Told you! Here it is:
1. Mother returns – back to the Ford, almost – for him.
2. Invert direction of winding suburban French train. Why, we hear? For him!
3. Primate runs back for him, vowel-shifting in the process!
4. See a dwarf caper around for him!
5. He returns, but to no German village.
Huinesoron

5. A German village, I think, is a Dorf. Add a 0 ('no') and (re)turn it, you get FRODO.

I'm pretty sure this dwarf mines, (given half a chance!), but we're not calling him 'miner' on this occasion.

Or maybe OROPHIN (ORI+HOP)

I know that in German, there are specific names for different styles of train (U-bahn/S-bahn); not sure if the same applies in French.
If Rumil is Rumil of Tirion, we might be looking at scholars.
Or, of course, Lorien if he's the Marchwarden.

Apparently the Paris suburbs have a train system called the RER. 'Why, we hear' must mean add a Y/I... could #2 be MERRY? It has RER + Y, and M is what you get if you invert the initial direction of 'winding' (ie, it's an upside-down W).

Unless you mean that I have a tendency to use stuff which doesn't come quickly to mind, in which case: guilty as charged.

The first clue just doesn't come together, and judging by the silence not for me alone.
The only lead I have is sound-alikes for dour: taur, and tower itself. Taur isn't really used in the context of towers though, and from all the towers by that name I can't find any that would explain the rest of the clue.

If you want to play | shortly pay | in | (what) [sounds like a dour | frozen world | with a different note.]

Well, kaikamahine is the Hawaiian word for girl, but that's too many k's for most Tolkien names. There's a song called Hawaiian Girl, too. Or perhaps we're looking for a popular girls' name in Hawaii. Or a famous Hawaiian girl.
So ....
The above-mentioned song actually *does* appear to mention thd girl's name:
Aloha Wau Ia Oe (if that's her name).
And I think Aloha was in a list of popular Hawaiian girls' names that I found. But can it firm a Tolkienian name when mixed with a pronoun? Let's see ....
Whoops! This one adds an element within an article. Which I was thinking, yesterday, must be a--n, since splitting the at the end of a word seemed less likely for a feminine name.
Perhaps the article surrounds all the other letters?

Answer to your question: Mim cursed Androg, Hurin and Turin were cursed by Morgoth, along with Morwen and Nienor (and possibly everyone who views any of them in positive light, as the deaths of Gwindor, Finduilas, Beleg, Orodreth, and Brandir prove). Maeglin was cursed by his father. And Feanor, along with his entire house, was cursed by Mandos.

Modern one, then?

Is it a famous singer? Because there are many of those, and there are few synonyms for singer which contain the letter needed.

It is. I mean, in the sense of not Elizabethan or something. :D (Although in literature, that's Early Modern). ;) But he's been around a long time. I saw him perform in the late 80's, and he wasn't young then.

Are they all descendants of Finwe? (Don't hit me … I'm not as First-Age-Fluent as the rest of you).
N: A direction appears in a new form. Spin it for her.
'A new form' seems to suggest an anagrammised version of 'new.' Trouble is, putting an R into 'new' doesn't reform the 'new.'
I am trying to get the clue to justify doubling new - with the R for direction, we'd have NERWEN - but we'd also have an extra W.

Well, if we take (Tarn) AELUIN, change the U to another E, add the Roman numeral D and mix it all up, we can get EARENDIL.
Just thinking - from Finwe's union with Miriel, we get Silmarils, Rings, possibly Palantiri, an alphabet ….
But from Finwe's union with Indis, we get people who are still around.

It IS Donnamira. But if 'mira' means 'fateful,' I've never heard of it, and 'donna' is not an element.
It's NORN for 'fateful lady' (mythical females connected to fate) plus A MAID (I think Galadriel guessed 'maid.') 'Aberrant' is the anagram indicator.
Yes, it's sisters again. I actually wrote this one before the other.
