefoot you got quite close! I am indeed 5'6'' (and 1 cm) and one could say that I have fairly long legs. My name might have misguided you to think that I'm some kind of a sport girl...well, I like dancing and different sport games but I give more interest rather to music. I'd like to have waist lenght black hair but that isn't quite my real look.
Firefoot has very slightly curly brown hair that gets really curly on moist weather. She is sweet and girlish but seldom wears skirts or black clothes.

*coughs, spews coffee all over the computer moniter* Hey, why was I even drinking COFFEE, I HATE coffee!... anyhow... I am hysterical over your guesses of what I look like... SERIOUSLY... and that's not good at the moment, concitering the fact that my hands are all shaky, and I don't feel so great... I really am thinking of linking a picture just so you all can see how misled you are... maybe I'll change my avater for a while. Firstly, to whomever invisioned me as athletic, you are VERY wrong. I am the least athletic girl you will ever see, and my name, to discribe me, should more be Jaina Gamgee... noooo... Marigold Solo, maybe. I look very hobbitiesh, in my opinion, being short (5"2), and slightly overwheight, not to mention the cape that must be glued to me... I always wear it. My hair is not short, nor streaked, it's long, gold-brown, without any trace of dyes... I dyed it once, and that was enough. I look like I should've lived in Middle-earth. Whoever said that I wore a lightsaber... that was close, I do often enough. Also the comment on having a lightsaber, or toy sword and not afraid to use it... that's me as well. I also sometimes wear a tiara to add to the Eowyn look. I look SOMEWHAT like my present avatar, but nothing like any of you think I look like... that's it, I'm making a new avatar! I need to fix these miscomprehentions!!! Does my name really make you think sports girl?!?!?!?!?!?! Oh well... I like the lightsaber-pack'n image of myself though...
Now, my thoughts on what everyone looks like...
Audreidi *I KNOW I'm met you... this is what I thought you looked like beforehand*: Tall, with dark brown eyes that flashed almost gold in the right light, slightly elven, with long dark brown hair like Arwen's, sorta.
Mithalwen *off on a guess to the avatarless*: A mid range height, with silvery grey eyes, a more human appearance, with delicate features.
MadBaggins: Short, like me, but with chopped off brown hair that falls just above her shoulders, to accent her brown eyes. Her hair is slightly curly, and she's full of energy, being bouncy, and cheerful most of the time.
And that's my thoughts.
Must go chat with Jandalf now, she's ONLINE!!!
May the Force be with you all!!

Eowyn Skywalker, now I can't have a fully made-up image of you! Thanks a lot! ;)
Okay...your eyes are hazel and you have a little, rounded nose. You are also a bundle of energy and your sense of humour is crazy. Whenever someone says something you don't like, you smack them with your lightsaber. You're pretty outgoing and you smile a lot.

Okay, Mad Baggins, some of what you say is correct... I DO smile a LOT... there's almost never a time when there's NOT a smile on my face, and I do have a wacko sense of humor... if you've read any of my spoof, you should know. I thwack people all the time. I don't know about the nose... and my eyes are actually dark brown, but overall, that's not a bad guess! I really AM going to change my avatar now... for a while, anyhow. Just to prove what I look like.
Okay... lesse...
Firefoot: She is a mid height girl, with bright hazel eyes, and a nearly gold brown hair that comes past her shoulders. She can appear serious, but underneath that mask, she's actually quite a goofy person.

Mad Baggins: you said that you would analyze the appearance of anyone who attempted yours, so here goes:
My original concept of Mad Baggins was a 30-something year old male, with a penchant for magic tricks, hence the name "Mad Baggins" who, as we all know, goes around disappearing. However, I then read some of your posts. Mad Baggins is a 15ish year old girl, with dark brown (auburny) hair, that falls loosely just past her shoulders. She is about 5'5", and slender, although not "skinny" persay. She sees a lot of details that most other people don't notice, or do, but take for granted. She's always drinking some sort of caffienated beverage, and if she is asked to turn out her pockets, there will usually be a lighter (you don't strike me as a matchgirl, if you'll excuse the pun), some loose change, and some low-powered explosives (firecrackers, anyone?).
There you go, try me.
Eomer: No worries on the insanity. If you want, we can lock you and Keeper (for categorizing me as an Orli-bopper) up in my imaginary dungeon to scare the tourists. ;)

All right...
Feanor of the Peredhil: I see you as a slightly taller character, who usually wears black pants, but wouldn't wear a black shirt... you proabaly also wear sunglasses. You like to look things through, and are quite interested in what other people think of you, whether spelling, or so on. Your eyes are blue, and your hair is a silvery blond.

