From the end of The Silmarillion. My version of the book has 'the' before beautiful, and that would be missing from the quote, which otherwise appears to fit perfectly.

I had no delusion that I was the first! :D But sometimes, things just fall into place with very little to go on. I've freaked out a few of my relatives by walking into a room where they were watching the TV game show, saw the topic and the blank spaces, and knew the answer before a single letter was up. It's a pattern-seeking thing -- that and being familiar with a lot of clichés. ;)
