There goes the fond image of a 20-something year old guy
I don't know wether he/she really is he/she, you know, but this (http://forum.barrowdowns.com/member.php?userid=4375) kind of ruins the age issue ;)

Karl Urban in a kilt? Didn't Saucepan Man say that on page 5? :p

As for the mystery of Inktomi Slurp Spider, I guess you guys just aren't that interested, huh? Either that or you can't read between the lines...

Eomer of the Rohirrim is a devilishly handsome young man of tall and lanky stature. His mesmerising blue eyes, longish dark hair and inviting smile have caused an alarmingly huge fan following. He has a vivid imagination and an outlandish conception of life, the universe and everything.

He does get slightly embarrassed when something he posts upsets the mods.

However, he also likes to point out when other people's guesses were way off.

Am I anywhere close, Eomer? :p

PS: You're still wearing a kilt.

I see the phantom as a moderately-tall (6') 20-something, tow-headed, with roguish hazel eyes and freckles. He's rather inconspicuous, actually, but his pent-up mischief simmers just below the surface. He has a turn for witty comments and finds a lot of entertainment in maintaining a pseudo-preternatural mystique.

Quite acurate phantom and Thinlomien. I'm not quite over the hill yet (eventhough it feels like I'm already tumbling down and sorry no beard). But, everything else is pretty much right. Yes phantom I do find that difficult on which to choose sometimes (I'd say football wins most of the time).

Child of the Seventh Age and Bethberry- For some inexplicable reason, I see them as the same person- this lady that used to work with me at Kohl's department store.
Same here, except for some reason Child has light colored hair and Bethberry has darker, and there was going to be a Kohl's, but alas, "it's too expensive" to build one here. I hate living in a small town....

Thinlómien: YOU'RE ALL WRONG! He or she is in fact a racoon, and only has an avatar of one to throw all of us off. :D ;)

I imagine Bethberry hopping onto one of Gandalf_theGrey's smoke-ships and sailing it around the room-- although I remember vaguely that somebody ELSE did that. Still, I got confused, and associated that with Bethberry.

I miss the old codger. Wish he'd come back.

Poor Helen. I can tell you really wanted to be the one who discovered the mystery of the Spider. Perhaps the reason I imagine you with a detective's hat and large brown overcoat. ;)

wilwarin538 , another Mirkwoodian rabbit lover. You look like a butterfly and spend most of your time in gardens, smelling flowers. You flit around and don't take things too seriously. You love sweets and only drink purified nectar. You spend most of your time in the twilight reading Wuthering Heights and LotR.

I have no idea why...

Well....uhm....thats very imaginative. ;) But also very wrong. Well most of it atleast. I do like sweets, I dont take thinks very seriously and I read LotR. I've never read Wuthering Heights and I dont look like a butterfly. That would be creepy.

That's just because we are compared to you, O Tall Person!

What is going on with everyone picturing Eomer in a kilt? Yes, I know he's Scottish, but he can't wear a kilt 24/7. But, come to think of it, he probably could... and what pants he wears are plaid... They match his kilt. Hmm.... I must re-think my image.

I think even if I read this thread from the very beginning, and all 26 pages in between, I would retain my generic images. There's generic teen boy, generic teen girl, generic college boy, generic college girl, generic adult boy, and generic adult girl.

You all have slightly unkempted light brown hair, and unilluminated eyes so I don't know their color. The teens are scrawny, college kids are still scrawny because they have no money, and by adulthood have put on perhaps more than healthy weight. The girls' hair goes between end of shoulder blades and end of back, and the boys' from normal to shoulder. Those of you in the Near-Sighted Elves Society have thin rimmed glasses.

And we all have an air of this site being about the only place where we can discuss Tolkien how we which to.

uh huh... i'm 6'4 btw

Tall is such a relative term. Gil-Galad, I'm ready to concede that you're taller than *most* other people on the Downs. But to me, you're not tall. :p My father and my middle younger brother are both 6'8". When people say someone is tall, perhaps he is - to them. To me, someone needs to be at least 6'6" for me to recognize that he's tall. There's a guy I've known for 3 years, and he's 6'5", I think. It never occurred to me that he was tall - I just felt normal around him! He was the size I am used to. My father was the first man I ever knew (obviously), and for a very long time the tallest I'd ever seen. When you see 6'8" as normal, what does that make the rest of the world??

But, for the sake of most other people, I'm ready to admit that you're tall. But I also hasten to defend Neurion. I don't know how tall he is. But I'm certainly not going to assume that 6'4" is the Downs' upper limit! :D

Incidentally, my oldest younger brother is roughly 6'2" - 6'3". My youngest younger brother is nearly 6' (we haven't measured in a while), and he's younger than you. It's a big question to see if he'll beat the oldest or not.

To stay on-topic: I see Neurion as his avatar, one of the Lorien Elves, and particularly since he's agreed he's tall. So, that makes him a good 6'6" or more, with a slim, strong build. Blond hair (but not long - I can't stand that), grey eyes, "aristocratic features." But he's a teenage boy, say 15, and although he looks like an Elf, he's full of mischief and chain-pulling.

Talk of the respective heights of Gil-Galad and Neurion was of limited interest the first time that it came up on this thread. Now we are into the third or fourth round of discussion on this issue, it is becoming rather dull. Another occurrence may result in the closure of the thread ...

Personally, I would like to see more posts along the following lines:

Abercrombie of Rohan (http://forum.barrowdowns.com/showpost.php?p=378829&postcount=991)

Diamond18 (http://forum.barrowdowns.com/showpost.php?p=332782&postcount=43)

A large majority of the umpteen hundred posts on this thread are distinctly lacking in the humour which one would expect on a Middle-earth Mirth thread, but which is exemplified in these posts.

For some reason, I'm picturing a PotC fan. Perhaps it's the "Pot" in her name. She's obviously a Star Trek fan, but I can also see a creative writer hiding inside her. Maybe some manic poetry or a private journal. Not the internet blog variety of girl. She's got waist-length black hair and dark eyes. Her skin is a lovely glowing golden brown, and she listens to The Beatles and a bunch of bands that nobody else has ever heard of. She has a great fondness of the classic arts, but (forgive me) is not much of an artist herself. She loves riding and spends an inordinate amount of time around horses, and when she isn't dreaming of riding off into the sunset with her hero, she's dreaming... of the hero. :D

Abercrombie of Rohan: I don't think that you have fallen victim to my guesses yet, so here it goes: Again, the name prompts me to think you as a Blonde who loves horses. My visions of AbercrombieOfRohan differ muchly from Morai's imaginitive imaginings. In my visions, Abercrombie is a somewhat bouncy girl with long brown hair and brown eyes, who is addicted to shopping. She consistantly wears distinctly "non-preppy" clothing.