Slightly taller... hehe. I spent most of my childhood wishing I was tall... I finally figured out that 5'3" (and a half) is the perfect height for me. I do happen to own quite an excellent pair of black pants, but sadly I haven't worn them in quite awhile because its been so dratted HOT out... and black pants get so dirty, you know? ;) I've certainly been known to rock the all-black look, but not often. I had a most wonderful pair of sunglasses... lost them. Still need to get a new pair, since my eyes are light-sensitive and the sun hurts me. :( You're definately right about my interest in other peoples perceptions of me. I like to know what people think, even if it won't change how I think of myself. (If you can't tell, I've got a lot of self-confidence... I've been called arrogant, but I just like who I am.) Saraphim is a 21 years old girl with short red hair, which reach down to her blue eyes. She has some freckles around her nose and cheeks. She is tall and slender and she spends her time either reading or jogging. She is a vegetarian but every now and then, on some special occasion, she enjoys a big greasy steak. Saraphim is very sharp but she doesn't brag with it and she is always there to help his friends whatever the problem was.
Mad Baggins is a little over 30 years old but his inner child runs freely which can be seen from his many practical jokes he performs to his co-workers. At work, if he is not planning his next prank, he is surfing the "1001 ways to fool your friend" page on the net. in spite of this he is a competent worker and somehow always manages to do his tasks in time and has thus avoided getting fired. He is about 178cm tall and well-proportioned. He has short brown/black hair with a tendency to be a bit curly. He has reading-classes but he rarely uses them since he is a bit forgetful.

I know I havn't really been around alot, so I don't really know any of you that well, which is a shame because you're all such interesting people. :)
Ok here goes nothing;
Sleepy Ranger- You are just that, sleepy even when you try and stay awake it cannot be helped that you nod off from time to time. Your dark hair is chin or shoulder length and slightly wavy, you often use it to shield your light blue eyes from the sun when you want to take a nap and fall asleep before you can make it to the shade of a tree. You are a fair height not too tall, and you are thin but not skinny like a wraith.
Meneltarmacil- So you say you don't have dark hair? Very well, blonde, hhmmm perhaps dark blue or hazel eyes. 5'9" with a smooth complection. Thats all I can really see I'm not very good at this imagining what a person looks like, but I'd like to hear what anyone thinks I look like ;)

I think I've got the real Fordim down, beyond the avatar. Here goes:
He's a reasonably tall fellow: at least 5'10". He has close-cropped brown hair, slightly gray on the sides. He is extremely thick, and most of it besides his belly is muscle. His skin is a deep chestnut brown, and he has thick, hairy arms the size of small tree trunks. When he laughs (which he is wont to do with abnormal frequency), his face turns beet red and the veins in his neck bulge. Despite his massive build, he has a very scholarly air when he wants to; he may wear glasses (but probably doesn't, except for reading), and always dresses like a friendly professor: slacks and hiking boots or loafers, a collared tee shirt with pens in the breast pocket, and a gold (-colored) watch. He can take command of a discussion with a deep, resonating voice, and sometimes becomes extremely animated and intense during conversations or arguments (regardless of their topic), without knowing it. He is usually calm and jovial, though, and always looking for a new topic to discuss or book to read.

Firefoot, please don't take after Nilpaurion: my name has no dots. Or are you doing it on purpose? aaaagh! there's a conspiracy against me - they imagine me like a Veela and put Elvish dots on my name. Alright: sadly I'll dispel this myth and say I have black eyes, my hair is red though... when I dye it. Also I wear lots of eyeliner and listen to Nightwish, so no prancing around in white dresses for me! :p
Mithalwen you have long dark hair and glasses, which give you a scholarly stern look. In fact you are a gentle person who loves kids and animals (maybe you have a few pets). You are a great cook.
Son of Numenor you are tall and lanky, with blonde hair and a fair complexion. You have a tendency to blush easily. You are a bookworm (like that wasn't obvious at all :p ) and you avoid playing sports.

