For they are a little people, smaller than Dwarves: less stout and stocky, that is, even when they are not actually much shorter. Their height is variable, ranging between two and four feet of our measure. They seldom now reach three feet; but they have dwindled, they say, and in ancient days they were taller. I don't know how you do it but it's correct.

Guinevere
08-18-2005, 01:48 PM
'Tis just speculation. ;)
/-/ must be "I" if it isn't "a". and d- had to be "do" , so the word in between had to be an auxiliary verb like "must" or "will" - then I just tried out possible words..."I knew that I must do (it or so)" "but I feared the -a-- (dark? pain?) " and then it made suddenly "click"

Or course it only works with quotes that for some reason touch me and therefore stay in my mind. As I once said to Firefoot, this game is so enjoyable because it gives us an opportunity to share with others the words that we love! :)

Anyway, here is a new one for you to ponder over:

----/ ----/ ---/ ------/ -----/ ---/ ----/, ----/ ---/ ----/ -----/ ---/ -----/ --/ ---/ -----/. ---/ ----/ -----/ -/ ----/ ----/ --/ ------/ -----/, ---/ ---/ ----/ --/ ---/ ---/ --------/.

There is malice in this sword. The dark heart of the smith still dwells in it. It will not love the hand it serves, neither will it abide with you long.

"And mariners' wives are few, and they endure what they must, for such is their livelihood and their necessity. The King's heir is not a mariner by trade, nor is he under necessity."

Well, mariners are not found in so many places... Besides, I am very fond of UT! ;)

Try this one:

"---/ ----/ --/ ----/ ---/ ---/ --/ ----/ ------/ --/ --------/, ---/ --/ ----/ ---/ -----/ --/ --/ -------/. -----------/, ----/ ----/ --/ ---/ ------/ ---/ ----/ ---/ ----/ -------/ --/ ----/ -----/; ---/ --/ ---/ --/ ----/ --/ --------/ ---/ ---/ --/ ---/ -----/."