I'm also one of those naturally lean people who don't put on extra flesh easily (probably high metabolism), so the build guess is acurate.

Heightwise, I'm somewhere around 6'3", but I stated I was not one of those shorter than Gil because I'm still growing. As for my age, I'm an immortal Eldar. ;)

The 'Downer has secured a cozy little spot in my mind, becoming, rather than an intelligent individual (this I do not know for a fact is true, but I assume, seeing as how Tolkien fans are automatically brilliant), a genderless, squat, small, bright yellow tennis ball. The kind you can buy at Walmart that has a smily face. I have a sneaky suspicion that my dogs would like to chase it (remember, genderless), but since my puppy is anti-social, that isn't saying much. As my Thai's new nickname is Jelly Bean (seeing as how he has a wee bit of a Jellybelly), him chasing The Tennis Ball Kid is much more impressive, as it implies actually running. I see TTBK with a rather active personality, going with the flow and bouncing from one subject to another quite quickly.

Well Abercrombie, it seems to be the popular thing these days (OK...today) to Imagine you...and after the "oh-so fitting"* image you gave of me I feel an overpowering need to respond in kind.

So, without further ado, I think AbercrombieOfRohan is decidedly stranger than has yet been suggested.

APPEARANCE: I imagine she's a fairly nondescript person who could
almost pass for normal if not for the fact that she is usually
muttering some work of Tolkien to herself, or caressing her copies
of the books between classes. I imagine that while she usually wears
jeans and a T-shirt (usually one that says something like 'Frodo
lives', 'There are some who call me...Tim' or 'I survived the Cliffs
of Insantiy') she has been known to wear various replicas of
clothing from the movies and has most likely incorporated some
aspect of The Lord of the Rings into every conceivable part of her
daily life at some time or another.

GEOGRAPHIC RANGE: New England...but with various escape
(mirgration?...no, American Abercrombies are non-mirgratorial)
attempts to England.

HABITAT: In her room, which has been made to resemble
Bag End...pantries and all...

BEHAVIOR:As suggested by her location and signature, I imagine she
spends a fair amount of time gallivanting around the galaxy, looking
for a cup of tea, and playing Scrabble. She has probably been tossed
out of more than a few pet stores for using their fish inappropriately in
an attempt to learn either Esparanto, Klingon, Xaasongaxango (http://www.ethnologue.com/show_language.asp?code=KAO), or all three.

FOOD HABITS: The rival of mine...I susspect that "you also enjoy
eating odd food combinations, like peanuts and chocolate milkshakes."

OTHER: I imagine that she is not nearly as nerdy as suggested by her
appearance, and that people who take the time to know her find that
she is in fact a really nice, enthusiastic person who has a great
sense of humour and find that she isn't nearly as obsessive as she
first seems...but that she is in fact more obsessive...

::reads it over:: yep...most definitely Abercrombie...Sorry about it being written like a field guide entry, but that's what you get when I'm posting while studying...

Abercrombie has always seemed to me, to be either:

a) Just bursting to the brim with pop culture, and taste in fashion, with a side of fantasy reading.
or
b) Tigger wearing Abercrombie & Finch, bouncing while reading LOTR...

I don't know why, but i'm senseing a Tigger... Bouncy extroverted outside, but with an inside unknown to most of the general population.

I am a dashingly handsome young man, with deep green eyes, tall (but not by Nurunar's standards), with a brilliant intelligence, charming wit, and money like a Rockefeller.

Oh! Wait!

This is the "How do you imagine other BDers?" thread, not the "How do you imagine yourself thread?"

Unfortunately, most people's images are tied to their avatars and/or names. Thus, Estelyn Telcontar is some strange amalgamation of ogre, elf, and princess. A nasty combination, let me assure you. Let's hope she doesn't change to a Dwarf avatar....

The Barrow-wight is a fun-loving, rule-breaking, chatter. He lives in a rather dimly-lit basement, and has a small circle of furry, but devoted friends. (Sorry, that avatar looks too cheerful...)

Fordim Hedgethistle is known to be Canadian, and is known to use good Queen's English. Unfortunately, he is displayed as an Indiana Jones dog, so we come up with a cur of American ancestry (therefore, probably a prairie boy), grew up in the country, inherited a fortune from a British uncle that sent him to Oxford, and is now living in the Toronto area, where he fits in about as well as an ork in Rivendell...

You may have just written the funniest post I think I've EVER read!Congratulations! I tried to refrain from being too weird, but after that post I think I shall have to be.

You live in a cardboard box in a dumpster. And I don't mean that in a bad way, you choose to live in a dumpster. You think it smells better than most humans... You have a dog named Jack and he is your best friend, sometimes you blindfold yourselves and have fun trying to walk around without walking into small objects. (You have nothing against large objects.) You enjoy counting to 24, because it is a smashing number, with some lovely digits...

Most of the time you like to go to the zoo and study the monkeys, for that is what you want to be, when you grow up. (Yes, I do mean a monkey, despite the fact that you obsess over penguins.) Sometimes you practice while walking down the street and people think that you are crazy, which is the norm. Sometimes you even sing while doing it... * Rene Descartes was a drunken old fart, I drink therefore I am...*

You understand that 1+1= 10 (NERD!) and you really have a rock fetish. Sometimes you walk around (blindfolded) and find rocks, you keep them in a house, which you bought to live in, but later found that you couldn't squeeze yourself in, because of all the rocks. It's pretty much all you talk about. One time you went to Alaska, (combination of penguins and rocks) and were attacked by a polar bear, (because you were blindfolded.) You also absolutely refuse to be governed by a strange woman lying in a pond.

You like making movies, and are an accomplished director, with such movies as Apricots and Fish and The Tale of the PVA Canoe. (Yes, you do know what PVA is.) Sometimes you ask questions out of context, like, 'what the curtains?' and then laugh histerically about it. Your main inspiration for your movies comes from Star Trek. You actually have a HUGE crush on Leonard Nimoy, mostly because of his "dreamy eyebrows." (Can eyebrows be dreamy?)

Someday you plan on moving into a cave, and wearing a batman suit, so that at night you can drive out of your cave in the batmobile and save the town. (Whatever that town happens to be.) Your favorite book is also Paradise Lost by John Milton, though sometimes it seems that God is a little too piratical...

I don't think it's as funny as your post , but perhaps, we shall see...