Well I never thought I'd ever be imagined as plump. Its my name isn't it? It makes me look fat! But you have gotten a few things right, I do have brown eyes, I will say naught of the kind of character they display (not that you are entirely wrong its just that they havn't been known to show that emotion very much, or so I've been told; of course I'll leave that to your discretion). I love to read, and am more than willing to help people. Keep on guessing, your image of me is rather interesting if not amusing. :D
Firefoot, purely because of your name I could easily imagine you with red hair. I'll stray from that and have a bit more fun, I'll say black hair with red streaks (or perhaps a head of deep golden tresses) in it that is well below your shoulders but doesn't pass your hips. Your eyes have a fieryness to them, which is a true sign of a wild spirit, but you know when to remain calm, cool and collected. That smile of yours can be seen a mile off glinting in the sun, causing people to drive into the ditch.
Note*: I often have very romanticized images of my fellow BDer's, and usually see them as wearing some LOR-esque garb of some sort, I would have described Sleepy Ranger or Meneltarmacil in much more detail but didn't want to get carried away as is my tendency, now I'll digress before I become too long winded about my tendencies.

SoN -- Hmm, according to your description of me, I sound like the love child of Beorn and a wandering hobbit lass. I've been called worse.
You also stated, however:
he may wear glasses (but probably doesn't, except for reading), and always dresses like a friendly professor: slacks and hiking boots or loafers, a collared tee shirt with pens in the breast pocket, and a gold (-colored) watch.
Now, I am not given to vanity, but this is not the first post in this thread that has me portrayed as an academic fashion-disaster -- so to clear this up. . .
I do wear glasses, reading or no, but they are funky, German-retro inspired affairs with thin wire, purple frames; they are roughly rectangular.
I never wear "slacks" or "loafers" or tweed or collared tees, and I do not have pens in my pocket. I don't wear a watch. I wear jeans (Loose or Comfortable fit Levis or *horrors* Gap). I wear tee-shirts or, during the winter, long sleeve sporty shirts (pullovers, no collars). My feet are almost always clad in Adidas gazelles -- either my beloved black gazelles or, sometimes, the red. I also have a well-worn pair of Doc Marten's that I have loved almost to death. I do wear hiking boots, when I'm hiking.
My hair is black and I wear it long -- yes, I'm an Elf of the Noldor. Well, not quite, I used to wear it long but recently it has come back a bit and is only shoulder length. I am not tall, sadly, coming in around 175 cm on a good day.
So there! Harumph!
By the way, you Son of Numenor are of average height and build. You have brown hair and may wear a neatly-trimmed beard (but I don't think so). You need glasses but refuse to get any. You are square-jawed and very handsome. Your eyes are dark. You have hairy knuckles (sorry).

Son of Númenor

Sorry, Fordim: apparently I was better off imagining you as Indy.
Evisse the Blue: You look a lot like Janeane Garofalo, only younger and perkier. You have deep brown eyes and a thoughtful look. You are short, and your medium-length, straight, dark brown hair is usually in a ponytail. You wear classy Tommy Hilfiger classes, with somewhat thick black frames. Your smile is a thing of beauty, if only because you display it so infrequently. You like to hang around coffee parlours and listen to poetry readings. (If you've described yourself before and I'm way off, please forgive me: I haven't read through the whole thread.)
As for me: I am 5'7" and about 240 lbs. I have a pretty rotund belly and a hairy chest. My nose is big and round and my eyes squinty, (I'm told) shifty, dark and olive-colored. I wear thin glasses with a French wire frame, and my hair is grayish black and shaggy. I have a Van Dyke that I shave infrequently. I usually wear sweatpants and my "Frankie Says Relax" t-shirt around the house. When I go out, I like to wear baggy jeans and my trusty leather jacket. For formal events I have a stylish trenchcoat that I picked up from an illegal vendor in Napoli, for €5. I chain-smoke and tend to stay up all night, every night with my nose in a book. I don't exercise, but make up for it by eating a lot. I've had braces for four years and will have them for at least one more. When I smile, people tell me my nostrils flare and I look rather villanous.
Agent Evenstar
07-05-2004, 09:18 PM
Agent Evenstar: A tall girl, with dark eyes set in her face, that make her seem as if she's always watching you. More serious in real-life then she is on the net, her hair is darker, and she wears blue nailpolish.
Wow, someone actually tried to describe me! And it would be you *smiles*. Hmmm I am tall, but my eyes are blue and not very dark at all, not to mention horribly nearsighted! I do watch people though. People watching is one of my favorite things to do when I am bored and alone. I don't stare, though, so don't be afraid! Yes, I am MUCH more serious in real life than on the internet, where all my weird humor and insanity comes to life, as you have noticed! My hair isn't that dark, actually. Blue nailplish sounds cool, though, but I hate taking the stuff off so I hardly put any on! I should try it sometime...
Eowyn Skywalker : I pretty much had you pictured how you are in your avvy! The long blondeish hair, not being very tall... Just stuff that I have gathered while talking with you elsewhere. The lightsaber was a given! Couldn't picture you without one...
Jandalf and Audreidi : I know you two are twins, so you probably look alike (just slightly!), but in my mind you aren't! So, here is what I think of you two, regardless of your twinness. I think Jandalf has long reddish brown hair with green eyes and is quite tall. Audie, I picture you with darker hair, maybe even black, and dark eyes. You are probably tall, too, like Jandalf. Yeah, that's what I THINK, I know I am probably not right...