The Only Real Estel
03-08-2005, 05:39 PM
Gil-galad: Gil-galad seems to be rather a midget, he owns at least one of the oversized 'Darth Vader helmets' you'll seen in Space Balls, & has often become attached to characters in movies that have less than five seconds of screen time and are never named (see the real Gil-galad himself). Strikes me as the type of guy that would pick most of the toppings off of a slice of supreme pizza, he has probably seen the Prince's Bride more than three times, and burns a lot of music CDs. Unfortunately, Gil gave up his interests in both the tuba and the bagpipes; he now denies that he has ever played a note of music on either. Of course he got rid of the kilt that came with the bagpipes when he sold it to Eomer close to eight years ago. Used to chew his nails pretty badly, but he has licked that habit by now. He doesn't like to have his picture taken very much, but that's not revealing much since hardly anyone does. If I'm not mistaken I have hit very close to the mark.

Yes. (http://councilofelrond.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=My_eGallery&file=index&do=showpic&pid=1296&orderby=titleA)

I shall next direct my attentions to... Elennar!

Leny is shortish with blonde hair. She wears cute little glasses, although she wouldn't want anyone to think of her as "cute." She often wears blue in the same shade as her avatar -- incidentally her eyes are that color as well. She likes sandals and flowy skirts.

For one thing, TPotSS, I'm amazed that I was right at all about you. Lucky guess, I suppose. But judging that you said I was correct (mostly), and judging by what I did say... You're right about me! *grin*

I've actually recently gotten my hair cut, so it's short enough to cause "Omigod, Fea, why did you cut your hair???" from people who claim to know me, and "Wow, that looks great!" from people who actually do. Judging by the conversation we had in Physics today, my skin tone apparently makes me royalty. As for drawing... most of you saw my dancing jesters avatar (props to Encai), so judge for yourselves.

As for Abercrombie... it seems to be the latest trend to describe you, m'dear. Since I always hated trends, I won't do it. :p

On to describe Fordim. I can't for the life of me get a feel for what this guy *really* looks like! And so, I'm playing this completely by [pointy] ear. Winging it, you might say. I suppose the closest image I've been able to reach is that of Marcus Brody, the absent-minded (yet lovable) pal of Dr. Henry Jones Sr. and his son Indie. But at heart, Fordie will always be Indiana.

AbercrombieOfRohan
03-09-2005, 04:17 PM
Oh but Fea it's so fun! Think of all the endless possibilities...

*talking as Fea*

Abercrombie you have 6 toes on one foot and four on the other. Once you tried to chop your extra toe off with a bulldozer to replace the missing one on the other foot. But all you ended up with was no toes and your legs under a bulldozer, which is no help at all.

or

Abercrombie you have a problem with your skin that makes scorpions constantly attracted to you. Sometimes when you're in the shower, you get a flood of scorpions creeping out of every hole possible to crawl all over your skin. I think that the only way to get rid of them it to peel two potatoes and stick one under each armpit, then hop around madly while trying to put on tap dancing shoes...

*not talking as Fea *

See? It's quite extraordinary, and since I'm having so much fun I think I'll describe you too.

Feanor of the Peredhil is an amazing basketball player. She is 7 feet tall and lives in four foot tall house. She tries desperately hard to be a hobbit, but fails miserably. Oh well, sometimes you can't have everything.

You really like to wear hats of all shapes and sizes. Your favorite hat is the one you got when you went to York, England. It is a gigantic viking hat 37 feet wide and 26 feet tall. You spend most of your time in it, because it smells like hamburgers. (Your favorite smell.)

You usually wear sequined clothing, becuase it makes you look shiny and that is very, very important. Sometimes, you carry around a battery pack and a lightbulb and you hang the lightbulb over your head with a specialized crane, so that you have an Aura.

Capitalization is your favorite part of grammar and you capitalize whenever you have a chance. Sometimes, you'll capitilize every single word in a sentence and your teacher will get mad at you. Your brother on the other hand, doesn't capitilize, he uses commas. All the time. Each member of your family has their own special grammatical power. You are the Capitalization Fairy.

hmmm... am I close? ;)

She has had plastic surgery on both her ears, one to look like an elf ear and the other to look like a Vulcan ear, and she seems to think there is a difference. She once dated an orc, which angered people and so she got into sword fights because of it. They cut off almost all her clothes, which is why she's Abercombie . She tends to mutter 'my precious' when thinking about anything she likes, especially noodles. She also wears those weird contact lenses, the printed kind that make your eyes look like stuff. Hers look like flowers. She smokes a pipe and speaks with a phony British accent. I imagine that she actually resides somewhere in northern Canada, but runs away every few weeks to a more tropical lifestyle in Bermuda. She is rather short, thought she wishes she were taller so that people would stop mistaking her for a dwarf and she has yet to realize that for that to happen, all she has to do is shave off the beard. She also tends to walk up to random people and point into their faces while muttering some random phrase in Elvish. Her hobbies include knitting and nancing around in fields being proud of how pretty she is. She also enjoys getting drunk and singing songs from Monty Python. Her skin is very pale because she never goes outside, and trust me, you never want to see her dance.

Yep, that's Abercrombie all right. Hope I didn't offend you.

Wow... that is so incredibly wrong that it's hilarious!

*speaking as Fea*

Yep... that's me alright. Well... except that I play soccer, am not particularly tall, have a large house, prefer Elves... Oh, but what I wouldn't give for an aura... ;)

Wouldn't this sort of back and forth conversation qualify for discussion in The masks of inscrutability, or are you really you? (http://forum.barrowdowns.com/showthread.php?t=10753)

Hush, L*... don't go off topic.

Abercrombie of Rohan, you are a size 5, blonde-haired, blue-eyed teenage girl with a crush (which even you can't comprehend) on Jake Gyllenhaal. You've seen Donnie Darko, but didn't really understand it. You like horses, but rarely get a chance to ride. Your favorite school subject is Algebra, but once math reaches the "When will we ever use this?" level, you revert to History. You prefer local history to global, however. You like to paint, but can't stand trying to accurately capture the image, preferring to paint what looks cool instead. Your favourite television show is American Idol, but you also like That 70's Show and The Beverly Hillbillies.

Malkatoj, spot on! How did you know?

Since I don't want the mods to close this thread down on account of chatting, I will have to post a reply as well. Which victim to choose... Oh! I know! Encaitare, you are the lucky contestant...

Encaitare, you are a child of the clouds. Most of the time you live in a room full of artificially generated mist, caused by the fog machines that you have strategically placed around your room. You always need to be wet, so you had a child kiddie pool installed in your room. It is constantly being refilled by your robot named Marvin.

You are a poetry lover and for most of the time that you spend in your tub, you are reading poetry, Vogon or otherwise.

When you are at school, you live in a bubble filled with specialized air. The air has pureed crystals in it and reminds you of your natural habitat. You usually wear a sign that says, " Don't touch me, I'm molting."

Sometimes you go to the aquarium, actually not sometimes, always. Your favorite exhibit is the starfish, becuase they are stuck to the rocks and you can't for the life of you, figure out how it has happened. sometimes, the security guard (George) escorts you out to the parking lot where you can't find your car, so you just end up taking the blackest looking car.

right?

I picture Mark: 12-30 as a towering patriarchal figure, most likely with waist-length or longer beard, and gnarled staff handy. Most likely to be found wandering the desert.

Favourite activities include striking springs out of stones and pronouncing judgements off of still-smouldering stone tablets.

dancing spawn of ungoliant - 170cm tall snake-human. She has short, purple hair and wears too much make-up. Brown eyes. Can't stay still for a moment, but doesn't speak much. 19 years old.
Feanor of Peredhil - long, dark hair. Short and has pointy ears. Hugo Weaving as Elrond -like eyebrows. Round head. Smiles often. And yes - she's a mixture of a noldorin elf and a hobbit. (I thought she was about thirty years old, but I checked. 17 (or 18). Oh my guard. :))

My meaning wasn't to insult you, if I did so... :D This is what you look like to me. Maybe I made you laugh as much as you made me laugh for your descriptions about me.

Amanaduial the archer She's kind, and adventureous, and has that trademark long shiny hair that looks picturesque in a light breeze. And this is what my name has reduced me to... oh! the horror! the horror!

at least you didn't choose 'Kurtz' as a name...:D

Malkatoj--You carry around at least one sword with you at all times, though you would prefer to have two. After you accidently cut your hair while playing with swords three times in a row you decided to solve the problem once and for all by getting rid of your head...after further thought however you decided that that wasn't the best of choices and just got a hair cut instead (which hair I don't know...there are too many to choose from...but I'm sure it looks lovely). You were recently put away for saying you were an emperor because some moistend bint had lobbed a scimitar at you (even though we all know that strange women laying on their backs in ponds handing over swords is no basis for a system of goverment and that supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses not from some farcical aquatic ceremony). You manged to escape though because you're a pirate and that's what pirates do...and the fact that you had help from a ninja named Alfred. Your favorite type of music is Rap...Esperanto Rap!

Encaitare--Well, I've been picturing you as your Ford Prefect avitar--mostly from lack of imagination--but since that picture was ruined for me the other day at school I now must picture you some other way, so here before the entire Barrowdowns I'll create the NEW YOU! (aren't you excited?...nervous?...putting on your pair of Joo Janta 200 Super-Chromatic peril Sensitive Sunglasses?)
You as well as reading poetry (Vogon or otherwise) attempt to write your own. Furthermore you insist on reading it to anyone who will listen and your house usually resounds with your shouts of

"Purple rose the sun one night
with a lovely greenish-brownish light
as penguins falling from the sky
learned, too late, they could not fly"

or

"Garbled flowers, moustached mouse,
poor petunia and thinking whale
such shall ne'er see my house
or hear this lovely rhyming tale"

because of the above described behaviour you're usually left homealone.
Physically you're very thin and aery. While not actually being small you always give the impression of being some lost faery, correction, some lost mischievous faery. Because you've always been seen as small and unimortant you tend to stand up for the little guys...and if that's not good enough you stand on their shoulders and shout--which ususally gets someones attention. You have long-ish light brown hair, bright and happy eyes (one blue one green) and a pair of fake vampire teeth you wear every single day (and polish before every visit to the dentist).

Enjoy! (or not...what with free-will and all...)

Now I shall describe you.

Encaitare looks a lot like her avatar. She is a bit nearsighted, but refuses to wear glasses, giving her a perpetual squint. She likes to be outside, but has to wear tons of sunscreen as she burns easily. She can often be found reading poetry aloud to herself under a tree, or with a laptop computer, at the 'Downs.

*raises eyebrow* I dare say, you people have far too much time on your hands.
As for the (much) earlier comment of people looking a bit like their Avatars, I must disagree: They do not pick the avatars as resemblance to their physical appearance. After all, physical characteristics are only skin deep.
The avatar is meant to represent something much deeper and more personal than appearance; it represents the soul.
Like Abercrombie. He chose Spam as his representative.
Spam is the diet of an astronaut. Well, Spam and Tang, that is.
I lived the first few years of my life on Spam. It is a daily presence in my life.

Well, I seem to be appreciated here. Mischief managed!

Gil-Galad, I know, Spam and Monty Python, can't go wrong with that.

Now, I haven't been imaginative lately so I think I will. While browsing the BD forum I realized something, THE Ka will be turning 100 this year! So I thought that that was cause for celebration and therefore I am going to be describing her to you all.

THE Ka is the youngest old person that you will ever meet. She lives by herself (in a bird's nest, but I'll get there later) and she doesn't need a walker. In fact, her great-great grandchildren still play with her on the playgorund.

In appearance, she hardly lets on that she has seen both world wars. She is small and light and has long black hair full of ravens. Of course, you don't always notice the ravens as they are very small.

She is the world's first most authority on buttermilk. The making of, the selling of and the tasting of. She takes it very seroiusly too. She recently took a martial arts training class and is fully qualified to whip your behind. Back to buttermilk. She uses her great skills in martial arts to save people all over the world. Where there is a crime against buttermilk she is there to stop it. Thankfully, due to her altruistic work in the Campaign for Better Buttermilk, those crimes happen very rarely anymore and the world is a better place.

She has a had 4 eye transplants because of her incessant reading habits. When she picks up a book, she literally can't put it down until she finishes it, even Great Expectations. This has caused some problems before, especially on the subway when she kept missing her stop.

She is inclined to dress like a punk rocker in memorial of Motley Crue, her favorite band. Usually she rides a donkey to work (at the buttermilk factory) because she hates modern transportation, besides the baggage carousels at the airport. She likes hats perched at a jaunty angle and cookies with peanut butter.

Happy future birthday, Granny!

I still imagine the Phantom as I originally did on page two (http://forum.barrowdowns.com/showthread.php?t=10854&page=2&pp=40) :

The Phantom: A Black Ridery type of person, usually dresses in black & if he's wearing something hooded the hood is extremely deep & quite dark (or course). Everywhere he goes he's followed by a shadowy mist of secrecy. Few have ever seen his face, in fact, I'm only guessing that he's male. Nearly 6 feet tall, The Phantom can be a menacing & intimidating form when he puts his mind to it.

Basically his avatar with a few added things.

Burrahobbit has fangs.

(I'm sorry, burrahobbit, but...) For some reason I always imagined burra as a fluffy creature of some kind. It may be that the "burra" made me think of spiny burs, but then as there was the hobbit, it turned into soft, fluffy burs or some kind. I don't know; my mind works in weird ways.

And for some reason, I agree that phantom is, in my mind, although I don't know him well, a misty spectre of some variety.