Mithrellas, your name implys you as an elf... I just see you as a human, rather then an elf. Names imply a lot... like my name gives me a lightsaber!
Agent Evenstar... yeah, well, I've been trying to imagine you for a while, seeing as I've known you online for a while... am suddenly wondering if you aren't a certain girl I know in real life... too much of you makes me think of her... save that you aren't as evil! And wow, you actually sorta seen me as I am... not that I don't mind the other discriptions... I wish I was taller, and athletic, but was never cut out to be so, sigh. Feel privliged, you know what I look like... hee hee. Note that I am wearing a cape in that picture... *giggles evily* Must.. make... lightsaber. I don't wear nail polish either, by the way.
Maeggaladiel: I see you as being not too tall, with hazel eyes, and longer hair, but not quite as long as a typical elf's hair. You don't wear dresses, but tend to wear clothes that won't get ruined when you run into things, because you've dropped your purple wire rimmed glasses... again.
Lhundewen: You have mid back blond hair, nearly white, like moonlight, and light blue eyes. You tend to wear lighter colored clothing, and wear glasses that look futuristic, without any visible rims. You are also fairly slender.
Son of Numenor: Looks like Aragorn, at his cornation, but has lighter hair, and brown eyes. He is also a bit shorter than Aragorn is, as well.
ArwenBaggins: AB is tall, with shoulder cut brown hair, with red streaks in it. She tends to be firey, and her brown eyes flash a lot. Never one to be seen without the One Ring, she likes a fantasy base to herself, and keeps it that way.
I will not post my mods discriptions... they'd probably kill me... giggle.

Hair and glasses wrong I am afraid Evisse.... but I am a pretty good cook I do admit.... As for the rest ....well a lot gentler than I seem on the surface sometimes...... hmm kids and animals.....some yes......but not universally... I have only pet fish these days because I can't commit to a cat and I don't believe in keeping animals in situations where they cannot express their natural behaviour - which rules out most things and I am terrified of birds, apart from birds of prey. I am a bit of a contradictory personality!! Similarly with children - they often adore me, and I keep on hearing this wretched ticking noise.......but at other timesI think I have been possessed by the ghost of the late Princess Margaret "Go away you silly child, can't you see I am trying to read?"

Thorongil ... I'd go with ... sandy blonde hair which you don't comb. It's messy. You're not overly tall or short ... probably wear polo shirts.
Meneltarmacil rocks glasses ... wire-frame maybe ... I'm not sure of that ... but it seems likely. He's probably got a square build ...
Feanor ... I take back the Orly-Bopper statement. After all, I believe that you're 5' 4"-ish, have dark brown hair which isn't especially long or short, have brown eyes and are waaaaaaaaaaaay too enthusiastic about education. You like art ... and appreciate people who do better on a whim than your own good stuff. You're president of your class, a National Honor Society member, and are a workaholic.
Did I hit close?
But then, Feanor ... you're description of me WAY back couldn't be further from the truth. It seemed sort of gothy and brooding. I don't brood that much. But my Lit teacher told me I remind him of a male Emily Dickinson ... I bet she didn't watch as much TV as I do.

I'm very flattered that you see me as my Evendim Hills character. Sadly that couldn't be further from reality, I don't have the black hair flecked with silver (though I'm sure a dye job could do the trick) and I don't have the lovely crystal grey eyes either. I am tall, standing around 6' 1/2" with a thin build. My hair is long and my eyes are brown, the thing that has yet to be guessed correctly is my hair colour.
I must admit I do have somewhat of a darker side but not nearly as severe as the Dark Queen.

Ok, the only ones that I have a real definate picture of, are
Meneltarmicil: All I picture is a person with long black hair playing with dangerous chemicals (no offense, really).
Sleepy Ranger: I picture him as a dark-haired and eyed tall person, with dark circles under his eyes no matter how much sleep he gets. He has a tendency to fall asleep wherever and his friends always make non-offensive jokes about it.
Firefoot: She is a very, very, dirty blonde, almost brown, with natural highlights. She has dark, mischevious, eyes that never seem to lack a certain firey look to them. She has a smile on almost always, but never seems to be optomistic (no offense).

As for you, you are about 5'3 and have extremely long red hair, way down to your knees. You wear red spandex and have incredibly white teeth.

No, I didn't peek at your profile, if I'd have done that it wouldn't be how I imagine you because it'd include information that I wouldn't otherwise have imagined :p. Actually, I'm rather suprised I was right as well (now that I have checked your profile ;))!
No, I am not a Hot Topic shopper, to those of you who know that this is a clothing store.
Yep, I know the store well, I roll my eyes everytime I walk past it in our mall...
The Phantom should be deeply offended right now. Beware his wrath.

Glad to see I guessed you so well, I don't usually even put a lot of thought into my guesses, just how I've imagined the person since I first saw a post of theirs.

Aylwen Dreamsong
07-07-2004, 07:18 PM
This is a bit random, but does anyone else always get a first impression of other BDers in which they are invariably taller than you?
Everyone is taller than I am anyway. Thinking such is inevitable.
In any case…I never actually think what other Barrow Downers really look like. Being that I primarily post as a RPGer, most of my mental images for other members come from their characters, because that is how I know them best.
Fordim Hedgethistle will always be the dashing, handsome young Hearpwine, capturing everyone’s attention with his charm and talent.
When I think of Aman I think of Fionel…and though I know Aman is female I also think of Kane, especially. I recall Fionel for her bravery and outstanding leadership, and Kane if only for his intelligence and quick thinking. They were both memorable characters.
As for Nuru, I will always think of Liornung as far as personality. I can see Nurumaiel being musical and light-hearted, wise in the ways of the heart, warm, and kindly.
There are so many others…but when I think of them, all I think of their RPG characters for some odd reason.
Very good, Fordim! You got the short part right, and I am not the least bit offended, honest. The only incorrect part, actually, is the eye color. You did a very good job. :D
Nuru, I smiled the entire time while reading this. :)
Aylwen: lady Bella.
I would say that I put a couple of my own traits into Bella, but inspiration came from a good friend of mine. I am not so pale as Bella, nor to I have her raven curls. I would also say that Bella has some of my personality traits, but we are still very different.
All in all, however, this was most definitely an interesting thread to read through.

and have extremely long red hair, way down to your knees.
OK, something I have to set straight. My hair is not red or violet. Nor is it orange, yellow, green, blue, or indigo!
Anyway, I don't have mental images of very many of the Downers. I picture Finwe as about 5'8", with short, dark hair cut to about her chin, and dark eyes. She looks like she enjoys sports.
Nirvana is tall and blonde, with blue eyes. He likes to look cool and bored.

Alrighty ...
Firefoot , yeah I'm just about 6 feet tall. And I have these thick rimmed glasses ... dark in color (which I hardly ever wear). But as for sandy brown and dark eyes ... nope, nada. I'm a bright-eyes kinda guy.
Feanor ... wrong wrong wrong.
Keeper is a Californian surf-dude, who uses terms like "knarly", "like, whoa", and "freaky" on a regular basis. He listens to country music (and the Beach Boys, of course), and never answers the phone.
I HATE surfer-dudes. HATE country music. HATE the Beach Boys. HATE tans. HATE the sun. Can't even swim.
I do like ridiculous surfer-talk (thank you so much TMNT), and hate phones though.
Thorongil, dude ... thank god you'd never wear a polo shirt. Haha ... I went really generic. Oh and the blonde thing certainly is a stereotype, although clearly not an accurate one. We all know vikings had anything from deep brown to red hair. (Well ... I know that, 'we all' might not). I myself stick to the black turtlenecks and metal t-shirts.
I have to rock the skinniness, after all. And man am I skinny.