It's been a while since we have been on the same thread, so there is a chance that this is purely imaginative:

Hmm. I have an odd imagination, so people tend to morph, in my mind.

Feanor of the Peredhil is sometimes herself. However, she is quiet often imagined as the  or :p smileys due to her overuse of them. Occasionally, when she is serious, she morphs into a (male) Feanor, mighty and wise and everything else the Noldor are, yadda yadda. When she calls me "m'boy" she is Spike (http://www.volny.cz/romanam/obrazky/spike1.jpg) from Tom & Jerry.

Eomer of the Rohirrim is kilted. Duh. He has long hair and occasionally morphs into movie-Eomer. Quite often, I imagine him as the :D smiley, with a stick body attached to it. I also cannot imagine him without a grin, whatever form he is in.

the phantom only has two real forms. One is his actual self. The other is his display pic, but darker and more mysterious.

SpM is simply his display pic. He never morphs. Occasionally, though, he wears a sophisticated suit worthy of a lawyer.

Eomer I've always pictured as somebody who's hair is never neat or tidy but rather bushy and messy. I'd like to picture him with red hair but probably has dark brown. Average height and weight. But at home, when he can't find any threads to discuss, I see him watching the movies brooding over them trying to find something else to post about.

Actually, a girl on another board gave me a huge compliment: after she saw this (http://img197.echo.cx/img197/7776/p40200690tg.jpg), she said it somehow reminded her of Uma Thurman.

Vanima has dirty blonde hair that's straight but surprisingly thick with a mind of its own. On most days it's restrained with a scrunchy. Sandals and jeans are the norm, with an occasional eye-catching piece of jewelry. Then there's always those sleek sunglasses....

Dirty blonde hair - check, I have honey/dirty blonde hair.
Straight - no, it's curly.
Surprisingly thick with a mind of it's own - check.
Restrained with a scrunchy - check: have my hair back every day.
Sandals and jeans - sometimes check: I'm one of those weird people that either wears jeans or a skirt.
Eye-catching piece of jewelry - you know it...I have a jewelry addiction, I swear.
Sleek sunglasses - lol! I so should start wearing sunglasses.

Wow, for not knowing me, you really know me, Morai. *Gives a nervous glance over her shoulder* That you hiding behind the door?

TGWBS Your picture shows what I thought you'd look like. Simply younger and skinny.

Ah, I simply look younger. I'm 15, but look 13ish, I think.

I'd substitute skinny with hunky, but I can't. :p

tgwbs, you're only 15? My, I thought you were at least 18. Don't worry, I mean that as a compliment. ;)

Eomer has pasty white complexion, like a vampire's. Or Snoopy, for that matter. :D He has dark brown, slightly curly hair, has brown eyes that are constantly glued to the TV or the computer, and is quite tall and hunky. And however he says otherwise, he has a deep, mellow voice. (Okay, Eomer. You may laugh now.)

VanimaEdhel is, purely and simply, a mist. I don't know why.

Eomer... is quite tall and hunky.
Hmm. Eomer as hunky? I always imagined him as quite skinny. I associate tea with skinny people, I don't know why. Maybe 'cos I like tea.

mormegil used to be a black sword. Nowadays I just imagine him as his (incredibly tall) self.

Lhuna is her display pic. She has no body, just a levitating head.

Heren Istarion used to be orange fireworks. Then he was himself in a bandanna for a while, and quite often he's a large heren. The heren is white and majestic, and I always imagine it just about to take off, flapping its wings...
Yeah.

TGWBS, I had also assumed that you were a few years older than you are, until I came across your profile a while ago.

The same goes for Aylwen Dreamsong - I had thought she was around 18 or 19, though she's actually 16 (I think).

On the other hand, until a short while ago I had thought that phantom was younger than he was, also around 18 or 19. So surprise, surprise, phantom's the trend-breaker and one of the very few that I have imagined as younger than he is. ;)

Lhuna, even though I know that you're Fillipino, I don't think I will ever be able to imagine you as such. You will always have long blonde hair and a Caucasian complexion, though you tend to be somewhat tan. For that matter, the same goes for Nilp... mostly, this still stands:Originally posted by me, page 1:
Tall, with spiked blonde hair. He has light blue eyes, or maybe green. For some reason it is very easy to imagine him with a surf board. Except his hair is a little darker now (still spiked), and he's always very tan.

I pretty much imagine anyone who has their picture on the picture page as themselves - the notable exception being SpM, who is still the skinny guy in his avvie. ;)

Morm is completely right about the hair; it just cannot be tamed. Messy, verily. I would say I'm tall only I saw Morm's pic and cannot really say that anymore! I'm 6 foot. Oh, and don't let the real Eomer's build fool you: I'm probably about half his size. I look like a long-distance runner (only I don't run) or someone who smokes way too many cigarettes (only I don't smoke). As for a deep mellow voice, well...I can put that on if you like. ;)

Try as I might I cannot imagine tgwbs as a dwarf. Just impossible. As horrible as this might sound to him, I imagine him as looking completely normal. Only shorter than usual, of course. With the possible air of a mafia lackey.

Lhuna is graceful, and as cute as a button.

Mid to upper 30's. She's a very busy homemaker that finds time for the downs. Trim but not petite. Average height. wavy light brown hair. Green eyes. Her house is immaculate with never a spec of dust. Very organized in self and apperance. Her outfits are always neat and pressed. No wrinkles for her.

Her house is immaculate with never a spec of dust. - Hahaha, you should see my room.

Morm, before I saw your pic, I imagined you as: Early to Mid 20's, about 6', shortish dark hair, brown eyes - generally good-looking. A T-shirt and jeans type of guy who likes to have a good time.

Mormegil: Ignoring the picture page (and the fact that you look like a friend of mine probably will in about 10 years), you are, and always will be, Roger Moore as James Bond.

Eomer: I can't understand it, but you aren't Karl Urban in a kilt any more. And... Biff is gone! Perhaps only on holiday, but he's not right beside you. You are now built very much like my brother (6'0" even, rail thin), with broad shoulders. Messy/curly black hair, clean shaven, except for when you get it into your head that you want to look like a pirate rogue, in which case it takes you rather more than a day to grow out your swashbuckling facial scruff. You wear the color red a lot, and detest clip-on ties.

Eomer of the Rohirrim

I detest shirts and ties. And I am a pirate so that's probably where you got that image from. Oh, and Biff was never really here. It's me who's typing this; honest.

By the way Fea, you are still a small explosive bundle of noise and laughter who runs madly through the scarecrow fields. ;)

Firefoot is about 21, Turkish, stylish black hair, pretty.....or is that someone else I know... :D

Also Morm, I am getting really used to your pic. The initial shock has totally worn off.