Sirithheruwen
07-09-2004, 09:03 AM
Sirithheruwen has dark, dark hair, nearly black, and while her eyes are grey there is a flicker of blue in them for the keen observer to perceive. She is tall, slender, and very Elvish looking. If she does not let her waist-length hair fall loose she has tied it back in a neat braid or perhaps put it atop her head in a very charming fashion.
*weeps with joy* That's it, I can't say anything about what I look like now - I just can't ruin this beautiful image of me! The eyes are the closest thing, but some of the rest isn't too far off!
Saraphim: (If I've done you already, then me image has changed.) YOu, my dear, have long white/silver hair that hangs down to your waist. You always, however, wear it in a smooth pony tail. Your skin is very pale, and your eyes are a deep indigo, almost black-looking. YOu wear a lot of baggy black clothing, including a long black wool coat reaching to your ankles. It almost (but not quite) hides a pair of boots not unlike Aragorn's. (I *do* realize how far away this must be from what you really look like.)

DSoU: I love you! But no, I don't look like Eowyn. I have eyes so brown they are almost black, but I would love to have green eyes. And I'm merely a little over 5 feet tall. Great description, though. I could wish I looked like that. :)
Eowyn Skywalker: Was that supposed to be me? If so, you gave the closest description yet! Not blue eyes though. And I'm not blonde, my hair's color is like my eyes'. And the glasses are definitely there, being a nearsighted Halfelf, though not futuristic-looking (I think). Funny, but I pictured you looking like Eowyn. By the way, I could have used your name myself.
SoN: I thought you were tall, dark hair and eyes, quite the nerdy type.
HerenIstarion: Ditto.
mark12_30: Blonde hair, blue eyes, very motherly, and has an infectious laugh. But I don't think these descriptions can apply to Mister Underhill. :D

Saraphim
07-10-2004, 08:59 PM
Whew. How the threads do grow after a few days on holiday.
Saraphim is a 21 years old girl with short red hair, which reach down to her blue eyes.
(I *do* realize how far away this must be from what you really look like.) Tee Hee :D
But both have some close points.
I've got dark brown hair that only comes to my shoulders because I'm growing it out from a fit of the scissors. This is not nearly as exciting as what you two have dreamed up, but I do indeed pull it back as much as I can.
I'm not very pale; sort of a light olive complexion. I do have freckles, though. My eyes are like my hair, dark brown, and what with my involvment with the Nearsighted Elves Society, framed by exeedingly thick spectacles.
I am tall and rather thin, mostly because I do indeed jog (when I'm not reading, that is) and I'm not so much a vegetarian as a health-food nut, so I'm sorry to say that steak would become a grilled chicken in the amount of time it took the elves to decide that orcs were unfriendly.
As for my wardrobe, Sirithheruwen has it mostly pinned down. Se my post earlier, the first or second page, for more about that. But change the long black coat into a white one and you've got me.
And Nil, your witty little vowel switch had me snickering and giggling for a while. :D I never thought to re-translate 'seraphim' after I switched the vowels myself. It has sort of the opposite affect, doesn't it?
And Thorongil, you now look like Cloud to me, but a Cloud that prefers to spend time at the computer or library.
Esgallhugwen

Imladris
I think that Esgallhugwen has red hair. Even though it is a bit sad that she didn't look more like the Dark Queen
*ding ding ding* And Imladris gets it right! My hair is auburn, but since everyone just calls it red, I suppose its red. I agree that it is sad that I don't look more like the Dark Queen, boy would that be fun!! Mwahahaa :D
So lets see with everyones deductive reasoning I think you've practically pinned me down as to what I look like, though I kind of gave away my height, but thats a minor detail.
Long red hair (thats slightly wavy, and just barely touches my derriere), brown eyes that carry a certain wistfulness at times, though can be kind. I'm thin and stand at 6' 1/2". I love to read and help others when I can.
Elennar Starfire your image of me is that of a doll, I didn't think my personality really fitted the button nosed type, or the dimples for that matter. But thank you none the less. Let me see, you have hazel eyes and dark hair thats just below your shoulders, your probably average height or so, and you like to wear the colour blue.