Gurthang is a youngish man, pale with dark hair, very quiet and he sits in the dark with only the light of his computer monitor to see by. Once he sets himself to do something, that thing gets done. He also grins to himself a lot, without mirth.

Formendacil is a very happy, active guy. He is very tall, thin, freckled and red-haired, which is cut crew-style, and he wears purple-and-green striped turtlenecks.

Hmm, Folwren is a very petite young lady, with fine brown hair down to her shoulder blades. She has greygreen eyes and a sharp featured face.

Saurreg is a young man with a hidden fountain of mirth that tumbles down the mountainside, carrying with it trees, sheep, and small rocks. No idea where that came from, but seriously. I can see him as very smart, confident, and quiet.

Celuien is a happy-go-lucky gal, with short blonde hair and a perpetual smile. She loves the color purple, and wishes to dye her hair the same color.

Hmm, strange - I imagined Gurthang more like this:

Short & heavy (roughly 5'6, 250 lbs?), with dark shades that he wears nearly all of the time with his red leather jacket. Drives a Chevy Nova with Lambourgini doors and illegal window tinting, blasting the music so loudly that every bolt in his car quivers.

A star basketball & tennis player, but he also likes to play video games - and he hates Mountain Dew. Probably a sophmore in high school, plans on becoming the first person to hike to the top of Pike's Peak with his girlfriend on his back. Loves 'splatter' films (as good ol' PJ calls them), and usually has a crowd of about 20 people around him.

I could of course be entirely wrong, but I find this very unlikely...

I have a very vivid image of tgwbs that dates back to 2003 and the days of the You know you're obsessed with LotR when... threads. I picture him as very short with brown hair and big glasses, about 13 years old. (the age he was back then) Oddly enough, I still picture him as about 13, even though that was 2 years ago. He talks very fast and is constantly carrying a very large book around with him and excitedly reading aloud from it. He wears a lot of dark colors and his clothes are always a bit too big on him.

Hehehe...

Wrong on all counts!

Okay, that's not quite right... I b]am[/b] a guy...

But not particularly more happy than others, certainly not active, not particularly tall, not thin, barely freckled, certainly not redhaired (and not crewcut at that), no purple-and-green, and not even any turtlenecks...

Still, quite funny...

As for Oddwen, to return the favour, I see her as short to medium height, near-black hair with blue or violet highlights. Her eyes are either green or blue (or maybe one is green and one is blue). She dresses in green and black, quite casually, and is but a mere acquaintance of whatever is "in". She has lots of friends, but is not considered to be one of the "popular circle" in school (a good thing), and can often be heard trying to mumble something Elvish.

Formendacil wears glasses. He is a homebody, a bookworm, not very athletic - thus giving him a complexion like a vampire's (like Eomer! :D). He has straight brown hair which could never be seen messy. He has a disposition too serious for his age.

This complexion thing must stop, for you see Lhuna - my mother is crazy. Actually, my complexion has lead people to suppose I am French, Italian, Greek....but never Scottish. So I'd look like a particularly healthy vampire. But only when I'm cloaked.

I think I want to have a stab at Mithalwen (not literally). I picture her as being very tall, probably about 6'4, and she has a penchant for wearing flowing green dresses. She can often be seen floating through the woods, holding in awe the wispy spectres of the trees.

As for Oddwen she looks nothing like that girl who masqueraded as her in my dream. Oddwen is your typical damsel-in-distress, at least, she has the look (she doesn't often feel distressed, she's pretty happy and cheerful most of the time). She wears dark red and black dresses and an extremely tall and pointy hat. She probably lives in a tower and spends much of her time gazing out of the window, wishing for something extraordinary and beautiful to happen to her. She has huge puppy-dog eyes.

Ignoring all of the descriptions of Formendacil thus far, here is my own:

He is tall... about 6'2" and, as a youth, must have been terribly gangly and awkward. He's now filled out a bit (but not too much... he's still slender) and now walks with a careful grace that is more learned than natural. He's got tawny blondish brown hair that flops into his eyes no matter what he does with it, and wears contact lenses. He can usually be seen with a messenger bag slung over his shoulder. Inside, one can find random references for use in every scholarly conversation known to man. Surprisingly, the bag is not all that large. It's reddish brown. He's got surprisingly blue eyes that people rarely remember... when they're asked, they say that they can't be certain, but they think they might be brown. What is actually remembered about them is the disorienting depth of them.

TGWBS's skin is what he detests it being referred to as the "glowing" healthy tanned variety. His hair is dark and short, but a little longer at the top, worn in a very "European" looking faux-hawk. His glasses are small wire frames that are very becoming. Contrary to everything I've heard, he is approximately 21, with a bit of an Oxford accent, and is rather tall. He loves irony.
Lhuna is Eowyn. I don't care what she says otherwise. But she's got a little grey kitten that can usually be seen curled up on her left shoulder. She hates how much it sheds on her white button-up shirts (the flattering variety), but she can't resist it's cuddly warmth and how softly it purrs as it naps.

Nilp changes appearances as often as he changes personalities. He's been spotted by credible sources in a 50's sitcom style floral frock, with a lacy apron over top, and a short while later, he's been seen surfing in naught but swim trunks, not that the ladies mind. His muscular frame is highlighted in a rather becoming way by his dark tan. He's got black hair that flops, for lack of better word, over his forehead.

I've always thought of Estel as looking like his avatar :D. About 6'4, 275 lb. with a thick, dark mustache and very intense (and I mean scary intense!) eyes. Sticks to what he knows, which is the books. He's read those more times than he's seen the films, which is a considerable number in both cases. He enjoys a pleasant game of chess, and would not be caught dead using a computer as a gaming apparatus. He works as a bouncer each night, and a very good one at that (his eyes do the work), yet has a softer side for that woman-of-his-dreams.

He used to enjoy soccer and rugby, before he had to beef up for his bouncer position. He still likes to watch those on TV, but can't very often because he sleeps quite a bit of the day. Yet he still finds time to coach a little league soccer team, and sometimes referees for other age levels.

I guess that avatar says a lot! :D

Fea, I think you hit really close to a lot of TGWBS's real characteristics - this is how I see him:

A bloodthirsty werewolf. He has be at least 6'2" when he's a wolf, though he truly is 'short' when he's in human form.

His hair is dark and short, but a little longer at the top

Short dark hair for his hide, or course.

a very "European" looking faux-hawk

Well, it's true his favorite dinner is a poor helpless European, but when the people are to wary he will settle for a fox or a hawk.

with a bit of an Oxford accent

He is partial to a bit of Ox, but only when he can 'afford' it, the risk being great.

He loves irony

I imagine he does love iron, without his favorite sharpening tool his fangs wouldn't be nearly as razor sharp!

Oddwen, Holbytlass and Shelob are tall, dark-haired, and elegant. They have large, sharp teeth, however, that distract from their natural beauty and their gaits, while not unnattractive, tend to look more like the lope of a predator. Holbytlass smiles more than the other two and speaks more, but Shelob has a cunning air about her. Shelob's exuberance is evident in the many happy freckles on her face. They all have long, sharp talons.

The Phantom is short, with croppy black hair cut into a military coiffure, and he wears iron-rimmed glasses. He rarely smiles, and always wears fatigues. He works out a lot and has that odd muscly-short-guy look of a person who is always wanting to prove something by picking up heavy objects when pretty girls are around.

And speaking of pretty girls...

Feanor of the Peredhil is a tall willowy blond. She shatters hearts simply by walking down the road. She is cruel to men, loving to animals, and can jump very high. She is afraid of running water and freshly cleaned towels.

the guy who be short is tall.

Oddwen, to return the favour, I see her as short to medium height, near-black hair with blue or violet highlights.

Hmm...very close, Formen, save for the hair color and the fact that I never went to school.

I think you're slightly mixing me up with Fiona of Shrek fame...yipe! I'm a distressing damsel, if at all. :p

Oddwen...tall, dark-haired, and elegant. They have large, sharp teeth, however, that distract from their natural beauty and their gaits, while not unnattractive, tend to look more like the lope of a predator. ... They all have long, sharp talons.
I'm afraid you're completely off the mark there with me, Ford-O. Except that I used to file my fingernails into points. ¬.¬

Encaitare:

The first time I came across Enca was in Tol-in-Gaurhoth One. Due to her character, she has always remained an old crone in my mind since then, despite my later finding out that she's 18 (I think).

Enca is very old and wrinkled. She is kindly, and always has a smile on her face, if not a chuckle. She is wider than she is tall, and waddles whilst clutching her dress. She often bounces with excitement.

Some of that got added as I got to recognise her posts and know her a little better. She will probably become a normal young woman in my mind eventually. Until then, a crone she remains.

I'm 5 feet 9 inches tall... that'd have to be pretty wide! Though the image of me waddling through a field holding up my hem is pretty funny. :D I guess being a crone isn't so bad. They're generally considered wise, which is always a good thing.

The Only Real Estel has been through three phases in my mind.

Early Phase: He looked like Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow. Obvious enough.

Middle Phase: This stemmed from seeing his name abbreviated to TORE. I pronounced this "Tory" which is a sort of nickname of the Conservative Party in Britain. Consequently, TORE became a Tory. He was 40ish, with balding hair and a paunch. He owned quite a bit of land and always wore a suit.

Late Phase: He's just himself from the photo-page. Boring, eh? Well, at least he's always horizontal, which is quite interesting. He manages to come on the Downs by balancing a laptop on his stomach.

By the way Fea, you are still a small explosive bundle of noise and laughter who runs madly through the scarecrow fields.
I've only just found this. I won't even go into detail about how hard the people generally surrounding me would laugh if they read that. Especially the ones that know me well. :) But in all honesty, your description sounds quite a lot more like my puppy. She's a German Shepherd and is... rambunctious. And fast. And likes to do hit-and-runs where she nips my shins and runs off, hoping I'll chase her. Me... I'm more mellow. ;) A little.

Mithadan is a modern day Tolkien, with a webpage devoted to his very own Mithology. He wears Hawaiian shirts and baggy white pants and whiles away his days doing yoga on the beach. His silver hair seems almost to glow in the light, and when he is not having pictures taken of him by tourists admiring the way he can get his knee behing his left ear he is creating his own worlds. Possibly influenced by pipe weed.

Rimbaud is a frog. It is his deepest desire that fair Princess Fiona/Esty will kiss him and turn him into the prince that he was born as. He will then rule his given kingdom of Gondor with a stern hand and many less ribbits. He's got black hair that flops, for lack of better word, over his forehead.(Fea)

Altogether, a close enough description. Thanks! :)

Enedwaith, I have new mental images on some Downers:

Firefoot: She's short and she has black hair. If she could, she would never leave the computer, for fears of someone beating her to the answer in Quiz Room threads. ;)

Fea: No, wait, she has a pic. So, let's describe her brother instead.

Alrighty, I'll try my hand at this. I've not been on for long, so I've only had a chance to form a picture of a couple people...

Piosennial - she's a young woman (mid twenties) who's got very light brown hair and brown eyes, about 5'6 in height. She's apparently good at doing several things at once and she's also a good writer, so I'd say that she often works at a computer at a desk in some college campus...however, it hasn't harmed her complexion at all and she's got fair skin very slightly tanned. And although she smiles often, it's a small smile and swiftly passes as she goes onto her next job.

Firefoot - Black hair, dark brown eyes (if not black), tall, slender, pale, and quiet, but very observant, and very nice. Almost thirty, or a little more.

Eomer of the Rohirrim - about eighteen, maybe, sandy blond hair, cut about the ears in little curls, brown eyes, and a big smile that's often there. Intelligent, humorous, sometimes insultingly witty, and probably a smart alleck. However, he's probably looking into double major at some difficult college pretty soon...

the guy who be short - Well, I'll take his word for it and say he's short. So, TGWBS is short, blue, impish, twinkling eyes in a darkly tanned face with brown, straight hair. No comment on age or job or anything else.

And that's all I've got for now, folks. (If I'm wrong, keep in mind I've only read a very few of these posts so as not to ruin my own perception before I posted...)

Coincidence? Nay, my dear Fea. We Elves have built an efficient network of gathering news before the invention of the carrier pigeon.

I'm starting to imagine Folwren as kind of like one of my friends...

She is short and thin and looks very sweet and innocent with shoulder length brown hair and brown eyes. She is tougher than she looks, though, and is rather athletic and liable to knock people over despite her small size. She has a great sense of humor and likes to be with friends. She leans more towards the introvert side and likes to curl up with a good book and possibly some music to relax. She is about 16 or 17 years old. She wears comfortable clothes but is not without a sense of style.

Durelin: Tallish, kinda, at 5'6, blond straigt hair, curled at the end slightly, and layered. Blue eyes, though not startlingly so like some people's are, and a regular built body - not skinny, but definitely not plump. Loves to shop and likes to have nice clothes.

Mark 12_30: If you are a girl, and assuming that you are seeing as you've not defended yourself otherwise, I picture you as Mom's height...five foot one. Brown hair and big brown eyes. You're quiet most of the time and observe, saying little unless you're really have a lot of fun, and because you say little, everyone thinks you're really smart. Tall...above six foot, but not too much taller than that, or it'd be rediculous. Blond hair, blue eyes, often laughing, though very smart, and is in his mid thirties.