Eowyn Skywalker, I read your description of me. Short? Not even close. Hazel eyes? Nope. Long hair? A few years ago, yes. Now, no. Purple glasses? Nooooo... You were right about the clothes, though.
I've always thought of Eowyn Skywalker as a blonde. Obviously I was wrong.
Pio I've seen in my mind's eye as a tall woman with long, wavy blonde hair and green eyes. She's thin but strong. I can see her wearing either a purple dress or a red shirt and brown pants. I don't know why.
Saraphim is obviously platinum blonde with large Japanese-anime eyes, just like her evil clone Sephiroth.
I've thought of Forim as having short brown hair. Not much else comes to mind about Forim.
For some reason, I think Cami (Child) has short, straight red hair.

Oh my. Oh my, indeed. Estel... that is... so accurate that I'm slightly scared. I go fishing at least every other weekend with my da and eldest brother, and for the most part, we don't catch much, but the point is to get away from everything for awhile and hang out on the water. I don't drink much soda, preferring home-brewed iced tea and that sort of thing, but, as you said, occasionally. I occasionally play sports because I only occasionally come across one I'm inclined to play (various forms of hockey, pick-up games of soccer, 3-on-3 no-rules basketball games). I will NEVER refuse pizza, and if I did, there would be something seriously wrong, especially if the pizza is pepperoni, onion, mushroom, and extra sauce. I do spend a lot of time on here, but the rest of my time is split between friends, family, work, and my art (which happily enough is part of my work). You are... good.

My version of Mister Underhill is that of a tall gentleman with a dragon-headed walking stick. He never fails to hold the door for passing ladies and NEVER uses vulgar language. He dresses sharply in dark grey suits with matching top hats. Hovering permanently over his face is one of those TV-bleep-out fuzz boxes.

Nah, I'm not too much of a stalker. I mean your name, Eowyn Skywalker. I love Eowyn, and Star Wars too. :)
Maeggaladiel I see as Liv Tyler with glasses. Wait, I think that's her avatar. :D

Saucepan Man, Bombadil and The Perky Ent I always imagined to be really happy people with great sense of humors and always laughing.

Thanks for the link; that song was awesome. I know I haven't forgotten, I was in Biology when the teacher turned on the news. I was in Religion class when the second tower was hit, and it was just after lunch when I heard about the Pentagon and the plane in Pennsylvania. One of my classmates had an aunt who was staying in New York at the time; it was the first time I'd seen him cry. I was enraged and stayed that way for the rest of the day. If I were old enough I would have volunteered for the army. I'm getting ****ed off just thinking about it. Some of those pictures...how could you not feel sympathy for those families? :( I better stop typing before I take up a whole page with text. No offense to anyone who likes his work, but Michael Moore is a total moron.

Has Michael Moore joined the Barrow Downs? I didn't think so.
Anyhow, I never pay attention to avatars when I think about BDers. I listen to the voice in their writing. Estylen has just that sunshiny tone which makes me think she is, well, sewing quilts or something. Kuruharan must have a perpetual grin from ear to ear listening for absurd adverts. And davem? Him I see in knee-high gumboots (wellies on his side of the pond) chasing over the Yorkshire moors to get oral stories from Yorkshire's past, puffing regularly on a pipe, his long hair flowing in his haste.
I wish I had Diamond' wit and silliness. Her post way back at the beginning strikes me as the perfect response. The more off she was, the truer she was to the mark set by Fordim I think for this thread.
And burrahobbit is a cuddly koala bear. Not. But I bet he too has a perpetual grin on his face.

Ooohh, how do I creep you out Elennar Starfire, did I pin you down? Or was my description of you too fantastical?
Thank you Imladris for the humbling comment of liking my red hair! :D

Nirvana 2: 5'10", male, long black hair, which is always flying around as he head-bangs to his drums. Usually dresses in a punk-ish style, lots of black, chains on his jeans (which are usually JNCO), that sort of stuff. Drinks some coffee, but mostly loads up on energy drinks like SoBe (not that he needs them) & the occasional pop/soda. Is casually considering having an earring put in his left ear...
5'10".....try 6'8"...i drink sobe...and i wear ecko jeans...and i wear pumas..and play bass guitar...not long black hair