Well you were right about a couple of things. I am tall. Even taller than you imagine though. 6'5" is about my height. No I am not in my mid-30's though I am approaching 30 fairly rapidly. I am blonde and blue. I do enjoy to laugh however I do not view myself as exceptionally intelligent especially when compared to many of the BDowners.

I inked the original and scanned it to pick up only black lines then printed it off and colored it out with prismacolors and a black gel pen. It's sweet. The two jesters (the guy no longer has a staff and his leg is different) are dancing in front of crazy impressionist-style flames. I like it.

Ooh! I wanna see! *bounces*

Curse the limit on smileys; I had a truly brilliant post lined up there!

Well, the most relevant were:

:) - Lhunardawen

 - The Saucepan Man

 - HerenIstarion

Next time, the 'wink', the 'tongue', and the 'grin'.

Or I could just do it now:

;) - dancing spawn of ungoliant

:D - Lalwende

The other 6 were filler, as you can imagine.

When I was younger I was encouraged to try Radio (more specifically sports reporter), as others felt I had the voice for it, but I found that it's sort of a risky. For three games I did announce for the Hockey Team around my area. :p I like the disembodied voice bit as well.

I am now imagining Boromir as one of the Test Match Special crew noticing buses, pigeons and scoffing chocolate cake, having a photographic memory of Wisden and collapsing into helpless laughter after inadvertant double entendres. The only question is wether he would be Borrers or Eighters......

I discovered quite randomly yesterday that I have a few songs (or bands) in my head that really remind me of Barrowdowners.
When I think of Eomer of the Rohirrim, I tend to imagine Modest Mouse or Bright Eyes playing behind him. That's in the threads. Via PMs, Metallica's earlier albums have the spotlight.

Encaitare is the song Bittersweet Symphony. "A million different people from one day to the next" describes her nicely, since so many people describe her differently.

Due to TGWBS's avatar when he was modding Tol-in-Gaurhoth, he has Of Wolf and Man by Metallica playing on a regular basis.

The Phantom has Frank Sinatra.

Estelyn has Bach.

Sharku has creepy classical. Not in a bad way, just... more drums.

Mithalwen, due to a well-chosen mathom, has I Will Survive at nearly all times. It is broken up with bagpipes playing mournfully (but way cooly) on a far distant hill in the morning fog.

Don't get me wrong... I have no idea if these people actually listen to the songs or bands I just mentioned... but they remind me of each other.

I've always thought of Mith as Harriet Vane. Tall, short dark hair, kind of thick eyebrows, sallow complexion. I don't have a mental image of her as Harriet from the BBC versions (the later ones, Harriet wasn't in the ones from the '60's), but more from the cover of some of my mom's Dorothy Sayers books, very much like this (http://ita.wisc.edu/currentstudents/2007/jilana/Images/Mith_Harriet.jpg).

Mithalwen is the colour of aspen leaves in early-ish autumn.

Orominuialwen is a dark, slightly purplish blue, somewhere between cobalt and navy blue.

Wilwarin is light blue with a bit of pink behind, that blends in some places to a lilac purple.

The Phantom is very dark purple.

Saucepan Man is a rather ordinary shade of brown.

Lucky... :(

Encaitare, besides being a mystikally cellorific enterprise (I have said this earier in this thread... It's somewhere and beautiful.) has always reminded me of of a good true Pre-Raphaelite work, possibly a Rossetti. Something like this: Helen (http://www.literatura.hu/lexikon/mitosz/rossetti_helen_of_troy.gif)

The phantom reminds me of an Cubist work, specifically Arch Tower (http://www.allposters.com/-sp/Arch-Tower-I_i290897_.htm) by Lyonel Feininger.

Wilwarin, is more of a Georgia O'Keeffe, especially From the Lake I (http://www.allposters.com/-sp/From-the-Lake-No-1_i390847_.htm).

Elennar Starfire, is without a doubt one Brian Froud's wonderful pastels, Penelope (http://images.art.com/images/PRODUCTS/large/10136000/10136630.jpg).

Does anybody else imagine people as actions?

Feanor has always been a excited forward rushing movement.
Eomer is an elegant half-pirouette, half-jump thing which, if he tried to do in real life, would probably end with him in a small heap and a broken arm.
Gil-Galad is a sort of excited bounce.
SpM is a little amused laugh, and then two saucepans crashing together.
LMP is a smirk which develops into manic laughter.
The Ka is a philosophical frown.

These are probably ridiculously contrary to reality.

Glirdan is in his late teens to early twenties, with an olive complexion and dark brown to black hair. He is tall. His head is a perfect oval, and he wears jeans and a t-shirt at home and for work wears a dark grey business suit. He works (possibly as an intern) at a large brown office building where he performs the most menial of the labor. He lives somewhere on the eastern coast of the US, probably around DC or southwards. Glirdan also has many brothers, but few sisters.

Folwren is a girl in her teens, maybe a bit on the younger side. She has long brown hair, slightly wavy, that extends a few inches past the shoulders. She is between five feet and five feet and six inches tall. She plays either a clarinet, flute, or violin, which she plays in a living room with large windows. She is an only child, but sometimes wishes it wasn't so. She likes to read fantasy and other fiction, and is often found outside. She also lives on the eastern coast of the US, but more northwards than Glirdan.

I might post more later.

Close Alca, very close!! I guess you can say I'm entering my late teens, in about a year. Me and Wilwa are the same age. You got the hair right and the skin kinda, you'd have to ask Wilwa. The clothing, you're right about, my job, completely off. Paper boy, until I find a part time somewhere's. Bêthberry can best be described as timeless. An ethereal air is about her. She has long golden brown hair – shampoo advert hair – and shiny bright eyes. She wears expensive coats and scarves at all times, because winter goes where she goes. She is never surrounded by other people because they are awestruck by her. Some suppose that she is a white witch, but they are incorrect. Bêthberry is not a white witch.

Firefoot is intense. She has bone-chilling eyes and a gaze which no mortal can hold; if they try, they break down and weep. She has a shock of jet black hair. Children run from her. She can be seen walking here and there, under the stormclouds, in the darkling countryside. Some suppose that she is a witch, and it is unclear whether they are correct or no.

the phantom is not so much a dark spirit, more a picture of power. His eyes are like inescapable magnets, and one moment in your company is all he needs to take your very soul. He is charming, and is mighty fair to look upon: that is his method. His skills of persuasion are on a par with Sauron's. No-one can ever rightly remember what he looked like; he is more force than flesh.

Gurthang is joyous to behold. He is tall and cheery and his shaggy hair perfectly matches his care-free nature. He is loved by all. When he walks down the street, children flock to him. Even animals surround him, eager for some company. He is rather Bombadil-esque in this regard. Some say that he can speak to the birds and the beasts.
